A/N: first of all. thank you for reading the prologue. I at first just wrote this in the hopes to get past my writers block. but now it has waaay to much traction for me to just leave it now. so I will actually continue this one. beginning with this chapter. if you find any grammar and/or spelling mistakes, please let me know, since english is not my native language. also in the prologue I actually made a mistake in my spreatsheet for the stats so at the bottom you will find a sheet with all of his current stats.

Chapter 1: the tip of the spear

"Mmmmmmm" I groan at the message. Just when I want to go back to sleep
A voice calls out to me
"Wakey, wakey. It's time to wake up." says an almost recogniseable female voice.
"Don't wanna…." I mutter as if I was a 8 year old kid that just wanted to sleep for 5 more minutes. But then a second voice almost shouts so low and rough at me with what can only be described as deep as the ocean. "Wake up, RIGHT NOW!"
I open my eyes slowly and let them slowly adjust to my surroundings. The first thing I notice is the spear pointed at me right in my face.
My eyes shoot open in fear and see a water tribe warrior holding said spear. I look around slowly so the guard doesn't stab me and see that I'm in the spirit oasis. I then look at myself and see that I am in fact wearing no clothes at all….
"Well this is embarrassing" I say half to myself, half to the guard.
The guard just looked at me with steel eyes. Then he says "don't move."
"Fine, fine. Fine by me." I said calmly trying to defuse the situation.
We were at this silent stalemate for about the longest 5 minutes of my life before what looked like a chief walked in. "Thank you, Anok. I will have it from here" the 'chief' says.
"So that's his name." I muse. Then continue "sorry, that was rude. my name is Yanik, Yanik Moonshadow". the words just left my mouth before I could even think (guess that what that charisma stat does.) I'm thinking. not noticing the shocked look of the chief. "How do you know that name?" the Chief asks. "What name?" I shot back, not understanding his question at all. "Moonshadow" Chief says "that is or rather was the last name of Yue. my daughter."
Ice ran down my spine. (shit. Shit. shit shitshitshitshitshitshitshitshit! Gotta think excuses fast) I think in full panic. Then a lightbulb hit and I calm down. "You know mom?" I ask lying through my teeth.
Charisma check: Speculative Lie: needs cha: 18-3(due to likelihood) = 15+ Cha stat 23. lie passed successful(in full)
"Mom?!" the Chief says surprised, almost asking. "Your Yue's son?" he asks, still freaked out "but you look like an adult. Almost the same age as her." the chief says in almost full disbelief. (If I didn't know the lie passed. I would have a nervous breakdown right about now.) "The time is weird back home. Mama always says that." I lie once more to drive it home hopefully.
Charisma check: Plausible Lie: needs 20 - 8 {due to half truth} = 12+. Cha stats 23. lie passed successful(in full)
"Back home?... But Yue is one with the…" The chief finally realizes what I tried to say/Lie. Then I heard that same female voice from when I woke up "It's not nice to lie, my little boy" I can only roll my eyes when I hear that last part. "I know mother" I say as I walk towards the little pond. Kneeling in front of it. Anok immediately points his spear at me, but is forced to stand down at the Chief's behest. "My apologies, my grandson. I should have known when they described your appearance." the Chief says. "My appearance? You mean my white hair? It's the same as my mother. Is it special?" I ask innocently, knowing damn well the importance.
"That, it is." the chief says "But where are my manners?" he continues. "My name is Arnook. Arnook Moonstide. I'm your grandfather."
My brain crashed for a second before 'gamers mind activated' happened. Removing the stress immediately
"You're my grandfather?" I ask curiously. Letting the hair question go for later. And then stated "But you have a different last name. How does that work?"
Arnook actually smiles and the more I look. The more I realize that this is not a cartoon. The details are too life-like. Arnook his Smile was the first thing that made me look past the known that was the cartoon I knew and LOVE. After a couple of seconds I look back at Arnook and see him waiting patiently for me to come back to reality. With my focus back he answers my question
"When people in our tribe marry, the last names of the children are combined from the parents' names. My wife's name is Ella Nightshadow. So Yue her last name became Moonshadow" He says calm and slowly. Letting it sink in for a few seconds he continues "but when only one parent is found. Like by my daughter, your mother, the full last name is inherited. Do you know Who your father is?"
"I see." I said mulling over this newfound knowledge. Before shaking my head and saying "No, I don't know who he is. I just know that he's human since I'm a half spirit, half human." The second I say that last part, Arnook Looked terrified. "Are you here for revenge?" He asks hesitantly.
"What? No!" I say confused. "Why would I want revenge? You have done nothing to anger me." and with that he visibly relaxed. "Good. That's good. I thought for a second that was the case since we failed to protect the moon and ocean spirit." he says, standing up and pulling me up with him. As he does that I quickly remember that I have the Gamer ability.

