Episode 18: Just Like Magic
Last time, the Tennysons and the plumbers faced Hex and Charmcaster. But Ben was turned into a dog. And now he's running towards somewhere safer. How will he, Gwen, Max and the plumbers defeat Hex and Charmcaster? Find out by reading on.
Ben was now running somewhere where he'd be safer. "I gotta get outta here!" he thought as he kept running. But then... -he heard someone yell in the distance!
"AHA! THERE YOU ARE!"
Ben made a whiny sound as he looked behind him. It was Hex! And he was now chasing after Ben! Ben made more whiny noises as he ran a bit faster. Hex tried blasting Ben with the Staff Of Ages again, but luckily Ben was able to escape. Soon, Ben got back to where Gwen and Max were. When he did, he saw them and the plumbers fighting Charmcaster.

"Oh no! Gotta do something!" Ben thought, but before he could do anything Hex tried swatting him with the staff! Luckily, Ben jumped. Then, he tried clawing Hex. But Hex just swatted him away. When Ben hit the ground, Hex tried using magic on him. But when he tried to do so...
*-PEW! -FLASH!* "-Wh...-WHAT?!"
The continuous magic blast didn't work! "-Wh...-WHAT?!" Hex said surprised. How could Ben be resistant to his magic now? It worked when he turned him into a dog. Ben's suit protected him, but Hex didn't know this. -Yet. "H... How were you able to resist my magic?!" Hex asked still surprised, but Ben didn't answer him and instead tackled him making him fall to the ground!
"Oomph!" said Hex, then he tried to get Ben off of him. But he couldn't. Then, Ben used the back blasters of his suit to repeatedly fire at Hex.
*-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-*
"AGH!" said Hex as he managed to kick Ben off of him before getting up and holding his body in pain. But he just healed himself using magic before using the staff to try to blast Ben back. But Ben ran around so the blasts didn't hit him, then he tried blasting back using the back blasters. But only some of the back blasters' lasers hit Hex. And Hex would just heal the burns he got using magic.
Ben managed to get close to Hex, when he did he jumped and bit him again! "ARGH!" Hex roared as he whacked Ben with the staff before kicking him off and healing the bite on his leg using magic. "You'll pay for that!" Hex roared as he tried using magic on Ben again. But luckily, Ben's suit protected him. This made Hex angry and repeatedly whack Ben with the staff! Ben tried getting away from the magician, but he couldn't.

Ben made more whiny sounds as he kept on trying to get away from Hex. But the reptetive attacks didn't let him. -Then...
*-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-* "AAGH!" *THUMP!* "OOF!" "-GET AWAY FROM HIM!" *-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-*
Lasers were fired at Hex! "-GET AWAY FROM HIM!" someone yelled. It was Max! Ben now had the chance to get up, so he did. He ran towards Max and stopped beside him, then he fired lasers along with Max.
*-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-*
Even though some of the lasers hit Hex, they didn't do much. And Hex just healed the slight burns he got from the lasers. Now Hex was REALLY frustrated! He couldn't get Ben or Max off his back. So he said "Atrenalis Pitralis!", Ben and Max tried to run but the Staff Of Ages' magic blast got them first! Paralyzing them!
The spell that Hex used would paralyze Ben and Max, but he wanted to use a stronger version of the spell. So he started uttering another spell.
"Sankna Tuvna Merachta Abalos Misshio Dentva Pitralis Mankna!"
As soon as Hex finished uttering the spell. Yellow energy came out of the staff's mouth. The energy then turned into a big continuous blast. The blast then hit Ben and Max.
*-FLASH! -KZZZZZZZZZZZZAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT! -CRACKLE-CRACKLE-CRACKLE-CRACKLE- -FLASH!*
When the spell had taken its effect, Ben and Max would now be paralyzed for an EVEN LONGER TIME! "-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Hex cackled as he went over to the two. "Say good night, you little pests!" he said creepily as he raised the staff up. But then... just as he was about to hit Ben and Max with it...
*-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW!* "-ARGH!" "GET AWAY FROM THEM!" "-H...-Huh?!"
More lasers were fired at him! "ARGH! Who did that?!" Hex roared, "That was me." came a voice. Hex looked to see where it came from, when he did he saw Gwen with some plumbers behind her! "You again." said Hex as he spun the Staff Of Ages.
"We're ending this once and for all!" Gwen said, "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAA! You and your friends aren't strong enough to stop me." Hex replied before saying "Coralis Erachna!" Fire then spewed up from the ground before turning into a fire tornado that got Gwen and the plumbers! "-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Gwen and the plumbers yelled as they were sent flying and spinning.
