Nine months later, Katniss' POV:
I stand with Regulus, Sirius, James, and Remus on my left and Minerva and Albus on my right. The entire room is nearly silent as everyone waits to hear the judge's ruling on our case.
"I have decided on my ruling on this custody case. I rule that Regulus Black and Sirius Black are permanently in the custody of Katniss Lupin. Regulus Black and Sirius Black may not, under any circumstance, be taken from Katniss Lupin. Not even the Ministry may change this," the judge rules. Everyone on our side claps and cheers, some even whistle. Regulus, Sirius, James, and Remus all hug and then pull me into the embrace. I laugh before hugging each boy individually. I walk up to the judge and shake his hand.
"Thank you. This means a lot to me and these boys," I thank him.
"It was an interesting case, Miss Lupin. However, the Blacks didn't realize how much dirt I already had on them from previous cases against them. I'm glad those boys have finally gotten out of that house," the judge says.
"As am I. Enjoy the rest of your day, sir," I say before walking back to the boys. "What do you say we go celebrate? We won't just be celebrating Sirius, James, and Remus' graduation today, we'll be celebrating you boys joining Remus as my sons. You're mine now and no one, not even your former parents, can take you from me," I state.
I lead the boys out of the courtroom. I apparate the boys back to my estate. This is the first time any of them have seen it, seeing as it has recently been renovated from its formerly abandoned state. I smile gently at their expressions as I guide them into the house.
"Over the past few months, I've had my estate renovated back to its former glory, with a few extra additions, of course. Your rooms are yours. Feel free to change them to your liking. I went fairly easy on them with just your house colors. James, you also have a room here for whenever you stay over. All of your rooms are down this hall, which is opposite mine. Each of your rooms has its own bathroom, walk-in closet, and study attached. The rooms extend on their own, similar to the Room of Requirement at Hogwarts," I explain as I lead them down the hall to their rooms. The boys look around in shock and amazement. "Now, let's continue the tour. Every single room in this house has a plague on it with the name of the room. For example, the kitchen's plague says 'kitchen' on it. Your room plagues can be changed with a simple spell, which I will show you later. Downstairs in the basement is four rooms and a hallway. The farthest room down the basement's hallway is the game room. In the room opposite the game room, there is a theater. There is a destruction room on the right-hand side of the stairs. The destruction room is a place where you can go in case you want to get any anger out by destroying things. The items to be destroyed are replaced every week so feel free to go at any time. The door to the left of the stairs leads to both the indoor and outdoor pools. And that's all for the tour. Oh! I nearly forgot. Once a month, I make an all-day trip to Diagon Ally and Hogsmeade. Make up a list of everything you will need for the entire and then you can come with me to shop. There are quite a few rock walls and other fun outdoor things around the property. Feel free to explore and if you have any questions, just ask." I add as I lead the boys down to the basement and show them each room.
Sirius laughs, looking around the game room eagerly, before whining when Remus pokes him in the side with a reprimanding look. I lead the boys back to the living room. I conjure four magical maps, similar to the Marauders Map, which they still think I don't know about. I hand a map to each boy. They open the map, only to look at me confused when it remains blank. I chuckle.
"The maps each have a special password spell on them, similar to your Marauder Map. Yes, I know about that map. After all, I created the spell and wrote about it in one of my books. Come up with a unique password for your specific map. Once you are in your rooms, point your wand at the map and clearly state your password. The map should form all of the passages and rooms throughout the entire estate. No matter where you are, once you open the map with your password, the map will show all the rooms and passages in the place you are in. Your map will only react to your magic core, and only someone else if you connect a small wisp of their magic core to the map or if they are your personal declared heir. Otherwise, it looks like a plain ol' map to any passerby," I explain, chuckling at their shocked expressions when I mention the Marauders Map.
"Thanks, Mom," Remus says.
"Thank you, Mrs. Lupin," James, Sirius, and Regulus say.
"Now, boys what did I say about calling me by my last name? It makes me feel old, you know that. Call me anything but Mrs. Lupin or Professor Lupin. Hell, I don't care if you call me mom or aunt," I scold lightly.
"Got it, Kat," Regulus says.
"I'll leave you boys to settle in. I'll be in the kitchen baking a few sweets. You can help once your done settling in," I say. The boys rush to their rooms to unpack and settle in quickly so they can help me bake.
Hey, everyone! I hope you enjoyed chapter six of "A Mother Never Forgets!" This is one of my favorites out of all my works. Chapter seven will skip a year or so ahead to Regulus' graduation. Also, I listened to "Chosen Family" by Rina Sawayama and Elton John while writing this. I think the song really fits chapters five and six (this and the one before). Have a wonderful day/night! I hope you enjoy reading these chapters!
