In the coming weeks, Dr. James recruited some martial artists from a dojo in town. He never saw the Shredder. These men weren't big fans of the turtles either. They would love to get some revenge too.
"We will give out revenge on all of them but starting with the one in purple. He's the most dangerous if he can put a stop to various technological projects." James warned the men.
"Very well, Boss." One said. There were about fifteen men working for him and none of them were sissies, unlike Shredder's two lackeys.
"Now, we will stake out a few different pizzerias here in this vicinity. If we all see them, we call and come get the job done to capture them." James directed. The men all nodded in return. The plan was set.
Vinnie's Pizza was one of them.
…..
The men waited for a good week for the turtles to finally dine in at Vinnie's. Most of the time, it was always a dash and run. And if they were wearing their human masks, it was hard to tell for sure. But there were occasions where the turtles dined in only as themselves.
"Boss, we have the turtles all eating at Vinnie's today for their lunch." One stated over the radio.
"Good. Wait until they're done eating. Getting them on full stomachs might be a good thing." Dr. James ordered.
"Alright. We wait, Men." He had six other men with him. They nodded.
At the pizzeria, the turtles were all enjoying their favorite recipes. Then Leonardo paid the bill before they walked outside. "Boy, that clam chowder and liver pizza hit the spot." Raphael said.
"I can agree there." Donatello added. "I couldn't eat another bite I'm so full."
"Well, we better get to Channel 6 to see what April wanted to see us for." Leonardo said.
The four turtles left Vinnie's and were walking on toward Channel 6. The men were ready for them.
"Hold it right there, you nefarious reptiles!" A male voice was heard.
The turtles all heard that and turned. They were in front of an alley. They saw these masked men carrying clubs, bats, machetes, knives, and other weapons ready to do harm to them.
"Well, looks like we can get to work off some of those calories, guys." Leo smirked. He and his brothers took out their weapons.
Raphael knew it was crazy to fight on a full stomach but what choice did they have?
Two men got after Donatello and Leonardo each, throwing blows at each other, testing them. Likewise with the other men testing Mike and Raphael.
The men were impressed with the turtles' fighting skills. The reptiles were finding out these guys weren't lackeys. They meant business.
Donatello hit the ones he was facing in the stomach that he was famous for. They still came back for more, but then, more men showed up.
"There are more coming, Leonardo. What do we do?" Don asked.
"We really should back off. These guys mean business." Leo replied.
The turtles were all breathing hard due to their full bellies. Leo told them to fall back, but then more blocked their path in the exit to the alley. The men that Don had hit before were now back up and could reason with their boss's decision on revenge for the purple one.
The turtles knew they had to make their escape before they were captured. They could always jump over people when they had to. But before they could do so, a smoke bomb was thrown at them, making them cough and sputter, but it also knocked them out too. James had thrown it. Now the turtles were his.
"Get them into the van quickly!" He ordered.
All the men pitched in and carried all the turtles to the transport van at the back of the alley. Their weapons were all taken too but separated from them. The turtles' hands and feet were tied together to limit movement should they wake up.
They soon had them at the hideout. It was a forgotten laboratory in the middle of the city. It had once belonged to Professor Cycloid. Now it was Dr. James' place.
All the turtles were taken inside. Leo, Raph, and Mike were all taken to a room with cages.
James said to the ones holding Don, "Not him. Take him to the operation room, asap."
"Yes, Sir." The three carrying him replied and took the sleeping Donatello to the operating room.
Once in the room, Don's limbs were untied briefly so they could be tied down in metal cuffs. His arms were straight out at the sides. His legs were close together.
The other turtles were all put into their own cages. Their limbs were left tied until further notice.
Dr. James looked evilly down at the sleeping Donatello. "You're going to pay for what you've done to me several times over, you menacing turtle!" He growled at him.
"What are you going to do to him, Boss? He really gave me a good bellyache from that stick of his." One said, rubbing his still aching belly.
"That's it! I have just the thing to pay him back!" James exclaimed excitedly. He went to the lab and got his serum full in a syringe and needle, but first, he had to locate the spot. He came back to the operation room.
"I aim to give him this serum, but not until he's awake. I want him to feel every moment of this. I did experiments with it and it didn't go well for the test subjects." James explained.
"What is it?"
"It's a special serum poison." The men were in awe. "Now, I just want to find the spot to inject him first while he's still out." James stated. As he looked at the still sleeping turtle, James saw the bare skin area between Don's carapace and plastron.
James began to feel down on Donatello's left side. He had seen anatomy of normal turtles before. He was feeling for the stomach. He pushed inwards quite deeply towards the upper left scute in the belly area. This would be easier than going through the plastron or even putting a tube down the turtle's throat.
"So, he and the others had finished eating, that's correct?" James asked.
"Yes, Sir," came the reply.
James felt inside Don's abdominal cavity. "Hm, I feel what I'm looking for, now we just need to wait until he's awake. I want him to feel this right away." He sneered.
The spot where the injection was to take place was marked with an x with a marker. But James still wanted the turtle to feel this deep pain.
