This is a bonus chapter, that it wasn't going to be written, until I started talking with Ash and we couldn't stop imagining Charlie babysitting the girls lol I hope you enjoy this, as much as I enjoyed imagining Grandpa Charlie as a Cop Princess
Charlie closed the door, and looked at the two little girls in front of him. He was used to taking care of Giovanna, as in one little girl, but he knew he would be able to take care of both Giovanna and Maya. How hard could it be to take care of two four-year-old girls?
"Can we have a princess tea party, Grandpa?" Giovanna asked, battling her eyes and pouting, and Charlie was a goner. "Maya never had one! We need to do something!"
"Please, Mr Charlie?" Maya asked with her big brown eyes and pouting too, and Charlie felt his heart melting at the sight.
"You don't need to beg, we can have a tea party," Charlie said and the girls yelled in happiness. "And you can call me Grandpa too, Maya."
'The way things are going, I don't doubt I would be her grandpa for real,' Charlie thought, looking at Maya and Giovanna babbling non-stop. 'Bella can't yell at me about things she doesn't know.'
Giovanna was pulling Maya towards her room, and Charlie was following the two hooligans towards Giovanna's room. Bella already had set a small table, with teacups, a teapot and snacks for the girls.
"We need to dress up," Giovanna demanded, walking towards a chest on the corner. "Come, Maya!"
"Be gentle, Gio," Charlie reminded her, knowing how demanding she can be. "What are you wearing?"
Giovanna grabbed three tutus, and three feather boas while Maya grabbed crowns and walked towards the table.
"We are princesses!" Maya said gleefully, to which Giovanna nodded. "You need a crown, Grandpa."
Charlie wearily grabbed the crown Maya was giving him, but one look at the little girl's face and he put the damn crown.
"Here, Grandpa," Giovanna said, giving him a pink tutu and a feather purple boa. "You're a cop princess."
He grinned at what Giovanna called him, and he would be the best cop princess in the world. Maya was wearing a light blue tutu with a feather pink boa, while Giovanna was wearing a purple tutu with a feather yellow boa, and of course, both girls were wearing crowns.
"It looks like we're ready to have a tea party," Charlie said, watching the duo twirling around in her tutus. "What do you say, princess Gio and princess Maya?"
"Yes, please!" Maya and Giovanna yelled and Charlie couldn't stop smiling for the rest of the night.
Charlie was having fun with those two little girls, even if the feather boa was itching. He could understand why the two girls wanted to become sisters, and if he had any say in it, he was going to help them.
"Can you sleep here?" Giovanna asked Maya, looking at him with those eyes that reminded him of Bella. "Please, Grandpa?"
"You two need to ask your parents first, but I think we can arrange it," Charlie said, knowing it would do good for them. He heard a car coming into the driveway. "It looks like they come back home."
Charlie stood up and walked towards the door, forgetting for a second what he was wearing. He opened the door, surprising Bella and Paul wearing a pink tutu, the itching purple feather boa and the crown Maya insisted he wore.
"It looks like you had fun, Dad," Bella said, trying to contain her laughter, but failing miserably.
"I had fun," Charlie deadpanned, managing to still look scary while looking like a princess. "When is your man bringing her back?"
'Two can play this game, Bella, and I bet that I'm a better player at it than you are,' Charlie was fighting a smile, seeing Bella fidget and Paul's self-assuring smile.
"Let's see, Dad. Can you bring the girls? So I can say goodbye to Paul without an audience?" Bella looked at him, while he just smirked at her.
"Sure. You two take your time, while I'll go finish tea with my granddaughters," Charlie replied, closing the door on their faces.
"Giovanna, Maya, your parents are here!" Charlie called them, smiling seeing them running towards him with smiles on their faces. "What do you say about taking a picture with me, while we're looking our best?"
"Yay!" the two of them yelled and Charlie's smile widened. He couldn't wait to call Maya his granddaughter for real.
"Jones, can you come here?" Charlie asked one of the IT guys from the station the next day.
"Yes, chief?" Jones asked, coming to his office. "There's something you need?"
"Can you show me how to print this picture? I want to frame it and put it on my desk." Charlie showed the pic he took with Maya and Giovanna, the three of them smiling big. "These are my granddaughters."
"You look like a princess, Chief," Jones mocked, before sobering over Charlie's look. "I thought you only had one granddaughter?"
"I'm certain of my masculinity, Jones, and if it made my girls smile, I would be the best princess cop in the world," Charlie deadpanned, smiling remembering the tea party. "And I only have one granddaughter officially, but I'm waiting for my daughter to understand I have two granddaughters now."
Charlie smiled, while Jones taught him how to print the pic. He was going to make two other copies, and would think the best moment to give it to Giovanna and Maya.
He had a feeling Maya and Paul weren't going anywhere, and he couldn't wait for more tea parties in his future.
