The Chica Show's 10th Anniversary Celebration!

A Chica Show crossover fanfic

By Madeline Fretz

Based on a DeVario Lopez video and two WigglesWorld specials

It was another day in the Costume Coop, a small costume shop in Philadelphia. Kelly and Mr. and Mrs. C were getting ready for a big party that night in the shop - they were blowing balloons and hanging up decorations. They had even ordered a cake!

Meanwhile, Chica was running around and jumping up and down in the Coop - she couldn't wait for the guests to arrive.

"They'll be here soon, Tweety." Chica's dad John, otherwise known as Mr. C, smiled. "We've invited some of our Sprout friends as well as characters from other children's shows - ZOOM, Arthur, Blue's Clues, Yo Gabba Gabba!, and Tweenies."

Jennifer, otherwise known as Mrs. C, agreed. "We wanted to invite some more folks, but we couldn't fit everybody."

Suddenly, I entered the shop, along with some Sprout fan friends of mine - Coner, Alex, Cameron, Lillian, Jayson, Stanley, and Rolex, most of whom were from the Sprout discord server. All of us were wearing party clothes.

"Hey Maddie, first to arrive?" Kelly asked.

"Yup." I nodded as we put our presents on a table.

"And I see you've brought along some Sprout fans from YouTube and Discord, right?" asked Mrs. C.

"Yep." Cameron nodded before turning to Chica. "Hey Chica, I can't believe it's your birthday today!"

"Actually, it's September 26th, but it's been 10 years since she got her own show, so we're celebrating a secondary birthday tonight." Mr. C reassured the Sprout fan.

"Oh, okay." Cameron smiled. Chica thanked him for his compliment anyways, and he then turned to Kelly. "Hey Kel, any idea on what we're having for the party tonight?"

"Hmm … let's see … we're having cake, cookies, drinks, vegetable platters, pizza (both cheese and pepperoni of course), candy, Chick-Fil-A, and something we'll make later."

"Cool, what is it?" asked Stanley.

"If I told you, it wouldn't be a surprise." Kelly explained. She then got a phone call, and reached for her candlestick phone on the counter. "Hello, how may I help you play today?"

The phone call came from the ZOOMers. "Hey Kelly. It's us." Kaleigh explained.

"Hey guys, what's up?"

"We had to stop at a local 7-Eleven since most of us were hungry." Rachel continued.

"...That implies Buzz, especially Buzz." Caroline groaned.

"Yeah, that's me! I'm always hungry!" Buzz commented. The ZOOMers and Kelly laughed.

"So, what time are we supposed to get here?" Eric asked.

"Anytime you want, just don't be late." Kelly smiled.

"Okay, got it!" Kenny snapped as Kaleigh hung up. "So, who's ready to part-ay?"

The ZOOMers cheered and jeered as they got on the train that would take them from Boston to Philadelphia for the party.

Kelly hung up as well. "They better not be late, they better not be late."

Jett the Delivery Man then entered the Costume Coop. "Hey Jett, you got another costume?" asked Mrs. C.

"No, but I do have a birthday … err, anniversary card, and it's for Chica." Jett smiled.

"Oh, okay." Mrs. C replied as she handed her forever 4-year-old daughter the card. "This one's for you, tweetpea!"

Chica read the card and let us all look at it. It read:

"Dear Chica,

We're all so excited about your show turning ten, we love watching you and hope you have a great day today.

Hugs and wishes,

Francine, Muffy, Daniel Tiger and his family, P09TechGuruGuy, the Baby Einstein gang, and your friends from Sesame Street."

"So, that's from your friends that couldn't make it, huh?" asked Lillian.

Kelly and Mr. and Mrs. C nodded. "Thanks for the car, Jett." Mr. C told the delivery guy.

"You're welcome." Jett replied. "You know what?"

"What?" we all asked.

"Mind if I stay here for the party?"

We all accepted.

"Well, another guest on the board!" Kelly exclaimed.

Suddenly, the door rang. "I wonder who it is." Mrs. C said as she went to open it.

It was Arthur Read and his family - his sister D.W., parents David and Jane, and grandma Thora. "Arthur, nice to see you! Come on in!" Mrs. C told the Reads as they walked inside the coop.

"So, how was your week?" asked Kelly.

