His eyes shot open…"again huh"…it's much too annoying having the same nightmares over and over again…for how long is this going to keep up…It has been 10 years since that but even so..sometimes pain comes back in the form of dreams…although it has healed to quite an extent…
But his reaction seems to have dulled a lot…who would have thought that this day would really come in his life…when even after that having that dream he would be this calm…now he seems to have gotten used to it… he was 22 when this happened and now he is 32…
He couldn't imagine that this day would really come..he who was supposed to be closer to her than anybody else … now is nothing more than a stranger to her…

He washed his face with cold water …as the cold water splashed his face…he finally felt awake and just stared at his lifeless face…
"Again a new day huh"... there was something else he thought but decided to ignore it … finally he got ready for the day… he went to drink his morning coffee topless only in his blue PJ's that he wore to sleep last night…
As he went through his daily chores as it had been for the past few years … there weren't new changes to his daily routine … but he realised that today is the day he must send money over to a bank account that he himself created for her on her 16th b'day…although she is no longer here with him … but he still deposits money in that account every year…someone might think why do this for someone who betrayed you…but sometimes hidden truth is far crueler than the visible reality…it has multiple layers and factors to it..well this might be a story for another day…but back to the bank … kaname Kuran , the top notch neurologist of the Apollo city hospital…infact one of the best… A prodigy in the field of medical sciences… is one of the youngest to have obtained the licence to perform surgery and even oversee them …. will always come in person to deposit this money … hoping to accidentally meet her here …Sir , you always come here on this day to deposit money…coincidentally this was the one banker who opened the account for him in her name and was always the one to whom he deposited…"Although you deposit it every month…but i don't see her anymore"..."Even i have no idea Sir Thompson…where is she now?..."Kaname replied to which the banker said "But you still deposit monthly.. without a complaint"... Thompson says.."Habits die hard , you know"..."Can you do me a favour?" Kaname asked
"No …not again…you always ask this " Thompson replied to his question..
"Please I need to know if she is ok"..Kaname asked adding "this is the only way I can make sure she is okk"..."Fine but this is the last time , got it"... Thompson replied
"Well , according to transaction in this account…as per the last 9 years traditions, only on February 13 , woww…it's the first time she withdrew a large sum"
"What do you mean ?"
"Well for the first time she has withdrawn 250 dollars…and this time it looks like she is here in Japan"...
Kaname was shocked at this revelation…for 9 years she was in USA after deciding to cut of all contacts with him…he had to beg her to keep her account open … saying that it's not his money but her parents money that he is supposed to give her…even so it looks she hasn't been using this account that much since last five years..He has no idea how she is…but somehow only these transactions soothes him .. knowing she is withdrawing money … that at least there's this connection between them…he must seem like a pathetic man still after the same woman who betrayed him but even so he can't help it … afterall he did promise her parents to always take care of her…
But knowing she was in Japan , he just wanted to see her … no matter what happened between them in the past…despite all that he wants to see her…make sure she is okk…she is living a happy life…even if he can never be a part of her happy life..
'Its not like i am gonna ask her to come back to me… i let her go that day … I loved her and maybe i am still in love with her but does it really give her the right to abandon him like that.." She made him promise he won't come to see her…she doesn't want him there in her life that she wants to start anew with her new love…"Love , huh… so cruel yet so beautiful "...
Today it was Feb 28th , her birthday…meaning it hasn't been that long since she withdrew money…what if she is still here…he just needed to see her from afar..just once and that will be enough to make sure she is okk… Few days back he thought he saw her silver haired boyfriend for whom she left him and their life together behind…but before he could even call back to him…that man disappeared .. he asked people around but to no avail…
With all this new found information he went to his hospital… to keep his mind occupied and busy…he immersed himself in his work…and now he is also a part of the ER room the busiest department of the hospital despite being from the neurology department… He himself volunteered for this job…it kept him busy…more like super busy thus giving him no time to wallow in self pity and loathing…
"Was the transaction done in Tokyo?" Seeing the annoyed expression on Thompson's face…he added "please" showing his most desperate look…these men shared an unspoken understanding of each other…Thompson sighed and spoke "yes the transaction was done in Tokyo…and this is gonna cost you"
On hearing this Kaname's face lit up and he said "yup…definitely"... Thompson didn't pry further into his complicated history with the love of his life…but he just didn't understand his love or obsession with her … He still remembered the day he saw her with him ..she was smiling so much…and her eyes kept looking at him … many times .. and now she doesn't want to have anything to do with him…. 'how life changes'…he thought and he watched as the dark haired male went out of the bank..
Kaname just wanted to go to that ATM…first of all but duty called…he was onduty for this morning so he had to be there …despite being the number one hospital in Tokyo… ER was always understaffed …not many could handle working in ER for long…but he has been working there for three straight years and it kept him busy…sometimes being able to save people brought him joy after seeing the smile of their loved ones…his heart has become dark and weary …that he couldn't feel all those emotions on his own but seeing these happy smiles on patient families brought him immense joy and happiness…with a sense of achievement…after she left him this is the only thing that made him feel somehow alive…So he decided to go to the hospital but he took a long turn this time around…and first went to that ATM…what if he got to see her ..He waited for half an hour before he got a call…he is immediately needed in the ER room…then he drove quickly to his hospital in his black car…he went there and the nurse called Hana…"Doctor , where were you…do you have any idea how many patients we had today"..."Sorry there was some business to attend to today" he replied to Hana…Hana also knew of this habit in the three months she was working with him…He was always late on this particular day…So she just let him go…
"Doctor you better get to your office soon though"...
