Chapter 2: Meetings.
The trip to the meeting point did not take long, Ruby had passed through Nipton where it was now habitable, but a small museum had been made in honor of those who died at the hands of Vulpes Inculta, passed through Primm where the robot sheriff was still in operation which she arranged and finally reached Goodsprings where she would enter the bar. Upon entering you would see some customers drinking and chatting. few of the old inhabitants remained due to high taxes. Luckily Trudy stayed. She would notice that she was the first to arrive. He decided to wait for them with a drink, the heat was unbearable.
"Hey Trudy" Ruby greeted in her own way.
"Huh? Ah! Hello, Ruby! Long time no see and how much you've grown!" He said Happy to see that girl who saved the town from the gunpowder gang members.
"Same here, how has business been?" He said as he sat on a stool.
"You know, drunks pay a lot for alcohol and tourists spend their time taking photos and playing caravan" He said with a shrug. "Not much has changed since you left, have you?"
"I help with some favors for the NCR, you could say I'm an independent" He said with a smile.
"I'm glad for that, and tell me what do you want to drink?"
"Nuka cola with whiskey" Ruby said without thinking, maybe she didn't like alcohol, but sweetening it made it acceptable.
"Right away" He said to prepare the brew. "And where is this courier?"
"He went back to his old job" Ruby said, she lied about it. I knew that I was going to that great void to take care of the area. He told her to keep the location a secret.
"I'm happy for him," Trudy said as she finished her drink. "Here you have Ruby" He said to give it to her.
"Thank you Trudy" He said to take a sip and start talking to her about all the events that Goodsprings had.
As they talked a man would walk into the bar wearing a brown sleeveless trench coat with the old world flag on the back with a white shirt rolled up on the arms, jeans and wearing a stetson hat with some letters on it. His face had a short beard, tanned skin, and forehead scars from five (Two!) shots to the head and next to him was an Eyebot robot with a license plate with the letters ED-E. Seeing ace Ruby would come closer.
"And just when I was going to relieve myself, Bam! Aliens!" He said Narrating his story with encounters of the third kind.
"Hahaha!" Trudy River. "Oh dear, if I hadn't seen all the wasteland has to offer, I would have thought you were high on Jet."
"I remain firm, that aliens exist before my friends" He was going to drink his drink.
"Yes, but the aliens wouldn't be interested in the remains of a destroyed planet" The man said, Ruby turning around would see Six; a little older, but still the same.
"bip, bop. beep" (And if they were, they would only take Brahmins for who knows what).
"Six, Ed-e!" He said to hug him, normally he would take it off, but he let it go until he released it. "I'm glad you're here."
"Well, I wouldn't come here if it wasn't for something important. Trudy, whiskey," Six said.
"Beep, bop, beep" (He made me go)".
"To the order!" She said to take out a glass and serve the drink.
"Thank you" He said to take the glass and drink a little. "Not bad, and tell me Ruby. Why did you call everyone?"
"You'll see" He said to drink his. "I received a strange transmission on my Pip-Boy from a place called Commonwealth and it comes from a shelter that is asking for help" Ruby said seriously. "And I plan to go to investigate."
"Do you at least know where it is?" Six said listening to her.
"Beep, bop, beep" (I'm not going back to Washington). Ed-E said earning a look from Six.
"Well…I don't know, but I took my time and asked a caravan and they said they know a 'safe' route to get there.
"At least you have a plan and tell me how long will you be gone?" I ask Six seriously.
"I don't know…but I'll make sure I'm not gone too long, do you want to come with me?"
"Yeah, why not. I got bored doing the same old routine and I want some action" Six said casually.
"Thank you Six." "No problem boy, but tell your friends too, I'm sure they'll probably come".
"Yeah probably, for now" motioning to Trudy to bring them more alcohol. "To your health" by putting two drinks on them. The river for that. "To your health" He said for both of them to clink glasses.
While they were slowly drinking, the WBY and JNPR teams arrived who had changed a lot over time.
Nora had on her boomer jacket, but had a print of her hammer with a pink lightning bolt on the left sleeve, her shelter jumpsuit with the sleeves cut off. He had a patch with a heart on it, he had shaved half of his head and tied some braids.
Ren in his Kings jacket without a sleeve and modified to have a shoulder pad and extra pockets for his SMG ammo. On his face he had a mustache similar to his father's and he had long hair in a ponytail and styled like the gang.
Jaune had a ponytail along with a scruffy growing beard, he wore a ranger armor painted silver to resemble his old Beacon armor.
Phyrra wore a red and yellow dress shirt with a bronze metal left breast and shoulder pad along with jeans and military boots. He had let his hair grow.
Xanthos the eldest 4 year old son had red hair and wore a blue shirt with shorts and his 3 year old sister.
Vermilion with blonde hair wore overalls with a green shirt. overalls with a green shirt.
Yang was wearing a trench coat but had on a top that showed her midriff along with ripped jeans at the knees, her right side had barely grown a bit, but skin was still showing along with her lobotomy scar.
Blake was wearing Daniel's missionary clothes, his hair was a little short.
And finally Weiss, she had a short, professional cut and wore the stealth armor of the great void underneath her lab coat.
"Nice to see you Ruby!" Yang said as he hugged his sister.