While Gwen was caught in the fire tornado, she saw a metal pole. Quickly thinking, she loaded a power string on her blaster and changed some of the blaster's settings. Then, she fired the power string. But this time, one end of the power string stayed inside the blaster. While the other end now had a small blade like thing that stabbed itself onto the pole. Gwen used her blaster and the string to hold on to the pole, the fire tornado kept on spinning and taking the plumbers that were inside it with it. But as soon as it went onto the distance, Gwen was left hanging. The bladed end of the string kept her from falling. "Alright, time to get down." she thought before retracting the bladed end of the string. As she was falling, she used her blaster's bayonet and stabbed it onto the metal pole to slow down her fall. As Gwen was falling, the bayonet was making the cut on the pole longer and longer. But it also meant that Gwen's fall would be slower. As she was nearing the ground, she thought "Hold on... hold on... just a little more...". Eventually, she was able to land safely and remove her blaster from the pole. Once Gwen was on the ground, she rushed back to where Hex was.
Meanwhile, Hex was dealing with some more plumbers. Some of them managed to get Ben and Max out of the fight's range. Hex was getting more and more frustrated as more and more plumbers kept on coming. So he tried using a spell again.
"Aternalis Pitrali- -OOF!" *THUMP!* "Agh!"
But before he could finish the spell, one of the plumbers managed to get close to him and punch him in the face! "Agh!" said Hex as he fell down. "-NOW! GET HIM!" the plumber said to the others. Quickly, he and the other plumbers piled on Hex while trying to restrain him. Unfortunately, Hex could struggle and try to fight back. So the plumbers had a bit of a hard time.
"Get him get him! Don't let him get away!" one of the plumbers said, then another one tried putting handcuffs on Hex. However, Hex was able to push him away. But the plumbers were still trying to restrain Hex, having not much of a choice the magician began to quickly utter a spell.
"Sheba Massakta!"
*-FLASH!*
Immediately, red light surrounded Hex. Before it disappeared along with him! "Huh?! Where'd he go?!" one of the plumbers asked shocked, "Probably a disappearing or teleportation spell. Watch out." another plumber replied. Then, he and the other plumbers got up and got ready just in case Hex was trying to do something sneaky.
Soon after the plumbers got ready, Hex reappeared near them! The plumbers quickly fired at him, but Hex blocked the blasts with the staff. Then he yelled "Bopus Malitar!". Immediately, water started rushing towards the plumbers! "-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" they yelled as the water took them away!
Meanwhile, Charmcaster came along. She threw some plumbers she managed to knock out, "How's it going on your side of things uncle?" Charmcaster asked, "Help me get rid of these pests." Hex replied. Charmcaster smirked as she got the spell book and started searching through the pages. But... as she was doing so...
*-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW!* "-H-HEY! -WHAT THE-" "Bull's-eye!"
Lasers were fired at the spell book, making it fall! "-H-HEY! -WHAT THE-" Charmcaster said shocked, "Bull's-eye!" someone yelled in the distance. -It was Gwen. She blew her blaster before spinning it and firing again. Charmcaster put up a shield and made the spell book come to her. It was tough, so there was nothing broken on it. "You little brat!" she yelled as she opened the book again, but then Gwen loaded another power string on her blaster before shooting it. This time, one end of the string was in the blaster while the other had some sort of claw-like thing. Like the ones you see on claw prize machines but smaller.
"-AAH!" Charmcaster yelled in surprise as the claw grabbed the spell book and moved it near Gwen. Once the power string was about to be fully retracted, the claw-like end let go of the spell book. Gwen then caught it with her hand. "-GIVE THAT BACK!" Charmcaster shouted, but Gwen just blasted her away. "Agh!" said Charmcaster as she ended up tumbling on the ground. Then, Gwen shot a power string at her which electrocuted and restrained her.
*KZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!* "AAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
While Charmcaster was restrained and trying to get free from the power string, Gwen opened the spell book. She tried to read the pages, but they were all in a language she didn't know. "Wh...What kind of language is this?" she thought as she kept flipping through the pages.
Soon, Charmcaster was able to break free from the string. When she did, she yelled "-GIVE THAT BACK!". Her eyes glowed purple as she started blasting at Gwen, "-WHOA!" Gwen shouted as she started to run. "-COME BACK HERE!" roared Charmcaster as she chased after her.
[Meanwhile...]
In one of the plumbers' ships, some of the plumbers were trying to remove the spell Hex put on Max and Ben. But they were having a REALLY HARD TIME!
