Chapter one
It had been over ten years since Midoriya was given his quirk. Walking casually down the street, it happened to be the day his teacher died. Parties and parades were happening world wide. The man who told him he wasn't able to be a hero was the mightiest hero of all, All Might. The man who taught Midoriya was also All Might. Everything Midoriya looked up to was All Might. But after the incident that killed his hero, Midoriya put his childish lifetime dream of being a hero away.
No one judged him for keeping All Mights quirk, as there was no need for One for All anymore. Everyone who knew about One for All didn't bother on the boys decision. They also didn't bother to stop him from quitting the hero course after what had happened. Although there were people who tried to stop him like Uraraka, Asui, Iida, and Todoroki. Besides them, no one else pushed on his case. Ever since that fateful day, all five of the students who participated in the rescue for Bakugo made a packed to never tell anyone what they did.
Midoriya paused on the sidewalk to stare at a poster.
"I don't know what to do?" Midoriya whispered to his classmates. All of them had faces of horror. Iida, Midoriya, Todoroki, Yaoyorozu, and Kirishima were huddled in an alley. They stayed silent as All Might was fighting All for One.
"I WON'T LET YOU LIVE THIS TIME" All Might roared while swinging a punch with everything he had. The punch landed on the chest of All for One, but didn't leave a mark. Suddenly, the villain's hand raised up to All Mights neck and gripped his throat.
"My, My. Such big talk for a weakling. How long have you been quirkless for, I ask?" All for One taunted. "I'm offended you would face me like this. I would think you had better manners than this?"
Silence filled the area as Bakugo tried to comprehend what was happening.
What the fuck is happening? All Might can't be losing to a low time villain I've never heard of. This can't be happening! thought Bakugo. A helicopter then shed light onto the scene everyone would never forget. the scene where All Might died. Something stabbed though the Symbol of Peace, and blood followed.
Suddenly, Midoriya snapped out of his flashback. his eyes averted away from the poster of All Might.
How long have I been looking at that poster? Midoriya asked his inner thoughts. He decided to continue making his way to the local grocery store to grab his food supplies.
"That will be $43.32 please. Will that be in cash or credit" asked the store cashier.
"Cash," Midoriya responded.
After grabbing his groceries, he made his way back home. The walk was silent as everyone seemed to be out, celebrating the death of All Might and the rise of a hero who killed All for One that fateful day. Not that it was wrong, but Midoriya thought most people would have forgotten about All Might by now. Heroes were crawling all over the city as most villains attacked on this day. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary to the young adult.
Midoriya quickly opened his door and put all of his groceries away. He lived in a small apartment with luxury details. He became friends with the owner of the ten story apartment and eventually was given a decent discount on his monthly payments. After storing all of his food away, he decided to make his way towards the bed, to shake off the pain of the day. Today was the most stressful for him, as it represented nothing but bad memories.
"Maybe I should just go out for a walk? What do you think Joe?" Midoriya asked his cat. Soon after his suggestion, a black cat appeared from the corner of his eye. It was a bit on the chunky side, but Midoriya was the reason for that. Once the cat jumped on the bed with him, he cuddled the cat for about five minutes.
"Do you want to go out for a walk? there's gonna be less people than usual and I think you'd have the park to yourself. What do you think?" He asked his best friend. He responded with a bite on his ring finger. "I guess that's a yes."
With Midoriya getting set up with a chain in his hand, the cat started to walk to the door as he usually would.
"You must really be in a hurry to see the new slide they built huh?"
After walking a six minute trail, they made it to their destination. It was a small playground behind a public school. It was a holiday so no children were near the play structure.
"Just as I thought, No one is here except me and you." Midoriya let loose of the chain and let his cat take control of where it goes. As Izuku watched his cat, he couldn't help but smile at the joy the cat expressed. With the new slide finished, Joe went down it in a heartbeat.
It had been over forty minutes and Midoriya started to get hungry. "Okay, think it is time to go" Midoriya warned his cat.
