Donatello was trying his hardest to breathe and not think so much about the pain in his gut, but it was so hard to do. He hadn't had a bellyache this strong before, or in a long time. The men left him in the room alone to feel miserable in his pain.
The purple wearing turtle wanted his brothers and sensei. He wanted to go home. Master Splinter could possibly help him. But he himself might need to do some tests to find out what was in his system to be harming him like this. He knew that all this had started with the injection he had gotten earlier.
As he stood there in the cuffs, Don tried to get his hands loose. He felt some jolts of pain go through his belly, making him wince and bend over as much as he could from his plastron and his arms. He wanted to sit down.
"Agh! Oh, I need to lay down." Don said to himself. With another painful jolt, it made him cry out and try to get loose all the more. "Let me go!" It also had him slump in the cuffs, making him go down in the knees. But he couldn't sit down all the way.
"OW! Ok, you win! Stop the pain, PLEASE!" Donatello called out. His hands were losing circulation in them, but he had to force himself to stand up again.
On the cameras, James and his men were enjoying seeing the bound turtle in pain. In another room, Leonardo, Michelangelo, and Raphael were all awake and were able to hear their brainy brother's cries for help.
"Release our friend immediately, or you'll have to answer to us!" Leonardo snarled angrily.
"Let him go!" Raphael snapped.
James then came in to see them. "Oh, but I do enjoy seeing your friend in immense pain. You see, he ruined my life." The man exclaimed.
"We can do that too." Michelangelo spoke up.
"What did you do to him?" Raphael demanded.
"Oh, he's just being tested to see how much he can tolerate with pain before there's more added to his punishment for hurting me." James smirked.
"What did Donatello do to you that you have to hurt him so much?" Leo asked.
"I don't have to tell you anything. But I can say that the body part on him that's hurting is a big part of what he did to me." James declared. "You can all just go on hearing his cries longer." Then he left the room.
"We have to get out of here and save Donatello before that creep does anything more to him." Raph said.
"I know, but how?" Leo inquired. He was looking around for any way out. Their weapons had all been taken from them. But then, he remembered his kunai. "Wait, my knife. I think I can get us out of here." He smiled.
"Good. We can't let that maniac go on hurting Donatello." Mike proclaimed.
Leonardo took the kunai out of his wrist pad and tried to pick the lock of his cage. Mike and Raph were hopeful their leader could pick the lock.
…..
Meanwhile, James took a hard metal bat in his hands, and he was going to go give the purple wearing turtle another piece of his mind.
Donatello so did not feel good. Standing up was making him sweat, like he had a fever despite being cold-blooded. He bared his teeth and shut his eyes with each jolt that sliced through his aching belly. It was hard for him to even stand up at all, he kept wanting to sit or lie down.
From the injection that he had had earlier to bring on such pain in his body, Don knew he had obviously been poisoned, but with what? He knew he wasn't in good shape right now. He felt like he wanted to vomit but couldn't. The poison could be eating the lining of his stomach and intestinal tract for all he knew!
Oh please, stop this pain! He pleaded in his mind. But then, he opened his eyes with the opening of the door to the room again.
It was James and more of his men. What did they want? But Donatello saw the bat in his hand. This wasn't good. He backed into the wall, gulping.
James saw the look of fear come into the turtle's eyes as he backed against the wall. He was loving this moment. "Do you even know what I'm going to do?" He asked the nervous turtle.
"Whatever it is, you don't have to do this. Oh!" Don moaned from another pain stabbing him.
"Tell me, what does it feel like in that belly of yours right now?" James inquired.
"You should… ugh… oh… know." Don retorted.
"Well, I can make that change really quick, which I intend to." The man said evilly.
"Oh, don't… please…" Don didn't want to resort to begging but it was too late.
He felt the impact into his lower plastron but even through it. "OOOHHH!" Donatello cried out as he felt the force of the blow into his already poor painful stomach. His pain doubled, even tripled inside him, instantly making him slump in the cuffs. It was harder to concentrate on breathing. His knees managed to touch the floor. Don's face was a showing extreme pain. Tears were even coming down his cheeks.
James was proud of his work. He and his men grinned smugly.
From the other room, Leo, Raph, and Mike heard Don's loud cry of pain. "Hurry, Leonardo!" Raphael urged.
"I'm trying." Leo replied. He was hurriedly picking at the lock on the cage. Shortly after, it made a sound that it had worked. Leo proudly opened his door and he went about unlocking Raph and Mike's doors too.
"Hurry fellas, we can't let them hurt Donatello." Leo decreed.
"Let's get 'em!' Mike exclaimed.
The three of them were on their way, weapons or not.
….
Donatello felt like his organs were on fire inside him, feeling like he was being eaten alive from the inside out. He was extremely winded. It was hard to breathe.
"That's not the worst of what you did to me, but it's a start. Pretty soon, it'll go much further than just a blow. Soon, your whole front shell will be cut into." James exclaimed.
"Nooo…" Don moaned weakly.
"Oh yes! I'm going to love doing that. Every moment of it." James sneered.
But he wouldn't get the chance when the other three turtles broke through the door and hit and kicked the men away from their brother. Even James was knocked unconscious really fast by the turtle leader. Then they went over to check on Don.
"Donatello, are you alright?" Leo asked in concern. "Can you hear me?"
Don managed to nod his head but couldn't talk. "Say something, dude." Mike said.
"Oooh! Hurts!" Don moaned weakly.
"We'll get you out of here." Raph stated.
Leo picked up the keys off James and unlocked the cuffs on Don's wrists, thus letting him fall to the floor. His hands immediately went to cradle his aching stomach. The trio could see that their brother was in extreme pain if he wasn't getting up.
"You guys go tie up those goons and call April to call the police. I'll see to Donatello." Leo ordered. Raph and Mike nodded in return.
Leo went over to the kneeling Don and kneeled beside him. "What happened, Donatello?" he asked.
Donatello opened his eyes and looked at his lead bro sadly. "Poisoned… oh… bat… ugh!" He could barely talk at the moment.
"Catch your breath first and then explain it to us." Leo said. He sat beside Don for a few minutes so he could catch his breath again, but there was still deep pain in his gut.
Mike called April. He didn't know where they were exactly.
"How's Donatello?" she asked.
"He's in pain and breathless. They tortured him, April." Mike stated sadly.
"Why those no-good lowdown lunatics!" April snarled. "He didn't deserve that. Okay. I'll follow your turtle com signal to your location. Just keep Donatello calm." April instructed.
"Will do." Mike said.
Donatello soon had caught his breath enough, but he was still in a tremendous amount of pain. Leonardo helped him to stand up. He helped him to a chair to sit down.
The men were all tied up by the time April finally joined them. She told them they were in a warehouse in Queens. Now they could call the police. When sirens could be heard, the turtles knew they had to get out of here.
April let them get into her van and she would join them later. She would be making a statement to the cops about what went on there.
When the police arrived, they instantly saw that the men there were men that they had been after since their escape. April would be offered a reward for their capture. She smiled. It was something more so of what the turtles deserved.
In the van, Donatello needed to lie down. "Oh, my stomach… hurts!" The smart turtle held his belly intensely.
"We need to get you home." Leo stated.
It wasn't too much longer that April finally joined them luckily. "April, we need to get Donatello home straight away." Mike declared.
"I'm on it." She replied. She drove as fast as she could to get the turtles home.
