In a corner of the multiverse, there exist a dimension governed by a Galactic Federation where representatives and delegates from many civilized planets coalesced to establish this intergalactic congress. Trade prospered thanks to this government, with thousands of ships ferrying goods between planets across the galaxy. It was a golden age of peace and prosperity. Until now.

It was a regular day on the peaceful Earth when a massive interdimensional portal suddenly opens in its atmosphere, summoning a gigantic armada of heavily-armed flying battleships, containing what seems like hundreds or thousands of battleships of varying design, many resembling alien-like floating islands, with the entire fleet cloaked from the planet's most advanced proximity sensors. The evil leader behind this invasion is a Metal-Masked Monarch, sitting in the throne of his flagship wielding a cosmic blue Stone that he clenches to harness its unlimited power over Chaos. With it, he surprises the capital city of the world, its Galactic Federation Headquarters, with a catastrophic energy storm that renders most of the population insane and vulnerable to an all-out attack from the enemy fleet. The Galactic Federation Army respond in a desperate attempt to retaliate against the invaders, using HQ's weaponry and their own fleet. But the invader's advanced weaponry easily destroys them both, with HQ left in ruins and the fleet shot down.

Within hours, Earth has been conquered by these Masters of Evil. Entire cities have been destroyed. Local human resistance is losing ground to the Masters' combat troops. Their greatest champion, the armored Bounty Hunter Extraordinaire, Samus Aran. Even her full power could only delay the inevitable until she was defeated after an intense battle with the Masters' greatest champion.

"This ought to do the job." said Grimadoom the Hedgehog, the Supreme Lifeform. Sporting a new royal hooded black tailcoat with golden trims, he thrusted his hand charging up an energy blast that will destroy the bounty hunter, "This was a fun fight, Aran. A shame it has to end this way."

"Even if you destroy me, Grimadoom…other universes will rise to defeat your tyranny…" Samus proclaimed while on the verge of death.

"Then I'll just have to destroy them ALL!" retorted Grim, annihilating her with that energy blast. He then rises to the sky and contacts his master, "The last of the resistance is destroyed, Doom. You're free to blast this world to hell."

'Activate the Chaos Energy Cannon.' ordered Doctor Doom, Supreme Leader of the Masters of Evil.

Aboard a cannon-based space station, a mysteriously second Chaos Stone charges the machine to maximum power so it may fire a massive beam on the planet. Earthquakes spread throughout until the entire world shatters into multiple continents hanging over the planet's core. Doctor Doom watched it all from the comfort of his flagship then watches his Alien Islands hovers over the core to taps its thermal power, sucking it of all its energies until the Earth is left as a lifeless shattered husk.

"And that's another dimension conquered by the Masters of Evil. The most challenging one this week." joked Grimadoom, upon entering the command deck to stand by his father's side behind a window and look at the planet they killed in mere hours.

"Not by much. I will, however, commend it for yielding better results of the Chaos Stone Prototypes. I knew the Aurum's technology would help with my research." Doom commented, stoically as usual.

"Useful, but they were a pain to conquer." Grimadoom grimaced, briefly reminiscing how difficult it was for the Masters of Evil to conquer this mysterious alien race, "Are you sure our new A.I. will keep those insects in line?"

"Absolutely. Our systems are constantly being monitored and updated with each new technology we procure from the fallen dimensions. This world will be no different." Doom explained, staring at his forces harvesting this dead world's resources.

"And the seven more that needs conquering by the end of the day. But you can do that without me." Grimadoom quipped while walking away, "I'm heading back to the Fortress to get some shut eye."

"That is unusual." Doom dryly teased his creation.

"I'm not your Doombots. I get tired. We've been conquering dimensions for weeks or months that I've lost track of time. It's not consistent throughout the multiverse. I'll tell Ock you said hello. I'll lie." Grimadoom retorted with a snarky smirk.

Doom scoffs, "Sleep well, my son."

"Don't do anything I wouldn't do, father." smirked Grimadoom, before walking through a dimensional portal that transports him out of this reality, leaving Doom to continue basking in his absolute victory over the Galactic Federation. And it won't be long until the entire multiverse falls before his glory.

War Room, Palutena's Temple. World of Kid Icarus.

"I can't believe Hades was behind the entire Underworld Invasion!" Pit said gloomily.

It was not that long ago when Medusa, the Goddess of Darkness, was vanquished by the heroics of the Goddess Avengers Alliance. Only for her defeat to give rise to an even greater threat. Hades. The True Lord of the Underworld. And partnered with Loki, he has his own plans that will literally bring hell to two universes. What those plans could be are being discussed right now by the heroes in the war room.

"He was working with Loki from behind the scenes! They created Medusa to distract everyone!" Palutena stated.

"Why didn't you mention Hades sooner?! We KNEW something strange was going on with the Underworld and you never bothered to bring him up!?" Spider-Man asked, furious with the goddess for hiding this secret from the team.