Hearing Midoriya yell, the black animal made its way back to its owner. "Where do you want to grab a bite? I think I have enough in the savings and budget to go out for a snack tonight" He asked. The cat simply didn't respond in any way. "I guess I get to chose then." The male then grabbed the chain off the ground and made his way to a Cafe that allowed animals inside.
Once outside of the Cafe, Izuku took a glance at his cat and saw that the cat seemed excited
He knows that he's going out for a snack..Cute he giggled
They walked inside and found that all of the tables were empty.
"Ahh, Midoriya. Been awhile" greeted a man at the cashier.
"Yeah haha, I was going to stop last week, but then I saw that you were being overrun by the dog show competitors," Midoriya explained.
"Haha, it's just like you to do something like that for my sake. That's the reason you're my favorite customer. So will it be the usual for the both of you?" asked the Owner of the Cafe. The Owner was a tall, slim, italian man who was known for never closing, even on holidays. He also had a quirk that allowed him to communicate with most animals, including cats.
"I think I'll take three eclairs and your special chocolate milk Jake. And Joe can have whatever he wants." Midoriya ordered.
"Sounds good." The man started toning his voice to speak with Midoriyas cat. After a short while, he stopped producing vocal sound.
"He says he feels fat and it's all your fault" Jake explained. Midoriya started to chuckle at his cat's feelings. "He also said that he wanted warm milk. I'm surprised your cat is this smart. I'm still impressed with how much English he can understand. How do you do it?" Jake asked.
Midoriya smiled at his compliment and took a breath of air. "I wish I could tell you, but I don't know why he can understand most things I say… Sorry. I just found him as a stray cat and he followed me home one day without me knowing. Then he started to eat my leftover food and that's when I found out that there was a cat in my house. Of course I found him, but- "
"Then he hid under your bed until you agreed to let him stay '' Jake finished Midoriyas story. Both men smiled at each other. Jake then went behind the counter to retrieve the order and sat on the other side of the table with his favorite customer. They talked and asked about each other's lives.
"So why is it that you come here on every Heroes day for the past 6 years" asked Jake. As usual, Midoriya ignored the question until they reached another topic.
"Fine, if you won't tell me, then at least tell me that you have a girlfriend now?" Jake teased. The reason for his teasing was because it was rare to see Midoriya with a girl. Some of his close friends suspected that he was gay at one point, until he cleared that up.
"No! Not yet at least" Midoriya answered truthfully. After an hour of talking, Midoriya became more hungry.
"I think I'm gonna get going. Tell Sweetie that I said hi."
Jake nodded in agreement as Midoriya paid and left with his cat. The city was quiet and chilly as the wind carried through the streets. Silence was a quality that Izuku loved with his heart.
"do you hear that Joe… That's the sound of silence." The cat responded with a cute purr. Walking down the street, Midoirya caught a scent that bothered him, but he discarded the curiosity he had for the fragrance. After walking another block, the plastic chain tightened as Joe stopped moving. As usual, Midoirya pulled on the chain while not looking back. At this point the cat was being dragged across the cement sidewalk. Feeling bad for forcing the cat to go his way, he decided to convince it to follow him.
"Come on, we don't have all night. If you walk with me, I'll give you a treat when we get home. How does that sound." No response was heard.
"Fine, then I wi-" As Midoriya turned his head, he realized that his cat was being withered away like a video game pixel. In an instant, he made an attempt to jump at the cat, but failed miserably. Joe disappeared from existence and Midoirya was in a state of shock.
What in the world just happened? He was here just a second ago so what happened? Maybe if I used my quirk, I would have been able to catch him. But maybe he has a quirk that I don't know about? The male started to freak out on the street.
