Gretchen was sitting inside an office at her family's house in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The office was decorated with beautifully crafted Irish furniture, and the tomboyish Irish teen girl herself was seated behind a desk made of oak wood, and a laptop was situated on top of it. Gretchen was humming a song from her father's band as she was about to get around to picking her share of the contestants for Total Drama's newest season.

"Alright, dad said that we're each pickin' 8 contestants; 4 lasses an' 4 lads. Sure, Total Drama's had a few international contestants on their seasons before, but with how popular Total Drama has become worldwide over the past few years, I'm expectin' more international applications than ever fer this new season. Anyway, lemme get around ta pickin' me lasses an' lads fer the new season." Gretchen told herself as she scrolled through her e-mails, scanning her eyes across them before coming across an application that said London "Lucky" Conrad. Gretchen let out an inquisitive hum and clicked on the application.

As the application loaded, Gretchen was shown a picture of a Caucasian girl of average height, being around 5 foot and 7 inches tall and having a skinny petite build. Her hair was dark brown and styled in a ponytail, and her eyes were a green color while her skin color was akin to that of porcelain. She dressed herself in a white t-shirt with a green four leaf clover on it, the t-shirt being worn underneath an unzipped red motorcycle jacket along with green and black plaid shorts, white socks, purple shoes with black highlights and a pair of earrings shaped like stars.

"Ah, this lass is an interestin' one...Despite her nickname, she's said ta be a jinx who usually ends up gettin' 'erself or those around 'er hurt...Sounds like a nice quiet girl fer the viewers back home ta sympathize with...Not ta mention, she's lesbian too, so she'll bring in the LGBT market fer this season as well. Now ta take a look at 'er Audition Tape ta make me final decision..." Gretchen muttered to herself before clicking on Lucky's Audition Tape.

As Lucky's Audition Tape begins, the girl begins to speak in an Irish accent, only to be interrupted by a car crashing into a telephone pole outside the house, causing said telephone pole to come crashing through Lucky's window. As she continues to speak, a beaker filled with chemicals begins to boil over in the background, causing the contents of the beaker to create a hole in the shelf, table and floor of the room Lucky was in. As the girl continues to try and convince the producers to let her compete, a chain reaction is set off in the background involving the shelf from before collapsing, a model car falling onto the table, landing on top of a fly swatter, launching a cup filled with pencils at Lucky, which she dodges and causing the pencils to impale the camera, and Gretchen scratched her head, seeing why Lucky was said to be a jinx.

Lucky then returns using a new camera and continues to speak, revealing she is a fan of her father's band, The Irish Mob, showing a poster of the band that somehow manages to catch fire, though Lucky states it to not be a big deal, having many more posters of the band before the tape strangely cuts to Lucky doing a bad dance set to Mambo No. 5 by Lou Bega, and the dance results in another chain reaction involving a tennis ball being launched out of a window, said tennis ball knocking out a construction worker who was in the middle of demolishing a building, the wrecking ball said construction worker was controlling spinning out of control and said wrecking ball demolishing Lucky's bed.

Lucky then proceeded to apologize for the embarrassing scene Gretchen just saw, though the Irish teen girl got a chuckle out of the whole thing. The Audition Tape ended with a wire from the telephone pole from before coming loose and touching an outline and causing the lights to short out and get the whole neighborhood angry at Lucky.

"Well, this Audition Tape was definitely worth me while. She's goin' onto the final cast fer sure." Gretchen grinned as she dragged Lucky's application to the "Accepted" folder. She then decided to pick a male contestant, and scrolled through the rest of the applications and clicked on one that was titled Levi Blake.

Levi's photo pictured him as a Caucasian male that was relatively tall at 5 foot and 9 inches and had a skinny build. His black hair was in an undercut with long fringes, the sides and back being close to the skin and the top being shoulder length and covering his right eye. His eyes were green in color and his skin was a fair tone, and he sported a tattoo of a crow sitting on top of a dreamcatcher with three feathers hanging from it on his upper right arm, along with an anchor beard. His outfit consisted of a white beanie worn on top of his head and a pair of headphones around his neck. He also wore a half red and half white flannel shirt, the left side being red and the right side being white with a red breast pocket and the right sleeve being cut off. A black leather cuff bracelet was on his right arm and a black hoodie with white stripes was tied around his waist. The lower part of his outfit consisted of a pair of ripped black jeans and black converse shoes with red scribbles on them, completing the look with black eyeshadow.