"I'm sorry. He just wasn't relevant." Palutena retorted.

"Relevant? He is the LORD of the Underworld! ANYTHING involving the Underworld is relevant!" Spidey argued.

"It's not like I ever met the guy! Hades has been hiding in secret for decades using Medusa as a puppet!" Palutena angrily bud heads with the spider.

"Not an excuse to never bring up rumors or anything we should investigate! We're dealing with tricksters that don't play by the rules!" Spidey bickered.

"You have a tendency of keeping secrets from us! Playing with our lives and keeping us in the dark until the last second!" Weiss chimes into the conversation in support of Peter's argument, "Pit may follow your orders blindly, but not the rest of us! We're a TEAM! All of us aren't gods, but we must TRUST each other if we want to get the job done!"

"Alright, alright, I get it! Can we focus on the immediate Hades problem again please?" Palutena retorted in annoyance at the good points her friends bring up about trust.

"All-knowing god with tunnel vision…!" Spidey snarked.

"That's enough!" Lucina silenced everyone by slamming her strict hands on the war table, "Innocent people are being harmed by the Underworld while we argue! We made a vow to protect them and that is what we're going to do! So get a grip on yourselves!" She demanded, giving everyone a moment to calm down before discussing their next move, "Now, what do we know about Hades? From reputation and myths?"

Back to her usual solemn demeanor, Palutena answers the question, "…I think it's fair to say that he is the Master of the Underworld in all stories. He is immeasurably strong, even among the divine pantheon. Arrogant as he is, he claims to have a sense of humor, which mainly serves to conceal his callous disregard for life."

"So he's like the Hades from Disney's Hercules, except not voiced by James Woods." Spidey quipped.

"Are we right to think he's the Divine Shadow spoken in prophecy? No one could've saw his darkness rise from the shadows." Sonic questioned.

"Except Loki." Weiss crossed her stern arms.

"What do you think Hades is really after? The Exo Stone?" Pit discussed.

"Something just as big." Palutena claimed, "He hasn't just overstepped his realm—he's kicked down the door. What I DO know is that Underworld forces are assembling at a volcano. And that's where today's mission will be taking us."

"Then let's hurry. We'll have fun arguing another time." Spidey ordered the team to get ready.

Later…

BGM-Kid Icarus: Uprising OST-The Wish Seed (Volcano Route)

The Warp Door opens in the skies above a volcanic wasteland for Pit and the Dimensional Avengers to fly out toward their latest mission. "Back to default? Did the Norn Stones run outta power?" Iron Spider teased his friends, with Sonic back to using his Hover Shoes and the girls riding their Sky Cycles.

"We're only saving them for the big battles." Weiss replied.

"An adventure's no fun if its too easy." Sonic joked.

"I prefer a comfortable journey. When the situation calls for it, we will use our God Power. For now, let us focus in improving our abilities the natural way." Lucina elaborated.

"By constantly getting shot at and facing death multiple times." Spidey quipped.

"And avoiding such fates, yes." Lucina snarked.

Fires erupt as intimidating pillars across the landscape, with Underworld Troops patrolling the area until they were shot at sight by the passing heroes. "Oh, I just put it all together! The Underworld Army is here to steal magma!" Pit idiotically believed while attacking more goons.

'No, Pit. Hades wants the Wish Seed.' Palutena sighed at his stupidity.

"Oh. Of course." Pit said sheepishly.

"Not an Exo Stone?" Lucina questioned.

'No.' Palutena claimed.

"Are you sure?" Spidey questioned her again, not believing her.

'From what I've HEARD, it is just the Wish Seed and it can grant any single wish!' Palutena retorted with more irritation in her tone, 'As you might imagine, it's quite sought after.'

"I could really use one of those! My wish would be to fly by myself!" Pit happily announced his deepest wish.

Palutena quips, 'Yes, yes, I'm well aware of that. Anyway-.'

"Don't change the subject!"

'Heh heh! The Underworld forces seem to be very interested in the Wish Seed.' Palutena chuckled.

"Who knows what Hades and Loki would wish for it if they got it?! It could be a total disaster!" Pit assumed the worst of their intentions.

'I couldn't agree more. Let's hurry, Pit. If Hades has entered the game, he's playing to win.' Palutena proclaimed.

"Plus, if anyone deserves a wish, it's me!" Pit remarked.

"That's selfish." Weiss called him out.

"Okay, what wish would guys want granted?" The annoyed Pit retorted.

"I already received my wish of vanquishing Grima and restoring my world thanks to my friends. I need nothing else." Lucina smiled, rejecting a desire for the Wish Seed.

"I'm already the Fastest Thing Alive that can find adventures at my leisure. I don't need any Wish Seed." Sonic grinned, having no need for the Wish Seed's power either.

"Weiss?" Pit turned to her.

"I do have family issues and a company I want to run perfectly one day. But if there is one person that deserves a wish more than me…" With an entrusting smile, Weiss turns her head to Spidey saying, "It'd be you, Peter."

