Momonga sat on his grand obsidian throne. It towered everything else in the hall of the throne room of Nazarick.
11:55:37
The overlord looked up at the forty one flags hanging from dark steel poles. His mind began to wander. Where did it all go wrong? When had he said the wrong words, took the wrong steps? Momonga sighed, here he was in an empty tomb with forgotten husks.
"Goodbye Yggdrasil." He couldn't help but remember Herohero who had just left. This was their home too! How could they just leave this, him?! "Fuck! When and where are we supposed to meet again?!"
11:59:50
Momonga let out a huff of disappointment, not sure who it was directed to. This was it, the game he'd spent an entire decade on was finally ending.
11:59:55
Even now, he could still hear the phantoms of yesterday. Of Ainz Ooal Gown. He looked towards the flags once more. Bukubukuchagama.
"I'm sorry."

[•••]
"Momonga? Momonga! C'mon let's get going." Touch Me stood gallantly in front of him, sword and shield in hand as another set of explosions went off in the background.
The golden sun pierced through the foliage, giving light to the dank undergrowth. Right, the jungles of Asgard.
"Ah right. Thanks Touch-san." Momonga slowly stood up, dusting off dirt on his legendary robes. What was that about? He was sitting in an empty hall? Everyone in Nine's Own Goal left? Impossible, they would never leave him, he hoped.
Shaking his head and clearing his mind, Momonga reanalyzed his environment. Ulbert flew above crowds of low level enemies. Giant Salamanders and Venomous Tree Frogs surrounded him.
"Grand Fireball!" A slightly bigger orb of flame appeared in Ulbert Alain Odle's hand and shot away. It slammed into a snake and then erupted, clearing away a large area.
"Let's get going, Ulbert-san still needs help. I told him not to aggro everything and he still casted Nuclear Blast, tsk. If you can't kill everything in a single blast then why cast it and alert everything?!" Touch Me leapt into the mob and started hacking and slashing apart monster after monster.
Takemikazuchi stood back to back with Nishikienrai as a primal earth elemental towered over them and let out a deafening roar.
Deciding that Touch Me was going to be fine, Momonga didn't take a second and launched towards the ninja and samurai.
"Body of Effulgent Beryl! The Supreme Being protects!"
The stone fist crashed into the steadfast warrior. Momonga casted his spell just a moment before the giant elemental attacked Takemikazuchi, leaving the nephilim unfazed.
"Thanks Momonga-san! Could you support me while me and Nishikienrai-san take down this guy?"
Momonga scrolled through the four hundred spells he had amassed and chose the best appropriate for the situation.
"Grasp Heart! Now! It'll only be stunned for a moment."
Takemikazuchi calmly took in the directions and took out a small wooden stick from his inventory. Using his monstrous strength, it snapped as if it were made of foam and in his hands was a great and heavy hammer in place of his signature blade.
"Let's finish this, Nishikienrai!" The masterfully forged mallet glowed bright red. "Demonic Cult's Weapon Aura!"
The ninja pulled out a prototype weapon, a ninjato taller than its user and swung it. The gleaming, malicious silver blade moved at a snail's pace.
"Super Mega Team Duo Combo Attack: Susanoo no Mikoto!" Two voices cried out.
The two attacks hit the titan simultaneously and turned the ancient creature back into a pile of rubble. Bright red damage numbers floated overhead.
"Wow, I even got a core. Amanomahitotsu-san's going to be in my debt for weeks now!" Nishikienrai exclaimed.
Touch Me walked towards the group, covered in the gore of a giant frog before the blood and innards turned into dancing motes of light and vanished.
"We should help Peronroncino and Bukubukuchagama now." He glanced at the disaster likened serpent snapping its jaws at a comparatively tiny slime.
When he looked at Bukubukuchagama, large spider web patterns spread across the gold and rosy sky. When he glanced away, it vanished as if it were a simple illusion. The sky was whole once more, the perfect sunset was back.
What was that? I think there was something there? Why Bukubukuchagama? …What was I thinking about again?
Bukubukuchagama held onto her twin tower shields with a death-like grip. The great and terrible serpent thrashed about as it tried to evade the dozen arrows trying to blind it.
"Mass fly. Let's hurry." Momonga brought up his hands and layers upon layers of blue unknown runes encircled him. Rings overlayed rings, sparks of powerful magic danced at the center.
Momonga brought up an hourglass filled with green sand. He hesitated, after all, there was no guarantee that the devs would keep it in the gacha forever.
A mass of vibrant slime jumped in front of him. Deadly venom dripped onto the stone floor.
"What are you waiting for?! Kill it! I can't stay alive forever, you know?!"
Momonga hummed in intense thought as the hourglass shattered within his hand.
