Ok so how action duels will work is that action cards from every action field are useable in any field. That way there's more risk involved when characters get 1. It also makes the action duels work like hunger games. This will show in this chapter. Cards will be using their anime effects and names and if not then I'm using their OCG names and effects.
Unprepared
"Hello?" Sawatari said not expecting the call.
"Sawatari where are you?" Hokuto shouted. "You were supposed to be here 20 minutes ago." Hokuto explained.
"For what?" Sawatari stupidly asked.
"For our duel!" Hokuto yelled out. Hokuto was about to continue speaking but Sawatari had to pick up another call.
"Hey Sawatari can I have back those pendulum cards you borrowed from me which I borrowed from Teppei?" Michio to Sawatari's surprised asked. Sawatari told him that he would give the cards back to him at his restaurant while he walks to duel Hokuto.
After a couple of minutes. He went to Michio's main restaurant and gave him back Teppei's pendulum cards. Then he was on his way to the LDS school duelling arena. The someone else showed up.
"Hey so did you ever find out who posted that picture of us?" Meira asked.
"Ahh ok ok how many people do I have to deal with today." Sawatari asked loudly. "Not quite it got reposted like mad but the closet is that it was starred in an advertisement." Sawatari mentioned as he then realised who most likely may have took it.
"Dammit why did he have to do that!" Meira shouted. Sawatari releasing he had a duel to get and could not want anymore distractions said
"Ok you can take out your anger but first you wouldn't happen to have your deck on you?" Sawatari. Meira nodded then asked why. Sawatari then asked if he could borrow a few cards. Meira rejected the idea. Sawatari then promised that he would get her a single autograph of Yuya. Meira the agreed but made sure Sawatari would take good care of them and to make sure of it she would watch his duel.
Sawatari seems to not know how to handle situations well. They (after some time). Mostly Sawatari though finally made it to the arena.
"What took you so long you were supposed to be here an hour ago." Yaiba angrily asked.
"Well, you see I ran into some issues and Meira here needed me to win her back her cards which she will let me use during this duel and this duel only." Sawatari carefully lied to everyone. Despite everyone knowing he's bluffing they proceeded with the duel.
"The action field will be using is Cosmic sanctuary." Hokuto stated. Sawatari disagreed and wanted to use prison tower dark will. They flipped a coin from Meira called and Sawatari lost.
Turn 1 Sawatari's hand 5. Hokuto's hand 5. Life points were on 4000 for both.
Sawatari starts off and plays the spell card Yokai Shrine of Trials. Everyone was surprised that he would use that card.
"Yeah I'm using a different deck with some different cards but it's more than enough to beat you." Sawatari gloated. He then normal summoned Yosenju Kamaitachi it allowed him to summon another Yosenju monster then that monster allowed him to summon another Yosenju monster. 3 candles lit up. 1 for each monster.
Then he activated pot of greed. Then drew 2 cards. He then activated a new card to replace one of the old cards which was Spring of Elements. Then he activated his Yokai Shrine of Trials effect which let him blow out 3 candles to add a Yosenju card from his deck to his hand then he chose Yosenju Oyam.
"Neo New Sawatari-san being put ur strong pendulum monster our already!" Yamabe cheered.
"Just be patient." Sawatari calmly responding. "I which I kept those cards but this deck is still pretty powerful." Sawatari thought as he ended his turn making all his Yosenju monsters from his files to his hand. "My other spell activates which makes it so I gain 500 life points whenever a monsters is sent from the field to the hand." Sawatari explained to Hokuto who was trying to look for an action card.
Turn 2 Sawatari's life points 5500. Hokuto's 4000. Sawatari's hand is 6 and Hokuto's hand is 5.
Sawatari whished he used the Spring of Rebirth during his duel against Yuya the second time. Hokuto drew then he normal summoned Sacred Pollux.
"Now I'll activate its effect where I can normal summon another Sacred monster and I'll chose to normal summon out Sacred Gredi!" Hokuto's announced. A monster on armour then appeared out with 1600 attack and 1400 defence. Hokuto then activated Sacred Gredi's effect which allowed him to special summon one level 4 or lower Sacred monster.
He chose to normal summon out Sacred Kaust. Then he activated that monsters effect where up to twice per turn he target a Sacred monster and worthier increase its level by 1 or decrease it by 1. He then made all his monsters except Kaust gain a level.
"Hm let me guess your gonna XYZ summon not surprised as predictable as usual." Sawatari told Hokuto.