BGM-Sonic Unleashed OST-No Reason

"Me? Are you sure?" Spidey reacted in shock, caught off-guard by his friend willingly passing up a wish for him.

"Absolutely. You're the Hero of New York that has suffered more times than anyone else our age. You've saved countless lives without asking for recognition, or reward, or even thanks. With the Wish Seed, you can bring back your loved ones. Better yet, you can use it to save Harry. Out of everyone here, you've earned the right for some happiness." Weiss explained herself, with the others silently, and happily, agreeing with her argument.

Smiling gratefully behind the mask, Spidey solemnly says, "Thank you, Weiss…But I'll have to decline.". He also declined the Wish Seed, much to her and everyone else's surprise.

"What?! Why?!" Pit retorted.

"Because there are other people out there suffering way worse than me. Some who lost whole families, or their job and are left homeless. I rather wish for a world where everyone is happy. Not create it through some magic seed but through our own hands. You can't give us our future, we've got to fight for it ourselves. Or we won't treasure the world we got, we'll take it for granted. Struggling. Really earning for it. That's the only way we'll appreciate being alive." Spidey said with a wisdom that amazes even the goddess listening to him, "'Sides, I don't want to mess with Harry's head any more than it already is with magic. I want my words to convince him that I'm still his friend, not the monster he believes killed his father."

'Peter…' Palutena muttered with a sombering tone and a subtle heart that is respecting his wishes greater than before.

"That…makes sense." Pit admitted sincerely, feeling terrible for being selfish earlier, "Okay. We'll work together to create the best world where everyone can live happily!"

"It will become a reality. Only after we defeat the Underworld." Spidey proclaimed.

"Then let's go stop them from stealing the Wish Seed!" Pit declared eagerly.

"YEAH!" The Dimensional Avengers agreed wholeheartedly before speeding themselves up.

BGM-Kid Icarus: Uprising OST-The Wish Seed (Volcano Route)

With a strengthened resolve to create a better world through their own hands, the heroes fly through a cave that leads them over a large, highly active pool of lava. "This is incredible!" Sonic commented on this wonderful sight to behold.

'Yes, the volcano's guardian puts on quite a show.' Palutena said.

"Who's the volcano's guardian?" Weiss asked.

'The immortal bird who lives there. The Phoenix.' Palutena revealed.

"Didn't Lord Librarian mention an Exo Stone being protected by an immortal guardian?" Sonic recalled.

'He must be referring to someone else, because I'm not sensing any Exo Stones.' Palutena claimed arrogantly.

"How do you know what Exo Stones feel? Are you holding out on us again?" Spidey snarked.

'Can we stop with the arguing?! I don't know where the blasted Stone is!' Palutena retorted, really getting fed up with the accusations.

"And you boast of having an all-seeing eye." Spidey teased, much to the goddess's exasperation.

"Hmm…So if the Phoenix is protecting the Wish Seed…Does that mean he created the Wish Seed too?" Pit wondered.

'That reminds me... Phoenix eggs make the most divine omelets. Or so I've heard.' Palutena quipped.

"Stop changing the subject and GIVE US A STRAIGHT ANSWER!" Weiss retorted furiously at the playful goddess.

Shortly after, the heroes are sent through a volcanic ravine with more persistent enemies that barely slow them down but do help work up a sweat. 'How are you holding up there?' Palutena asked.

"We're…very sweaty." Pit wipes the sweat off his forehead.

"This is why I love wearing armor. Built-in air conditioning." Spidey quipped, feeling cool while looking cool destroying monsters.

"Stop showing off!" Pit retorted jealously.

'There's an alternate tunnel route that might be cooler.' Palutena noticed.

"Oh, good timing!" Weiss commented while flying out of the ravine.

'But it will take us a little out of our way. I'll let you decide which way to go. Veer right to go directly to the volcano or left to go through the tunnel.' Palutena offered them the chance to choose their route.

"Spidey and I love to live dangerously." Sonic smirked with the eagerness for the most dangerous route.

"To the volcano!" Spidey retorted excitedly, with him and Sonic flying directly to the volcano.

"They're toast." Weiss punned, "Let's head into the tunnel."

"I hope it's cooler in there!" Pit hoped, following the girls into the tunnel.

A volcano suddenly erupts in the distance from where Sonic and Spidey are racing each other toward the finish line. Both are flying at high speeds in terrain infested with enemies and where volcanic activity is particularly intense. Doesn't stop either from being dramatic daredevils performing cool tricks by several molten structures spewing lava in different directions.

BGM-Kid Icarus: Uprising OST- The Wish Seed (Cave Route)

In contrast, the tunnel route Pit and the girls are taking is cooler and less hectic to venture through. At first. "The magma level's rising in here…" Pit noticed, which is making the group uneasy."

"Hopefully it won't rise too fast…" Lucina hoped.

