Chapter 3: being adopted

As Vanessa was pushing the cart looking for baby diapers but for the life of her can't find them In this supermarket. As she signs and looks down at what is currently in the metal curt and takes the grocery list out of her pocket." Let's see Humm. We can check out the avocado, bananas, chicken breast, and the applesauce. Out of the list ".

As she was talking to herself she spotted a Walmart employee with a bigger cart restocking the food aisle. She grabbed her cart and pushed it in his direction and tried to get his attention but seemed a bit distracted so she lightly tapped his shoulder. As he turned around to The woman he was speaking to and was caught off guard by the very stunning woman with long golden hair that ran all the way down to her back. With a pair of tight blue jeans, and a form-fitting tank top under a black blazer. As he took off the AirPods and apologized to the blond."

How may I help you with anything" he asked. She gave him a light smile.

" Sorry to disturb you but can you guide me to the dipper section" he nodded and spoke." Follow me ". After they went to the checkout counter. As she went to her purse and took out her wallet and took out her credit card and proceeded to pay. As she went to her car and put all her groceries in the trunk and started the car, she drove out of the supermarket and went home.

Scene change

With Gabrielle, she was eating the breakfast she made. She suddenly heard a loud cry coming from upstairs and went to the guest room and found a now awake nova who upon seeing her started to lessen his cry and started clapping his hands joyfully.

As she approached the bed she couldn't help but shake her head at the baby sucking on his thumb and giggling.

And put her hands on her hip and picked him up and gently threw him in the air before catching him and starting to tickle his feet and went downstairs to feed him warm milk and waited for her mother to come back from the store.

Scene change

A few hours later she heard the familiar sound of the door being unlocked and saw her mother carrying bags of groceries and settled the young child down on the couch and helped bring in the last few bags inside. As she carried them inside she used her foot to close the door. As Vanessa pulls out the products from the bags and starts to put them where they need to go. "So when are we going to the doctor". Asked Vanessa after she was done putting the last of the groceries and putting the applesauce in the fridge. " I set an appointment for later this evening," answered Gabrielle.

Before Vanessa could give her a response, Gabrielle's phone started to vibrate, and grab it from her back pocket and looked at the caller ID it was Elizabeth. She answered the call " hello, how are you doing this morning". After a few moments of silence, she said "okay thank you so much for this". And ended the call and put the phone back in her back pocket. " is everything alright sweetie" asked a concerned Vanessa. Her daughter just nodded " yeah she contacted the police and informed them what is happening and printed a few hundred Flyers so we can put them around the block and area". Gabrielle said

Scene change

We see the family in the Mercedes SUV driving to the Santa Clara valley medical center listening to the radio as the hospital came into view. As they parked, Gabrielle took the child's stroller from the trunk of the car as her mother carried the redheaded child while she waited for her daughter to take the stroller. As the small family walked into the big building and after checking in they were put in the waiting room. As they patiently waited for their name to be called.

As the receptionist called out for Gabrielle Uriah they snapped out of their conversation and stood up and walked when the doctor opened the door for them to walk in. When they walked with young nova making a gibberish noise. They saw a light green wallpaper with some animal paw prints with everything the doctor needed.

After which the doctor closed the door and pulled a spinning chair as the mother and daughter duo saw his name tag as it read Dr. Stanford. As the doctor and the adults talked he wrote down something on his clipboard and then said he would like to run some tests to make sure the child is as healthy as he can be. After a couple of hours, they exited the facility and went back to the car after they secured the booster seat and put away the stroller.

They were back on the highway a few moments of silence Gabrielle asked when dad was coming back home. Vanessa gave a sad sigh " he is still deployed in Iraq but don't be upset we know that he's still alive and so are your two older brothers ". Gabrielle just shook her head at her mother and asked " why did Jaden have to enlist in the Marines? And Dallas has to sign up for the Army.

Vanessa gave her a proud look "it's the same with everyone in our family dear we serve to protect what is very important to us and to stop corruption in this world what is the navy motto? Non-Sibi sed patriae which means Not self but country " she said with pride in her voice. Try to change the conversation Gabrielle asked when his grandpa arrived since he lives in New York. He should be arriving in three and a half days, answered Vanessa.

Time-skip

It's been 12 months since the bundle of you entered her life Gabrielle can't have been any happier because nova has been the missing piece in her life and every day she thanks the lord for bringing him to her. And even though she does feel a bit bad that she is raising someone else's child. And taking away their chances of seeing their child grow big and strong. But it's not the time for those thoughts she hears footsteps near her door and the sound of someone trying to get into her bedroom. She gets up from her lying position and slips into her pink furry slippers and walks to the door and slowly opens it up. As she looks down she sees nova putting his arms up in the air as the Universal picks me up. So she Gets down to one knee and picks him up. She starts to rub her nose against his as he begins to squirm and giggle. And she can't help but kiss him on the cheek. "Mama I'm hungry".exclaimed Nova as he pokes her nose with his tiny fingers." Alright my son, why don't you go downstairs and wash your hands while I wake up granny". she spoke softly, he nods excitedly and bolted down to the kitchen. "Hey no running in the house mister!" She y'all "sorry mama" came the delayed response. As she walks to her mother's room she can't help but have a big smile remembering what happened 10 months ago.

Flashback

After filling in the form to adopt nova a judge reviewed the application form and agreed for her to adopt nova as her legal son and legal guardian. When she got the letter in the mail she was overwhelmed with emotion not knowing whether or not she can become nova's parent. She would have been depressed if the court had rejected her application for adoption. But it seems that god was on her side. She sprinted back to her house to show her mother the note. When she found her mother on the couch with Nova on her lap watching Animal planet. she excitedly screamed mother! Look and handed her mother the note as Vanessa was opening the note Gabrielle swooped up baby naruto and spun around while crying and holding him tightly across her chest as her mother soon joined in after she read the letter. Both mother and daughter now have an official new family member.