"We've been trying to remove the spell for a while now, and we've barely made any progress!"
"Why don't you try that?"
"Alright."
One of the plumbers got some wires and put them on Ben and Max. When he did, he said "Alright, it's ready.". The other plumber then pressed a button. Immediately, energy started flowing through the wires and onto Ben and Max.
*-KZZT-KZZT-KZZZZZZZZZZTTTTTTTTTTTT-FLASH! -KZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT-KZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!*
The energy kept on flowing, but nothing was happening. Finally, after the wires were finished doing their work, Ben and Max were still paralyzed.
"Got any other ideas?"
[Now... back to Gwen...]
"GET BACK HERE! GET BACK HERE!" "-AAH!"
Gwen was still running away from Charmcaster, who kept on trying to use her powers to stop her. But it didn't help as Gwen was dodging the attacks and running fast. Gwen started running in random directions to confuse Charmcaster, which worked a bit. But Charmcaster was still able to follow her. "Hold still you little brat!" Charmcaster roared. Gwen got nervous and ran even faster!
Eventually, Gwen reached a place that was selling clothes. But it was empty because the people ran away when trouble started. Gwen went between shelves of clothes and through metal poles that had clothes hung on them. Charmcaster wasn't paying much attention, so when she was nearing the metal poles, she accidentally bumped into the clothes! Making her fall and making them fall on her!
*KLANG-KLANG-KLANG-DA-DANG-DANG!* "OOMPH!" *CRASH!*
"Uuunnnggghhh..." Charmcaster groaned as she tried to get up. She grabbed on to something as she did, but what she didn't realize was that it was another metal pole that had clothes on it. So when she grabbed it, it started to tilt. -Then...
*KLANG-KLANG-KLANG-DA-DANG-DANG-DANG-DA-DANG-DANG!* "Oogh!" *THUMP!*
The metal pole with clothes fell on her! Charmcaster was buried in clothes, this would prevent her from following Gwen for a while. But still, Gwen better run as fast as she can.
Eventually, Gwen managed to reach where Hex was. When she saw him, she stopped. She tried running away, but Hex heard the rubbing of her shoes on the floor. Then, he saw Gwen holding the spell book. "Th-...-The spell book!" Hex thought before yelling "GIVE THAT BACK YOU BRAT!" and chasing after Gwen. "-UH OH-" Gwen thought as she started running in another direction. But as she was doing so... -she was met by CHARMCASTER! Who blocked her way!
"-AAH!" Gwen yelled in surprise as she looked left and right. She saw Hex and Charmcaster on both sides. "Give that back!" Charmcaster yelled as her eyes glowed a brighter shade of purple. "Sure, if you can catch me!" Gwen replied as she quickly blasted Charmcaster and Hex before starting to run. "Aggh... -RRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Hex yelled angrily, then Chrmcaster reached in her bag and threw stone bombs!
*-BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! -BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! -BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! -BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!*
"-AAH!" Gwen screamed again as she fell down and dropped her blaster by accident. "Hahahahahaha!" Charmcaster laughed as she and Hex went up to her. "I believe you have something that is ours." said Hex as he stuck his hand out to make the spell book come to him. -But just as the spell book was starting to move...
*-BAP! -WHAM!* "OOGH!" *BAM!* "OOF!" *THUMP!*
A plumber jumped from above and kicked him in the face! Sending him flying into a trash bin! "OOGH!" said Hex as he fell down. Then, the plumber punched Charmcaster. Sending her flying into the trash bin as well.
"Thanks." said Gwen, "No problem." replied the plumber. Then, Gwen saw the spell book. It fell when Hex was kicked in the face. She then picked it up. "Hey, what's that?" the plumber asked, "It's those guys' spell book." Gwen replied. "Let me take a look." the plumber added, Gwen handed the plumber the spell book. Then, the plumber got it and began reading. He couldn't understand the language. But he had something that could.
"Here." the plumber said as he pulled out something from one of his suit's secret pockets. Then, he put it in the front of the spell book. "What's that?" asked Gwen, "It's something that can translate this thing." the plumber answered. The thing that the plumber put on the spell book was basically like a plain light blue circular thingy, it could translate what the spell book says. Suddenly, something weird started to happen. It started glowing light blue! "-Wh-What's happening?!" Gwen said a bit nervously, "Wait for it." the plumber replied.
The light grew brighter, and brighter, and brighter, and brighter, and brighter. -Until...
*-FLASH!*
The light blue light suddenly flashed so bright before slowly disappearing! Once the light was gone, Gwen opened the spell book. When she did, she saw that the pages had been translated to English. Gwen gasped as she flipped through the pages. -But then...
