"That's why her hair is so big. It's full of secrets." -Damian Leigh
Jericho was well known for his hair. It was a golden hue with soft curls shaping his face sweetly. It bounced when he skipped down the halls, and ruffled up when a strong breeze blew through it. Overall his hair was undeniably adorable and everyone had to play with it because who could resist?
Starfire would braid flowers into his locks during her free time, the Herald would pat his head when passing, flattening his waves back above his eyebrows, even Raven would on occasions brush a strand or two out of his eyes when she would meditate next to him as he strummed his guitar. His hair was his fortune.
But there was a problem, something that little Jericho dealt with everyday when he saw his reflection. Despite being almost thirteen now not a single sign of puberty appeared anywhere on his body. And no matter how much he waited his cheeks still were as smooth as the day he was born. He wanted sideburns, desperately. He wanted them so badly in fact that he grew two ringlets on the side of his face longer than the rest just to hang as temporary replacements. And because of this according to all the other titans (also villains-creepy) he looked even cuter.
Beast Boy said he looked like a hobbit on a quest to destroy some ring in Mordor or whatever that means (Jericho was still really behind in pop culture).
Kid Flash one time told him he could be Bob Ross's son (he actually knew this one and was kinda proud to be compared to a legendary painter).
Robin and Speedy would shoot glares his way whenever the girls fawned over him, sneaking glances in their utility belt mirrors to check their own hair.
He sighed silently standing in the bathroom gazing at his face.
'Maybe in a couple days I'll have sideburns?' Jericho pondered examining the sides of his head. He wasn't very hopeful about this though since he had been making the same wish every day for the last two years. But he was a Wilson, and had seen his brother grow whiskers overnight, his father practically almost every hour.
Perhaps Grant was right, and he was adopted.
