Episode 2: Animo Planet (Part 1)
It had been months since Ben started being a superhero. He became famous all over the world and gave himself the name Ben 10 because of the Omnitrix's 10 transformations.
Ben: Can you guys believe it? I'm famous and popular now!
Gwen: Yeah yeah we already know.
Max: Well, I gotta say Ben. You've improved a lot in combat since you first started training with me. Keep it up and you'll probably end up becoming one of the greatest heroes ever. But you still have a lot to learn first.
Ben: I know grandpa.
Meanwhile in an alternate dimension, there lived a man inside his secret underground lab. He had white hair, dry saggy skin and long fingernails. This... was Dr. Animo. The Dr. Animo in this dimension looks nearly identical to the original one, except for his dry and slightly saggy skin.
Dr. Animo was thinking to himself. He had created a lot of mutant animals for a while now. But... he wanted to create something new. Practically every crazy animal mutations had already been done by him.
Animo: These mutations are getting kinda old. I want something new. But I've already done everything. From mutating animals to combining them, I've done it all. I need something new. But what?
Animo thought hard for a moment, he already practically tried everything. But even after a while of thinking, he still couldn't come up with an idea of what to do next. "Oh forget it. I'll just check on that planet I've been maintaining." he eventually said as he gave up thinking.
Animo then went to his garage. He entered a password on its small keypad. Then, the door slid open.
One of the vehicles inside the garage was Animo's spaceship. It was black all over. Animo then got inside it and activated it by touching a small screen on the controls. This screen would activate Animo's ship only if his hand touches it.
After Animo started his ship up, he went to outer space to the planet he created. It was pink almost all over. Animo called it The Animo Kingdom.
When Animo landed his ship on his planet, he stopped it and got off. Then, he looked around. All his mutant animals were there. "Ah, this is proof of the genius that I am." he said before sitting on a rock to continue thinking of what to create next.
Meanwhile back at the Rustbucket, Max said "Hey kids, I've been planning for us to go to the zoo. Who wants to come?". "Sounds nice." said Ben, "Sure." said Gwen. "Great, gimme a minute and we'll be on our way." Max replied as he went outside. "Haven't been to the zoo in a while." said Ben, "Me too." agreed Gwen.
[A Few Minutes Later...]
Max: Okay kids who's ready to go?
Ben & Gwen: Us!
Max started the Rustbucket. As it roared into life, Max drove it off into the distance.
Soon, Ben, Gwen and Max arrived at the zoo. When they got inside, Max found a good parking spot. Then, he, Ben and Gwen got off.
But... what Max, Gwen and Ben DIDN'T realize was that they weren't the ONLY ones who just got in the zoo! A black car had parked near the Rustbucket. And you wouldn't believe who stepped out of it. -It was DR. ANIMO! After a while of thinking, Animo decided that he'd just make another mutant animal again. Even if it was no different from what he usually created. Animo had decided why not get the things he needed in the dimension where our Ben lives just for the fun of it, I guess he was THAT bored. Animo looked around for a bit before walking into the zoo.
Ben and Gwen were walking around looking at the animals, Gwen was holding a map. "C'mon Ben, let's take a look at the other animals." she said, "Ok." replied Ben. Then, something- -or someone- -caught Gwen's attention.
"Hey, that man looks kinda weird." Gwen said, "Huh? Where?" asked Ben. "There." Gwen said pointing at the man who was Dr. Animo. Ben looked at Animo and said "Uhhh... what's he wearing?". "I dunno, let's ask." replied Gwen. Then, she and Ben went up to Dr. Animo.
"Um... hello sir." Gwen started. "Hm?" said Animo as he looked at her and Ben. "What are those things? Why are you wearing them?" Ben added. "Go away kids!" said Animo as he continued walking. "Well, that was rude." Gwen said, "Yeah." agreed Ben before adding "And what's those weird things he's wearing?". "I dunno. Now c'mon, let's just keep going." replied Gwen as she and Ben continued exploring the zoo.