"I, The Final Supreme Being, Momonga, sentence thee to death! Sword of Damocles!"
While the spell was considered anti-structure, the creature's massive size would surely ensure heavy damage.
"Pin it down!"
Bukubukuchagama shouted at the trio sitting below. Using their superior numbers and speed, the clan members of Nine's Own Goal held down the beast. The enormous sword of heavens cleared the clouds and fell with the finality only an master executioner could.
In a single fell swoop, the head of the diabolical creature was cleaved off. The warriors below looted the corpse faster than Momonga could fly down, leaving nothing but a snow white skeleton.
Peronroncino gracefully glided towards the ground. His wings gave him the look of a divine being.
Ulbert joined the group through his final attack. "Maximize Widen Magic: Nuclear Blast! Die you insignificant worms!"
The last of the jungle animals were exterminated. Flames covered the vast jungle in a blink of an eye. Ulbert struck a pose like that of an evil villain believing they had just killed the hero.
"I will never bring any of you on a camping trip ever again." Touch Me glared at the group with immense fatherly disappointment. "Today was supposed to be a good day… Today, that deputy officer just ignored my orders! Can you believe him?!"
Takemikazuchi grinned, reached into a thunderous, cloudy portal. A crimson, long, flawless cape was held in Takemikazuchi's hands.
"I have changed my mind, today is a good day. Yes, a good day indeed where we did not burn down a jungle."
Ulbert grimaced as he watched the knight get bribed. "Tch, just like real life."
"Today is a good day where no one brings anything up about the real world. Yep, nothing of such has happened." Touch Me ignored the demon, focusing on his brand new cape like a child looking at a freshly bought toy.
Peroroncino stared off into space. Knowing him, it was probably something perverted.
Momonga instead looked towards Peronroncino's elder sister. She sharply gagged after glancing at Momonga. Momonga frowned, not knowing if he had done something wrong.
"Momonga, what do you mean by Supreme Being?! What are you, eight?!"
Momonga did not understand what she meant. Of course, he was right when he had created the idea of a Supreme Being and now in his early twenties could he fulfill that childhood dream of being an evil big bad guy. He had a different idea of the pinnacle of cool now but it did not fit Yggdrasil thematically.
"What are you talking about Bukubukuchagama-san? You don't believe I'm the Supreme Being? I can show you if you would like proof."
"Momonga, do you do magic in real life? Cosplay?" Bukubukuchagama strained her cute voice.
Momonga recalled once he had tried to mimic an old manga where the protagonist placed his hands together and shot out a laser beam from them when he had been younger. And then he recalled the sum of cosmetic equipment he had fashioned in the shape of the Neo Nazi's.
He had spent a not quite small amount of money commissioning artists and modelers to create them for him.
"Well, I do have a few costumes." Momonga said, taking out a khaki, vest, and jacket along with a long string of replica emblems and badges. It looked quite fashionable to him.
"You have horrible tastes. Instead you should look into dark fant-" She caught herself mid sentence and mumbled under her breath. Momonga couldn't quite hear her. A few words such as "noooo, not again" and "get it together" slipped.
"Ughh. Whatever, just please please don't act like that in front of me. Please?"
It was a strange request but Momonga obliged. He nodded as he wondered what could've made her act like that. He decided to put it out of mind. It was hardly his business anyways.
What a strange woman, he thought.
Momonga felt a slight tremor under his feet. Peronroncino squinted at the distance. Momonga could hardly see through the thick leaves and wood but Peronroncino tensed up. Taking hold of his bow, he fired off an arrow seemingly nowhere.
"What's wrong? I thought we cleared everything ou-" A hefty earthquake shook Takemikazuchi out of balance.
"OOOOOORRRRRRGHHHHHH!"
The samurai turned around to see nothing. Another tremor rippled through the mud and dirt. Mounds were displaced and sharp, thorny spikes emerged from the undergrowth. Touch Me grabbed onto Momonga as the others either leapt away or simply tanked the damage.
Though Momonga had piercing damage resistance, his gut told him that he was going to need that slim sliver.
Momonga casted Mass Fly once more and the group soared to the skies.
They halted slightly above the trees and looked around, unable to find anything. A large shadow covered the group in its terrible size.
One slitted eye stared them down. Leathery wings tore the trees underneath up. A puff of flame turned an entire section of trees into charred ash.
"Who in the world thought to put a dragon as a guardian of the jungle?!" Peroroncino used his wings to evade a claw swipe. Its verdant scales almost hid it in the sea of jungle leaves.
"Dodge!" A wholly unfamiliar deep feminine voice yelled out. Bukubukuchagama brought up her shields to protect Momonga from a barrage of fire.