"Yeah I am going" kaname replied
With that he left for his office…having many thoughts in his mind..first of all how to know is she is still here…who should he contact…he did try to contact her best friend yori but he really has no idea why she refuses to answer anything about yuki to him…and even hanabusa seems to have an idea but he won't say anything despite him being a die hard of kaname…with these thoughts he just sat in his office after donning his hospital gown over the black shirt and grey trousers he was wearing…and started looking through the files of some of his neurology patients…but today he just couldn't concentrate… "Doctor , doctor"
"Yes Hana , what happened can you tell me?"
"There's an emergency…a children's bus got in an accident during their trip to the local musuem"...
"Are they in the condition to moving the patients?"..
"We have to go there and check as the situation is not clear"
"Alright keep some of the doctors incharge of fractures and operations and i am going to interns out with me..they might get to learn Today and can finally put their practice to test"
"Actually specialists and interns has been dispatched…there's a little girl who seems to have lost lot of blood and also seems to have a injury to her head and her stomach..before she could finish
"Where is she ?"
"She is in er 203"..with that he went to the little girl…whose hand was held by her teacher…
Somewhere in a office a phone buzzed …sorry for the interruption I need to attend this call…it's from my daughter's school…
Her boss dismissed her saying it's okk…
"Yuki … yuki could hear sobbing sounds from the other end…"what happened yori chan?...Are you ok?"
Yori is Yuki's best friend and her daughter's class teacher…
"It's Ai …yuki "
Yuki's heart sank…"what happened to Ai?..Is she okk?"
"I am sorry the bus got in an accident and Ai chan sustained some injuries …she is in hospital for now…and doctors are looking at her "
Yuki tried to keep her calm…"which hospital?..i am coming right now"
"Tokyo University hospital"
"I am coming there right now …Are you with her ?"
"Yes … i am " yori replied while sobbing
" Please take care of her … i will be there as soon as I can " yuki replied…
Yuki ran as fast as she could…outside her office..
Zero called out to her…"yuki where are you running off to?"
"Ai …she is in hospital … i have to go to her quickly" yuki replied while crying
"I'll drive you there…"
"What about your work?"
"Its Ai we are talking about…let's go"
"Thank you " yuki said while sobbing…
"Where?"
"Tokyo University Hospital"
'Now tell me how this happened' zero asked.
Yuki told him everything she heard from Yori and the drive was full of anxiety and tension..yuki wanted to cry … but she held on
"It will be okkk…yuki don't worry…while grasping her hands"
"Yeah she will be"..she said it more to convince herself rather than zero…
At the hospital…
Kaname looked at the teacher…and was shocked to see who it was…"Sayori San"
"What ? Kaname san … you work here " yori said in between her tears…"please help her…she is badly injured"
"Yeah…please move a bit …she will be okk…why don't you wait outside for a bit"
Yori nodded through her tears…
First he checked her vitals…she seems to have lost a lot blood…
Her blood pressure is decreasing but currently not an alarming rate…we have to do something…especially areas around her stomach looked in pretty shape…such a yound child escaped Hana's lips…
On her stomach it seems something sharp has cut through it…
Call a gastroenterologist just in case..we need to perform a surgery…then kaname started examination…and found they really need to perform surgery on her…as it seems some shards penetrated deeper in her stomach due to the impact…It might have injured her internal organs…
"Prepare the ER"
"Sayori San…i think we need to perform surgery on her…it seems some of the glass pieces have reached inside …for now we have put her on anasthasia…
Can you call her parents?"
At the mention of her parents Yori flinched a little…"yeah … i called her "
Yuki was out of breath as she reached the hospital
"Yori how is Ai ?...is she okay? Where is she?"
Before yori could reply yuki heard a voice she never thought she would hear again..
"Yuki"
"Kana nii"
Both of them were shocked to see each other…
But currently Yuki's mind was only occupied with one thought…Ai's wellbeing..
"Please save Ai…please kaname"
Yuki said while crying on his chest…
He never thought they would be reunited like this..
"It will be okk…i'll save her…nothing will happen to her i promise" he said while looking into her deep brown eyes
Doctor … operations procedure are going on…will need you there … okk..
And one more thing…we don't seem to have AB-ve blood group currently…is there anyone in the family who can donate…
Yuki was Ave , zero was Bve whereas yori was Ove…
We don't have AB-ve…Let me contact some of my friends…and see if they have same blood group as Ai…zero said..
Kaname abruptly said…"Start the procedure… i have AB-ve , i can donate … "
Zero was shocked at this revelation like he was trying to connect some dots ever since he saw Ai…it finally connected and he so wished he was wrong…
Yuki didn't say anything at the moment…and just said Thank you Kaname … Zero and Yori both noted how yuki no longer addressed Kaname the same way she used to…
Seeing the tension between all four of them…
Hana said "okk …doctor i will get equipment's ready for the procedur…it's okk…i will donate it and Takuma can take over the operation…
"All of you please wait outside the room…"
Hana said to the patients…
"She will be okk… Kuran san is the best doctor we have and Takuma is the second best after him in surgery…so please don't worry .."
Kaname eyed yuki from the corner of his eyes…yuki was aware of his gaze…but she averted his gaze…
"Ai will be okay…yuki…I'll make sure nothing happens to her" kaname told yuki with a determined face…whatever complications yuki and kaname had in their relationships…but just one thing mattered…Ai was Yuki's daughter…daughter of the person most important to him…"Zero , Sayori San please take care of yuki"...
"Is that something to even ask .." huffed Zero
He gave a determined glance towards the trio and moved to the operation theatre….
