Chapter 3
The roommates of Tamara sat around the dinner table together watching Emma Hatch serve on the plates a portion of Mac and Cheese then delivered it to each person who sat.
"There you go Stiles, with extra Parmesan cheese," Emma commented giving out a dish with a large amount of grated cheese making the brunette man smile.
"Thank you," The man answered quietly, which reacted to the name Stiles. He's the oldest member of the household with 27 years and has brown hair, wears a red and black checkered jacket and light brown pants. He's also the shy one in the household.
"Mmh this smells tasty" Replied Blair the police officer. She's the youngest in the household. She's a blonde, wearing a purple blouse with pink roses on it and a purple skirt.
"This smells positive to me, good Job Emma" replied Cyclon3. He's the savvy-tech freak of the household, which has got brown hair and wears a dark purple cap and black glasses. He wears a dark purple jacket and gray pants.
"I'm glad you guys like it, bon appetite," Wished Emma watching all adults begin to eat their dinner.
"Hey Xander, I'm thinking about talking to my boss tomorrow morning to ask her if she knows anyone who wants to be in a better area. Her husband works in a warehouse and could use good hands. If you're interested I ask...Also if they a actually accept people. I'm not sure if they need people,"
"That would be great if you could get to know something from there,"
"Great, I see if I can talk with her tomorrow" Tamara confirmed earning a nod from Xander, afterwards Cycl0n3 raised up his arm to get the brunette's attention.
"If they are looking for an IT guy I could be their man" Stated the brunette man earning a nod from the woman.
"That's great but I don't think they need you at the moment"
"Too bad, I can't stand to work together with Mr. Bachelor anymore," Added Cycl0n3 making Xander lift his left eyebrow after hearing the name.
"That's the guy that assisted my mom during first aid" Mentioned the short-haired man.
"He's a quite correct man, he's just annoying as heck to work with" Explained the man earning a nod from the guest.
"Okay, seems legit" Mentioned Xander, then watched the blonde on the table Blair move her hand up on the table to earn Emma's attention.
"Either Tamara or you could lean me a hand. Has anyone of you got a dress or a set of formal clothing I could borrow for work?" Questioned Blair.
"Perhaps Tamara is a good pick for you," Mentioned Emma. "I don't have lots of formal dresses, that could fit you,"
"I could have some, that might fit you. From my high school time," Mentioned the dark-skinned girl. "After dinner, you can come and check it out with me,"
"Thank you," Responded Blair, then watched Emma return to the kitchen to check the oven, then glimpsed out of the window to see somebody enter into the house next door.
"Hey Emma, who are you checking out?" Asked Tamara teasingly as she sat down next to her friend Xander and he paid attention to the new woman as well.
"I wasn't checking out anybody. I happen to notice my friend Ayesha enter the loft beside us," Mentioned Emma making Tamara nod.
"Who's Ayesha?" Questioned Xander curious about the foreign name.
"I haven't met her yet, I just heard about Emma talking about her sometimes. They're good friends," Responded Tamara, then Emma returned to the table to sit down.
"Exactly, Tamara," Responded Emma. "I met her at night school along with a few other men. We both were the only women in Oasis Springs to attend the school there. Easy it was for us, cause we weren't parents as the other women, that left at some point due to family needs,"
"Did something happen to you, that you didn't have the chance to finish high school?" Questioned Xander making Emma nod.
"I had an accident, that led me after a few months to a depression and I quit school. Upon attending therapy I slowly came back to life and decided to at least try to repeat the last year of high school at the night school. That's where I met Ayesha then. Her issue was a bit more complex. When she was a young baby she was lost by her older brother and landed on a foreign family's farm, which didn't really take well care of her and she left at one point, landing in an orphanage near Oakmont Valley. Not being quite fond of rules as a teenager, she ran off again and made herself a living as a con artist and thief. At this moment, she's employed at a warehouse and the chef there had encountered her tricking out people and offered her a chance to change her life. He paid for her to visit the night school and as far as I know, she's still there employed,"
"Isn't it the one from Nick Alto per coincidence?" Questioned Tamara making Emma shrug her shoulders.
"I don't remember," Mentioned Emma.
"Who's this Ayesha again? It does ring a bell to me, but I don't remember the face," Questioned Cycl0n3, then Emma pointed at a wall, which had various photos stuck on it, afterward the light-brunette got up along with the man, Xander, and Tamara to look at the images.
"That's her," Mentioned Emma showing a picture at the beach at a barbecue party, where Emma had been present along with Ayesha and a few other people standing in line for the image. "The others are the former classmates from nightschool, Chris Armstrong, Tanner York, and Argus Brown," Emma introduced to the new household member, which nodded.
"You said Ayesha wasn't from here, right?" Questioned Xander making Emma nod.
"She moved recently next door with my help. She used to be in a pension in Riverview. It was a little too expensive for her only, so she's now up there,"
"I'm actually referring to her origins," Mentioned Xander watching Emma hold her hand in front of her mouth embarrassed.
"Oh that…..well actually I don't know it. She doesn't know it either, she just knows her full name and it's somehow a Persian name,"
"Okay," Responded Xander, then Tamara nudged the friend with her elbow. "What?"
"What do you think? She kind of would suit you,"
"I don't even know her," Commented Xander making Tamara snort.
"Sorry to burst your bubble, she's…..not interested in a relationship right now," Mentioned Emma making Xander nod.
"Did she have a bad one before?" Questioned Tamara making Emma shrug her shoulders.
"It wasn't a bad relationship. I think it had something to do with both having a very different work schedule. She never openly talked to me about it, but I believe there's more behind this,"
"Interesting," Commented Xander hearing about that. "Perhaps she or her ex feared a long-term relationship with lots of issues,"
"Or he wasn't the right one," Added Emma. "You know not everyone finds their Romeo or Juliet right ahead. Sometimes, that person even might be right beside you," Emma mentioned passing between Tamara and Xander, which glimpsed at each other, then Tamara began to laugh.
"Xander's like my younger brother. Funnily nothing has ever happened between us,"
"Who knows," Commented Cycl0n3 looking at the other pictures around the wall to spot another one of Blair Wainwright attending the barbecue of the Bunch family. "Hey….wasn't this guy employed at the doo peas towers once?" Questioned Cycl0n3 earning the attention of Tamara, which looked at the picture and shrugged her shoulders.
"He…...that was the guy, that was married to Fiona from the bureau," Answered Tamara making Cycl0n3 nod.
"I haven't seen him in a while," Spoke the brunette man, making Tamara frown.
"Maybe, because he died?" Questioned Tamara perplexed at the man's forgetfulness.
"What happened to him?" Questioned Xander.
"We were around 15 or 16 years old when he died. Remember hearing about a drunken man falling off a cliff?" Questioned Tamara making Xander nod. "He used to be married to one of Cycl0n3's work pals and….he wasn't quite a pleasant guy as described by a few people. His wife ran off with her daughter to flee his violent demeanor, but he figured it out easily and followed the…."
"And lost….."Added Blair approaching the group by the wall. "I read about it in the news years ago. I think I knew his daughter. She's attending high school down there,"
"You know a lot about many people. That's kinda creepy," Mentioned Stiles, who sat by the table eating dinner.
"I work in law enforcement. I sometimes need to question people about certain things. Wait a few months and I'll be higher up at my career," Promised the blonde making the man nod and continue eating. "He's so weird," Whispered Blair to Tamara, which chuckled at the woman's comment.
"You're totally fresh out of high school," confirmed Tamara making Xander chuckle.
