Pit: I'm Pit, servant of the goddess Palutena! It's almost time for our final battle with the Dark Gods. If we're going to win, I needed the Three Sacred Treasures that were stolen by Space Pirates. Thanks to our awesome teamup with the Guardians of the Galaxy, we got 'em back and we're off to save the day! Or not. We have to visit Omnipotence City? Never heard of it, but a little breather before a final showdown never hurt anyone!

Issue 9: A Divine Tour

Skyworld.

BGM-Super Smash Bros. Brawl OST-Boss Battle

The time nears for the final battle with the Underworld Army. To prepare for the end, the Goddess Avengers Alliance have been spending their time with nonstop training that is pushing their powers and skills to the utmost limit. Three sparring matches are happening all at once across floating islands, with all combatants having fun with their opponent.

There is Weiss versus Lucina, wielding Myrtenaster and Parallel Falchion respectively in a fierce duel that makes them sweat. The Ice Huntress jumps twirling through the air to get closer to her training partner, launching high-speed strikes that are all deflected by the princess before she tosses her behind, only for Weiss to land safely with a smiling chuckle that taunts Lucina into pointing her sword at her with a stern expression.

Next, there's Sonic against Pit. These Smash Brothers saved the universe together and fought in a tournament together. Now here they are training together, with Sonic kicking away the angel's Blade before bombarding him with quick barrage of kicks and punches. Pit breaks free from his impressive combo to fly around in the sky, equipping himself with the Palutena Bow firing arrows that are countered by shockwave blasts launched from Sonic's somersaults. The Blue Hedgehog gets the bright idea to pull in the angel with a Spin Charge that somehow manipulates gravity, only for Pit to knock him out of it with a charged arrow shot. Scoffing with an impressed smirk, Sonic continues his duel with Pit. Neither combatant can land a solid hit on the other, until the hedgehog delivers a fierce kick to the gut that sends the angel flying, swiftly before his Spin Dash collides with his Upperdash Arm that results in an awesome shockwave that ruins their training grounds.

Then there is Spider-Man sparring with the Goddess of Light herself, Palutena. The mortal student against the divine teacher, and right from the bat Palutena proves to be the greatest challenge in this training session. She is untouchable, ranging from dodging Spider-Man's fastest attacks with the utmost ease to blocking his quickest punches with just a calming finger. "You do love to keep yourself vulnerable after an attack." teased Palutena, casually poking his forehead with her staff before using it to send him flying across their arena. Spidey bounces back into the fight, only to lead himself into being caught by her telekinetic power.

"Oh man!" Spidey exclaimed, unable to free himself from her divine force.

With a scoffing smile, Palutena telekinetically slams him onto the ground before lecturing him, "Just because you have Spider-Senses doesn't mean you should be overconfident. Let your focus waver and you're doomed to fail. Now, onto Spider Reflexes. Focus The Other Power to sharpen your other five senses and push your spirit to its very limit. Be as tranquil as the heavens and as quick as a bolt from the blue. Think of it as Witch Time but for spiders."

Spidey nods, taking her lecture to heart as he readies himself to practice his last new Other Power: Spider Reflexes. Upon the Light Goddess rising to the air and firing at him an immense barrage of energy beams, Spidey taps into his Spider Reflexes to increase his speed to the point that everything around him seems slower. He can see attacks coming from a mile away and uses this to his advantage, seamlessly evading all of the lasers with beyond superhuman acrobatic agility and landing a definitive blow on the goddess before the mode runs out.

"Heh-hey! I got a hit!" Spidey boasted happily.

Taking a solemn note of this feat, Palutena thinks, 'It's hard to believe he has progressed so far in such little time since his arrival in this dimension. All of them.' She glances at the other mortals still training and growing stronger by the second, 'I'm beginning to understand what Thor sees in the Avengers.'

"That's enough for today! Break time!" Palutena announced to all, ending today's intense training session.

Everyone regroups at a picnic table to rest, enjoying some homemade sandwiches while the unmasked Spidey catches his breath. "I love teasing you but man…You gave me a workout and you're not even sweating…Thought Thor would be the only god to demolish me in a sparring match…" He admitted to the goddess after drinking water.

"Give yourself some credit. Your skills are quite unique. Few display as much potential as you. I'm eager to see how much more you can improve from here on out." Palutena smiled humbly.

"Thanks to you and Pit, we feel like we're a whole lot stronger now! I can't believe it!" Sonic said, noting how much stronger the rest of the Dimensional Avengers feel now thanks to their limit break training.