Soon, Animo got to a lion enclosure. He then used a device to discreetly cut off a piece of hair from one of the male lions. "Alright, now to go find other animals I want." Animo said, but as he was about to go elsewhere some zookeepers went up to him. One of them said "Wh-what were you doing with that device near the lion enclosure?". Unfortunately, Animo just pulled out his laser blaster in response and fired at him! Luckily, the zookeeper was able to dodge the laser. But Animo was now running away!
"HEY! COME BACK HERE!" the zookeeper yelled, but it was no use. Dr. Animo just kept on running. Max saw part of what happened, he was carrying food he bought from one of the zoo's cafes. But he just left them on a table and chased after Animo, who was already getting pretty far away. "Hey! Get back here!" said Max.
As Animo was running, he looked behind him. He saw Max chasing after him. "Get off my back old man!" said Animo as he fired lasers at Max! But Max dodged and started firing back! "Stop right there!" Max yelled as he continued to chase Animo.
As for Ben and Gwen, they were waiting in line to buy drinks in one of the stands. Then, they heard laser blasts in the distance! "What's that?" asked Gwen, "Sounds like lasers. But who's shooting?!" replied Ben. His question was answered when he and Gwen saw Max and Animo firing at each other while running! "It's grandpa!" said Gwen, "-And that weird man! I knew there was something up with him! C'mon! Let's go!" said Ben. "Wait! Lemme get my stuff first before I help! You go ahead, I'll catch up later." Gwen replied, "Alright." replied Ben as he ran after Max and Animo.
Gwen ran back to the Rustbucket as fast as she could, when she got there she opened a compartment inside it. Inside... -there was plumber gear. These were given to her days after Ben first became a hero. Gwen put on her plumber suit, got her plumbers badge, laser blaster and a bunch of other things that were included with the plumber gear. "Alright, time to help Ben and grandpa." she said as she ran out.
Meanwhile, Animo had managed to escape from Ben and Max. "Where'd he go?" said Ben who was XLR8 right now, "That way!" replied Max. But before he and Ben could do anything else, the Omnitrix started making beeping noises. It was a call from someone. Ben pressed on the Omnitrix and didn't let go so that he could answer the call. "Hello?" he said, "Ben, it's me. Pick me up using XLR8. I'm near the Rustbucket." said a voice. It was Gwen. "Alright, I'll be taking grandpa with us too once I get back to where I am after picking you up." replied Ben. Then, he ended the call and dashed off to pick up Gwen.
When Ben got near the Rustbucket, he saw Gwen standing there. Gwen saw a streak of blue rushing towards her, before she was grabbed and taken by it. Then, Ben went back to where Max was and took him as well.
Animo was rushing towards his car, when he got to it he quickly unlocked it before starting it and driving it off! Just then, Ben stopped near the Rustbucket. He, Gwen and Max saw tire marks on the spot where Animo had parked. "Looks like someone left in a rush." said Max, "Yeah, and look! There's tire marks leading out of the zoo!" added Gwen. "Let's follow the marks." said Ben, "Wait, if you carry us for long you could get tired." replied Gwen. "Oh, yeah." Ben muttered. "Go ahead Ben, we can catch up later. Catch him while he still hasn't gone that far yet." said Max, Ben nodded, put down Gwen and Max then went after Animo.
Meanwhile, Animo was speeding along the highway. He swerved between vehicles and crashed into some stuff on the road. Soon, he got to where his ship was parked. He then made his car drift into the ship as its bottom door automatically opened. After that, Animo started his ship and made a yellow portal appear before driving inside it.
Ben saw what happened and quickly stopped. "Oh man! He got away!" he said. Then, he looked back and saw the Rustbucket.
*Beep beep!*
The Rustbucket drifted to a halt, then Max and Gwen came out. "What happened? Where's the guy?" Max asked, "He got away, I saw him make his car drift inside a big spaceship. Then, he drove the ship into a yellow portal." replied Ben. "I know a place where we can get some help." said Max, "Where?" asked Ben. Then, Max sighed and said "Ben, Gwen, promise me you two will keep this a secret.". "Ok grandpa." Ben and Gwen both answered.