*-FLASH!* "-RRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Hex and Charmcaster managed to get back up! Hex ROARED when he did! "-GIVE ME THAT SPELL BOOK!" he shouted, Gwen then looked for a spell that was useful right now that she could instantly use right now. Then, she said "Bopus Malitar!". But... instead of a big water attack, what came out was a splash at Hex and Charmcaster's faces!
*SPLASH! SPLASH!* "-AGH!" "-AGGH!"
Hex and Charmcaster dried their faces with magic. Then, Hex growled and shouted "-GIVE ME THE SPELL BOOK!" before trying to blast Gwen with the staff! Gwen quickly turned the pages of the spell book before yelling "Potenis Otierre!". Immediately, a small yellow shield that was a bit more than enough to cover her suddenly appeared! The shield deflected the staff's blast and made it hit Hex instead! "-AGH!" yelled Hex as he fell down.
"Cool." said the plumber as he gave Gwen a thumbs up, Gwen smiled before flipping through more pages of the spell book. "-GIMME THAT SPELL BOOK!" Charmcaster shouted as she tried using magic to take it from Gwen, but before she could Gwen said "Coralis Erachna!".
*-FWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!* "-AGH!"
Immediately, some fire was shot at Charmcaster! What was strange was that the spell wan't strong as before. Maybe it's because Gwen is just new to this thing while Hex and Charmcaster already have experience? I don't know, but I think that's probably the reason why the Coralis Erachna spell was weaker for Gwen.
"-AGH!" said Charmcaster as she was forced to step back. She healed her burns with magic, then she said "So... just because you have the spell book... you think you stand a chance against us?!". "Evus Avetus!" Gwen tried saying, but when she did... -nothing happened. "Wh...What?!" Gwen said to herself, "Only the ones with experience can use that spell." Charmcaster said smirking, "Now GIMME THAT!" she added before trying to take the spell book from Gwen again.
"Coralis Altiere!"
As soon as Gwen said that, wind started blowing at Charmcaster! "Urgh!" Charmcaster groaned as she tried to fight back against the wind, but it was a bit too quick and strong that it sent her flying! Hex then got back up and rubbed his head. Then, he saw what was happening. He used magic to catch Charmcaster and stop her from flying. Then, he looked angrily at Gwen and roared "-YOU'LL PAY FOR THAT YOU BRAT!". Gwen tried uttering a spell again, but Hex tried using magic to make the spell book come to him! Gwen tried to see if she could use magic as well, she could. But on a weaker level because she was new to this. She and Hex tried to take the spell book from each other.
"-L...-LET GO!" said Gwen, "-RRRGGGHHH!" Hex groaned a bit as he just kept on trying to make the spell book come to him. Charmcaster then threw more stone bombs Gwen's way, but the plumber sent them flying back using the lasers from his blaster.
*-BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! -BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! -BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! -BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!* "-AGGH!" "-OOGH!" *THUMP! THUMP!*
The stone bombs ended up exploding on Hex and Charmcaster! Making them fall again. "Get outta here!" the plumber said to Gwen, then he and Gwen started running. Hex and Charmcaster then got up and rubbed the dust off of them. When they saw Gwen and the plumber running, Charmcaster said "I got this." before summoning purple vines to grab them.
Gwen and the plumber looked back and saw the vines rushing towards them! "-AAH!" Gwen screamed, the plumber then sliced up the vines with his blaster's bayonet before he and Gwen continued to run. "There's no escape!" said Charmcaster as she summoned more vines.
"How do I get outta here fast?!" thought Gwen, then an idea came into her head. But she wasn't sure it was going to work. "Hold on, I think I have an idea." she said to the plumber. Then, she tried her idea out. And it worked! She was now using energy made out magic to propel herself in the air! While Gwen was flying, she grabbed the plumber as well.
"RUN ALL YOU WANT, YOU'LL NEVER BE ABLE TO ESCAPE FROM ME!" roared Hex as he and Charmcaster gave chase. Gwen went even faster to get away from them, while the plumber tried firing his blaster. Another idea then popped into Gwen's head, she aimed her blaster at Hex and Charmcster. But just as she was about to fire a continuous laser from it... she combined the blast with her magic.
*-PEW! -BOOM!*
A big explosion appeared as the blast hit Hex and Charmcaster! Smoke flew everywhere! "Got 'em!" said Gwen before continuing to propel herself in the air while holding the plumber. Once the smoke cleared, it revealed that Hex and Charmcaster were stunned and dizzy. They groaned laying flat on the floor.
