Normal was the first thing people would think of when the Dursleys pop up in their mind. Unfortunately, the Dursleys weren't normal, well, they thought they weren't normal.. The family blames this on their niece and nephews, who's been living with them since '81. The man of the house was known as Vernon Dursley. On the outside, he seems nice and always trying to get his work done. But it's very different once he stepped into his home. He's kind towards his wife and son, but not towards his niece and nephew. His wife was known as Petunia Dursley, the stay-at-home mom. She, too, doesn't totally care for her late sister's children. The couple had a son named Dudley, who didn't like his cousins all because his parents don't. The nephews of Petunia are Harry James and Skyler Ashton Potter and niece of Petunia is Alyssa Lillian Potter, the children of the late James and Lily Potter.
Though they are triplets, Alyssa might not be seen as the youngest of the triplets.
Harry, along with Skyler (better known as Ashton) and Alyssa, had always been small and skinny for their age (they are ten). They looked even smaller and skinnier than they really were because all they had to wear were old clothes of Dudley's, and Dudley was about four times bigger than they were.. Harry has perpetually untidy black hair, bright green eyes, and lightning bolt-shaped scar on his forehead. He, along with his brother, has a thin face and knobby knees. However, out of the three siblings, Harry was the only one that wore Windsor glasses. Ashton looks (almost) identical to Harry. However, instead of having black hair, Ashton has untidy dark red hair with bright green eyes. Ashton doesn't have a scar anywhere on his body. And then there was the youngest Potter triplet – Alyssa. She has straight neat auburn hair that flowed down to her shoulders. Her eyes were beautiful hazel eyes. She also has a scar, but not a lightning bolt-shaped scar. She has a faded bit scar on her shoulder. It's been there since she was three years old. Alyssa was hiding a terrible secret from her aunt, uncle, and cousin. Her brothers were the only one that knew her very terrible secret.
At the moment, the Potter triplets were sleeping soundly on their bed. If you cannot tell, the triplets share a bed and a room. Actually, the room was the cupboard under the stairs. That's where they've been sleeping for ten years. They always sleep the same way, enjoying each other's company. Harry was laying on his back with his left arm around his sister's shoulders while his right arm was around her waist. Alyssa was laying half on top of her brother. Her face was hiding in Harry's neck and her arms were around him. Ashton was cuddling against the wall with his back touching Alyssa's back. They were sleeping peacefully until Harry heard someone outside his cupboard door.
"Up! Get up! Now!"
Harry woke up with a start. His aunt tapped on the door again.
"Up!" she screeched.
Harry heard her walking toward the kitchen and then the sound of the frying pan being put on the stove. With his sister in his arms, Harry tried to remember the dream he had been having. It was a good one. There had been a flying motorcycle in it. He had a funny feeling he'd had the same dream before. He's not the only one that had this dream; Alyssa and Ashton also had the same identical dream.
His aunt was back outside the door.
"Are you up yet?" she demanded.
"Nearly," said Harry.
"We get a move on, I want you, Skyler, and Alyssa to look after the bacon. And don't you dare let it burn, I want everything perfect on Duddy's birthday."
Harry groaned.
"What did you say?" his aunt snapped through the door.
"Nothing, nothing . . ."
Harry glanced down at his sleeping sister and brother. Alyssa and Ashton were usually heavy sleepers. Vernon and Petunia would always get vex with Alyssa and Ashton would get up late. They tried everything, but Alyssa and Ashton didn't listen to them. Harry doesn't understand why either.
"Lys. Ash. Get up. Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon will get angry again," said Harry, trying to get them up.
Alyssa groaned, annoyed, rolling over so she was cuddling against Ashton's back. Ashton didn't move or made a sound.
"I don't want to get up, Hazza," Alyssa mumbled into Ashton's back.
Harry sighed quietly before taking a hold of his siblings' arms. Both Alyssa and Ashton complain when Harry (who was the oldest out of the three) pulls his siblings out of their cupboard. He let their arms go before they entered the kitchen. The Potter triplets noticed gifts under the table for their eleven year old cousin — Dudley. They looked at each other with a sour look before stepping towards the counters and stove.
It wasn't long before Vernon and Dudley stepped into the kitchen. Harry was flipping the bacon while Ashton was frying the eggs. Alyssa was doing nothing, but leaning against the counter, stopping herself from falling asleep.
"Comb your hair!" Vernon barked at the Potter boys, turning towards the Potter girl, "Don't you dare fall asleep!"
Vernon was about to take a hold of Alyssa. However, the only Potter girl knew what he was about to do, though her eyes were closed, "Don't touch me. If you do touch me, I will bite you."
Ashton's and Harry's snapped towards their sister with wide, horror eyes. The brothers were praying silently hoping Alyssa was joking about biting their uncle. It has to do something with the secret Alyssa was trying to keep from everyone (minus Harry and Ashton).
After Alyssa said that, Vernon's face turned red with rage, "How dare you?! You have to show me respect since my wife and I are allowing you and your stupid brothers to stay here, you ungrateful brat!"
