Actually, Kate Beckett was indeed asleep in bed. She was sleeping on the opposite side of the bed, while Castle was being quiet by getting out of his clothes and into his black shorts since it was warm in the room.
He really needed to turn on the air conditioning to cool it down slightly until he was able to fall asleep. Getting under one blanket while listening to his wife sleeping and slightly snoring away. She had no idea that her husband was in bed with her.
After a few moments of laying in bed. He was able to fall asleep without any trouble at all. Even though the next day he's going to be once again busy with two book tours and checking in with the 12th precinct in regard to a new body that will be found on the outskirts of the Hudson river.

Johan had an agenda after waking up in the morning in bed. He had another one of his urges to kill and he found one down by the Hudson river as a young woman fishing with her pole trying to catch anything.
Nancy Malone ex-lawyer now divorced with no children decided to head down to the Hudson river with her fishing pole, bucket, and bait filled with worms.
It was slightly chilly for a very early morning. When Johan arrived in his vehicle was able to see his target. She had as well as at one of Richard Castle's book tours the past few days.
Moving out of his vehicle with gathering his equipment, and gloves to be used on his latest target. Nancy Malone a lover of mystery novels was standing with her pole as she had thrown it out into the waters while she will wait for a bite from any type of fish lurking about.
However, she didn't realize that her life was in danger when all of a sudden Johan pounced on the woman by placing a rope around her neck she fell to the ground as he suck the life out of her until her last breath was taken.
Smirking about on his face. He will then pull out his knife to begin craving away her body until he was finally done with his victim leaving the body to head back to his vehicle removing his gloves. It will be the same with his clothes placing the pants and jacket into a plastic bag to be thrown into a garbage bin elsewhere for now.