"...Uuunnnggghhh..." "...Oooggghhh..."
Gwen kept propelling herself using magic, eventually she managed to reach one of the plumbers' ships. She then stopped flying and landed her and the plumber safely on the ground. When she did, she and the plumber could hear strange sounds coming from the ship? "What's that?" asked Gwen, "I dunno, let's check it out." the plumber replied as he and Gwen did.
Once Gwen and the plumber went inside the ship, they found the plumbers that were trying to find a way to take the spell Hex put on Ben and Max off of them. "-Wh...-What happened here?" asked Gwen, "We're trying to find a way to remove the paralyzation spell that Hex put on Ben and Max." one of the plumbers answered. Gwen gasped when she heard what the plumber said and looked at Ben and Max. They were still paralyzed. "M-Maybe I can help." Gwen added as she got the spell book. "What's that?" one of the plumbers asked, "Just something I got from when I was fighting Hex and Charmcaster." Gwen replied as she flipped through the pages to look for a spell that would work on Ben and Max.
Gwen searched through the spell book for a while, the light blue circular thingy the plumber put on the book could tell what spells she could use or not. Eventually, Gwen found a spell that could work. "Aha!" she said, "You sure this is gonna work?" the plumber asked. "I'm not sure, but we gotta try." Gwen replied before saying "Cesseris Deveau Amnere Dassiu Kamakosa!"
*-FLASH!*
Yellow energy flashed at Ben and Max, when the light disappeared. It revealed that... -the spell DIDN'T WORK?! "D-Did it work?" one of the plumbers asked, "N-No I don't think so." replied Gwen. Ben and Max were STILL not moving! "Let me try again." Gwen continued as she tried uttering the spell again.
*-FLASH!*
But when Gwen tried using the spell again, it STILL didn't work! "-H...-HUH?!" Gwen said in surprise. "Maybe Hex's spell is stronger." said one of the plumbers, "Maybe." another one added. "So what do we do now?" the other plumber asked, "I don't know, let's just keep trying to find a way to get the paralyzation spell off of Ben and Max?" the second plumber replied. "Alright." replied the first plumber as he and the other two got to work. Meanwhile, Gwen looked through the spell book to see if there were any other spells she could use.
[Meanwhile...]
"-WHERE IS THAT BRAT?!"
*SMASH!*
Hex was FURIOUS! Gwen managed to get away from him and Charmcaster and get the spell book. Hex tried locating the spell book using magic, but he was having a bit of a hard time doing so. "Do you know where it is now uncle?" asked Charmcaster, "No, but I will find it soon." Hex replied. Hex would normally be able to locate the spell book easily, but since Gwen had it and Gwen didn't want Hex to find it he couldn't do it as easily. Normally Hex would be able to do anything with the spell book, but since Gwen had it he could only do some things now. Tracking it down easily not being one of them.
[Now... back to Gwen...]
Gwen kept on trying to find a spell that would get rid of Hex's spell on Ben and Max. But she couldn't. Sometimes, she would use the spell she tried using earlier to remove the effect of Hex's spell. But she couldn't do that either. -Then...
"AHA! Found you! You little brat!" "-H-Huh?!" *-FLASH!* "-AAH!"
Hex and Charmcaster found Gwen! "-H-Huh?!" Gwen said surprised as she looked at them. Hex used the staff to blast Gwen, "-AAH!" Gwen yelled as she tried escaping. But the blast hit her first and sent her flying into the front windows of the ship!
*-BAM!* "-OOMPH!"
Gwen groaned as she got back up. But then... just as Hex was about to attack again, the plumbers started firing at him!
*-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW-PEW!*
"Agh!" Hex groaned, Charmcaster reached into her bag again and threw the bat-like creatures (I'll call them stone bats from now on.) at Gwen! The plumbers tried fending off the stone bats, but they were small and agile. So they were able to get to Gwen fast! They were pretty strong as well. Together, they were able to carry Gwen to Hex and Charmcaster.
"-LET GO!" said Gwen as she tried to get free of the stone bats' grips, but it was no use. Once Gwen was near Hex and Charmcaster, Hex floated forward a bit and said "You really are a pesky one aren't you?". Gwen then struggled again to get free from Hex's magic, but it didn't help either. "I will take care of you now." Hex said in a calm but venomous voice, then he began to try to figure out how to remove Gwen's plumber suit. But since he knew nothing about the suit he had a hard time doing so. The plumbers then fired again, but Hex put up a big shield. Taking the chance, Gwen headbutted Hex!