As they head toward the exit, they find themselves trapped when a waterfall of lava pours down in front of them, which increases their fears. "Augh! There's nowhere to go!" Weiss exclaimed in a fright.

'Stay calm, Weiss!' Palutena attempted to assure them that everything will be fine.

"Stay calm?! You're not the one who's about to get steamed like a dumpling!" Pit retorted.

'I said STAY CALM!' Palutena emphasized.

Quickly, she finds them an alternate exit for them to fly through. "Whew. That's a relief." Pit sighed.

'Guys! Behind you!' A concerned Palutena was quick to shout at a rising fiery threat.

Now scared to the bone, the trio turn their heads to be left horrified at lava rising at an alarming rate. "WHOOOOOOOA-OA NO, NO, PLEASE NO!" They screamed, pushing themselves to the limit by fleeing from the lava at top desperate speeds.

'Hang on!' Palutena shouted.

Back with Sonic and Spidey, they just finished having a fun race by the volcano when they bare witness to lava spewing out from the tunnel path's exit. "Whoooooa!" Sonic remarked in amazed awe.

"That was a close one. Good thing we didn't go through that tunnel." Spidey said with a sense of relief.

"Yeah, that would've been bad. Or super awesome to outrun!" Sonic smiled with excitement at the thought of outpacing a volcanic eruption.

"Uh-huh." Spidey noddingly agreed.

Out of nowhere, the two goofballs are smacked furiously across their heads by Weiss, after her group narrowly escaped from the eruption with their very lives and bodies that are feeling hotter than normal. "THERE WAS NOTHING SUPER AWESOME ABOUT THAT!" The infuriated Weiss berated the two bruised daredevils.

'Get ready to land soon, Avengers.' Palutena informed them.

"Boy, I hope my sandals don't melt." Pit prayed.

'Don't worry. I'll get you some new ones after this mission.' quipped Palutena, while escorting the heroes down to a landing spot on Phoenix Mountain.

Phoenix Mountain.

All Dimensional Avengers land safely on the ground, dematerializing their flying equipment for the remainder of the mission. Pit, however, arrived a little too fast and skids to a halt, tipping over an edge saying, "Whoa. Whoa whoa whoa. Whoa!", before falling over the edge.

"PIT! Hold on, I'm…" Thinking he fell to a fiery death, the horrified Spider-Man rushes to his rescue, only to immediately and nonchalantly calm down upon seeing him safe on a lower strip of land, "Oh."

BGM-Kid Icarus: Uprising OST-Phoenix Mountain

"Take it easy, will ya?" Pit rubbed his aching head.

'The Underworld Army has already reached the Phoenix. But they're facing severe resistance.' Palutena informed the heroes.

"The Phoenix sounds challenging. So if we want the Wish Seed too…" Lucina commented.

'That's right. You'll have to defeat the Phoenix.' Palutena proclaimed.

"I was afraid you'd say that." Pit frowned with concern.

'Don't worry. He's the Phoenix. He'll come back to life.' Palutena stated.

"That's not exactly what I'm worried about. What I mean to say is...I'm not scared. I'm not scared at all!" Pit retorted, more concerned for his own life when he faces the deadly Phoenix.

"Saying it twice doesn't make it more convincing." Sonic snarked while walking ahead of the frightened angel.

"How about if I say it a third time? I'm not scared at all!" Pit repeated himself with a more worried tone.

"Let's hope it's not like the Phoenix from my universe. That one likes to possess mutant redheads and destroy planets." Spidey commented.

"Why is your universe so scary?" Pit retorted with a scared expression.

The dimensional heroes begin their heated venture through Phoenix Mountain, making their way through pools of lava, caves and many Underworld forces wanting to stop them from reaching the Phoenix. The extreme heat and endless lava make it impossible for human life to survive on this mountain, but the heroes are able to survive thanks to Palutena's Power of Cooling. Spidey launches himself from a point for some hardcore parkour through the heat, running perpendicular on a wall until he senses danger and web-zips away before it erupts fire. The likes of Pit, Weiss, and Lucina are taking it slow, carefully skirting along ledges over magma pits that Sonic excitedly ignores by spinning on a makeshift ramp that propels him over, until all warriors reunite through a door where they are telepathically greeted by their new god enemy.

'Well, helloooooo there! Glad to see you made it!' Hades playfully greeted his lovely adversaries.

"Hades!" Pit snarled.

'Don't forget about me.' Loki chimed in.

"I wish we could forget about the divine clowns." Spidey quipped.

'Settle down there, Bugs. Ladies don't like high-strung fellows.' Hades snarked.

"You would know, or did Persephone not get sick of you yet?" Spidey smirked snarkly.

'I'm liking you already. Your soul is so amazingly whimsical. The strongest mortal that surpassed Medusa. I cannot wait to covet it and use it against humanity.' Hades commends his witty attitude for matching his own, voicing his intentions to kill Spider-Man so his soul could be used to create the strongest solider in the Underworld. 'And it looks to me the "good guys" want to covet the Wish Seed too. Tell me, goddess, what do you wish for? Is it all kittens and rainbows, or is it something more…interesting?'