"Hey! Pull out all of your money or the fucking kitten gets it. And don't even try to look my way or call for help. Simply just throw all of it behind you and I will let your pussy go" announced a cold voice. Midoriya hasn't dealt with a villain in over ten years so he was careful at the orders the man gave. Pulling out all of the money he had on him, he threw it backwards. Upon hearing footsteps, Midoirya spotted the end of his chain being thrown on front of him.
"Wow, you really must love your cat to give me over $700 in cold cash" chuckled the man. Not wanting to use his quirk, Izuku simply picked up the chain and walked away without looking back. Suddenly, a crackling noise was heard from where the criminal stood. Hearing that, Midoirya turned around to see who his hero was.
"I'm surprised you didn't use your quirk Deku, (ribbit)" croaked a familiar voice.
Automatically knowing who it was, Midoirya couldn't smile even if the world depended on it. Not that he was frowning either, it was just that the whole day was filled with memories he wanted to forget. Yet this one topped the cake. Weakly smiling, Midoriya took a deep breath.
"Hey Asui" He half-heartedly spoke.
"I thought I told you to call me Sui" she quickly barked.
Nervose of ruining the moment, Deku shouted "SORRY SUI." In response, all the hero froppy had to offer was a croak that closely resembled a giggle.
"Much better. So can you tell me why you were robbed by this man when you have a quirk that could kill him with one finger?" she asked the young adult while holding the unconscious criminal by the hair. Izuku would usually dodge the question by not saying anything, but not answering her would be extremely rude after not seeing her in over ten years. Last time he saw her was when he was cleaning out his locker, and a long glance was exchanged between the two.
"I kinda freaked out. You know for a fact that I gave up on being a hero. Didn't anyone tell you?" Midoriya blamed the gossip
"Yeah, I did hear. But I didn't believe it... (croak) I guess they were right. But if you quit being a hero, why are you still in decent shape?" Looking over his own body, he wasn't close to being in good shape or bad shape. The holder of One for All had a flat chest and belly, but lost his abs, leaving fat over his abdominal. all of his arm muscle slowly shrunk, but it was still visible to see his biceps. As for his legs, they were still of great use and were better than ever.
"Umm. I don't think this is considered to be in decent shape, but I'll take that as a complement" Midoriya giggled and smiled.
"Nah, I think you're in great shape. Anyway, can you do me a favor and grab all of your money. (ribbit)" as she pointed to the scattered bills.
"Ohh yeah, sorry Sui." Midoriya quickly grabbed all of the cash off the ground.
"Is this your cat?" She reached out to pet Joe, but was freitend when he hissed at her.
"Yeah sorry, he hisses at most people when first meeting them so don't worry about it. He'll start to like you after two or three meets"
suddenly a thought came across Midoriyas head. Why am I being so casual with him? We haven't seen each other in over ten years and we're getting along like we've been best friends since highschool? Second, Wasn't I sad about something all day today? I can't remember anything.
Soon, an hour passed and the two were talking about each other's hobbies and jobs on the sidewalk. Froppy was still in the hero business and played video games as a hobby. Izuku was surprised by her hobby and had a lot of information to contribute. Not realizing how much time passed by, the two continued to talk until Froppys watch alarm went off.
BZZZ BZZZ BZZZ
"Is that your watch?" Midoriya asked. She nodded as she looked at her wrist. A gasp escaped her mouth. "Whats wrong Sui?"
"It's just that my shift is over and now I'm free for the night… I'm surprised that my phone didn't ring for any crimes while we talked for over an hour. I guess time flies when your having fun, huh? (ribbit)" She croaked and Midoriya thought that it was cute.
"Yeah-"Growel!. Midoriya's stomach twisted as he forgot his goal of going home to eat. Embarrassed by the sound of his own stomach growling, his face flushed. Not soon after another growel was heard, but it was from Asui. Both blushed at each other and looked away.
"Uhh, haha, I guess I forgot to have supper. hahaha" Midoriya chuckled to lighten the mood.
"Yeah, (ribbit) I forgot to have lunch," Asui added. Hearing this gave Midoriya an idea.
