Commanding Performance
Chapter One
Leroy Jethro Gibbs had gone finishing once again in the main lake that he had first started with for when he moved to Naktok Bay, Alaska. He had gotten a phone call from Director Leon Vance telling him about the last few cases that his former team had been on.
Sitting in the small boat that he had refurnished with friends from the local region of the harbor. He had finished up his third Bourbon in his hand while his fishing pole and the bobber hasn't moved at all for the past 30 minutes.
Temperatures for the past few hours in the low thirties. He was wearing his white turtleneck sweater with his black leather jacket.
Hearing a voice calling out to him. He had never expected to see Special Agent Nicholas Torres in the neck of his woods. "Hey, Gibbs, is it alright that I come on board the Crystal Light?" Torres noted with his comment to his former boss and close friend.
Turning to face Torres with a half-crooked smile. Leroy Jethro Gibbs will say the following. "Of course, you can Nick. Would you care for Bourbon in a cold glass?" he says picking up the half-empty bottle.
"Sure in order to warm me up Gibbs. Thanks," he said climbing his legs over the column of the boat.
Gibbs grabs an empty glass to pour the cold bourbon while saying. "What's going on Torres to have you here in the first place?"
Torres took the Bourbon glass from him with an exhale telling him the following. "There is a murder investigation going on back in Washington, D.C. and it involves McGee having been indicted for the shooting of Senator Johnson of Washington, D.C., and Director Vance is unable to help him at this particular time since Senator Johnson is a close friend of his and he had to pull out due to his friendship. He asked me since you know the senator as well to see if you're able to help McGee out." Nick cries out with his comment to Gibbs finishing up the last of his bourbon.
With the shake of his head..."And you think that McGee had been set up for when it comes to the death of Senator Johnson?"
"Yes, Gibbs. I am the rest of the team and including Special Agent Alden Parker is trying to play it cool for the most part. He had told me that a few years back that he and his partner were investigating allegations that Senator Johnson just might be taking bribes from the local mob. But was never able to get close to them with pulling out with orders from his own director Sweeney."
"What is it you want me to do Nick?" Gibbs asked trying to keep his voice low and his demeanor.