"Alright, so this lad's a Tumblr blogger with an interest in writin' along with some other niche interests. Gotta say, he strikes me as a real hipster type o' lad, but there's always people watchin' Total Drama who share his niche interests, so I guess he could get in so we can draw the niche peeps into this season's audience. Plus, it helps that the lad's a homosexual, which means we can draw in even more peeps from the LGBT market. Now to take a look at his Audition Tape..." Gretchen told herself as she clicked on Levi's Audition Tape.

Levi's Audition Tape was being filmed in a room with a dark blue wall along with shelves full of vinyl records and albums along with a few vinyl records being nailed to the wall with a pop-punk song playing in the background as Levi himself stood in front of the shelves. As Levi began to speak, he explained his intentions for joining Total Drama's newest season and that he is willing to play strategic, though he has no intentions of being a villain akin to Heather during his time on Total Drama. He ends his Audition Tape stating he would be okay if he didn't win the prize money and that he would have been grateful to have simply been along for the ride and acknowledged he probably wasn't the most interesting person to be on Total Drama but that he hoped to get picked regardless.

Gretchen smiled and nodded as the Audition Tape ended. "I like this lad's attitude. A straight to the point, no nonsense kinda guy. I definitely think he's workable fer the final cast." She said to herself as she dragged Levi's file to the "Accepted" folder before moving on to the next female contestant.

Gretchen then scrolled through the list of applications again and clicked on one titled May Summers. May was a rather short Caucasian girl, being a mere 4 foot and 9 inches tall with a scrawny build with somewhat short and very messy blond hair that covered her eyes, though it didn't appear to hinder her eyesight whatsoever. According to the file, her eyes were blue in color, and her outfit consisted of a blue sweater with gray sweatpants and blue shoes.

"Ah, this lass is a pretty smart cookie, bein' capable of various feats related towards intelligence, though the downside is that she has little social skills an' also suffers from Type 1 narcolepsy, so she sleeps a lot durin' the day an' can be difficult ta wake up, an' she also tends ta daydream a lot on top o' her narcoleptic ways, so this one could be a bituva gamble ta work with, but I see potential in 'er. Just gotta take a look at the Audition Tape she sent us ta make sure we can work with this..." Gretchen clicked on the Audition Tape.

The Audition Tape depicted May slouching on a beanbag, being half asleep as the tape started up before she snapped to attention as she introduced herself, being unsure what to tell the producers about herself to convince them to cast her for the newest season, thinking about it and realizing that her biggest gift is her intellect, and stated that she didn't have much else to add to her Audition Tape and admitted she could doze off if she dragged it out any longer so she ended with her hoping to get picked and turned off the camera.

Gretchen let out an inquisitive hum as she scratched her head, thinking about it before eventually making a final decision. "Alright, I'm gonna take a chance on 'er." She dragged May's application to the "Accepted" folder and moved on to her next male pick. She proceeded to click on an application titled Chander Wicker.

As Gretchen opened the file, she was greeted with a picture of a Caucasian male standing at 5 foot and 9 inches with a lean build and had dark brown hair that he dyed a white color and was fluffy and styled into a quiff as it fell softly on top of his forehead. His eyes were naturally dark blue but he wore yellow contacts in them. His skin was very pale, basically ivory in color, and his outfit consisted of a white dress shirt worn underneath a black suit vest clasped together with three golden buttons, a couple of silver rings on his fingers along with a black rope bracelet, black jeans with a golden chain attached to the top, a spike shaped light brown metal accent circling around his thigh and completing the look with one or two very deep purple boots.

Needless to say, Gretchen was excited about Chander as she read through his file. "Bless me bagpipes, this lad's a fun one! He's a circus artist with a passion fer pranks and a buttload o' energy ta share with 'is fellow contestants! He might be lackin' a lot in the brains department, but I'd say 'is wild an' unbridled enthusiasm more than makes up fer it! Now I just gotta see 'is Audition Tape an' he should be good ta go!" Gretchen beamed as she watched Chander's Audition Tape.

