Chapter 2: a new family
As the two nuns approached the church they went inside the building and went straight to pew chairs and sat down. "Okay, I will go to the fridge and get some milk and feed baby nova" stated Gabrielle.
As if the child heard her he started squirming in her arms and making some baby noises as she headed to the kitchen. Elizabeth nodded and began standing up as well and said "I'll contact the pastor and explain to him the situation". When Gabrielle and little Nova arrived in the kitchen she sat him on the chair and went to the fridge but still kept her warm green eyes on the child through her peripheral vision.
Seeing they still have milk in the fridge she got a plastic cup and poured the milk in it and put it inside the microwave for 1 minute. As Gabrielle opened the cabinet she found a new sippy cup and waited for the milk to get warm. As she put back the milk curtain in the fridge she heard the microwave beeping walk to it and opened the handle of the microwave.
And took the colorful plastic cup which she found in the cabinet and settled it down on the counter and poured it into the sippy cup making sure not to spill any of it. And grabbing the top and securing it.
And walked to the curious child picking him up and lowering the bottle as he drank it. As she looked down at the satisfied red-head child as his bright sky-blue eyes twinkled when they met her gaze with childlike happiness.
As she walked back to Elizabeth she overheard her on the phone with the pastor " yes we found a child all alone in the forest no we didn't see or hear anyone nearby in the forest. Yes one of us will have to take him to the hospital tomorrow and make sure he is healthy".
After a few minutes of silence, she spoke again "alright I will make posters and Flyers and post them all around the neighborhood and contact the authorities about it while Gabrielle will take him to the hospital".
as she saw the two duos Gabrielle nodded in agreement and nodded back and hung up the phone. "Okay, who will look after the kid?" asked Elizabeth. "I will since I have some experience with kids and you're too young seeing as you are 19" Answered
Gabrielle giggled slightly. "Hey, I'm not that young as you are only 5 years older than me!" She growled out.
Gabrielle laughed out loud And the young nova gurgled out a laugh as if joining in on the joke. "Great the baby is laughing at me now" muttered a pouting Elizabeth.
Scene change
After talking about church-related issues and watching a bit of television as the child falls asleep after drinking some more warm milk we see Gabrielle driving to her family house. "Hum, I wonder how the rest of my family will react to you, my little supernova " as she glances at the sleeping child in her rear mirror.
She can't help but think how cute he is while asleep and lightly snoring. As the Gray jeep compass pulled up in the driveway into the modern suburban house she parked it and took the key out of the ignition and opened the door and walked out to the passenger seat and swiftly open the door and took nova's seat belt off she made sure to be especially quiet so to not wake up the sleeping boy.
She got him off the car seat and cradled him to her chest and softly kissed him on the forehead head while closing the passenger door. And locked the door with her car keys and started to walk upstairs and knocked a few times until she heard footsteps getting closer and a feminine voice answered" one sec I'm coming".
As the red oak door opened. When the door opened she immediately recognized her mother and greeted the fellow blond. While at the same time using her body to hide the child." Good evening mother now don't freak out or y'all at me okay promise me "spoke Gabrielle as she stared intently at her mother.
Who was confused but relented and nodded her hair causing the blond locks to sway slightly. Gabrielle sighed and thought " here goes comes " and moved the sleeping child to her front and presented him to her mother. Upon seeing the asleep child she gave her daughter a look that demanded an answer but moved back inside the cozy house as she walked on the dark wooden floor she glanced at her and then stated" put the child in the guestroom and after you are done with that come in the living room and explain everything to me."
Elizabeth just sighed but complied and went upstairs to the guest room and put nova on the bed. As she tucked him in she bent down and lightly flicked him on the nose and gave him a forehead kiss.
As she walked down the stairs and headed to the living room she saw her mother with two warm cups of coffee with added cream. She went to the opposite chair facing the blond mother. And began to tell her how she came into possession of a child and awaited her mother's response as she drank her cup of coffee.
As Vanessa leaned back on the couch and seemed in deep thought eventually gave her response and agreed to keep the child until the child's parents come to claim him. You had a very interesting morning just head to your room and we will figure this mess out tomorrow seeing as it's a bit late.
Gabrielle had no complaints and turned to the big glass window and saw the sky had gotten dark. And stood up and gave her mother a nod and gave a farewell and headed to her room.
Scene change
The next morning the birds outside were chirping and the sun was glaring at the window inside Gabrielle's room. She turned around so the sun wasn't directly trying to blind her with its bright ray. Turning back around she groaned and glanced at her digital clocks and saw it was only 7:85 and went back to bed to sleep in more as it was only Saturday.
In the kitchen Vanessa Uriah was already up and ready for the day unlike her daughter as she walked in the kitchen she saw that she needed to stock up on some food."I should head to the grocery store and buy some more food… as well as baby formula seeing as we have a special guest in the house." She nodded in approval and walked to her master bedroom to get change.
After ten minutes she opened her door and went downstairs to grab the keys to her Mercedes SUV. As she walked she stopped at the mirror close to the front door and glanced at her outfit of the day.
With a pair of tight blue jeans, and a form-fitting tank top under a black blazer. she Couldn't help but smirk that she looks good.
And opened the door and closed it behind her and locked it. She walks through the driveway and puts her key into the ignition and slowly backs up and drives away To go to the supermarket.
A few hours later inside Gabrielle's room after a well-rested nap, she sits up on her bed and yarns while stretching after which the events of yesterday hit her like a bullet train, and begins to remember what happened.
" I might as well get up and start my day plus I have to take baby nova to the hospital to get a check-up" she mutters. After a few more minutes of enjoying relaxation, she heads towards her closet and picks out gray sweatpants and a black loose t-shirt over a white robe and puts on some tan cozy slippers, and exits the room.
And goes up to check on the baby in the guestroom as she walks up to the white door she opens it up slightly Peer through the gap and sees that the child is still asleep and gently closes the door not to disturb the baby. And descending the stairs to the kitchen as she is walking down the stairs she can't but be a bit suspicious of how quiet the house is she couldn't help but comment " usually mom's up by now as she always was an early bird. Probably didn't help she was once a sailor for the navy".
As she shakes those thoughts away and headed to make some breakfast for herself she saw a sticky note on the counter and headed toward it to read the note
"Hey, honey if you are reading this note that means I headed out to the supermarket to buy some groceries. I didn't want to disturb your beauty sleep, and before you text me or call me I already remember to get baby food. Love mom" with a love heart at the end.