*BAM!* "Oomph!" *THUMP!*
As Hex fell, Gwen saw the Staff Of Ages fall as well. She tried to get it, but Charmcaster beat her to it first. "Not a chance!" Charmcaster said smirking as she got the staff before saying "Atrenalis Pitralis!", "Potenis Otierre!" Gwen yelled as a shield covered her deflecting Charmcaster's blast. "-AAH!" Charmcaster yelled as she got out of the way when the direction of her blast started coming back to her. Charmcaster wasn't hit, but she got angry and yelled "That's it you little brat!" before forming purple magic in her hands. "Ablita Plazita!" Gwen yelled again. Ice began to form all over Charmcaster, freezing her. "Pretty "cool" huh?" Gwen joked before laughing a bit. Unforntunately, Charmcaster was able to free herself by breaking the ice using magic!
*SMASH!*
Gwen gasped and tried using magic blasts, Charmcaster just blocked them with another shield and went up to her before punching her! "Argh!" yelled Gwen as she fell, then a plumber leapt and punched Charmcaster in the stomach before kicking her away! The other two plumbers then ran and piled up on her to prevent her from moving.
Meanwhile, Hex was finally able to get back up again. "Rrrggghhh!" he grunted before making the Staff Of Ages come to his hand. But what he didn't realize was that another plumber was sneaking up behind him. When the plumber got close to Hex, he leapt at him before putting handcuffs on him!

The handcuffs electrocuted Hex! Making him fall again. Another plumber then started shooting power strings at him! Tying the magician up and electrocuting him more!

"STOP THEM!" another plumber yelled as he and the ohters tried restraining Hex and Charmcaster, but they had a hard time doing so. -Just then...

Some plumber ships flew high in the sky! The plumbers that were in them saw Hex and Charmcaster. "Look!" one of the plumbers on the ground said as he pointed at the ships. "GET OUT OF THE WAY!" one of the plumbers from one of the ships said through the microphone. So the plumbers on the ground got out of the way. When they did, the plumber ships swooped down on Hex and Charmcaster while firing lasers at them! Hex and Charmcaster tried to do something, but it was too late as they were taken away by one of the plumbers' ships! "It's ok now! You guys can keep on trying to get the spell Hex put on Ben and Max off of them!" another plumber from one of the ships spoke through the mic.
The plumbers smiled, Gwen was about to go back inside the ship Ben and Max were in when she saw something on the ground. "-H...-Huh?" she said, then... -she GASPED in surprise! "-Wh-What? What is it?" a plumber asked, "Look!" replied Gwen before going up to the thing that was on the ground and grabbing it. When she did, the plumbers were astonished as well! Turns out the thing that fell on the ground was THE STAFF OF AGES! Then, Gwen had an idea. "I... -I can use this to help Ben and grandpa!" she said, "Then go!" a plumber replied as he, Gwen and the others went back inside the ship.
Once Gwen and the plumbers went inside the ship, Gwen got ready. "Ok little girl, go!" said one of the plumbers. Gwen then went up to Ben and Max before raising the staff up. Then, she began flipping through the spell book's pages. When she found the page she needed, she said
"Cesseris Deveau Amnere Dassiu Kamakosa!"
*-FLASH!*
The Staff Of Ages started blasting at Ben and Max, yellow energy flashed through their bodies. Gwen watched as the light grew brighter and brighter.
*-FLASH! -FLASH! -FLASH! -FLASH! -FLASH! -FLASH!*
When the light disappeared, Gwen opened her eyes. Then, she could hear Ben and Max's voices.
Ben: *Makes animalistic sounds*
Max: *Groans* Wh...What happened?
Gwen gasped, what she did worked. But Ben was still a dog, so she tried to find a spell that would turn him back to normal. When she did, she said "Attorius Madus!".
*-FLASH! -FLASH! -FLASH! -FLASH! -FLASH! -FLASH!*
The staff shot another magic blast at Ben. Slowly, Ben was losing some of his body parts. His ears and tail began to go away, and so did his fur. His hands were slowly turning back into a human's. What was happening to Ben went on for a while. -Until...
*-FLASH!*
The light disappeared. "H-Huh?" Ben said as he looked at himself. When he did, he saw that he was back to normal again. "-H...-Huh? -I...-I'm me again? -ALRIGHT!" Ben said, then he looked at his left wrist. "Hey, the Omnitrix's back!" he added.
"Ben! Grandpa! You two are back!" said Gwen, "Yeah." replied Ben, then he added "But how?". Gwen then showed him the spell book and the Staff Of Ages, "-WH...-WHAT?! -H...-HOW DID YOU GET THAT STAFF?! -And... -YOU did this?!" Ben said shocked. "1, I got it when it was accidentally left by Hex when a plumber ship took him and Charmcaster away. And 2, yes." Gwen replied. "Thanks." said Ben, "No problem." said Gwen.