Max sighed again, before getting his plumber's badge and typing stuff into it. Then, a light blue portal appeared out of nowhere!
Ben: *Turns back into a human* Whoa! Where does that portal take you to?
Max: The plumbers' base. We might be able to get some help there.
Ben: Then what're we waitin' for? Let's go!
Once Max, Ben and Gwen got inside the plumbers' base, the plumbers greeted them.
Plumber 1: Oh, it's you Max. What do you need?
Max: I need to borrow one of your computers real quick. Were trying to find a guy.
Plumber 1: Who?
Max: I don't know, I never really got a chance to look at him properly. But what I do know is that he wears this weird thing on his head that looks like a big strainer with antennas on it.
Plumber 1: Weird thing that looks like a strainer with antennas? You must be looking for Dr. Animo. *Starts using the computer*
Max: Who?
Plumber 1: Dr. Animo. He mutates animals and uses them to wreak havoc wherever he wants.
Gwen: Well that explains why he came to the zoo before escaping.
Ben: We gotta catch him then!
Max: Can you teleport us to where Animo is right now?
Plumber 1: Lemme find him first. *Starts finding Animo using computer*
The plumber used his equipment to find Animo, it would take a while since the computer could find people and other things in alternate dimensions and other worlds. And after a few minutes, Ben said "He still hasn't found this Animo guy yet?". "Be patient Ben, it's not that easy to use those things." said Max.
Plumber 1: Aha! Found him!
Max: Where?
Plumber 1: He's in the same dimension as us. But he's in space. -IN HIS PLANET.
Max: What planet?!
Plumber 1: It's a pink planet called The Animo Kingdom. It's basically where Animo keeps many of his mutant creations and other things he created. I can teleport you three there, and I can request for some plumbers to help you.
Max: Sounds good.
Ben: YES! Finally! Time to catch the guy!
The plumber made Ben, Gwen and Max go inside one of their spaceships along with some other plumbers. Then, they teleported them to space. Along with more plumbers and spaceships. Ben had been given a suit of his own so that he'd be able to move and do things in space in his human form if he needed to.
Once everyone was in space, the plumber who teleported them there spoke through the ships' communication systems and said "I teleported you a bit far from Animo's planet because it's heavily guarded by mutants and protected by a barrier that extends pretty far.". "Don't worry, we can take it from here." Max replied. Then, the plumber hung up the call.
[A Few Minutes Later...]
Soon, everyone could see mutants surrounding a pink barrier. "We can take on the mutants, but how are we gonna get past the barrier? We've tried dealing with Animo and his planet before, it's HARD to break or get past that barrier." said one of the plumbers, "I got an idea." said Ben as he picked an alien and slammed on the Omnitrix.
A flash of blue light shone brightly before disappearing, when it did it revealed Ben as Upgrade. "Alright, let's do this thing." he said, "Ok, so what's the plan?" asked Gwen. "Hold off those mutants while I give what's keeping those barriers up a massive downgrade." Ben replied. Gwen nodded, then she, Max and the others went into action.
Max and the other plumbers made their spaceships fire lasers at the mutants. And as you can probably imagine, they didn't like it. The mutants then went up to them and started fighting back!
While Max, Gwen, the other plumbers and the mutants were fighting, Ben took the chance to sneak his way near the barriers. Then, he split himself into small parts and splatted them all over to the things that were keeping them up. Then, he did his work. He started downgrading them. And the barriers started to glitch.
Meanwhile, Max and Gwen were fighting side by side against the mutants. "Fire in the hole!" Gwen yelled as she fired at some mutant bats. Some of them got hit and ended up falling down, while others got back at her by SCREECHING so loud!
*SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!*
Gwen and Max covered their ears! Even though they were already wearing plumber suits (which would normally protect them from this kind of stuff), the bats' screechings were too much for the plumber suits to handle and couldn't protect Gwen and Max that much from it anymore.
"AGGGHHH! WHAT THE HELL?! THAT WAS SO LOUD!" said Ben as he started firing light blue lasers from his eye and from the circular parts of his body patterns. More mutant bats got taken down, however some of them were still fighting and kept on screeching!
*SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!*
Now Ben was angry. Just as he was finished downgrading and destroying the things that held up the barriers, the barriers glitched out and disappeared. Then, he said "Time to give these guys a taste of their own medicine!" before hitting the Omnitrix symbol.
When the blue light disappeared, it revealed that Wildmutt took Ben's place. The mutant bats looked at Ben, and Ben looked back. -Then...
*SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!*
*ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!*
Ben used Wildmutt's echo roar to blow back the bats and send them flying! "Nice shot Ben! Our turns!" Max said as he and Gwen fired lasers at the remaining bats.
*PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-*
All the mutant bats that were guarding near the barrier were down. But there were still more mutants to deal with. "Ben! Gwen! You two go on ahead, we'll take care of these mutants!" said Max, then another plumber said "Actually, I think it's best if you go with them. We'll handle these guys.". "Alright." Max agreed before he, Gwen and Ben went past where the barriers were.
"It's gonna take long before we get to the planet." said Max, "Then let's get this thing "roll"-in'." said Ben as he turned into Cannonbolt. "Hang on tight." he added as he grabbed Gwen and Max before curling into a ball and taking them with him while rolling so fast.
Meanwhile, Animo was working on an experiment in an underground room inside his planet. "Well, my work is almost done. I'll just add up the final touches then I can go rest." he said, but it looked like that wasn't going to happen. As he continued working, an alarm sounded off! "-WHAT?! -Someone managed to break into my planet?! -But who?!" he yelled as he checked his computer screens. Upon checking them, he found out that it was Ben who was rolling down towards his planet right now!
Animo: Whatever that thing is, I won't let it just barge in here without my notice! *Rushes to grab equipment*
[Meanwhile...]
*-CRASH!* "OOGH!"
Ben landed on Animo's planet, it was kind of rough. He got dragged through the ground before he finally managed to stop himself. Then, he uncurled himself dropping Gwen and Max.
Ben: *Groans*
Gwen: I feel dizzy...
Max: Oooohhhh...
Once the trio stopped feeling dizzy, they looked around. "So this is what Animo's planet looks like. It's... -kinda weird..." said Ben, "Yeah, the ground's pink." Gwen added. "Almost everywhere is pink." replied Ben. "Soooo... -where's Animo?" Gwen asked, -then...
"Right here you little pests!"
Ben & Gwen: -Huh?!
Ben and Gwen looked up, then they saw Animo riding on a mutant cockatoo. "It's the weird guy at the zoo!" said Ben, "Well well well, what a surprise. I didn't expect to see you three here." said Animo. "Alright Animo, talk! What's all this?! And why are you turning animals into mutants?!" Ben said angrily, "Because I like doing it! It's... sort of a hobby y'know." Animo replied. Then, Ben said "Sorry Animo, but your zoo planet's about ta get closed for renovation!" before hitting the Omnitrix.
Ben had turned into Wildmutt and roared! "I'm not scared of you! In fact, I'm not scared of all of you!" said Animo, "You should be! Everyone get him!" said Gwen as she, Max and Ben started rushing towards Animo.
"ATTACK!" Animo yelled as his mutants followed his order and charged towards the Tennyson trio. Ben started off by using his echo roar again, sending some of the mutants flying. Gwen and Max followed by blasting lasers at the mutants.
"You little pests!" said Animo as he pressed 2 fingers from each hand on the sides of the head piece of his Transmodulator making it fire a continuous red laser blast from its antennas! The laser blast was about to hit Gwen and Max, but luckily Ben repelled it using his echo roar.
*ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!*
The roar sent Animo and his mutant cockatoo flying! Animo and his mutant fell onto the ground with a loud THUD. "Aggghhh..." groaned Animo as he and the cockatoo got up. Then, Ben roared a bit and leapt towards him! "AAAHHH!" Animo yelled as he quickly pulled out his blaster and tried firing at Ben. But Gwen saw him and shot his blaster off his hand. "Agh!" said Animo as his blaster fell onto the ground. Then, Ben tackled him!