'I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours!' Palutena quipped.

'Thanks so much for asking! I just have one humble, little wish.' Hades magically projects to the heroes a hologram of a young child crying by two coffins, 'You see this poor child? Both of her parents are dead. Awww…There was an unfortunate accident, if you know what I mean.'

"You mean you murdered them!" Pit retorted, easily seeing through his mischief.

'It was a simple case of distracted chariot driving. I shouldn't have been doing my hair.' Hades quipped, much to the heroes' growing hatred for his callous nature, 'Anyway, I was hoping to use the Wish Seed to bring back the parents.' The hologram then changes, displaying the same child with a cake and two zombie parents, 'Can you think of anything more joyous than a family reunion?' The hologram changes again, this time displaying the child and zombie parents with piles of money, 'Then after that, they'd strike it rich—like, rolling-in-dough rich!' It then changes to the family wearing crowns, 'And then we'd slap crowns on all of them and make 'em royalty! And that's the general gist of my wish. Pretty noble and not at all evil, right? I can't think of anyone MORE deserving of the Wish Seed than yours truly.'

"I can think of a couple hundred people." Sonic quipped.

'Let me get this straight. You, the lord of the Underworld, supported by the God of LIES, want to revive the dead. That's somewhat at odds with your "mission statement," wouldn't you say?' Palutena snarked at the dark gods.

'Don't tell me the goddess of light hasn't heard of altruism before.' Loki joked.

"What a load of baloney!" Pit retorted.

'Our intentions are pure. As lord of the Underworld, you have my word.' Hades wisecracked.

'That just makes me more suspicious.' Palutena remarked.

'How cold of you. Your words pierce my heart like a Laufey icicle. No offense, Lokes.' Hades teased while also mocking Loki's Frost Giant father.

'None taken. Don't like him either.' Loki quipped nonchalantly.

"You two need counseling." Spidey jested.

An Underworld horde is spotted ahead, with an Exo Tank noticed nearby, which gives Pit and Sonic a devious idea. Sonic runs alongside the little angel riding the Tank, both activating their Boosts to ram through the horde whilst approaching a ramp, jumping stylishly off it and over Spidey and Lucina fighting off more monsters.

'The monster situation is quite clamant.' Palutena noticed.

"Is that a good thing?" asked Lucina, confused by her advanced vocabulary while deflecting a fearsome attack.

'You know, it's importunate. Or unpropitious.' Palutena continued confusing her with the big words.

"Can you speak in English right now?" Lucina retorted while destroying some Skuttler Mages.

"She is. Just wants to act like a know-it-all. Let me make this easier for you. Big monsters kill Avengers grr!" Spidey quipped, backflipping from a Dark Elf's attack.

"Ah, that makes sense! Thank you!" said Lucina, knocking down the Elf by kicking another enemy onto them.

Shortly after, Weiss and Pit enter a room that doesn't have an exit. Just a switch on a large statue-like platform that the angel hits, causing their platform to slide downwards and revealing the exit. "Now that the statue has settled into the lava, I don't think it'll budge." Weiss commented.

"Well, I wouldn't either if I was soaking in a nice hot bath." Pit quipped, sharing a smile with the heiress.

As the team press forward, Sonic comes across a gluttonous monster that would've eaten him if he didn't roll out of the way at retreating speeds. 'Well, look at that. It's an Underworld Guttler.' Palutena recognized the creature as a Guttler.

"So, what's its deal?" Sonic asked while clashing with the monster.

'It gobbles up friends and foes alike, getting extremely strong in the process.' Palutena described.

"Don't I know someone else like that? He's pink and small and has a belly of a black hole?" Sonic wondered, evading the Guttler's mouth again.

'Yeah, that guy is way more terrifying. Yet so adorable.' quipped Palutena, while the hedgehog tricks the Guttler into diving into a lava pit to satisfy its deathly appetite.

"Look, kid! A hot spring!" Spidey found a Hot Spring room for his kid angel.

"Score! Who's got two thumbs and loves hot springs?! Everyone with two thumbs!" Pit expressed with utmost joy before taking a short break in the hot spring.

"Why are you encouraging him?" Weiss stoically scolds the webslinger for allowing Pit to relax during this dire situation.

"Kid's still a kid. And the spring brings him back to full strength. He'll need it for the Phoenix. I can sense we're getting close." Spidey replied, glancing at the direction of their destination.

'Oh, Palutena! Pretty Paluteeeeena! Can you hear me?' Hades bothered her with his terrible singing voice.

'Of course I can hear you.' Palutena retorted dryly.

'You never told me your wish. Even after I bared my very soul to you!' Hades urged her to uphold her end of the deal.

'Right. Your wish? I don't buy it. In fact, it makes me doubt this entire story. Answer me this: does the Wish Seed even have the power to grant wishes?' Palutena questioned.

