Two weeks had passed. Mornings started off with grueling exercise from increasing the load, going through the obstacle course, 1 mile sprints, and anything Sergeant Moore thought would feel like hell on Remnant.
The group dreaded hearing the banging of the door in the morning. Followed by a rush to get those exercise clothes on before hurrying out to the parade top. Though for some students they began to feel an increase in their own strength, stamina, and endurance. Which satisfied Moore happily.
After Breakfast the classroom was filled as a video rolled on the screen.
Some old cinema music began to play as the film began to tick down again til it started. Soon as it did a Lieutenant appeared on screen in front of a whiteboard.
"Police work isn't always patrolling, arresting drunks off the sidewalks, or writing reports. A good part of it is Community Outreach. That being the topic for this informational video."
Scene cuts to a busy Vale street with cars.
"Everyday you will be amongst the public. Amongst regular ordinary people who go about their days like you. Having a police officer provides a sense of calm and security to the Citizens of Vale. A survey conducted by the Department of Economics states that 92 percent of businesses in the city feel secure with an officer patrolling the block."
Scene cuts to a patrol car driving along the city streets.
"Whether patrolling on the roads, or hopping out for a walk. You must conduct yourselves in a manner becoming a Vale Police Officer. Today we will be going over some key elements in behaving yourself while on duty."
Scene turns back to the Lieutenant and a message on the video says pause.
The video pauses and the lights come on. Sergeant Moore comes to the front of the class with her arms crossed.
"Now for those of you with brains, give me some possible answers as to what those elements of conduct may be? No looking in the handbook or it's going to be 50 burpees this instant."
One hand rose, it was Bernie.
"What is not being a sleazebag?, Sir?"
The group chuckled a little and Moore couldn't help but smirk.
"That should be an element of conduct, Cadet. This guy I met at a bar could have used that. Anyways, give me some more."
Glancing about for another answer Jaune raised his hand and answered.
"What is not to accept any gifts or presents?"
Snapping her fingers, Moore damn near jumped for joy, though her wagging tail conveyed her joy.
"Arc you've hit one of the most important ones of all. We as public servants, in order to maintain absolute neutrality and impartiality, must not take any gifts or presents passed our way. Now it's highly likely that the doughnut shop down the street from us would have any ill intent when offering, on occasion, a free cup of coffee. But it would be a double standard if we were to refuse a bribe from say, that ginger haired gentleman Roman Torchwick."
Crossing her arms she unwinded and looked to the Cadets with a straight face.
"I know I'm required to say that you should follow that rule. But I myself am guilty of breaking it from time to time. Nothing wrong about a free cup of coffee while working the beat on a cold day. Now, when it comes to accepting that free cup of coffee. Perhaps it may serve to strengthen the relationship between yourself and the community you patrol. When it comes to cases like those, use your judgment. But if you do screw up, own up."
The group looked to their instructor with an understanding silence. Taking note but also appreciating Sergeant Moore's willingness to be open and forward with them.
"Now that was really heavy, so I'll just roll the video. Follow along cause I'll be quizzing you all after."
The lights dimmed once again and the video resumed.
"Now, let's go over the Code of Conduct we Officers are bound by."
An informational graphic appeared on screen which listed out the number and subject of each code of conduct.
"Code 1: An Officer must maintain professionalism at all times.
Code 2: An Officer must conduct themselves in the right manner when in front of their Superiors.
Code 3: An Officer must not fraternize while in uniform
Moore coughed "Bullshit."
Code 4: An Officer must not partake in any illegal or inhibiting drugs while in uniform or on duty.
Code 5: An Officer must not accept any gifts deemed persuasive in nature.
The video went on and on and on about the 20 other codes of conduct. Listing them out and then turning the video back to the instructor.
The lights came back on and Moore walked back to the front of the class. Handing out the quizzes the group went and completed it. Upon completion Moore brought out some notecards and began to hand one to each Cadet.
"On the front of each of these cards is a scenario. I will ask for you to read yours out and then provide the proper response to the scenario. I'll start here with the first one cause you all probably wouldn't read this out right."
The class seemed confused by the reasoning but stopped as they saw Moore hop on the teacher's desk in front and cleared her throat.
"You pull over a red sports convertible for speeding on a coastal roadway. Approach the vehicle to see it driven by a woman who turns to you."
Then like a light switch she switched to a voice so tender, so silky, that it even had Alice thumping her foot on the floor as the others gripped their desks and crossed some legs.
"Oh? Officer~ I suppose you pulled me over because I was going a little fast. Don't suppose you could.. Forgive me? This is my first offense and I didn't mean any harm. Maybe I can do you a favor~?"
The tension was palpable.
"I told you none of you could read it right. Hell I bet a majority of you wouldn't even know how to respond to that. At that point it's your hormones at the wheel unless you don't exactly swing that way."
Cardin slowly raised his hand.
"Uh.. Ask her for her numb- I mean her license."
"Well Cardin, yes, and well if you want to get a hit then slip by your name and badge number but good answer."
Cardin's eyes nearly fell out of his head as had to contain his shock. The rest of the class got a real hoot out of it and continued on with the scenarios they had on their notecards.

At Group C's table they couldn't stop talking about Sergeant Moore's very vivid depiction of her scenario.
"I never thought she could talk like that."
"Me neither! Had me going the whole nine yards."
Cardin ate a sandwich as he listened to the conversation from his end of the table. Beside him Jaune glanced over and nudged his shoulder.
"Sergeant Moore has one hell of a voice, man."
"Yeah.. definitely. Though I'm still embarrassed about that slip up."
"Oh don't sweat it, at least you have some sound pick up advice if you encounter a situation like that."
Cardin chuckled along and nodded. "Yeah you're right about that. Though I don't think I'll be using any of that. Saving all of that for the right one."
"Really now? Didn't peg you to be the romantic type."
"Oh shut up, I just wanna find someone to settle down with. I've already had enough trouble with previous attempts."
"How many?"
"3, all of them were trouble but I was blinded by love."
"My condolences, Cardin."
"Yeaah they're accepted.
A bit of a throat cleared from the other side of the table from them. Alice, one of the rabbit Faunuses in their group, looked at them.
"You two are going on about what happened during the lesson?"
Cardin and Jaune nodded their heads.
"Good cause holy shit Sergeant Moore was hot as hell. I mean seriously Cardin, I can't blame you for slipping up but wow. Talk about a temptress."
A bit of a red blush grew in her cheeks which seemed to get a bit of a laugh out of the more reserved Cardin.
"Well why don't you go for it? I think she's never worn a ring while she was here."
"That is an idea, but I'll have to age myself a couple of years." Alice said with a giggle.
Watching the two talk, Jaune seemed to enjoy the light heartedness of the group. Many of them seemed to be getting along well. Provided that the Academy wasn't a full on Military Boot Camp, they were allotted much more freedom. Weekend leave was also available to them in a few days for the first time.
Perhaps it was time for Cardin and himself to test some of their material?
Cadet Night OUT on the town! Looking sharp in their uniforms heading out to a Club. Perks of not being Officers yet. Any who hope you enjoyed that chapter. Still on this writer's high but I just can't wait to get to graduation and into Jaune's career, as a Police Officer.
