Chapter Four

The boy's eyes widened. He knew the sort of damage she could do that with that recording if she got to use it. If.

"No! Stop!" The young boy leapt at Winnie, attempting to knock the Nintenboy from her hand.

Winnie was caught off guard by the sudden attack. The young boy was stronger than he looked. He managed to knock the Nintenboy from her hand, and then quickly rushed over to retrieve the Nintenboy. He managed to retrieve only for Winnie to quickly recover and tackle him to the ground, causing the Nintenboy to once again fall to the ground. The young boy was no match for her, and she easily restrained him.

"Give me back my Nintenboy!" He exclaimed.

"I don't think so." Winnie said, as she got up and retrieved the Nintenboy. "You're not getting anywhere near this."

She then dashed out of his room, with the young boy soon making haste after her. She had the Nintenboy, and the young boy knew it. He was going to get it back, by any means necessary. Winnie rushed into the elevator as fast as she could, she managed to get there before he could, now all she had to do was hope that it closed in time. She relentlessly mashed the close door button in hopes of somehow speeding up the process. The boy quickly morphed into his bat form and rushed over to the elevator an in attempt to block it from closing. This succeeded to the dismay of Winnie.

"Fine, I'll just take the stairs." She stated as she prepared to run out of the elevator. The young boy then morphed back into his human form as he went to grab at her legs, causing her to trip over and for the Nintenboy fall out of her grasp. Which the boy quickly took as he attempted to rush back to his room with the hope of locking the door and destroying the evidence. Unfortunately for him, he just isn't that fast when compared to Winnie, especially now that she was running on all fours. One successful tackle later and the Nintenboy was back in Winnie's possession as she sprinted downstairs. The boy transformed back into a bat and followed Winnie in hot pursuit, a method which proved successful as Winnie and the boy were neck-and-neck in terms of distance near each other. The boy would have to do something and fast, though, if he wanted a chance at stopping Winnie before she reached her destination of the main hall where she planned to reveal the culprit to everyone.

"This is so dumb…" He said, but he knew it had to be done. The boy transformed back into a human, landing right on top of Winnie and causing the both of them to enter a short of free-fall as they tumbled down the stairs. Needless to say, Winnie wasn't preempting such an action and the Nintenboy was loosened from her grasp as it flew out of her hands and into the air.

"Dad, I think it'd be a good idea if we went on a vacation for once. Aren't you tired of running the Hotel all the time?" Mavis stated to her father, Dracula. They had begun discussing as they entered into the main hall of the Hotel. Johnny was there too.

"Yeah, Drac, you wouldn't want to go visit a Death Grips concert together? You'd love their music, promise." Johnny said in his classic air-headed way of speaking.

"No, no," He said as he began dismissing their concerns, "I've been running this hotel for a hundred years, what's a hundred more? I don't need a vacation." He said.

Just as they were discussing this, a large CRACK sound could be heard as the Nintenboy slammed onto the hard stone floor of the main hall. All the meanwhile, Winnie and the young boy tumbled on the floor mostly unscathed. Both were heavily disoriented, but only Winnie had the willpower to make a final mad dash for the Nintenboy.

"What is going on?" Mavis angrily asked. Just then, the young boy immediately started tearing up and crying.

"S-she took my Nintenboy. I-I tried to g-get it back but she at-ttacked me…" He said through all his sobbing.

"Don't listen to him! He's the culprit, he's the real one who wrecked the Hotel!" Winnie countered.

"He's the true culprit!?" Johnny said rather over-excitedly. He had never really been all-too convinced that Dennis had done it. A few odd glances from Mavis and Drac is enough to cause him to alter his tone. He clears his throat and goes, "He's the true culprit?" with an inquisitive tone and raised eyebrow.

"Weilan?" Dennis says, looking at the young boy. The noise had awoken him from his slumber and he left his room to see what had happened.

"You know this dweeb?" Winnie questioned.

"Yeah, he goes to my school." Dennis simply replied.

"So he lied about never meeting Dennis. Figures." Winnie thought to herself. "Well, he's the one who vandalized the Hotel!" She announced to Dennis.

Dennis glanced at Weilan for a moment, before looking back at Winnie. He had an unexpectedly neutral, unconvinced expression on his face. "You really think Weilan did it?" He asked.

To see even Dennis doubt her hurt a little, but nonetheless she didn't miss a beat and responded with, "Not think. I know. It's all on here." She said as she waved around the Nintenboy.

"The Nintenboy that you stole?" Mavis said, with a hint of irritableness emanating from her voice.

"I didn't steal it! I found it, honestly. In a place where it shouldn't have been." She said, as she glared at Weilan. "And on here is evidence, a confession no less!" She then tried turning on the Nintenboy. The LED Light flickered on but, strangely, the screen did not appear to turn on, nor were any noises sounded. It was clear that it had broke during the chaos.

Winnie had all these eyes staring at her intensely. Some (Weilan) with fear, some with intrigue, and some with excitement. And all she could give in return now was a sheepish "It's…not working."

"You broke my Nintenboy!?" Weilan boisterously said, with genuine resentment in his voice. He snatched the Nintenboy from her hand as he frantically pressed at the buttons to make something, anything, happen.

The situation was starting to not look good for Winnie, as people were now beginning to side with Weilan. Even Johnny was beginning to think that maybe, just maybe, she had the wrong guy.

"So let me get this straight," Mavis said as she pinched her forehead in what was a mix of frustration and disappointment, "You called yourself being a little 'detective', accused an innocent boy of vandalizing the hotel, attacked him, and then you proceeded to break his personal property?"

"I-It wasn't supposed to go like this…" Winnie said, dejected.

"I think it's time you leave." Mavis said, plainly. It wasn't a request.

"B-but what about the culprit?" Winnie said, trying to defend herself.

"We'll deal with that." Mavis said. "But for now, please leave."

And with that, Winnie had no choice but to leave the Hotel Transylvania, engulfed in shame. Her tail between her legs, and her head held low. All she could think about was how she failed. Failed herself, failed Dennis, and failed the Hotel.