'You're a sharp one. How'd you guess?' Hades admitted, revealing to the shocked heroes the falsehood that is the Wish Seed.

"What?! Are you serious? The Wish Seed is a fake?" Pit retorted as quickly as him running out of the hot spring.

'It's so obvious to me now. I mean, the idea of a Wish Seed is pretty farfetched. An item like that could make anyone more powerful than the gods.' Palutena said.

'You, my dear, have not heard of Cosmic Cubes.' Loki snarked.

'Your universe is an exception for being an absolute marvel of insanity!' Palutena retorted angrily.

"If the Wish Seed's fake, then why is the Underworld Army wastin' time going after it?" Sonic asked.

'To make everyone—us included—believe that it's real.' Palutena answered.

'Can't get anything past ol' Professor Palutena, now can I?' Hades quipped, before bringing up a good note about humanity, 'If there's one thing you can predict about humans, it's their greed. It's physically impossible for humans to resist the lure of a wish-granting item.'

'And since they can't get the Wish Seed from the Phoenix to see it's a fake... You need them to THINK that someone has made off with it. At which point, they'll drive themselves to extinction battling for it.' Loki added.

'And that's good for my business. An ingenious plan, if I do say so myself.' Hades wisecracked.

"But the Phoenix himself could wipe out humanity if the Underworld sets him loose." Lucina realized in horror.

'You're right. We have no choice but to defeat him. We've fallen right into the Tricksters' trap.' Palutena admitted.

'Flattery will get you nowhere, my dear! Actually, scratch that. It'll get you a hot date with the Phoenix. Ciao.' Hades snarked.

"Hold up just a sec!" Spidey exclaimed.

'Yes, Bugs?'

"I understand how this plan benefits Hades, but what about you, Loki? Soul harvesting isn't your style. What do you gain from this?" Spidey asked the Asgardian trickster.

'Simple. Power. The stronger the Underworld is, the better my chances are to rule Asgard.' Loki answered.

"Your chances are moot without Exo Stones. And you and I both know an immortal guardian protecting it as we speak." Spidey retorted coolly.

'You're smart for an insignificant insect.' Loki admitted slyly, adding another small surprise for the other heroes to react to.

'Wait, what? The Phoenix really IS guarding an Exo Stone?' Palutena retorted, feeling like an idiot.

"Sometimes you gotta think outside the box when dealing with tricksters of two universes." Spidey advised his friends, before telling Loki, "We know of your little visit to Omnipotence City, stealing secrets on the remaining four Exo Stones. That's a reason why you allied with Hades to make finding them so much easier. One of them was hidden in this mountain. It'd be stupid to hide two powerful world-bending relics here. Though the Wish Seed is fake, I can imagine it's a great place to seal the real prize. Like one of those toy capsules you can win at amusement parks." He theorized smoothly and impressively.

"You're saying the Exo Stone is INSIDE the Wish Seed?" Pit questioned his crazy idea.

"I get it. If we thought the Seed was nothing but a fake, we would've just left it alone for Loki to pick up without trouble." Weiss realized.

"We would've been double tricked!" Pit retorted.

"Not unless we get to the Seed-Stone first! Move out!" Spidey ordered, leading the team fast so they could reach the Phoenix in time.

'To be outsmarted by mortals. You're losing your edge, Palutena.' Loki calmly mocked his all-knowing old friend.

'I'll take pride in having a team that picks up my slack if it means defeating you!' Palutena retorted both fiercely and genuinely, starting to trust her friends more.

The home of the Phoenix is not too far off, just that the path is swarming with Underworld monsters that are looking and shooting to kill anyone that wants their cosmic prize. Sonic and Spidey take to the skies, delivering Homing Attacks and unleashing Web Strikes respectively that knock the air out of aerial demons. The combined forces of Lucina, Pit, and Weiss fight their way through the zigzaggy pathway, shooting down Remoblam and Remoblamlings and being careful around their dangerous explosions. One explosion did knock Weiss off the path, only for Spidey to quickly catch her mid-swing and throw her back so she may swiftly impale a Monoeye in its eye.

'The Phoenix is up ahead.' Palutena informed, as the heroes approach a large platform.

'Go die now!' Hades jokingly wished them.

Pit and the Dimensional Avengers finally arrive on the platform, spotting the Wish Seed levitating in the center. "The Wish Seed looks real enough…" Pit observed.

"What's inside is the most dangerous." Spidey replied grimly.

"SKREEEEEEEE!"

Immediately, the heroes perk up upon hearing then noticing something in the distance. "The Phoenix!" Pit exclaimed.

Here he comes. The fiery bird born of magma that roosts within a volcano crashes down in the form of a fiery ball. The Immortal Phoenix has made its flaming entrance, complete with screeching that prompts Palutena to say, 'He's not going to let you go without a fight!', and the heroes to strike their intense fighting pose.