Chander's Audition Tape begins with his father and sister speaking off camera before Chander himself appears as he began to juggle two flaming batons for two minutes straight, and the Audition Tape ended with Chander arguing with his sister, which culminated in Chander accidentally setting the stage he was just standing on on fire, and Gretchen couldn't help but laugh at him.

"Aaaah, this is so great...I'm sure that Patrick woulda picked this guy if he had the chance, but unfortunately, I beat 'im to it...Anyway, he's goin' on the "Accepted" pile fer sure." Gretchen took a deep breath and coughed from all the laughing she just did as she dragged Chander's file to the "Accepted" folder.

Next, she picked another female contestant, this one having a file titled Taylor Kovalevsky. She was a tall pale skinned girl standing at 5 foot and 10 inches with a tough and muscled yet sexy inverted T body with abs, wide shoulders and long legs. She had short and messy orange hair and deep blue eyes, and she had a tattoo of an orange dragon on her lower back, orange and red flames tattooed on her shoulders and a flaming red heart tattooed on her left arm. Her outfit was made up of a brown leather jacket worn over an orange tank top that exposed her belly along with tight black farmer jeans and brown hiking boots.

Gretchen felt her heart pumping and began to feel lightheaded as she saw Taylor's picture. "Great leapin' bog monkeys, this lass is hot! And now that I look at 'er, she looks kinda familiar...I swear I've seen 'er before in me dreams about competin' on two Total Drama seasons titled Space Station an' Lost City...But whatever, it don't matter! What does matter is that she's a very fun lass and could bring a lot to the table fer this new season! She's goin' into the "Accepted" folder!" The tomboyish rock chick grinned as her face was a bright red color, and she fanned her face as she dragged Taylor's file to the "Accepted" folder.

She then took a few deep breaths to calm down as she began to decide on another male contestant, seeing a file titled Roland "Rolo" Burns and clicking on it, finding a picture inside that depicted Rolo as a somewhat tall brown skinned male standing at 5 foot and 8 inches with a lean and strong build with long and well cared brown hair styled in a ponytail and brown eyes. He had a burn wound on his left shoulder and wore black and brown shoes, black trousers, a gray shirt underneath an elegant white jacket and a black hat on his head, completing the look with a cheap iron watch that was painted a gold color on his right wrist.

"This one could be fun too. Says 'ere he's a mobster type but with refined tastes, and he's settin' 'imself up ta be one o' the season's villains. Eh, what's a Total Drama season without some kinda bad guy? I'm puttin' 'im on the list. Don't even 'ave ta watch 'is Audition Tape 'cause it's a few seconds long anyway." Gretchen shrugged as she put Rolo's file into the "Accepted" folder and got to work on her final female contestant.

Gretchen then found a file titled Sabrina Felderguard that she proceeded to open, and saw a picture of a Caucasian girl that was rather tall, being 5 foot and 10 inches and skinny and having medium length black hair that went down to her shoulders and had spiked up bangs to go along with it. Her eyes were blue in color and she wore a black leather jacket over a pink crop top along with near knee length black cargo shorts, black socks and black combat boots.

"This one's a bit different. She's more of a goth girl like Gwen, although she's nearly nowhere as bad as Gwen. Says here she's homeless an' is signin' up fer this show ta improve 'er livin' situation. Well, I'm sure that there's a lotta people who can root fer folks like 'er, so she's goin' onto the "Accepted" pile." Gretchen nodded as she watched Sabrina's Audition Tape first, and after it ended, the Irish teen put Sabrina's file in the "Accepted" folder.

"Alright, one more male contestant and then I'll call it a day." Gretchen spoke as she clicked on a file titled Ashton Everett. Ashton was probably the tallest contestant so far, standing at 6 foot and 4 inches with a muscular build and wavy medium length light blond hair and blue eyes with ivory skin. He also has a few scars stemming from his motorcycle and parkour training, and his outfit was made up of an unzipped black motorcycle jacket with a red horizontal stripe going across the middle with a white t-shirt underneath, a black belt with a silver buckle, black sweatpants with red stripes on the opposite sides and crimson red boots with black laces.

