And he was back to guarding Snowdin. "Guess that was a no." Welp, at least he's welcome in the underground in this timeline. The kid was covered in dust when the ruins door opened.

"Screw the damn script." Sans wasn't dumb enough to scare the human a third time. "Human." Hand out. "Soulman." Sans couldn't help his eye flash, "I don't understand." He lied. Her grip tightened, causing his hand to tremble in pain as he tried and failed to pull away. "Listen here Soulman." He was forced towards the human. "Flowey told me all about you. Your memory of resets. No point in lying."

"I uh." Let go! Let go! Please let go! She laughed. He preferred when she was impassive. This was downright terrifying. "I know LOVE makes you stronger." "Kind of." Sans shrugged with his left shoulder. "There's more to it." "I. Don't. Trust. You." Yep, that's a problem. Sans certainly felt his sins weighing on his wrist when he was downright forced to the normal meeting area, "Your move Soulman." Sans felt relieved when she let go of his wrist. Is a broken wrist repayment for a broken soul cause yep, it's definitely broken. "I'm not sure what you want, kid." "I want you-" She stopped her scream mid sentence, "You know what, forget it." She walked through the bars, calm now.

Sans took a note, survive this and never ever threaten a human again. Especially the nice ones. Either way, he made a promise, and he has to keep it. Well, most of it. He's pretty sure he already failed at the protect the human part, but he can still watch over them, perhaps from a distance later, but for now he can't let Papyrus worry. He ate a hotdog, healing his wrist.

Of course he pissed off the only human who ever liked the flower. Problem is, the flower can inform the human and he will. His head hurt so so much. Sans caught up to Papyrus and the human who was standing next to him. "Sans what kinda monster is this?" The human now impassively staring into his direction, "That's a human, bro." He rubbed his forehead. Or what's left of one.

"Oh cool. I must show them puzzles!" The human broke their uncomfortable gaze to look at Papyrus, "Truthfully, I don't like puzzles." Papyrus' smile faltered for a moment, "You don't like puzzles! Well the Great Papyrus must make an excellent puzzle that even you will like! Nyeh Heh Heh!" And he ran off.

Sans felt his bones tremble. One thing was clear, the human was no longer scared of him. Extra love probably helps with that because of the emotional distance it takes to gain it. "Did you need something?" "No." Then leave! Leave! Sans sighed before attempting to walk away, "Actually." Sans turned around. "Yeah." "Do you want to know why I entered the hotel with you?" Yep. But, should he admit that? "Don't bother answering. I walked in with you because I noticed you watching. Granted, when I looked in your direction, you would hide." "You don't really strike me as someone who wanted my company." "Correct. I figured you had good intentions." Sans had to control his urge to protest as the human paced around him, "Granted, I was wrong. You admitted to that much." That wasn't his intention. But why bother? She won't believe him. "I must really thank you, Soulman. You showed me the monsters' true colors." She walked past him.

"Howdy." "I'm not in the mood." Sans never thought he would wish people would just be rude to him. But he can't take anymore thank yous. Not for this. "Did I ask?" "Fine." "So, how do you like your creation?" "Not at all." The human was head to toe in dust and this was just the start. "Anyway I have some puzzles to do."