BGM-Sonic Unleashed OST-Boss Battle (Night)

"Secure the Seed! We can't allow birdbrain or anyone else get away with it!" Spider-Man fiercely ordered his team.

The screeching Phoenix won't let anyone steal his Seed unless he falls, and he won't make any attempt a walk in the park. He envelops himself in constant flames and shoots homing feathers at the heroes, who are quick to scatter and flee from the flaming pinions. "So we should go ahead and attack him?" Pit asked.

'You have no choice. Unless you want to be flambéed. The Phoenix is cranky after fighting the Underworld forces. Who knows what he's capable of? You need to stop him.' Palutena said.

"Oh, WE WILL!" retorted Pit, coolly countering his feathers with several arrow shots that causes him to screech and fly around.

Spidey grabs the Wish Seed and immediately senses the giant fire bird charging at him with raging speed. "Oh god!" He dodged, but was scathe and accidently let the Seed go flying until it was caught by Sonic. "Weiss, douse its flames!" He ordered her quickly to use her water magic, watching her hit the beast with a powerful water blast that forces him to land in order to rest and reignite. An opportunity the Web Warrior won't allow with a leaping punch across his face, then midair spins to conjure a large web hand that grabs the beak for a brutal backflip kick. Spidey lands back on the ground to unleash a dominating flex and an insulting taunt, "Shame you're not Dark Phoenix, otherwise I'd be terrified!"

That taunt reignited the furious flames of the Phoenix, encouraging him into spewing out massive flamethrowers that tricks the arachnid into retreating and accidently getting swallowed by one of its tornadoes. Enduring attacks from Pit and Lucina, the Phoenix searches for his Seed until he menacingly spots it in the hands of Sonic the Hedgehog. "You want this? Just try and take it from me!" taunted the smirking hedgehog, who quickly runs from the bird's rampage. Explosive rocks and fireballs don't slow the mobian down, and with the Phoenix distracted, Weiss can focus on shooting his back with more water blasts. Phoenix then has enough and lands with the flaming force to cause an earthquake, knocking down Weiss and tripping Sonic to the point of letting go the Wish Seed.

"I got it!" Lucina quickly grabs the Seed before running from its screeching guardian.

Recovering back on her feet, Weiss fires a water blast powerful enough to douse the Phoenix's remaining flames. And just in time for a recovered Spidey to deliver a blitzing punch across its face that's instantly followed up with a web-zipping kick on his eye. Pit then dashes at the stunned beast with his Upperdash Arm, using it for a fearsome uppercut on the chest that sends himself into the air, where he uses a spinballing Sonic to complete his pair of boxing gloves for a double diving smash on his head.

"Take that, Ho-Oh!" Pit taunted smirkingly.

"Dark Gaia Phoenix you ain't!" Sonic added in more insults that enrage the immortal bird.

In desperation, the Phoenix unleashes one powerful tornado that consumes the entire arena and its heroes. All five teenagers are sent high and flying upward with lots of screaming, with Lucina losing the Wish Seed in the process. The Phoenix makes one last flaming charge to catch the falling relic with his mouth, only for Pit to catch it instead at the very last second. "Hurry and cool him off!" He urged his friends amidst freefall. Spidey is as quick with his web shots as Weiss with her water blasts in their freefalling attempt to weaken the bird once more, but he has gotten sick of their strategy and manages to slam them both down with a fireball storm. Upon landing, the Phoenix was going to finish them off but was surprisingly entrapped by a massive blue tornado courtesy of Sonic.

"Gotta hate it when the shoe is on the other foot!" Sonic quipped.

With the winds blowing away his flames, the Phoenix was left weakened for one final assault. Lucina lands and immediately takes charge with a flurry of slashes that ends with Sonic roundhouse kicking the bird across the face. Pit stuns the beast with another Upperdash Arm attack, allowing Spider-Man to jump on and grab him by his head. "Strike three, monster!" Summoning all his spider-strength, Spidey begins overhead throwing the giant bird, and with a ferocious roar, "THAT'S ENOUGH OUT OF YOU!", slams him hard into the middle of the arena, which cracked from the spectacular force.

"Phoenix extinguished!" Pit declared, with the rest of his friends letting out a triumphant holler.

'I'll have a nice, cold drink waiting for you when you get back.' Palutena said, while Spidey slams one of his fists into the open palm of the other for brief celebration.

Upon his defeat, the Immortal Phoenix lets out its final screech before collapsing and exploding, leaving behind a fiery beacon in his place. The Wish Seed itself also bursts open before the heroes' eyes. After proving themselves worthy to its guardian, the true power of the Wish Seed reveals itself floating in midair, enveloped in a golden light brighter than the Goddess of Light. As soon as it dims, the heroes and the goddess from Skyworld bear witness to a golden cosmic stone that allows itself to be held by the Webbed Avenger.

"This is…" Sonic stares in awe at their new Exo Stone.

"The Exo Stone." Weiss finished, looking just as awestruck as her furry friend.