"Well if it works the way I want it to and it will you'll surprised soon enough." Hokuto replied. "I overlay my 2 level 5 monsters to build the overlay network." Hokuto stated as everyone got ready for his big summon. "Light of the stars, descend and shake this very earth! Xyz Summon! Rank 5! Sacred Pleiades!" Hokuto chanted.
"Hokuto great job getting our your main monster now finish off Sawatari." Yaiba shouted from the viewing area. Hokuto then activated his XYZ monster's effect by detaching 1 XYZ material he can return 1 card from the field and he chose to return Sawatari's Yokai Shrine of Trials.
"Your not the only 1 who can make cards go back to the hand." Hokuto's stated. Hokuto then ordered his Rank 5 Sacred Pleiades to attack.
"Action card time!" Sawatari celebrated with a smile. He then found one and was about to use Evasion but Hokuto's activated an action card of his own known as Cosmo Arrow which made the card be shown then it got destroyed. Sawatari was stunned then he quickly activated Yosenju Oyam's effect to special summon onto the field in attack position he just had to discard a Yosenju card first and he chose to discard Yosenju Kama 1. Hokuto then attacked.
"Now my monsters effect activates it gain the current attack and defence equal to the monster that attacks it." Sawatari explained. Both monsters were destroyed. Then activated Yosenju Oyam's effect when it's sent to the graveyard, he can add any Yosenju card from his deck to his hand.
"Now he must have a pendulum card." Kakimoto said. He then added another Yosenju Oyam. He then told them that he has a new strategy using his old deck not warning to admit his pendulum cards were taken off him. Hokuto then attacked with Sacred Kaus. Dealing Sawatari 1800 points of damage to his life points.
"I still have life points left and plenty of cards to deal with you." Sawatari whimpered. Hokuto then set a card and ended his turn.
Turn 3 Sawatari's life points 3700. Hokuto's 4000. Sawatari's hand 6. Hokuto's hand 2.
Sawatari drew one of Meira's cards. He then activated Yokai Shrine of Trials again. Then normal summoned out Yosenju Kamanitachi and Kamamitachi. Then 2 candles lit up from his Yosenju spell. Then he used Yokai Shrine of Trials effect which let him blow out one candle and make all his Yosneju monsters on the field gain 300 attack and defence. He then attacked with Yosenju Kamanitachi and destroyed Hokuto's monster then he attacked Yosenju Kamamitachi dealing him 1800 points of damage.
Due to Yosenju Kamamitachi's effect he got to add a Yosenju card whenever it does battle damage. He chose to add another Yosenju Kamaitachi. He then ended his turn and all his monsters returned back again to his hand and so were his life points. About 500 for each.
Turn 4 Sawatari's life points 4200. Hokuto's life points 1900. Sawatari's hand 7. Hokuto's hand 3.
"Hokuto how can you be loosing to Sawatari of all people." Masumi shouted. "You better have a back up plan otherwise your paying for lunch." She then said as Hokuto drew.
"Watch this then guys I'll activate my set card monster reborn to bring back my Sacred Pleiades." Hokuto announced. He then played Pot of Greed. Then drew 2.
Then he played he played Graceful Charity. He drew 3 but then discarded 2 cards. He then activated the card Super-Rebirth of the Sacred. He then added Sacred Gredi and Sacred Kaust. He then normal summoned out Sacred Gredi which allowed him to special summon a level 4 Sacred monster and chose that monster to be Sacred Kaust
He then activated Twinkle Sacred to increase the level of 1 sacred monster by 2. Then he activated another Twinkle Sacred to do the same thing but for his other main deck monster.
"Now I XYZ summon to bring out my rank 6 Sacred Ptolemys Messier 7." Hokuto annouced. He then activated the spell Sacred Tempest. He then ended his turn which activates the spell's effect which made Sawatari loose half his life points as long as he had 2 Sacred XYZ monsters out.
Turn 5 Sawatari's life points 2100. Hokuto's 1900. Hokuto's hand 3. Sawatari's hand 5.
"You made a mistake in not allowing yourself to attack." Sawatari gloated as he drew. He then activated his spell Foolish Burial which allowed him to send a monster card from his deck to the graveyard and he chose the card Prediction Princess Coinorma.
That card confused some people. Kakimoto then asked why Meira let him use 1 of her cards. Meira then told them honestly that he was a few cards short and then added a couple more cards.