"Ooh, a deaf contestant. We haven't had those before in a Total Drama season. Says here he went deaf from an ear infection when he was just a baby and people considered 'is deafness a sign o' weakness and treated 'im like shit. He's got a bituva temper from bein' kicked around in life but is said ta be a nice guy underneath, an' he works as a stuntman, boxer an' wrestler ta control 'is temper. I'm sure Patrick woulda picked this guy too if 'e had the chance, but looks like I beat 'im to it again." Gretchen chuckled as she clicked on Ashton's Audition Tape.

Ashton's Audition Tape depicted him sitting next to his older sister, Emerson, and Ashton began communicating through Irish sign language with Emerson translating for him. According to Emerson, Ashton was competing to prove that despite being deaf and having an intimidating appearance, he was neither helpless nor a danger, and that Emerson was also a fan of The Irish Mob but couldn't compete on the show herself due to being too old to qualify for the season.

Gretchen smiled and nodded. "Very good. This'll be me last pick, an' then it's up ta dad an' Patrick ta pick the rest." She told herself as she dragged Ashton's file to the "Accepted" folder and leaned back in her chair as she sighed in relief. She soon heard a knock on the door. "Come in!" She called.

As the door opened, a cart was being rolled into the office with coffee and such standing on top of the cart. The cart was being pushed by a Caucasian male standing at 5 foot and 8 inches with a skinny build and curly brown hair with the ends dyed black, his eyes being a brown color as well and having pale peach skin. He has some faded bruises and scratches on his skin, and wears a dark blue hoodie over a gray t-shirt with black pants and white shoes.

"Oh, 'ello! Ye must be one o' the interns that the producers hired fer this season, aren't ye?" Gretchen kindly greeted the boy as he continued to push the cart with coffee on it into the room.

"Yep, that's me, ma'am...Alex Parker, at your service..." The boy responded with little emotion to his voice. "The producers tasked me with providing you with helping out around your family's house today as part of my intern training for when the season starts up..." He continued to speak before tripping and letting go of the cart he was pushing, but Gretchen quickly stopped the cart from crashing into something and rushed over to Alex to help him up.

"Oh, damn. Are ye hurt, lad?" Gretchen asked Alex with a concerned look.

Alex shook his head as he took Gretchen's hand and stood back up. "Not at all, ma'am...It's completely normal for me to trip like this all day, so I can handle it..." He explained to Gretchen.

"Alright, if ye say so...Well, thanks fer bringin' me this coffee. I really appreciate it." Gretchen then smiled at Alex.

Alex let out a small smile of his own and nodded at Gretchen, the smile fading just as quickly. "Anytime, ma'am..." He responded as he left the room again, closing the door behind him. Gretchen soon heard Alex grunting as thumping noises could be heard before the noises came to a stop and Alex groaned in pain.

Gretchen winced as she heard the commotion outside the office. "That's gotta hurt..." She remarked as she left the office to go check on Alex again.

Hello, everyone! Alexneushoorn here with the first cast reveal! Each of the three hosts is going to be picking 8 contestants; 4 girls and 4 boys, and this first cast reveal was Gretchen's turn to pick the contestants! First of all, I want to thank all of those who submitted so far! I've gotten a lot of good submissions, but ultimately, for this first cast reveal, I had to narrow it down to the 8 that I liked the most! To those who managed to get in so far, I want to say congratulations, and to those who haven't managed to get in so far, don't lose hope! There's still two cast reveals left, so there's still a chance you might get in!

Anyway, I'm still accepting contestants, interns and Aftermath hosts for this story, so be sure to submit someone if you haven't already and if you already have submitted someone, don't hesitate to submit more people! Right now, I'm particularly looking for antagonistic female contestants, interns that can fill out a chef role, and Aftermath hosts, so if you have any characters you think would fit in any of these roles, be sure to submit them to me! The application templates are on my profile, along with the submission rules!

And in case you were wondering, yes, Gretchen referenced her appearances on Clown Princess Phoebe's Space Station and Lost City SYOC fics during this cast reveal! Since Gretchen and Taylor competed together on that season, I figured it'd be fun to make a reference to those seasons here in my story, and to keep things logical towards the universe this story establishes, any of the SYOC fics that Gretchen has competed in will be dreams that Gretchen had!

Thanks for submitting so far, and I hope to see many more good submissions coming in! :D – Alexneushoorn
