They came for the last-tailed beast that left Thought Minato, which is what they meant when they said people were taking their jinchurikis.
The 9 tails were absorbed into the statue, then a colossal 10-tailed beast emerged, and Minato, without thinking, used the reaper death seal to seal this beast with 10 tails behind it into his child, instantly going to the Rinnegan, but something strange happened inside his Rinnegan. There were nine tomes 3 in each of the first three a year, the 10-tailed beast's power was gradually drained, and it became all the other 9-tailed beasts. Naruto's eyes went back to normal, and Minato was shocked. He had the Rinnegan with him, and he could turn it off, but then his soul started getting put into the Shinigami. Minato asked the Shinigami for one request as a dying hokage. Minato asked the Shinigami if he could make sure everyone treated him like a hero for containing this beast. The Shinigami said he could not do that because he could not intervene from day to day, but he could do something else. He could split the 10 tails into 9 other tailed beasts in Naruto, but the 10 tails would recover in a year along with all the other tailed beasts. Naruto asked if that would help him in the future, and the Shinigami said yes, and since you are a hokage respected by all nations, I will throw in something extra. I will give him perfect chakra control because if I don't, he will never be able to use any normal jutsu because he has too much chakra, and I will boost the power of both your wife and your bloodline. Minato, this is the gift I give you, along with two others.
