Author's Note: Diary Entry.
Today is an important day. It is okaa-san's birthday. My older sister and I want to make a cake for her, so this morning we went to the supermarket to buy some ingredients for making a cake.
After we got home, we got started in the kitchen. It's not very difficult to make a cake. First you mix flour, butter, eggs and sugar together. Then you put it in the oven. You only need to bake it for 20 minutes or until cooked. While we were making the cake, we heard the door open. It was otou-san arriving home. He bought a bouquet of flowers for okaa-san. Mom was really, really happy about it. To celebrate her birthday, otou-san not only pan-fried steaks for everyone but also boiled noodles.
After eating dinner, we ate cake and drank soda. Okaa-san said the cake we made is better than the ones she's made. This evening our whole family was happy. I feel really happy because me and my sister enjoyed baking the cake and our parents were happy with it. I hope every birthday is spent like this!
