Devil's Advocate
Chapter 11th
Suzanne drove in the lateness of the hour. She found the coroner's office easy with the directions as she moved into the parking lot with finding a spot near the back entrance instead.
Taking in a deep breath after turning off the engine of her vehicle. She stopped for a breath moment needing to gather herself before falling apart with tears. After a few minutes, she was feeling better after gathering up her blue jacket with the chill of the night.
She looks up to see the full moon of the evening as it was giving her a chill down her back and neck mostly. She looked down to start her walking towards the entrance of the double glass doors and she noticed there wasn't any security guard around except for the front entrance.
Moving inside with the lights up full to see. She will see the elevator with the directions to the coroner's office on the fourth floor and other doctors. She pushed the button to move inside the newly furbished doors as she presses to send the elevator moving up to the fourth floor.
She had butterflies inside her stomach with the news of her sister's death. The doors slowly opened. She moved out to see the arrow pointing her to the coroner's office taking the hallway down.
The assistant had been waiting for Suzanne to arrive since he was told by Sergeant Chambers that she was coming for the verification of her sister from the Westchester Assisted Living Faculty. He had Pamela laying down on the table with her entire body covered except her face.
They were able to do miracles on her face by covering up the cut marks on her face with the knife that was used by the killer.
Moments later there was a knock on the window. It was Suzanne arriving and needing to see her sister for one final time before the funeral. Even though her plans were to be cremated in her final orders before dying.
The assistant Darrell placed on his white coat to head out into the corridor to speak with the woman before opening up the shade inside for her to see and give confirmation.
After speaking with the woman for a moment to settle her nerves. "Are you ready for this Suzanne?" he needed to say taking in a deep breath as well.
She was all of a sudden feeling nervous. "I am Darrell." she had to look at his name tag before saying his name first.
"Let me go inside to raise the shade so that you can view your sister's face." he barked back opening the door by using the key code to get inside by raising the shade to expose the body laying down on the silver slab.
She broke down with tears as it was indeed her body. Darrell was able to place the shade back down coming out to console the woman. "Sorry for your loss, Suzanne." he cried out withholding her into his arms for now...