"The reason you feel stronger is because you ARE stronger. At your current level, all of you are among the top warriors of this dimension. To put it to the test, you will be allowed to use the Super Norn Stones in your final battle with Medusa and Loki." Palutena proclaimed solemnly.

"We are one step closer to the realm of the gods. Will we be able to handle that godly power?" Weiss pondered, crossing arms while thinking.

"You bet! Between the Stones, the Treasures, and The Other, the Underworld won't stand a chance!" Sonic grinned confidently to cheer up the heiress.

"Yes! I am definitely liking our odds!" Lucina agreed with an optimistic smile.

"After we save the world, you'll allow me into the Avengers, right?" Pit asked, still wanting to be a Dimensional Avenger.

"No." Weiss denied sternly.

"Oh come on!"

"There's more to being an Avenger than just saving the world. You must be cooperative with the potential for leadership." Weiss lectured the kid angel.

"Course there's nothing wrong being risky and reckless." Sonic snarked out his own piece of advice.

"You must also possess a warrior's cunning." Lucina added.

"Most important of all, you must have heart." Peter said, having faith in Pit to understand all of their helpful advice in how to become an Avenger.

"I have all of that." Pit claimed.

"And we're keeping tabs." Peter retorted calmly, "You still have a long way to go, kid. But we have faith in you to make us proud."

"Why keep calling me kid? You know I'm older than all of you." Pit complained innocently.

"Adult Icarus doesn't roll off the tongue." Peter teased his little brother-like figure, much to his annoyance.

"When are we leaving for Omnipotence City?" Lucina asked the light goddess of their next objective that doesn't involve fighting the Underworld Army.

Palutena answers, "Right now if you're ready. I'm glad Mantis recommended this little detour. I tried learning more of the Divine Shadow prophecy we've been hearing about but I can't for the life of me find any answers. I'm certain we'll find them in Omnipotence City."

"Where is it located?" Lucina questioned.

"The Nexus Universe. Spider-Man's." Palutena replied.

"Sweet! A field trip to a whole new place back home! Let's go tour this city!" Spidey retorted, excitedly putting on his mask and ready to depart alongside his friends.

"I'll tag along this time!" Palutena smiled, flaunting her staff that is being infused with the divine magic of teleportation. "Stay close and prepare to be amazed!" She wraps the party in light then transport all through the dimensional space for Omnipotence City.

Omnipotence City, Nexus Universe.

BGM-Thor: Love and Thunder OST-The Ballad of Love and Thunder

Deep in a section of space that only the divine has the directions to is the Ultimate Capital of gods and immortals. A floating city that is home to the most powerful gods in the universe. Omnipotence City. Palutena's light rockets toward the golden citadel, flying through a marvelously massive and sunny utopia that resembles a modernized version of Skyworld that is filled to the brim with floating islands and buildings of various magnificent design. Landing at a park, the Goddess Avengers Alliance exit the light for Pit and the mortals to be completely amazed by what Palutena is introducing them to, "Here we are! Omnipotence City!"

"Ooooh myyyy goooooddddd…" Spidey commented.

"No kidding! Look at all these gods! I've never seen so many!" Weiss spotted several gods of many different pantheons walking around and minding their own business.

"This place looks like Skyworld but crazier! How is that possible?!" Pit exclaimed.

"I've been to all sorts of amazing places in my time! Never imagined a city like this would exist!" Sonic said in awe.

"I'm at a loss for words…How did this city come to be?" Lucina asked through the flabbergasted look in her face.

As they begin to explore, Palutena uses this moment to brief them on this divine city's history, "It was built four billion years ago, after the First Great War of the Gods. From the rubble of the rock of creation and embers from the fire that lit the first stars. It was built by the Lords of the Dawn, by the first of the elder gods, as a place of divine fellowship. A place where immortals from all corners of reality would forever be welcome. Here eternal treaties are signed. Sacred covenants sworn that save the lives of millions. Here gods are married and tried. Here worlds are born and bartered. Here is the home of the parliament of pantheons and the high holy court. The Genesis Bazaars and the Halls of All-Knowing. The moon-sized jewels of the universal crown. Here in the center of infinity, give or take 50 feet, is the heaven of heavens, a site no mortal eyes have ever seen until you four. Here is Omnipotence City, nexus of all the gods. Here we will seek our answers." She also smiles to her friends, "This is also same city where I met the Odinsons, so many eons ago."

"You must feel nostalgic." Spidey responded.

"Yeah." Palutena looks down with a sombering smile, reminiscing childhood memories of when she met Thor and Loki.

