Prologue
These hands were made to heal
"You're a coward. You ran away when you could have fought. You're not worthy of being my son" the cold voice of Vegeta bit at Trunks from the dark bathroom mirror.
"I didn't have a choice... He was too strong" Trunks weakly retorted, however, it was a flimsy excuse that neither of them believed.
"Look at me when you're talking to me Boy. You always had a choice. You're just weak" Vegeta spat with disgust, his black eyes glaring with malice.
"I am not. They were just too strong. Im sorry" Trunks returned, still defeated. His shoulders slumped.
"Is that what you would tell your Mother? I'm sorry? Im sorry that I was too weak. Im sorry that I let you die?" Vegeta's lip was curled in a snarl, rage filling his eyes.
"What would you have me do? Die? I want to live" Trunks replied, anger of his own beginning to bubble within his heart. His face beginning to contort.
"You would live like a coward and run away? I can't believe that I ever considered you my son. Your mother would feel the same way" Vegeta snarled, his hair beginning to turn golden.
"Don't you dare tell me what Mother would say. You died. You weren't there for us when we needed you" Trunks snarled at his father's visage in the bathroom mirror. The building began shaking as Trunks began expelling his anger.
"That's it boy. I like that face you're making. Now you actually look like a Saiyan" Vegeta taunted his son with a smirk. The kind of smirk he would wear when he was about to kill his enemy.
"And you're right. I died. I died fighting for you. I died fighting for your Mother. You couldn't even die fighting for your universe. You make me sick" Vegeta growled his rage almost at his peak.
"SHUT UP" Trunks screamed, slamming his right fist through the mirror and into the wall behind it. The reflection of his father's smirk shining in the shards of glass that lay scattered on the bathroom floor.
"Trunks. Its okay. I'm here" Trunks felt the soft and tender hands of his lover wrap around him.
"I'm sorry. Its the visions again. They're getting to me. Ever since I awakened as a hunter, they've gotten worse" Trunks responded, cooling down in the embrace of the woman he shared his new life with.
"Well make it through this together. How about we go out? Staying in this appartment in the dark won't help you. I know a good Barbeque, it's on me".
"Thank you Joohee, I've been going through a lot these days. You staying with me has really eased my mind" Trunks replied, turning around and kissing her on her forehead that barely made it to his eye level.
"No problem. You've earned it many times over you big dummy" She laughed, giving him a soft kiss on the lips that she had to stand on her toes for.
"Now let's get out of here. We'll have to put off cleaning till later" She smiled, her blue eyes glistening with kindness.
"Haha Right" Trunks laughed, a smile returned to his face.
The two left the bathroom, and Trunks cleaned off in the second bathroom upstairs, while Joohee changed into more formal attire than her simple tank white top and blue jeans.
Stepping out of the appartment some time later, the two made their way into the blue Toyota that they had bought a few months before they both awakened.
Things would be alright.