"S...same...say" Ruby said as she was crushed by force.
"I think you should let her go," Blake said.
"Huh? Oh! Sure" he said releasing her for Ruby to take a breath.
"Thanks Blake" He said as he took a deep breath.
She would just nod for that.
"Aunt Ruby!" The children said when they saw her.
"But look who they are!" He said to hug them both. "How much have they grown!"
"Aunt Ruby, can we play catch the Gecko?" Xanthos said happily.
"No! Better to marbles" Vermilion said.
"Calm down children, let your aunt take a breath" Jaune said. "Nice to see you Ruby."
"I'm saying the same" he said happily. "I see the rangers gave you that armor."
"That's right, one day they came to Jacobstown and gave me this armor for helping out during the battle for Hoover Dam."
"I'm glad, Hi Phyrra, how has life been treating you?"
"I'd say good, at least we don't need the covers" Phyrra said with a sincere smile.
"Dad!" Nora said to hug him tightly. "ByOum,I'mgladtoseeyou,howhaveyo been?AreyoustillvisitingthisBigEmpty?HowisMommyCassidy?Didyoufinallygetmarried?Ifso,Iofficiallysaytomymother."
"Nora, let go!" Six said trying to break free of his bear grip.
"Hehehe, ops I'm sorry pa" Nora said with a smile. "I'm just glad to see you."
"Yeah, same to me. Nice to see you again Ren."
"Same here, Six" Ren said calmly, but with a smile.
"Nice to see you Weiss!" He said to give her a quick kiss. "How did your research go?"
"It's going well, but I feel like something is missing" Weiss said annoyed.
"Come on, I know you can do it" She said with a smile, Weiss blushed but turned her head so she wouldn't see her.
"I'll take that compliment, but tell me why did you call us?" The cheerful atmosphere had been extinguished by a serious one.
"Well..." He sighed. "I got a transmission on my Pip-Boy from a shelter. One hundred eleven. But it's in a place called the Commonwealth and I plan to go there" Ruby said.
"Absolutely not!" Yang said worriedly.
"But sister, those people need help."
"I know, but do you have any idea where this Commonwealth is? What's more, what new dangers does it have?"
"I agree with Yang, do you even know where he is?" Blake asked.
"Well, it tells me that he's out of the Mojave," Ruby said. "But I made my decision to go, I am no longer that girl with delusions of a fairy tale."
"But you know what this world is like, what if it's a bomb hit zone?" Weiss said trying to reason with his girlfriend.
"I know, but I asked a caravan and it says it has a route to get there."
"But" Yang tried to speak. but Ruby would stop her.
"Look, I understand your concerns and I appreciate it, but I've already made my decision and I'll go to Haya" Ruby said seriously. "I just called them to notify them, I don't want them to have problems. They already have their life."
The group remained silent, with which he said he was right. None of them were those teenagers with airs of being heroes, now they were just another part of the food chain and had lived through things similar or worse than any person has done.
"I'll go with you" Yang said leaving his concern. "You need someone strong."
"But...".
"They probably need medical help, I'll go" Blake said leaning against the wall.
"I'll go, you'll need support" Jaune said.
"Kids, do you want a vacation?" Phyra said in agreement.
"Yes mom!" Both children said.
"I only go if there is action" Nora said excitedly. "It will be like a road trip, but trade the car for a caravan of brahmans and dangers, but hey! It's an adventure".
"Wherever you go, I'll go with you" Ren said calmly.
"Awww, you are sweet Renny!" He said to hug him.
Everyone would see Weiss annoyed with her arms crossed, she would just give a tired sigh. "Even if I say no, they drag me anyway. I'll go, but only to keep an eye on this idiot" Weiss said.
"I...Okay" Ruby said relenting.
"And when will we leave?" Ask Six.
"In two for the caravan to be ready."
"I guess they'll go the famous Jet route," Six said. "I heard they can make it to the other side of the country".
"I hope they're not wrong" Nora said happily, but she got a little depressed.
"Too bad our friends can't come, because of their lifestyles".
"I know, but at least we have Ed-e to support us."
"Beep, bop. beep!" (I'm not going on an adventure with you, the redhead addicted to pancakes is special!).
"Unfortunately you have no choice Ed-e" Six said preparing a cigarette.
"What did he say?" asked Jaune.
"Nothing important," Six said finishing his cigarette lighting it. "For now let's relax and enjoy this meeting."
"I couldn't agree more," Weiss said.
The rest of the night they talked about their lives and what they plan to do when they return to Renmant, Ruby was happy that her friends accompany her, but she felt a strange feeling of discomfort from this place.
The day of the trip had arrived and everyone was ready, everyone had brought ammunition for their weapons, medicine and supplies. I was going on a long trip.
"Alright, everyone listen up!" Said the leader of the caravan. "Our destination is the Commonwealth to a place called Bunker Hill, make sure you go light, because there will be no stops. Unless to eat and sleep. Do you understand?"
"Yes" Said one of the guards.
"Better get moving as soon as possible" Said a woman with a large bag.
"Pray that everything goes well" Said a traveler who joined.
"Love for that," Six said in agreement with him checking his weapons. "Okay, let's go" With that word everyone started walking.
"Hold on. Let's go" Ruby thought while her group was alert.