"Are you sure us mortals are allowed here?" Weiss asked with a tone of concern.

"Just stay with me and you'll be fine. Anyone asks, you're the apprentice of the most famous Goddess of Light in the multiverse." Palutena quipped.

"Sure, we'll lie." Weiss snarked, earning a deadpan glance from the goddess.

BGM-Marvel Future Revolution OST-Central City

"Let's tour the place really quick and gather some info." Sonic suggested.

"A good excuse to mess around." Palutena quipped, approving his idea.

Obtaining information on the Divine Shadow and Exo Stones is important. And what is just as important is having a blast exploring Omnipotence City. After all, this might be the only time the Avengers visit here, and there is just so many awesome things of the gods that they are dying to try out. There is a store owned by a God of Clothing that is selling the most fabulous clothes. Lucina recommends a jacket to Weiss, who stares at the atrociously weird design with disgust. Palutena is also with the girls, trying out a variety of outfits that range from adorably Egyptian to beautifully Aztec to sexy Asgardian that were all approved by fellow gods.

Meanwhile, "Here you go! One Celestial Dog on the house!", a God of Food hands to Sonic a special chili dog made with the godliest ingredients.

Just a bite from his Dog and a teary-eyed Sonic groans with the ultimate pleasure, "It's heaven…"

Somewhere else, Spider-Man is swinging around snapping pictures of people and landmarks until he surprisingly comes across the Olympian Prince of Power named Hercules, "Whoa, it's Hercules!"

"Ah, Spider-Man! It has been some time! What are you doing here?" Hercules smiled, revealing that he and Spidey know each other from previous adventures.

"I'm helping a Goddess of Light save the world. What about you?" Spidey responded.

"Just attended a meeting in the Council of Godheads. It was really boring." Hercules replied.

"Hey, can we take a picture?" asked by one of two beautiful goddesses approaching the men.

"Sure, no problem." Hercules gets ready to have his picture taken with the goddesses, only to be dumbfounded when he's handed their camera so he could take their picture with the equally-surprised Spider-Man instead, "Wow. That is a first."

While photos of him and the goddesses are being snapped, Spidey spots Pit calling out to him, "SPIDEY, COME OVER HERE! YOU WANNA CHECK THIS OUT!"

"I-I-I got to go! See ya later, Herc!" Spidey said his goodbyes to the gods before following Pit.

"Take care, my friend!" Hercules waves goodbye to the mortal spider.

Shortly after, the two dimensional heroes meet a trio of goddesses that wear cloaks and oversee the fate of the realms. "We are the Sisters of Fates, and we have been expecting you, Web Warrior. For it is our job to rule the destiny of man and god." The Adult Fate introduced themselves to Spider-Man.

"Oh goody, a trio of Madame Webs. This is my worst nightmare." Spidey quipped.

"That's coming really soon, trust us." The Child Fate snarked out some foreshadowing.

"I asked them about my future but it was confusing. They said something about Nature and Aliens leading to Chaos." Pit said to the webhead, revealing the Fates love to be cryptic and vague.

"Okay. What about my future?" Spidey asked the Fates.

Through her mystical eyes, the Elder Fate looks deep into Spider-Man's essence to foresee his destiny, "Through the Web of Destiny we can foretell your future. You will defeat your great enemy, and the multiversal war you have waged will end soon. You will lead your team so that they may face their darkest hour, but they will face it in a world that will forever be unified."

"You say the war will end and my friends will be safe. That is all I could ever ask." Spidey replied sincerely, "And what about the Divine Shadow? And the Exo Stones? Where are the remaining four?"

"The fate of the Stones are annoyingly difficult to read." The Elder Fate scowled.

"Your friends that approach might have uncovered a clue." sensed the Adult Fate, prompting the heroic duo to turn and spot their friends that are approaching.

"Guys come on, we're heading to the Halls of All-Knowing! There might be clues there on the Stones and the prophecy!" Weiss told them, just as what was foretold by the Fates.

The Halls of All-Knowing.

Here is the library of Omnipotence City, a source of infinite knowledge cared by an elderly god with pointed ears and likes flying around his endless library with fairy wings. After organizing a bookshelf, the all-knowing caretaker wasn't surprised at all upon being visited by Palutena and her champions, "Palutena of Skyworld. I must say, I never expected to see you here again."

"As long as Odin isn't around treating me like his unwanted secret daughter, I'll keep coming back." quipped Palutena, before introducing the caretaker to her friends, "Everyone, this is Lord Librarian. He is the caretaker of the Halls of All-Knowing."