"Let us fight, one eyed demonic dragon! This trip was definitely worth it." Touch Me parried a tail sweep, the impact sent the knight flying through a tree. He stood up without a scratch or dent of his magnificent armor and dusted off the splinters.
A mighty explosion rang. The source was Touch Me jumping with such force and power, the air had combusted. "Golden Radiance!"
Another tail attack flew towards Touch Me but this time the attack was sent back. The dragon's own spiked tail smacked its wing, leaving it tattered.
Momonga casted as many support spells as applicable to his comrades as a tidal wave of flame overtook them all. Momonga came out unscathed thanks to his spells however Peronroncino was not so lucky.
His wings were now charred and ashes dusted his feathery body. Embers signaled that his avatar was aflame, Momonga rushed over. Opening an ordinary blood red potion, he poured it into the knocked out Peroroncino's mouth.
Ulbert watched everything below him with wholly giddy anticipation. One more second. One more moment. "Cover me, Bukubukuchagama-san."
She quickly rushed over to his aid. The demon was able to resist any fire damage the behemoth would do to him however his spell would be canceled otherwise.
Dark red magic circles appeared around Ulbert much like how it had for Momonga earlier but this time they glowed much brighter. The green scales of the ancient beast were dimly lit. The light beige and charred woods alike were colored crimson. For a minute, the world was bathed in blood.
Sensing its impending doom, the dragon charged up its breath, ready to turn whatever dare challenge it back into the primordial ooze which it had evolved from.
Nishikienrai, who was biding his time high above even the clouds, dove down like a meteor, tearing out the slitted eye.
Still, the beast began to wildly and pathetically flail about. Momonga raised an anti fire barrier to protect the still unconscious Peroroncino and protect his vulnerability.
It was unneeded however. Takemikazuchi flew up to its side. He cracked his knuckles and neck before bludgeoning the creature into the dirt underneath with his oversized mallet.
A crater appeared as Ulbert grinned sadistically and began his speech.
"I offer you this as your only and final consolidation, know this, you have come face to face with the terrible daemon of disaster and have forced him to cast this. Let me tell you of the end. The branches of Yggdrasil split under an unending war as the ancestor Nihoggr gnaws at the leaves of the world tree! In place of the giant Surtr, I awaken this world as the realm of the eternal flame for a singular moment! GRAND CATASTROPHE!"
A wave of malice and destruction washed over the area. Wood turned to ash as ash turned to sands and sands into null. A yawning void emerged from the center of the dragon and engulfed everything around it. Roots were torn apart, the void sucked in everything before a moment of calm.
A calm before a storm. The void shrunk in on itself, devouring everything until there was no more to devour and then consuming itself. The world was dyed in black flame and evil winds. Whispers of ruin and calamity rushed out to the world as the clan members of Nine's Own Goal let out a gasp of relief.
"What kind of shitty devs leave a level one hundred and twenty raid boss in a level ninety zone?!" Peroroncino fell to his knees and crumpled up. He continued to chug potion after potion, trying to keep his hp afloat.
Takemikazuchi, Nisikienrai, and Touch Me sat on a log as they checked their gear's durability. Dragon fire was one of the few attacks that could melt legendary items alongside specially crafted forges.
Ulbert was still flying above. He scrolled through the unholy amount of legendary tier loot he had gotten for killing a raid boss.
Momonga leaned against Bukubukuchagama, who had taken the dragon's eye and soul gem.
"Please, for the love of god, tell us when you see a dragon." Bukubukuchagama mumbled out to her brother. Her limbs felt like jelly. They already were but being a level ninety four tank meant her slim, tentacle arms were stronger than all but the highest tier of metals.
"Touch-san, did you know there was a boss here?" Momonga felt as if his senior would know.
"Yeah but I didn't expect to actually aggro it considering it's at the very center of this entire jungle." The middle aged man sounded tired beyond belief.
"The chunni per square inch in Nine's Own Goal is going to kill me." Bukubukuchagama looked at Momonga and Ulbert.
"But it was so cool though…" Momonga had once coveted the world disaster class for himself, before he had met Ulbert Alain Odle.
Touch Me secretly agreed.
"It was awesome, right, guys?!" Momonga looked towards his friends for support.
"Maybe…" Takemikazuchi looked away. Nishikienrai gave a slight nod.
Peroroncino opened his beak but a single glare from his sister rendered him silent.
Ulbert nodded, very proudly in fact. Perhaps being a chunni was a mark of pride.
Momonga looked towards the sun. Maybe he should act more chunni with Bukubukuchagama. He checked his in-game clock, it was still seven o clock. The bright burning sun overhead had not budged an inch.
That's how it's always been, right?