"Hey Sui, Why don't you come over to my place and we can have supper together" Suggested Deku.
"N- nah, I couldn't," Froppy denied.
"Come on, you're hungry and I'm hungry. My place is close to here so we won't have to walk too far. Plus me and you could talk more about how life has been to us." Midoriya persuaded. Asui placed her finger over her lips to think.
"Okay, I think I'll tag along. Just give me a moment to call my co-workers to come and take this criminal to the slammer." The both of them talked for so long that Midoriya completely forgot about the situation he was in about an hour ago.
"Okay"
About three minutes passed until her associates arrived. After a quick talk about what happened, she made her way to Midoriya.
"Alright, I told them to file a report on what happened. I'm ready" she announced.
Both made their way to his home. The walk was silent and both could hear the sound of each other's stomachs twist, making it more awkward.
Once they arrived at the apartment Midoirya unlocked and opened the door like a gentleman, causing Asui to cringe on the inside. Yet she went along with the cute skit and passed the male.
Once inside of the apartment, Midoirya tried his best to ignore her appearance as it made him uncomfortable
When first looking upon her under the dark, he hadn't noticed any of her body features. But after a glance at her under the light, she changed dramatically. Her breasts were average, but the curves on her waist were giving the male chills down his spine.
He couldn't help but stare at the details of her body as the skin tight suit made it more visible. She kept the main design they offered her in UA High, but the model she wore seemed to look a lot more sexually arousing. Midoiya assumed it was because most woman heroes wore sexual costumes to gain popularity and win awards.
"This is a nice place you have" She admitted walking down the hallway. She noticed that the cat rubbed against her leg. snapping out of daydreaming, Midoriya quickly ran to his kitchen to grab a treat for the cat.
"told you that she would get used to you" Midoriya recalled as he threw his furry friend a treat.
Froppy bent down to pet the cat, leaving Midoirya behind her. He blushed and looked away from the sexual sight.
Wow, her ass is bigger than I thought! He apologized.
"So what's for supper?" Asui smiled.
"Ohh, it's just baked chicken marinated in butter, filled with caribbean spice, with a side of caesar salad" Midoirya answered. Sui seemed impressed at the menu and looked at the oven.
"How long has the chicken been in the oven for?" She questioned
"Well it put it in there before lunch time and thought that I would let it slowly bake." Froppy nodded and looked around again.
I can't believe that I'm in Deku's house! We haven't met in over nine years and we're getting along like we hang out every day. I really thought he would've been a lot different than this? Not that I'm complaining, but what happened to his inspiration to be a hero? She questioned herself. As far as she knew, Midoriya left after the day of All Mights death. At first she thought that he left because his mother made him. But a week later, she was told differently.
Flash back
As Midoriya stood by his locker, he noticed a figure from the corner of his eye. ignoring the presence of someone else, the boy continued to clean out his school locker. Once finished, he closed the locker and stared at the student waiting at the end of the hall.
Asui?
A long pause was waiting, as the two stared at each other.
Is she just going to stare at me or is she waiting for someone? Midoriya questioned.
What the hell is Deku doing? The rumors can't be true, can they? I know for a fact that he is gonna be back someday. He just needs a break for his mom's sake, that's all. Asui reassured herself.
One week later
"What do you mean he quit the course on his own decision. You and I both know that Deku was the most motivated to become a hero. I bet he's only taking a break because his mother was freaking out that a villain was able to kill All Might (croak). But that villain is gone now." Asui disagreed.
"I know, but he told me himself that he was quitting the hero business forever. He also told me to leave him alone. I really thought I had something going with him." Ochaco explained.
"You have his phone number right? can you give it to me so that I can ask him myself? I won't believe he quit the hero business without any verbal evidence from him." Asui asked
"I tried calling him the day after, but he must have changed his phone number. Or he might have canceled his plan, either way, I think he's never coming back into any hero organization?" Ochaco harshly added.
present day
After graduation, half of Asui told herself that he gave up becoming a hero after trying to find his name on the hero registry multiple times.