Without notice, Alyssa snapped her eyes up. However, instead of her normal hazel eyes, they were yellow gold. This usually happens when she gets angry, which her aunt and uncle would noice. She growled under her breath, turning fully towards Vernon. This didn't go unnoticed by her whole family. Vernon, Petunia, and Dudley stepped away from the young girl while Ashton forced Alyssa to face him. He placed his palms on her cheeks, silenting telling her to calm down. Alyssa saw the love in her brother's eyes before yellow gold eyes turned back to her normal hazel ones. The young lass whimpered sadly, burying her face into Ashton's chest.
Ashton glanced over at Harry, who was staring at their sister with sadness flowing through his bright green eyes. He glanced over at Petunia, who was actually staring down at Alyssa with concern in her eyes. Petunia glanced over at Ashton, ordering him in a soft tone, "Take her to the cupboard."
He nodded, leading his sister back to their cupboard. Instead of returning to the kitchen, Ashton stayed with Alyssa. They lay back down on the small bed.
She looked over at him with sadness in her eyes, "I don't know how to not become angry anymore, Sky."
Ashton moved her hair out of her face, replying, "I know you don't have many, but try to think of happy thoughts. If you can't, I know for sure in the future, you will have happy memories one way or another."
Usually, Ashton doesn't talk to anyone. The only ones he would speak to are his siblings. That's because Skyler Ashton Potter cannot tell a lie. The only way to keep his sister's secret was to stop talking to people that were not Harry Potter or Alyssa Potter.
Alyssa placed her head on Ashton's chest, having her brother wrapped his arms around her. They stayed like this until someone came knocking on the door. The siblings turned towards the door to see it open and Harry standing there with a tiny smile on his face.
"They are taking Dudley to the zoo and cannot leave us behind," Harry told them with a bit of excitement in his face. The other two Potters got out of the bed quickly, knowing this is pretty much the first time the Dursleys ever took the Potter triplets out into public with them. The triplets raced out of the house and slipped into the car. Everyone, bar Vernon, were quiet in the car. Vernon was talking about a lot of things — well, more like complaining. His most complaints were about the Potter Triplets. Alyssa lay her head on Ashton's shoulder while taking Harry's hand. They all decided to ignore their uncle since he was always complaining about them.
The Potter triplets thought it was going to be a normal day — but when it comes to the Potters, nothing is normal. It started normal until they got to the reptiles. Harry and Ashton were in front of a snake that their uncle and cousin were bored with. It was because the fellow was fast asleep. Right when the two left, the snake lifted it head up, looking at the Potter boys. Harry and Ashton glanced at each other confused before glancing back at the snake. Before either boy could react, the snake wink. Only Harry looked around quickly to see if anyone (besides Ashton) was watching. They weren't. He looked back at the snake and winked, too.
Ashton stood there, watching Harry and the snake when it jerked its head toward Vernon and Dudley, then raised its eyes towards the ceiling. Ashton didn't understand what the snake was trying to say, but Harry seemed to understand since it gave Harry a look that said quite plainly: "I get that all the time."
"I know," Harry murmured through the glass, though he wasn't sure if the snake could hear him, "It must be really annoying."
Ashton stood there, wide eyed. His brother — his three minutes older brother was speaking with a snake, who seemed to understand Harry like Harry could understand him. To Harry, it sounds like English. To Ashton, it was just hissing sounds. Ashton wasn't stupid, he knew there was something different about him and his siblings. First, Alyssa can shift into a wolf during the full moon. Second, Ashton can see into the future and only can tell the truth about everything. And now this. They were not normal and Ashton knew this.
What are we? Ashton thought to himself, watching Harry speaking with a snake.
However, Harry couldn't speak with the snake much before Harry was shoved out the way and right into his brother. This made both Harry and Ashton timber to the ground. Both boys looked to notice their cousin was pushing his face against the glass. Harry narrowed his eyes before they widened, along with Ashton's eyes. One minute the glass was there. The next it was gone. Dudley fell into the water while the snake slithered off, hissing towards Harry. Harry's and Ashton's eyes followed the snake before they glanced over at Dudley.
Now, the glass was back and Dudley was stuck. Of course, all three Potters were to blame for it, and the Potter triplets didn't know why either. Especially Alyssa, since she was near Petunia the whole time it happened.
After getting Dudley out of the trunk, the family left the zoo and Vernon sent the Potter triplets to the cupboard. Laying in complete darkness, Ashton had his hands underneath his head while his siblings were cuddling against him, fast asleep. Ashton started to think to himself about the question he asked himself. What were they? They are humans, but different from the rest. It wasn't just Alyssa turning into a wolf, Ashton seeing the future, and Harry talking to snakes. There were much, much more. One time Harry got in trouble for being on top of the school after being chased by Dudley and his gang. But Harry didn't know how he got up there. Alyssa was getting bullied in school since she could never have a father-daughter dance. The other girls' hair was either a disgusting green color or it fell out. And then there was Ashton. He got in trouble when he told Vernon he wasn't getting a promotion since he saw it not happening, which Vernon didn't get the promotion the next day. Everytime something happened, the triplets were the ones blamed and they never understood why either.
Ashton sighed quietly, closing his eyes. He, along with his siblings, pray every day for someone — anyone to get them away from the Dursleys forever.
