I slept for most of the car ride but we eventually arrived at Peach Creek, as Daddy woke me up, I got out of the car and looked at our new house which lacked color at the time, Mommy said that the place was all they could find at a short amount of time, but I was just grateful to be able to escape the terror of my old neighborhood

As we got inside and brought our stuff in, my parents said they had to run an errand but would be back soon

[Nat is waving by the door.]

Nat: "Please don't take too long!"

[Nat closes the door.]

Nat: "I'm all alone."

[Nat goes wide eyed as she realizes what she just said.]

Nat: "I'm all alone!"

[Nat starts to panic. She then places a hand on her chest.]

Nat: "Calm down Nat, remember to breath."

[Nat takes several deep breaths, she starts to relax.]

Nat: "I'm in a new place, new neighborhood, so I shouldn't be worried...at least not right now."

[Nat takes a few more deep breaths, then calms down.]

Nat: "Ok, now what should I do now?"

[As Nat says this, her stomach then growls.]

Nat: "Oh right, I haven't eaten yet...well there's my answer."

[Nat goes to the kitchen and takes out a bowl, she then takes out a box of oatmeal.]

Nat: "Good thing this doesn't require a stove."

[Nat pours the oatmeal in the bowl and adds milk, she puts it in the microwave. As it finishes she takes it out and tastes it.]

Nat: "Hmm, it's a little bland, it needs sugar!"

[Nat looks in the cupboards, but can't find any sugar.]

Nat: "There isn't any!"

[Nat thinks for a minute.]

Nat: "Ok, I can't go to the store because I don't know where to find one here, Mommy and Daddy won't be back until later, and making something else would require a stove and there's no way I'm doing that."

[Nat looks at the door, makes an uneasy look, then looks away.]

Nat: "Of course I could eat it by itself...but I probably won't finish it..."

[Nat looks at the door again, she then looks at the measuring cup on the counter.]

Nat: "Do I really want to take that risk?"

[Nat looks at the bowl again, then her stomach growls again, she the sighs.]

Nat: "I guess I have no choice."

[Nat grabs the measuring cup, then puts a hand on the doorknob.]

Nat: "Wait a minute...besides my parents, I haven't talked to anyone in years...what do I say? How should I act?"

[Nat thinks for a minute.]

Nat: "Well, since my parents aren't here to tell me, I'll have to get help somewhere else."

[Nat searches through her pile of books, eventually she finds one that says "How to interact with people."]

Nat: "This should help."

[Nat takes her book and cup as she opens the door.]

[Nat comes out of her house, she sees the house next to her. Nat takes a deep breath.]

Nat: "It's ok Nat you can do this. You may haven't talked to anyone other than your parents in a long time, but it's fine, you have your book with you and just pretend you're talking to a friend!"

[Nat, realizing what she just said, frowns.]

Nat: "...If you had one."

[Nat approaches the house, she flips through her book to a certain page.]

Nat: "You've been trained for self defense, so the worse thing this person can do is say no."

[Nat takes a deep breath and lifts her hand.]

Nat: "No turning back now."

[Nat gently knocks on the door, It opens.]

Edd: "Good day, and how may I help–"

[Edd stops and says nothing as he stares at Nat, she stays silent as well as she starts to shake. As they both stood there staring in silence, he starts to blush and sweat.]

Nat: (thinking) "C'mon Nat! You've gone this far! Now ask already!"

[Nat looks down at her book.]

Nat: (reading in head) "To ask for something: Ask clearly and politely."

Nat: (thinking) "Well...here goes nothing." (talking) "U-Um h-hello I'm s-sorry to b-bother you b-but I was j-just w-wondering if I could b-borrow a c-cup of s-sugar?"

[Edd just continues to stare, not uttering a word.]

Nat: (thinking) "...that wasn't clear at all."

Edd: "Yes!"

[Nat stops shaking and stares, slightly taken aback.]

Nat: (thinking) "Did he just say yes?"

Edd: "U-Um I mean I would not mind providing you sugar."

[Nat stares in disbelief but eventually gives the cup to Edd. He nervously takes it and goes inside.]