*-SMASH!* "-HUH?!" "-HUH?!" "-HUH?!"
Suddenly, the Tennysons and the plumbers heard something SMASH into the ground! When they looked to see what it was, they could see smoke forming in the distance! Then... -they saw Hex and Charmcaster floating in the air! The Tennysons and the plumbers gasped as they saw Hex and Charmcaster coming their way!
"FIRE!" yelled a plumber as he and the others started firing at the magic duo. But it was no use. "It's hero time!" Ben said as he activated the Omnitrix and started twisting the dial. As he was looking for a good alien, he saw the icon of a new one! "Whoa, who's this guy?" Ben wondered, then the Omnitrix started doing something. It revealed information about the new alien. Apparently, the new alien was a geochelone aerio. It was a turtle-like creature that had turtle-like flippers for hands and big tortoise-like feet for walking or running. Geochelone aerios can make their limbs into three big flipper-like limbs and spin them fast so that they become like a powerful electric fan. And here's another thing, it also said that magic DOSEN'T WORK on geochelone aerios.
"-COOL!" said Ben, then he added "Now I'll have protection against magic!" before slamming the dial down.
*-FLASH!*
Turtle-like skin began to cover Ben's body, then a shell started developing on his back. Finally, his body started to change. And the Omnitrix popped up on his chest.
*FLASH!*
"Whoa!" said Ben as he looked at himself. If you've watched Ben 10, I'm sure you know who this transformation is. But if you don't know, then I'll tell you. It's Terraspin, but our Ben hasn't named his version of Terraspin yet.
"Alright, let's see what this guy can do." said Ben as he started turning his limbs into three big flippers and using them as a way to make himself fly. "Woohoo! This is awesome! Alright!" Ben continued as he started flying.
Hex and Charmcaster were still flying, when Charmcaster saw Ben in the distance. "Uhh... uncle? What's that?" she asked, "Huh?" said Hex as he looked at where Charmcaster was pointing. -Then...
*-BAM!* "-OOF!" "-OW!"
Something hit them! It was Ben! Hex and Charmcaster managed to stop themselves from falling, then they looked across. When they did, they saw Ben. Who said "You guys are going down! Literally!". Hex's eyes glowed red for a while, then he said "So you've turned back to normal and and managed to get your abilities back. I see." before rushing towards Ben! Who was doing the same thing.
"-HRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" "-RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" *-BAM!*
As Hex and Ben were charging towards each other, they managed to hit each other. But neither of them seemed to be affected that much. Charmcaster tried helping Hex by throwing stone bats, but Ben blew them away. Hex and Charmcaster were also blown back. But they managed to stop themselves from being blown away.
"-YOU LITTLE-" growled Hex as he tried using a magic blast, but Ben dodged and hit him! "Evus Avetus!" yelled Charmcaster, sending a tornado Ben's way! "-WHOAWHOAWHOAWHOAWHOAWHOAWHOAWHOAWHOAWHOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Ben yelled as he got sucked in the tornado!
*-FWOOSH-FWOOSH-FWOOSH-FWOOSH-FWOOSH-FWOOSH-FWOOSH-FWOOSH-FWOOSH-FWOOSH-FWOOSH-FWOOSH-FWOOSH-*
"-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Ben shouted as he tried to get out of the tornado, but he couldn't. Then, something happened while he was trying to get out. He got stuck on the outside part of the tornado and was now spinning even faster! "-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Ben kept on shouting as he got spun around even more!
"Coralis Erachna!" said Charmcaster, adding fire to the tornado! "-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Ben shouted even more as he saw the fire spreading more on the tornado. But then... just as the fire was about to reach him...
*FWOOSH! -CHAKK-CHAKK! -FWOOSH-FWOOSH-FWOOSH-FWOOSH! -FWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!*
Something saved him! It looked like... the claw-ended version of a power string? It turns out Gwen saw what was happening to Ben and decided to save him. With her blaster and the power string, Gwen managed to pull Ben out of the tornado.
"H-Huh?" said Ben as he was flying and looking around to see who saved him. When he looked down, he saw Gwen waving and smiling. Ben smiled in response before going after Hex and Charmcaster again. "GET HIM!" growled Hex as he and Charmcaster tried using magic blasts at Ben. However, since Ben was a geochelone aerio he had protection against magic. The magic blasts were deflected by his body. "-WH...-WHAT?!" Charmcaster said shocked.