"Asui, are you okay?" asked a voice that snapped her back into reality. She felt sweaty and smelled funny.
"Of course… This is going to sound weird, but can I use your shower please?"
"No problem, supper will be ready by the time you're done" the male smiled brightly, causing the frog woman to blush. Every girl that met Midoriya agreed that something about his smile made them feel safe and a little dirty, as if they witnessed a smile of an innocent boy
"Thanks" Asui shouted and walked into the washroom. It was a standard washroom with a shower, toilet, and a sink. everything in the bathroom seemed to radiate as well, "How clean is Deku?"
She then turned on the shower and walked in.
there is so much I want to ask him. But I can't ask him too much or I might overstay my welcome. If I can get his phone number, maybe I could invite him to my place next time to make up for tonight. And I might get to ask him more questions. Although I enjoy being around him so far. It's been so long since I've seen anyone who attended the UA high school. I wonder if he's seen anyone from the school too? I should ask him after dinner. She noted.
The frog stood under the metal water dispenser. Liquid poured over her as she rubbed her body with Midoriyas body wash and shampoo. After a seven minute shower, she turned the nob and left the shower.
"Oh no, I forgot to bring clothing," she deadpanned." Guess I will just have to borrow from Midoriya tonight."
As the woman was in the bathroom, Midoirya was setting the plates up.
I can't believe Asui- I mean Sui is in my house. I wonder what she thinks of it? I hope she doesn't think my bathroom is dirty… Did I even clean my washroom today?… Yes, so I'm safe. It's been so long since I have seen anyone from UA in person. Nowadays I just see them on TV or hear them over the radio telling the world to be safe. Although I thought I was depressed about something today… Guess that I will remember tomorrow. theorized the male cooker.
"Hey Deku" yelled Sui.
"Yeah Sui" answered Deku
"Can I borrow some night clothing from you please?" Asui politely asked from inside the bathroom.
"Okay, just wait in the bathroom." Midoirya made no hesitation to run to his room and grab a pair of sleep shorts and T-shirt, but paused at the third object he was about to grab.
"Should I give her my underwear. I mean I have no doubt that she'll fit it, but I don't want her to think I'm a creep who gets off others wearing their underwear. But at the same time, she might want them but won't ask because she'll feel embarrassed to. But she might not need them and will be embarrassed to give them back to me... Then she would be a commando and that would make the situation worse… I think I should give it to her."
After retrieving all three pieces of clothing for sleep, Izuku made his way to the bathroom.
Knock Knock.
"So how is this going to work? Do you want me to close my eyes and hold my hand out? or do you want me to open the door and throw the clothes in?"
Asui blushed at the thought of him opening the door and seeing her naked.
"(Ribbit) you close your eyes" she croaked.
"Okay, I have my hands out now, tell me when your done" he informed her from the other side of the door.
"You better not open your eyes Deku, or I'm going to kick your ass" she threatened. Midoirya gulped as that was the first disturbing thing she said since they met. But he understood why she would say something as such.
"Okay, I promise."
The door slowly opened and Sui peaked her head out to inspect. She took a precaution to hide behind the door to protect her body from being observed. She then seen a Deku with both eyes closed and both hands out, awkwardly frowning
He looks like a criminal being handcuffed… he looks cute like this, she admitted. She then proceeded to grab the towel with her tongue.
"You can open your eyes now" she announced as the door shut. After hearing her permission to open his eyes once more, he quickly made his way back into the kitchen to finish the plates.
Glad that's over Asui huffed. She then opened the wrap of clothing, putting all of it on.
"I look like I'm going to bed" she criticized. The outfit he had given her seemed close to her own sleep wear. As a frog, Asui couldn't put on any heavy sleep attire as it would cause her trouble for sleep. "I know I'm not at a fancy place… but I can't help but feel like I should be wearing something a little more ladylike?… Why do I feel that way?"