"Buster and I had an all-night movie marathon - we watched every Bionic and Dark Bunny movie, and D.W. didn't bother us one bit!" Arthur explained.

"Ooh, nice to hear that!" Kelly beamed.

Chica was still bouncy. We all noticed, especially Kelly, who went over to the squeaky chicken. "Wow, all the guests are arriving in less than a minute, huh, Chica?"

Chica nodded while jumping up and down repeatedly.

"What's up?" asked Jayson.

Chica squeaked something out loud.

"You can't wait for the other guests to arrive?" Kelly asked.

"I know Chica, but we have to learn how to be patient." I explained before turning to my Sprout fan friends. "So, what's your favorite episode of the show? I like Tweet Dreams Chica the best, as well as Bock a Doodle Loo Chica, Cowgirls and Cowchickens, and Blue Ribbon Chica."

"Probably Chica Fancy Fish, since a friend and I once saw it on demand." Cameron replied.

"I like Snow Princess Chica the best." commented Lillian.

"While we wait for the others, you know who else is coming?" asked Rolex. Chica squeaked at him.

"The Gabba Gang and the ZOOMers, that's right!" Mr. C added. "The Kissing Game, quality time, I can't wait another minute!"

"No, not them!" Cameron pointed out. "One of them is a show that encourages kids to send in their ideas and another is a trippy show with costumed characters dancing. I do hate the show, but I don't mind the fact that they're coming."

"Well, DJ Lance and the gang are good friends of ours, so we invited them." Kelly replied.

"Besides, Cam, I heard you didn't like ZOOM at first, but now you like it." I told Cameron, who nodded.

Chica squeaked - she wanted the people she mentioned to come now.

"Chica, remember what we told you earlier - you have to be patient, that means waiting for things." Kelly told the chicken. "Remember?"

Suddenly, we heard a rooster crow coming from the Mr. C cuckoo clock. Kelly then turned to all of us. "The coop is closing, but we're not done. Let's lock up the shop and have some more fun!"

Mr. C:

Well, we've worked hard all day, but now it's time to stop.

Mrs. C:

Time to put our things away and close this little shop

Mr. C:

So wipe the counter…

Mrs. C: ...And mop the floor.

Mr and Mrs. C:

It's a party tonight so we'll stay some more!

"Did someone say one more time?" Mrs. C asked.

Mr. and Mrs. C:

It's a party tonight so we'll stay some more!

"Man, ten years of singing this song and it never gets old!" Mr. C chuckled.

"You can say that again!" Alex replied.

"So, you're ApproximateOstrich, right?" Mr. C asked. Alex nodded.

Chica then turned the usual "Open/Closed" sign around, revealing a sign with a costume box. Just then, two eggs hopped out of the cuckoo clock, transforming Bunji, the Costume Coop pet rabbit, and Stitches, the ragdoll mannequin, into cartoons. The two then ran to the coop's stage.

Chica and Kelly transformed into cartoons too and also walked to the stage. "Time to dress up and play!" Kelly exclaimed. Everyone then cheered.

In the animated world, Kelly, Chica, Stitches, and Bunji were all chefs in a kitchen, supposedly one in a restaurant.

"Alright Chica, we're making something for our show's anniversary party." Stitches told the chicken.

Chica squeaked, wondering what it was.

"You'll see." Kelly replied, before turning to Bunji and Stitches. "Okay, first, we preheat the oven to 300 and 50 degrees fahrenheit." Bunji did so.

They then added one and a half pounds of ground beef, ¼ cup of chopped white onion, two beaten large eggs, a cup of bread crumbs, a cup of cold milk, a tablespoon of worcestershire sauce, ¼ teaspoon of dried sage, a half a teaspoon of salt, a half a teaspoon of ground mustard, ¼ teaspoon of black pepper, a finely chopped garlic clove, and 3 slices of fresh, white bread torn into little tiny pieces, mixing them all together.

Chica saw her three friends and squeaked at them, asking if they were making a meatloaf.

"How did you guess, Chica?" asked Stitches.

Chica told them that she saw them using ingredients to make meatloaves.

"Good guessing, Chica." Kelly complimented. "We're also preparing carrots and sweetpeas."

"Carrots? Did somebody say carrots?" Bunji said in surprise. After all, he loved carrots. "Anyways, what do we do now?"