Nat: (thinking) "...I wasn't expecting that."

[Edd returns with the sugar, Nat continues to stare as she slowly takes it.]

Nat: (thinking) "Ok...um...I guess this is the part where I thank him."

[Nat looks down at her book.]

Nat: (reading in head) "One way to thank someone: Is to kiss the person."

[Nat looks confused then blushes.]

Nat: (thinking) "Really?"

[Nat then looks at Edd, who is just staring nervously.]

Nat: (thinking) "Well...whatever the book says."

[Nat leans to Edd and kisses him, He just stands there in complete shock. As she pulls away she hurries back in her house.]

[As Nat closes the door, she leans on the door, taking several deep breaths.]

Nat: "Did I do it right?"

[Nat looks at her book again, she continues to read.]

Nat: "Other ways to thank someone: Is to hug the person or say thank you."

[Nat's face falls]

Nat: "Seriously?! How did I miss that?!"

[Nat facepalms and sighs.]

Nat: "Not only did I make things awkward, but he must think I'm a freak now."

[Nat thinks for a minute.]

Nat: "Although for a first kiss...it did feel nice."

[Nat facepalms again]

Nat: "What am I saying? I don't even know him!"

[Nat thinks again]

Nat: "Although he did wear a nice hat."

[Nat just shakes her head.]

Nat: "Stop it Nat! Just stop!"

[Nat goes in the kitchen, She starts to pour the sugar in the bowl.]

[As Nat is stirring the sugar in the oatmeal she then hears screaming outside which causes her to drop the cup.]

Nat: "What's going on?!"

[Wasting no time, Nat opens the door and runs to where the screaming is coming from, she sees The Eds on top of a roof.]

Eddy: "Who's the new chick?"

Ed and Edd: "Please help us!"

[Nat stare at the Eds with worry.]

Nat: (thinking) "I have to help them!"

[Nat looks around and sees the ladder. She picks it up and puts it on the house. She climbs it and reaches her hand.]

Nat: "I'll help you down! Give me your hand!"

[Edd is the first to grab it, she picks him up and gently lowers him on the ground, she does the same for Ed and Eddy, she then climbs down the ladder.]

Nat: "Are you three ok?"

[Ed grabs Nat and wraps her in a tight hug.]

Ed: "Thank you!"

Nat: (thinking) "Can't. Breath!"

Edd: "Ed give her some air!"

Ed: "Oh sorry."

[Ed lets Nat go.]

Nat: (thinking) "Thank goodness."

Ed: "Hello my name is Ed."

Edd: "M-My name is Eddward but I am called Double D for short."

Nat: (thinking) "I knew it, I did make things awkward, he must hate me now."

[Edd stares at Eddy, waiting for him to answer.]

Eddy: "My name is Eddy, thanks for saving us and nice to meet you or whatever."

Nat: (thinking) "They all have the same name? How unusual."

[Nat then rubs her arm.]

Nat: "W-Well um, you're welcome."

[Edd then gestures to Nat.]

Edd: "May I-I mean we know your name?"

Nat: (thinking) "Why not? Go ahead Nat, tell them."

Nat: "I-It's Natalie."

[Ed puts his hands together.]

Ed: "Eddy can we keep her?"

Eddy: "What?!"

Ed: "She helped us! We should keep her!"

[Nat just stares in confusion.]

Edd: "Now Ed you can't just claim somebody-"

Eddy: "No way!"

Ed: "Please Eddy!" [He makes puppy eyes at Eddy]

Eddy: "Stop it Ed!"

[Ed continues to stare at Eddy, after some time, Eddy gives in.]

Eddy: "Alright Alright fine!"

[Ed smiles]

Ed: "Thank you Eddy!" [He hugs Eddy]

Eddy: "Let go of me!"

Edd: "Please excuse my friends."

Nat: "Um...that's ok."

[There is an awkward silence]

Nat: "Oook well I better go back to making my oatmeal, it's nice to meet you Ed, Edd n Eddy!"

[Nat rushes back to her house. She goes in and closes the door.]

