''Hiring someone to clean this house is out of the question.'' Mi Sun said showing Jin her open laptop as he came into the living room after putting the kids to bed.
She had only just begun looking unto hiring someone once the kids were back in school.
Jin glanced at the laptop screan before saying anything.''We can afford it,but with prices going up on everything, I'm not sure for how long.''
''We need to find another way to keep the house clean.''Mi Sun advised closing the laptop.
''I have an idea.'' Jin told her.''Let's get some sleep and tomorrow we'll figure this out.''
The next morning after breakfast Jin had everyone sit on the couch as he turned on the TV.
''We're all going to help your mom keep the house clean so it doesn't end up like this.'' Jin announced pressing play on an episode of hoarders.
''Everyone is going to have chores.'' Mi Sun told them once the episode concluded.
''So we have to clean the whole house by ourselves?'' Min Ho asked.
''No. We're going to help too.'' Jin assured him.''But after school, you three are going to come home, do homework, and then your assigned chore.''
The next afternoon the older kids came home to find their assigned chores written on a sheet of paper on the fridge.
''Great. I got the dishes.'' Min Hee grumbled looking over at the full sink of dishes.
''I have to take out the trash.'' Min Ho stated while holding his nose.
The kids got to work on their chores. Meanwhile Min Jun was having fun with his friends.
The kids all stopped playing tag as Didi brought out a plate of freshly baked cookies for an afternoon snack.
''Do you guys gotta do chores?'' Min Jun asked taking a bite of his chocolate chip cookie.
''No.'' Tommy answered while everyone else shook their heads.
''i have to when I get home.'' Min Jun explained finishing off his cookie.
''What are chores anyways?'' Phil asked taking another cookie from the plate on the ground.
''They're stuff you do to help your mommy and daddy keep the house clean.'' Min Jun explained.
''That sounds boring. I'm glad our daddy already keeps our house clean.'' Lil commented. Phil nodded in agreement.
''There's nothing wrong with being messy.'' Kimi pointed out.
''Says the one who couldn't find her new toy to show at show and tell.'' Chuckie said.
Kimi looked down in embarrassment and sighed.''Maybe I should pick up my toys.''
Their conversation was brought to an end as Min Jun was called to go home.
He arrived home and picked up his toys.
''I did my chores.'' Min Jun said happily as he came into the kitchen where his mother was making dinner.
''Good.'' Mi Sun said turning away from the stove.''Go get plates for you and Ji Yeon.''
Min Jun went over to the lower cabinet where his and Ji Yeon's dishes were kept. He grabbed a P aw Patrol divided plate for himself and a pink Minnie Mouse divided plate for Ji Yeon.
''Does Ji Yeon have to do chores too?'' Min Jun asked handing his mother the plates.
''She's a baby. She will do chores when she's older.'' Mi Sun explained as she made the kids plates.
Min Jun didn't think this was fair. He wasn't the only one that played with the toys in the playroom. He ate his dinner quickly and waited for Ji Yeon to finish.
Min Jun put his plate in the sink and went downstairs to play since Ji Yeon was taking forever to eat her dinner.
Min Jun was just setting up his cars when Mi Sun came downstairs with Ji Yeon.
''Let her play with you while I clean up dinner.'' Mi Sun instructed.
Min Jun sighed but didn't argue. He continued lining up his cars while Ji Yeon went off to play with her own toys.
Min Jun lost all track of time until he looked up to see Mi Sun standing in front of him.
''Time to pick up and get ready for bed.'' She said.
Ji Yeon dropped the toy that she had been playing with and crawled over to her mother.
MI Sun picked Ji Yeon up and carried her up the stairs leaving Min Jun to clean up the playroom.
He looked around the room and groaned at the big mess that Ji Yeon had made. Almost all of her toys had been taken out and were now strewn around the room.
Min Jun thought for a second as he picked up his toys. It wasn't fair for him to have to clean up after his little sister. She made the mess so she should clean it up. He finished cleaning up his toys and went upstairs to get ready for bed.
''Why isn't the playroom clean?'' Mi Sun asked as she brought the younger kids down to play.
''I cleaned up my toys.'' Min Jun pointed out.
''Your job is to clean up all the toys.'' Mi Sun reminded him.
''But Ji Yeon made that mess.'' Min Jun whined and pointed to the toys that Ji Yeon had played with.
''She's a baby and doesn't understand or know how to put things away.'' Mi Sun explained picking up a few of the toys.''You have to show her how. Soon enough she will help you clean up the toys, but for now it's your job.''
Later in the day everyone was eating lunch when Jin arrived with a large box and a small bag in his hand.
''What's this?'' Mi Sun asked getting up from the table.
''A mop and vacume combo.'' Jin answered setting the box down.''I'll set it up when I come back.''
He picked Ji Yeon up out of her high chair and came back a few minutes later.
''Ji Yeon come here.'' Jin called.
Ji Yeon came crawling into the kitchen wearing a red long sleeved outfit with bumps of fabric all over it.
''What is she wearing?'' Mi Sun asked as she watched Ji Yeon crawl around the kitchen.
''It's a baby dusting outfit so now she can help clean too.'' Jin explained.
Min Jun was happy to hear that Ji Yeon did in fact have to help clean.