"I guess you weren't lying about using a different deck." Hokuto noted. Sawatari really hoped no one would catch on and realise he doesn't have his pendulum cards on him. He then set 1 card and ended his turn.
"Hey your ripping my strategy off!" Meira shouted from a far.
"Take it like a really backhanded compliment." Sawatari replied he then ended his turn. But before he did, he used another action card known as Flame Guard which prevent him from taking effect damage. Which prevents Hokuto's effect damage plan.
Turn 6 Sawatari's lifepoints 2100. Hokuto's 1900. Sawatari's hand was 4. Hokuto's 3.
He drew. Then he activated his Rank 6 XYZ's monster's effect where by detaching 1 material he can return any card from the field to the hand. Sawatari's spell did activated making him gain life points but it didn't do much.
Sawatari ran and tried to find the nearest action card. Luckily he did and it was the action card Miracle. Which the battle damage he took from his Sacred Ptolemys Messier 7 half. Making him loose 1350 instead but that monster can't be destroyed by battle however.
He then tried to find another action card and he did this time it was the action spell Evasion letting his other monster's attack be negated.
"Fine then I guess I'll just end my turn." Hokuto evilly said. Then Sawatari looking as smug as ever then took damage from his spell from before.
Turn 7 Sawatari's life points 375. Hokuto's 1900. Sawatari's hand 4. Hokuto's 4.
"I don't think I've ever seen life points like this before." Meira said.
"That's because you've never seen Hokuto duel when his opponent isn't taking it seriously." Yaiba told her.
"While Sawatari was there making a a fool of himself trying to entertain us Hokuto has been thinking about various ways he could counter him." Masumi stated.
Sawatari drew then normal summoned out all his level 4 Yosenju monsters back out again. Then his Yokai Shrine of Trials gained 3 more candles. He then used its effect to blow 1 out to make his monsters gain 300. He then attacked directly with Yosenju Kamanitachi thanks to its effect but the damage would then be cut in half. But Hokuto activated his own Evasion.
He then tried to use another 1 of Meira's cards Cup of Ace. Called it and called it wrong and hand Hokuto draw 2 cards instead.
"I'm never letting him use my cards ever again." Meira said.
Sawatari then ended his turn but got to recover some life points. Then he used the action spell Broken Ruin. Which made Hokuto loose life points equal to the number difference between the 2's hands times 300. Making Hokuto loose 600. Sawatarin then lost half of his due Hokuto's Sacred Temple.
Sawatari's life points 925. Hokuto's 1300. Sawatari's hand 4. Hokuto's 6.
The duel was going to end soon and Sawatari knew it. Ready to admit deafeat he told Hokuto that even if lost the duel it was still fun though.
"That may be but for a while I really thought you were about to win after all that talk about vowing revenge on Yuya for apparently making you a bad duellist but after seeing how you duelled today; I find that hard to believe." Hokuto said. "I'll tell you what I tried to tell Yuya long ago if you should treat dulling like a business then you'll always have success." Hokuto's then said.
Sawatari really didn't know how to react to that. Was his dueltainment a waste? Was focussing on that the reason why he lost so much? So many questions ran into him again. Except this time he chose to ignore it.
"Well then let's spice things up a bit if you're so going to have success in this duel then how about a little wager I'll jump of this tower and as I fall down, you'll win this duel before I land on my own 2 feet." Sawatari wagered.
"What does he think he's doing?" Masumi asked.
"Oh yeah Neo New Sawatari-san has to be doing something smart." Yamabe pointed out.
"Like that ever happens." The 3 duellists who have more than 1 duel all said at the same time.
Sawatari then reached for an action card but it got destroyed by Cosmic Arrow. Sawatari was the saved by Hokuto's rank 6 XYZ monster.
"Huh you saved me!" Sawatari said. Which made Masumi remember a really fond memory.
"Of course, I did." Hokuto's said only to be followed by an order to attack him directly. Sawatari screamed in pain. Masumi was glad Yuzu didn't try to do that or left her to fall.
"Nice one Hokuto." Yaiba said as the duel ended and the holograms faded out. Hokuto still shook his hand for a good game.
"And loser pays for the dinner." Masumi said.
"Alright fine but can I have a minute or 2 to lay down and don't get too much the 3 of you." Sawatari slowly said. Not realising his friends and Meira also wanted to join in too. "At least I won the wager." Sawatari last said before he collapsed.