I equipped everything except not the commander's armor since I wanted to keep that a secret for now and also as not to raise hostility. The clothes appeared out of nowhere and hugged my body immediately. Anok who walks beside me now looks surprised at the sudden appearance of my clothes and then in awe as if it was spirit 'magic'. "Something caught your fancy Anok?" Chief Arnook asks without even needing to look back, he says. "Did my grandson just do spirit magic?" he finally stops realizing what he just has said and turns and sees me fully dressed. "Ah… so he did," Arnook says with a little hint of wonder in his eyes. While we walked into the city I look around and see only frightened people. "What happened here?" I must have looked weird because Chief Arnook let out a dry chuckle. Covering his mouth as not to show it. Then he looks saddened and he says somber "War. The Fire Nation attacked us a few days ago. People are still quite shaken about it." After that titbit we walk in silence towards the chief's home. MY new home. When we arrive I see Ella for the first time ever standing arms crossed in the door. She looks like a woman in her forties…..ish. Long twin braided oakbrown wears practically the same clothes any waterbender wears in the series but hers is embroidered with a million little waves. I quickly look away. hoping I didn't offend her. Arnook kisses his wife and then he says "this here is Yanik." he then pauses, unsure how and if to continue. I finish Arnook's sentence with "Yanik Moonshadow. It's a pleasure meeting you ma'am." I bow slightly and by the time I look back up I find myself in the tightest hug I have ever felt. I am then let inside and Ella asks a million questions. I answer most of them quite simply. Then Arnook asks "are you a water bender? I saw your pouch." and then he pointed at my pouch. (Eeeehm. Help… oh right 'status')

Coming back to reality I answer with a dry "yeah. But I'm not all that good yet."
"Will let Paku know he will have a new student soon then" Ella says confidant.
"Can I start tomorrow? I don't want to sit around doing nothing." I say sheepishly.
"That won't work. He'll already have 2 new students tomorrow. Can you do anything else besides water bending?" Arnook asks then receives an elbow to his ribs from Ella.
"That's just rude, Arnook" Ella says then turns to me "I'm sorry about that."
"It's fine." I mutter, "I can shoot a bow. I think I will just practice that tomorrow." The rest of the evening went by fairly uneventful. After dinner Ella shows me my bedroom. Before Ella goes back she says "If you don't mind, we need you to come to the chieftains counsel tomorrow at sunset. We need to have everyone know your position as our heir.". After leaving that bombshell of a topic and saying goodnight, I walk to my bed and sit on the side of my bed and start to think. (wonder if this would be a dream? Meh. if it is, it is one hell of a nice one. If it isn't, then this is even better.) I then ponder (Now that I think about today. I wonder if I should have chosen that all elements perk…. On the one hand, it would give me avatar-like abilities. On the other hand, It would very likely give me Aang's job as an avatar even if I'm technically not an Avatar.)I paused weighing these options. After a couple seconds I say out loud. "No, I think this was a wise choice not to have Aang his Insane job as lone world peace keeper." after a couple more thoughts about who I would like in my own party similar to the Gaang. "Man, it sucks that Ty Lee would be impossible to get in my own party…." After that, sleep took me quickly.
The following morning as soon as the sun appears in the sky I wake up to a familiar screen