"Watch." Kelly smiled as she put lines of bright red tomato ketchup on the meatloaf. Stitches inserted the meat thermometer and put it in the oven for sixty minutes - that's an hour.

"Alright Chica, now we're going to put the meatloaf in the oven for an hour and sixty minutes." explained Bunji.

Chica, once again, couldn't wait, and jumped up and down in excitement, waiting for the meatloaf to cook so everyone at the party could have it.

"Chica, remember, there are lots of fun things to do while you wait." Kelly told Chica.

"Like play games, sing songs..." Stitches started.

"...Wait!" Bunji stopped the ragdoll. "We could do all of those while waiting for the meatloaf!"

Chica liked that idea.

"That's a great idea, Bunji!" Kelly beamed, so the quartet got to work playing fun games and activities. In fact, they had so much fun that they forgot about the meatloaf.

After sixty minutes had passed, they heard a beeping sound coming from the kitchen. "Did you hear that guys?" asked Stitches.

"Ooh, that can only mean one thing…" Bunji started.

"...Our meatloaf is ready!" everyone shouted.

Chica squeaked something, and Kelly commented. "That's right, Chica, and we can also serve it with carrots and peas. Everyone can have a slice!"

"Hey Chica, you still a picky eater when it comes to peas?" wondered Stitches. Chica shook her head - she could now eat peas and other foods most kids think are yucky without any problem.

With that, Chica and her friends got their meatloaf out of the oven.

Back at the Costume Coop, all the guests were there and we started chatting to one another. Kelly and Chica, as well as their meatloaf with carrots and peas, were beamed back to the shop and were surprised to see them.

"Hey Tweetpea, look who's here!" Mrs. C beamed.

"SURPRISE!" we all shouted. Chica gasped, and we started to sing a song.

Happy, happy birthday to you

Happy, happy birthday to you (Hooray!)

You're good to grow

So count the candles and blow

Happy, happy birthday to you, to you, to you!

Happy birthday, happy birthday, happy birthday to you!

After the song, we all applauded for the chicken whose show was celebrating ten years of imagination.

"Happy anniversary, Chica!" Buzz, Caroline, Eric, Frances, Kaleigh, Kenny, and Rachel exclaimed.

"Thanks, ZOOMers!" Kelly commented.

"I seriously can't believe it's been ten years since the Costume Coop opened and you went on adventures with Bunji and Stitches!" Frances exclaimed.

"We've known you since The Sunny Side Up Show launched in 2007 and were all excited to learn that you were getting your own show." Buzz replied.

"Here's to 10 more!" Caroline exclaimed.

"We're all with you, Miss Botelho," Mr. C smiled, "Cluckums and I planned the party all ourselves."

"Hey everyone, while Chica and I were gone, we made meatloaf sandwiches with frozen carrots and sweetpeas." Kelly explained. "Right, Chica?"

Chica nodded.

"And while we're at it, we also ordered a cake and some number 10 cookies." Mrs. C commented. "Who's up for 'em?"

Everyone cheered, and Mr. and Mrs. C and Kelly dished out slices of cake and the meatloaf and handed out cookies.

"So, how are you enjoying your cake?" asked Rolex.

"I like it." Lillian smiled.

"So do I." replied Cameron. "So delectable!"

"You know, I wish I could have cake like this every day," I pointed out, "But now's the right time!"

"Hey, you know how many people are at the party?" Steve asked, "Blue and Magenta want to know."

"Hmm, let's see," Jake got up and counted everyone, before concluding. "42 people, counting myself!" The orange boy with the yellow Mohican smiled and all of us oohed.

"Wow, you're smart!" beamed Mr. C.

"Hey Tweetheart, you have anything to say?" Mrs. C. asked Chica.

With that, Chica got up and suggested we all dance to music, something her parents and Kelly had planned. We were all with her and got up and danced to some of our favorite songs for the rest of the night, with, of course, plenty of time to open presents.

After a while, Kelly and Chica were getting tired and decided to head home. Kelly flipped the "open" sign to "closed" as we all waved goodbye to her and Chica.

"So Chica, that was surely a Bockadoodle brilliant party! What did you think?"

Chica squeaked - she loved it too!

"Alright, let's go home and get you tucked in" Kelly smiled. She and Chica then waved goodbye to the Stitches mannequin, who was wearing a party hat.