Nat: "Well that was...interesting."

[The Eds are still outside.]

Eddy: "What was up with you Double D?"

[Edd doesn't answer]

Eddy: "Double D?"

[Eddy looks at Edd and sees his lovestruck gaze.]

Eddy: "Oh man! Sockhead has a crush on the new chick!"

[Edd snaps out of it.]

Edd: "W-What! That's p-preposterous Eddy!"

Eddy: "Uh huh sure, well she's good looking, I'll give you that, but besides that, she doesn't give much of a view."

Edd: "Eddy!"

Eddy: "C'mon, let's go set up the scam."

[Eddy starts to walk away.]

Ed: "Let's give her something!"

[Eddy turns around]

Eddy: "What?!"

Ed: "A present for our new friend!"

[Edd then smiles]

Edd: "What an exceptional idea Ed! What should we give her?"

Ed: "A jawbreaker!"

Edd: "Of course! No one can resist its delectable taste!"

Eddy: "No way! I'm not wasting a scam for that!"

Ed: "But she's our new friend!"

Eddy: "Forget it!"

Edd: "Come on Eddy! We should show our good intentions by getting Natalie a gift to welcome her."

[Eddy crosses his arms.]

Edd: "Besides, we are already outcasted by everyone in the cul-de-sac, do you insist on gaining one more person doing the same to us?"

[Eddy still keeps his arms crossed, but after a minute, then growls.]

Eddy: "Fine! But I'm only doing this once!"

[Ed and Edd smile and go set up the scam as Eddy reluctantly follows behind.]

[Nat is eating her oatmeal, lost in thought.]

Nat: "Did that really just happen?"

[Nat puts her spoon down.]

Nat: "Did I really just go to my neighbor's house, ask him for sugar, ended up giving it to me, then rescued him along with his two companions on top of a house...in one day?!"

[Nat puts both her hands on the table.]

Nat: "Well, more like half a day but still, I've only been here for five minutes and all of this happened?!"

[Nat then facepalms]

Nat: "Of course it happened Nat, silly question, I just can't believe it."

[Nat notices the book on the table, she then realizes something.]

Nat: "I didn't have my book with me when I helped them!"

[Nat picks the book up.]

Nat: "I guess, I was so worried when I heard them scream, I completely forgot about it."

[Nat thinks for a minute.]

Nat: "Hmm, I didn't really have trouble when I talked to them...maybe I didn't need it after all."

[Nat thinks back to when she used it, she then blushes.]

Nat: "And considering I ended up making a mistake...I don't think I should use it again."

[Nat puts the book down. She then thinks some more.]

Nat: "Why did I help them?"

[Nat leans her face on her hand.]

Nat: "I didn't know them, I still don't, and it was none of my business."

[Nat looks at the cup.]

Nat: "And why did that boy, who called himself Double D, give me the sugar? He doesn't know me, and yet he didn't push me away and gave me some."

[Nat finishes her oatmeal.]

Nat: "I'm so confused..."

[Nat puts the bowl in the sink and goes to her room to unpack.]

[Later that day, as Nat is still unpacking, there is a knock on her door.]

Nat: "I wonder who that is?"

[Nat walks to the door and opens it. She doesn't see anyone but looks down and sees something.]

Nat: "What's this?"

[Nat picks up the item, it's revealed to be a jawbreaker, underneath it is a note.]

Nat: "Natalie, Welcome to Peach Creek, We hope you enjoy this gift, Ed, Edd n Eddy."

[Nat looks at the note and smiles.]

Nat: "Aww, that was really nice of them to give me a...a..."

[Nat looks at the jawbreaker in confusion.]

Nat: "What is this thing?"

[Nat taps on it.]

Nat: "Well, it's hard, so it can't be a ball."

[Nat examines it]

Nat: "Maybe...it's a table decoration?"

[Nat brings it inside, she places it on her desk.]

Nat: "Well...it looks nice!"

[Nat sits on her bed.]

Nat: "What a strange day it has been."

After that my parents came home, I told them about you guys and they were very happy for me that I was able to talk to my neighbors and be on friendly terms.