"Welcome, children. What brings you to my library?" Lord Librarian asked them.

"We want to know where the remaining Exo Stones are and what the prophecy of the Divine Shadow is. We have enemies interested in them and we want to stop them before they become a real problem." Sonic informed the caretaker.

"Then you came to the right place." The Librarian gestured them to follow him through his archives. After a short tour of his amazingly gigantic library, he leads his guests to a bookshelf containing the answers they seek. "These archives contain knowledge of the past and many possible futures that go beyond this universe." He reaches for the book containing knowledge on countless cosmic items that he hands to Spider-Man, "Read through the Cosmic Chronicles carefully if you seek the Stones' secrets.", before reaching for the scroll of prophecies that he hands to Palutena, "And look for the passage in the Covenant of Yggdrasill that describes the Divine Shadow."

"Thanks, sir." Spidey said before gesturing to Pit, "C'mon, Lil' Wings, we're gonna teach you how to read ancient prophecies."

"Couldn't we rent an audiobook?" Pit snarked.

BGM-Sonic Adventure OST-The Past

The Goddess of Light takes a quiet seat alongside her friends so she can skim through the Covenant of Yggdrasill in peace. Most of the prophecies it contains are irrelevant to her questions, talks of Ragnarok and Convergence, none even hinting of the Divine Shadow. Except for one passage, which she immediately reads aloud upon noticing it, "When dream and nightmare collide, a conflict beyond the realms will culminate alongside the end of the gods…The sky will fall…The golden city will be sieged…And the realms shall be consumed by the shadow of the rising darkness. The Divine Shadow."

"When dream and nightmare collide…" Pit took note with a confused expression, "What did all of that mean?"

"That it bears a connection with Asgard." Palutena remarked, "The rising darkness…? Could the prophecy be referring to Medusa as the Divine Shadow?"

"It makes the most sense. She IS the Goddess of Darkness and has an excuse to wage war with Asgard." Pit commented.

"Odin must've believed Medusa to be the Divine Shadow that would destroy the realms, hence why he forbade her from Asgard." Palutena deduced before scowling, "Still doesn't explain why he did the same to me…"

"Better safe than sorry, I presume. You two were close friends." Lucina said stoically.

"Anything on the Exo Stones?" Palutena asked her other friends that are reading the Cosmic Chronicles.

Spidey replies, "Looks like. Talks about a Death Stone and an Ego Stone, what they can do and where we can find them…"

"That doesn't sound right. Can I double-check?" Lord Librarian intervened, sensing something amiss with the book as he takes it from the spider-mortal. He scans the book with his divine eyes to check what is right, what is wrong, if anything is misspelled and thensome. And what he discovers angers his old heart, "How did I miss this…The records here are fake! Overwritten!"

"You sure?! It described the Stones we know to a T!" Spidey retorted.

"Four of them were described correctly! The other four was erased from this only chronicle by forbidden magic!" The Librarian proclaimed.

"Who would do that?" Weiss asked.

"The God of Mischief." The Librarian answered sternly, much to everyone's shock and horror.

"Loki was here?! Now he's part of the Exo Hunt?!" Sonic realized.

"I'm afraid so." The Librarian stated before facing the heroes with a look of ominous seriousness, "Hurry! Return to Skyworld immediately! Defeat Loki and the Underworld! They must not get their hands on the Exo Stone hidden there!"

"There's an Exo Stone in my world?! For how long?!" Palutena retorted, much to her own great surprise upon learning this fact.

"Since ancient times. The last great treasure of a reverie god long gone, sealed away and protected by an immortal guardian." The Librarian answered, "The prophecy is underway and the Stone is linked. Do what you must, or else all realms within the two universes will succumb to a torturous sleep from they will never awake!" He warned the dimensional heroes, placing his faith in them to save the worlds from the nightmare that is the Divine Shadow.

BGM-Kid Icarus: Uprising OST-Solo Menu

KFX Here: Spider-Man's new "Spider Reflexes" move is based on the same move from the Spider-Man 2 (Movie) Game. That'll be the last of his unique powerups as this Medusa Arc reaches its conclusion. I'll do my best ending this year on a high note. I have been fighting off a cold lately. Wish me luck!

Guest 1 (Chapter 10): I did had the thought of adding Gorr the God Butcher but ultimately decided not to. I want to save him for a story where he's the main villain.

Guest 2 (Chapter 10): I watched Sonic Prime. It's good so far.