Ben and Animo ended up struggling to pin each other down. "Get... off... me... you little... -urgh!" Animo kept on groaning, Ben just roared a bit in response.
Then, Ben heard some roars that weren't his own. When he looked at the direction they came from, he saw mutant sabertooth tigers looking menacingly at him.
*ROAR!*
"Bring it on!" Ben said in Wildmutt's language as he roared back, but then... -MORE MUTANTS SHOWED UP!
"C'mon! I can take all o' ya!" Ben growled and roared, then the mutants started charging at him!
Animo then kicked Ben off of him and ran, leaving just Ben and the mutants. Ben used echo roar to blow them back, it worked for most of the mutants. But the flying ones weren't that affected.
Ben jumped and grabbed on to a mutant pelican's foot. The pelican squawked and flapped its wings around like crazy. But no matter how much it did, Ben wouldn't let go.
-Then...
*CHOMP! -SQUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!*
Ben BIT the pelican's foot! The pelican squawked so loud and went even crazier! Eventually, it was able to throw Ben off of it. Making him fall onto the ground.
*THUMP!*
While Ben and his friends were busy, Animo had been preparing something. It was a truck that had what looked like a very big blaster on top of it! Animo drove it outside to where Ben and his friends were.
Meanwhile, Ben and his friends were still fighting. However, they were interrupted when they saw a big truck come out of nowhere. A big speaker came out on the truck's top, then Animo spoke through the microphone and said "Behold, all of your ends!".
"Wh-what's that?!" said Gwen, "For years I have been experimenting on animals. But now, I will take it ONE STEP FURTHER! Instead of using animals, I will use whatever creature that is!" Animo replied pointing at Ben. Ben made an animalistic whiny sound before trying to run, unfortunately Animo pulled out a gun-like device and tried to aim it at him! But instead of Ben, Animo accidentally attached the device's grappling claw on the OMNITRIX!
"Wh... -WHAT?!" yelled Animo as he saw his mistake. Ben looked at the Omnitrix and saw that the grappling claw was attached to it. He tried removing it, but it was too tight! Then, a small screen on Animo's device said that he could use it on the Omnitrix. And Animo saw that using it on the Omnitrix would be even better than using it on Ben.
"Well then, if this device says so... then that's what I shall do." said Animo as he pulled the trigger. When he did, Ben got CONTINUOUSLY SHOCKED!
*-Crackle-crackle-crackle-crackle-KZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!*
Ben HOWLED IN PAIN as the streaks of red energy went through his body! "Yes... -YES! -HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Animo laughed maniacally as Ben kept on getting shocked!
"-BEN!" Gwen and Max yelled before running and trying to save him. Unfortunately, a BIG EXPLOSION came!
*-BOOM!*
Smoke flew everywhere! Gwen and Max were okay, but the smoke was so thick they had to wait for it to disappear. When it finally did, they saw Ben groaning on the ground.
"-BEN!" they yelled again as they ran up to him. When Ben saw them, he just groaned. "Ben, are you okay?!" asked Max, Ben just responded by getting up and shaking his head a bit. "Where's Animo?!" Ben said in animalistic language, Gwen knew what he was trying to say and was about to answer. But before she could...
"-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! At long last! After years of creating mutant animals, I finally have SOMETHING NEW to work with! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
Gwen: -WHAT DID YOU DO ANIMO?!
Animo: Oh nothing. I just simply collected new DNA after using animals for so long. And now, with these new DNAs in my possession... -I, Dr. Animo... -will add more mutants to my ever growing army! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
"Uh oh..." Ben tried to say, but obviously he couldn't. And it just came out as animalistic noises. "Uhhhh... grandpa... I hope we got some stuff that can deal with the powers of Ben's aliens..." said Gwen.
With the DNAs of Ben's aliens now in his possession, Dr. Animo will finally make something new and add more mutants to his collection! How will Ben and his friends deal with this? And what's going to happen to them if they ever fight mutant versions of Ben's aliens? Find out in the next episode of Ben 10 Alternate Dimension.