"I wonder where the shooting range is" I ask the air. I flinch as I hear suddenly.
Open -map- to check scouted surroundings. (Okeeeej?...) I think, still not fully awake.
"Map" I say and to my amazement , a 2d map appears with a detailed description of every home I walked past yesterday, shaking all sleep out of me. After searching for the shooting range for a minute. I find a barracks with one next to it. I put on the same shirt and pants and walk to the door, only to find Ella cooking. Ella must have heard me come out of my room and she asks "want some breakfast? I got some leftover stew from yesterday." While I pick a bowl and pour some stew in it, some of the stew falls on my fingers, burning them. "Auw!" I say while letting go of my bowl, almost dropping it if not for the fact that I waterbend a small table underneath it catching said bowl. "I wonder if I can heal this?" I ponder out loud. I pull some water from the ice from the 'ground' of our house and put it around my fingers. I close my eyes and focus on healing the burns. I hear the sound of a popup from Gase but I keep my focus until I don't feel my fingers burning anymore. I open my eyes and see three things. One is that Ella looks at me with concern. The second thing is that my hands are fully healed. The third thing is that popup

After breakfast and reassuring Ella that I'm fine I left to the barracks for practice. It would be a one hour walk. The first half hour goes by relaxing and quiet and is over quite quickly. Mostly just people looking wary at me from the corners of their homes and occasionally quietly remarking that I look like Yue's kid. After that I Stop for half an hour to watch Katara beating a male student of Pakku with absolute ease in a mock duel. After that little display of force. I try to go on. Pakku sees me leave and quickly bends A wall of ice in place of the entrance. "Leaving so soon?" Pakku says almost mockingly. "Yes," I respond calmly, not even turning towards Pakku. Instead I use my own bending to make a hole in 'his' wall.
"I am not even supposed to bend water yet anyway, not until tomorrow at least." I say, giving a hint to Pakku. "Ah…. so you are THAT new student" Pakku says calmly leaving a heavy emphasis on 'that'. Before continuing "the one that is supposed to be the son of Yue."
Both the male student as well as Katara's eyes widened at that revelation. "That is me, yes. It sounds like you have a problem with that." I say, hoping for a response from Katara, but Pakku breaks her off before even the first word leaves her mouth. "No, no problem. But I was surprised" he thinks and then continues after a second. "Just a surprise, after all, she was not yet old enough to have a child of teachable age. Let alone someone like you. How old are you? 20? 25?" Pakku guesses. "I am 20." I answer all the while Pakku is closing the hole faster than I can open it. Irritated, I turn around knowing full well that my hole was a losing battle. I hear just when I stop a ping

He then lowers his hand the wall of ice melt and simply disappears as if it was never there. When I walk outside towards the barracks, just out of earshot Pakku says quietly "my my, that kid's strong."
After I arrive at the barracks and try to find a spot where I can get a bow and where exactly the shooting range is. Picking a bow from one of the racks I walk over and start to shoot at the targets. I shoot the targets for about an hour, ignoring the about 8 pings about my bow skill and my level when I hear a whistle from behind. "What has that snowman ever done to piss you off like that?" The targets were snowmen wearing old fire nation armor.
"They look at me funny." I answer with a sassy smile. I then turn to see who it is and I look Anok straight into his eyes. He breaks eye contact and says, "you do know that, right now, you are the best marksman on the north pole." I raise an eyebrow at the statement. "Really? I doubt it." I say with a genuine smile "really." Anok looks up and says with a straight, almost militaristic face. "I was the best one here. But you shoot the targets as easily as you breathe. As quickly as you breathe as well". "Thank you…." I say at the flattery. I then see a screen reading