Ben then started blowing Charmcaster and Hex away, sending them onto a wall. Gwen then used magic to create some claw like things that grabbed them. Hex and Charmcaster tried to break free using their own magic, but it didn't work. "-WH-WHAT?!" said Hex surprised, then he looked down. He saw that Gwen was using the Staff Of Ages to boost her magic! "-GIVE THAT BACK!" Hex yelled as he tried to use his magic, but before he could Gwen yelled "Atrenalis Pitralis!".
*-FLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! -FLASH! -FLASH! -FLASH!*
"Agh!" Hex and Charmcaster yelled before a magic blast hit them! Since Hex and Charmcaster were powerful, the spell didn't affect them that much. But it was a bit hard to move for them. "-Uuu... -UUURRRGGGHHH!" groaned Hex as he tried to move normally, but couldn't.
"-Wh...-WHAT?!" Gwen said shocked, "Maybe you need a stronger spell." a plumber said. So Gwen looked through the spell book's pages again before she found the spell she needed.
"Sankna Tuvna Merachta Abalos Misshio Dentva Pitralis Mankna!"
As soon as Gwen said that, yellow energy started to form on the Staff Of Ages' mouth. Then, it turned into a big continuous blast that was heading straight for Hex and Charmcaster! "-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Hex yelled as he and Charmcaster tried harder to get free from the claw-like things Gwen made. But it was no use, and the magic blast hit them. Paralyzing them completely.
*-FLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!*
"Got 'em!" said Gwen pumping her fist as she looked at Hex and Charmcaster, who were now paralyzed. Then, Ben swooped down on Hex and Charmcaster's directions before SMASHING them into the wall!
*-BAM! -CRASH! -CRASH! -SMASH! -CRASH! -CRASH-CRASH-SMASH-CRASH-CRASH-SMASH-SMASH-CRASH!*
After Ben smashed into Hex and Charmcaster, the magic duo fell down fast. Then, big broken chunks from the wall started falling down on them! Soon, Hex and Charmcaster were buried in the rubble.
When Hex and Charmcaster were buried, smoke flew everywhere! Ben blew all the smoke away, before going over to the rubble to see if Hex and Charmcaster would still be able to fight back or pull something sneaky. Ben moved the pieces of the wall out of the way. When he did, he saw that Hex and Charmcaster were still paralyzed. But surprisingly, they didn't have any injuries or anything. They were ok, they were just paralyzed. "Well, that takes care of 'em." Ben said, "Way to go Ben and Gwen!" yelled Max from the distance.
[Some Time Later...]
Everything was good again. The people who's appearances were affected by what Hex and Charmcaster did were back to normal, Hex and Charmcaster were taken away by alien police, Ben was back to normal and almost everything that was damaged from the fights were repaired or replaced with the help of the plumbers and some other superheroes.
Ben: And presto, those two crazy people are gone.
Gwen: Yeah. But I'm wondering... -why'd this thing stop working?
The Staff Of Ages stopped working, no one knew why. Maybe because Gwen was just a beginner? Maybe the staff only has a limited amount of energy for beginners? Maybe something happened? I don't know, but it stopped working.
"Lemme see that." said Ben as he tapped the staff and tried doing stuff with it. But nothing happened. "Huh. It really did stop working." he said, "What're we gonna do now?" asked Gwen. "Well, we, the plumbers and the other superheroes tried making it work. But none of us could." Ben replied, "I guess we'll keep this somewhere." said Gwen. "Yeah." agreed Ben.
Gwen opened a compartment in the Rustbucket before putting the Staff Of Ages there. Then, she closed and locked the compartment. "There." she said, "Now it's safe." said Ben.
Ben and Gwen got back to the Rustbucket's table. Then, they had a bit of a chat.
Gwen: Y'know Ben... I've been thinking...
Ben: About what?
Gwen: Some of the bad guys we face are SUPER TOUGH. The things that we usually use to fight them with like the Omnitrix and the plumber gear sometimes isn't enough.
Ben: So? What's your point here? I thought we already knew that.
Gwen: Now, with the help of things like the spell book we'll stand more of a chance against super tough bad guys. I can help you guys with the spell book.
Ben: And when the bad guys' magic attacks get tough, I can use this new form I call Terraspin.
Gwen: Neat.
The Tennysons just beat two baddies who's powers were magic. And the battle proved tougher than they thought. If they're going to try and not get beaten by super tough bad guys, they'll need to improve. But for now, they won the battle. But soon, the battles might get harder and harder. So they'll need to keep improving. But for now, this is the end of this episode.