"Sui, dinners ready if you're still hungry" Midoirya teased before she could fall into deep thought.
After getting the two person table set up, Midoirya took a seat and waited for Froppy. Not long after, she arrived and the two started eating in silence. About half way into the meal, the peace was broken when Joe jumped on the table.
"Joe, what did I say about jumping on the table when there are guests" Midoriya scolded, only to receive an impression of The hell are you talking about.
"It's okay Deku, I'm fine with it if you are," Asui said.
"Ohh, okay… Soooo what's it like to be famous?" Midoriya asked to loosen the awkwardness. Feeling the same way, Asui answered.
"It's good, until you find out that some fans are totally nuts."
The conversation continued until both plates were empty.
"And that is why I always keep a taser with me" She finished.
"Wow, who knew that fans would use your own weakness against you. If you ask me, they sound like they would make for some great villains." Both chuckled at his comment.
"Ohh, I forgot that thank you for dinner. It was amazing."
"No problem. I don't get many guests here so I wouldn't know if my cooking is good or not. So what time do you work tomorrow?"
"I don't work tomorrow, but I do have a meeting the following day." Suddenly, Froppy froze, staring at her watch.
"Uhh, is something the matter Sui"
"... Do you mind if I stay the night?" Sui asked. realizing why she asked that, Midoirya checked his phone. "Okay… Sorry for keeping you this late"
"Don't apologize. The only reason why so much time passed is because of how much fun I was having with you. It's been so long since I had anyone to talk to like this. It kind of makes me feel like we are in highschool again" she admitted.
"Thanks, that makes me feel a lot better about keeping you here till one in the morning" he lightly laughed.
"So what do we do now? Do you want to go to bed or are you up for a movie that I haven't watched yet."
Asui placed her index finger across her lips to think.
"I'm totally up for it. What's it about? '' she agreed.
"well from what I hear, it's about this boy who was attending the number one hero school and was set to be the number one hero. But then a girl villain the same age fell in love with him and kidnapped him. After messing up the plan, the girl had only few choices to go from. so she has to trust the boy to fix it and the boy agrees… that all I know so far. So are you still interested?" Midoirya asked.
"Yes" she answered with no regret.
"Okay just give me ten minutes to clean up and make popcorn for the both of us. You can just sit on the couch if you want"
In the ten minutes Izuku asked for, he managed to clean the kitchen and make the popcorn for the both of them in the first six minutes. He used the last of his minutes to feed his cat dessert, and add butter and salt to his popcorn.
"Okay, I'm finished." said deku as he walked towards the couch
"Nice. I already put the movie in. Was it called ``Hung over heels for you?" she questioned.
"Correct." Midoriya threw a blanket beside Asui.
"Thanks"
"No problem. If you start to feel tired you can sleep on my bed. I cleaned the sheets this morning." Asui nodded in agreement and positioned herself comfortably on the couch.
After what seemed like an hour, the movie was at a total halt in the story line, making Midoirya clueless.
"What is up with this story line? it makes no sense to me, and it already broke the fourth wall by having people from other movies, knowing they didn't belong. Not only that, the horror part didn't even kick in until half way in. At the pace this story is going, it might have to get a sequel to finish. Although the romance between the two seems pretty solid… No, I would be lying to myself if I said that" Midoriya ranted in his head. The male then looked to his side to look at Asui. the position she was at was the same as when she first sat, but with her eyes closed
"She must have fallen asleep, guess I'll leave the movie on and go to sleep." Midoirya then proceeded to hand her the spare blanket and pillow from the closet.
"If she wakes up I'm sure she won't mind the couch? But I offered the bed so is it rude for me to take the bed now? But she's already asleep so my best option would be to head to my bed and sleep. I'm sure she will understand?" Midoriya debated. Walking to his bed midoriya pulled out his phone and opened his music and slept.