"So that's an Exo Stone." Pit noted.

"At last, our fourth one." Lucina stated.

"Am I allowed to say 'I told you so' to a god?" Spidey joked.

'No.' Palutena snarked dryly.

But just then, ominously, clapping was heard from an observer in the shadows. That observer revealing himself to be none other than Loki, still clapping and smiling before saying, "Bravo. Congratulations on your find. You truly deserved it."

"And we'll make certain we keep it." Spidey retorted, with the team taking defensive stances against the trickster god.

"For now. Right now, I'm here to make an announcement." Loki said, remaining suspiciously calm despite losing the Exo Stone to the heroes.

"That your plan failed?" Pit mocked.

'Oh, please! It's just beginning!' Hades quipped, 'The beacon tells the humans of the Phoenix's defeat. And that will make them think that someone has taken the Wish Seed, which isn't far from the truth. Now I'll just give them a little nudge.'

"Oh no, Hades. Leave that to me. I have a way to sound more…" And through his dark magic, Loki shapeshifts into the exact form of the Goddess of Light herself, Lady Palutena. "Convincing." He smiled deviously with the voice of the goddess herself.

"Wha-? Lady Palutena?" Pit reacted confusedly.

The real Palutena, however, reacts in horror as she knows exactly what Loki plans to do, 'Loki, NO!'

BGM-Super Dragon Ball Heroes OST-Despair Approaching

Upon clearing his throat, Loki spreads his disguised voice telepathically across the entire planet and speaks to all humans simultaneously for one deceitful announcement, "People of the world, this is Lady Palutena of Skyworld with an important announcement! The Wish Seed has been liberated! Stolen by a group of costumed fugitives known as the Dimensional Avengers! Anyone who arrests or kills them will be given the chance to fulfill your wildest dreams! The best way to goad them out is by conquering anyone in your way! Thank you for your services!" He announced with a sinister smile that terrifies the heroes.

After returning to his original form and ruining the heroes' reputation, Loki jokes, "How do you rate my performance?"

'Ten out of ten! I can already hear the world cursing out Palutena's name!' Hades quipped.

"HAAAAAA!" screamed the Avengers, furiously rushing to attack him for tricking the world. But their attack did nothing, revealing that Loki wasn't really there but was only a mirage of him created by magic.

"A…A mirage?!" Weiss reacted in shock.

"Damn you!" Spidey angrily cursed him.

"The people will NOT be so easily deceived!" Pit said confidently.

'I wish that were true, but I foresee major bloodshed. This is all my fault.' Palutena frowned, feeling guilty as her light shines down over the heroes.

"No kidding." Loki snarked before watching the furious heroes be whisked away.

'Are you sure it was a good idea to leave them with the Stone? Once they learn what it can do, they can easily destroy us.' Hades privately discussed with his partner.

"They won't. They rather uphold their morality, and will have their hands full with the humans. They are not aware of the Stone's opposite, giving us time to search for it. For 'when dream and nightmare collide'…is when the prophecy can be fulfilled." Loki answered with a foreboding tone, implying that the heroes' nightmare is only just beginning.

Deep in Outer Space…

BGM-Rockman. EXE Sound Navigation OST-WWW Theme

There is a spacefaring fortress resembling an incomplete Death Star that is constantly guarded by a massive Masters of Evil fleet. Grimadoom is in a bedroom sleeping peacefully. Dreaming. Until he is hit with a sudden vision of the golden Exo Stone that was just discovered at Pit's World, awakening him into exclaiming, "An Exo Stone."

At a laboratory, Doctor Octopus, another sinister member of the Masters, was in the middle of researching ways to perfect their enigmatic Chaos Stone Prototypes when his computer sensors also detected a strange energy emitting from Pit's World. "What did the Aurum detect now?" The annoyed Doctor checked his computer and quickly became interested in what it discovered, "Hmm…Interesting. There is a huge energy spike at the Earth of this dimension. I know the human race can't help but to war, but this is highly unusual…What is going on over there, I wonder?"

Just then, Grimadoom enters his lab announcing, "Hey, Doc! My Exo Senses have been tingling."

"You detected a new Exo Stone?" Ock retorted in shock.

"Seems to be at this reality's Earth." Grimadoom proclaimed.

"What a coincidence. War has all but consumed the planet and the Aurum is getting antsy." Ock noted.

"I'll go check it out." Grimadoom volunteered.

"No, you're not! Not after the last time we let you roam free in another world!" Ock retorted angrily.

"Are you still blaming me for Grima? Last I check, you ALL helped in reviving him." Grim quipped.

"Only so we could control him! Not to satisfy your ego and let him nearly destroy all REALITY!" Ock recalled, furiously blaming the hedgehog clone for that fell blunder that nearly wiped out existence. "This time you're being chaperoned!" And through the fortress's communications, he contacts, "Enchantress! Super-Skrull! You're needed in the laboratory for an important mission!"

It only took another few seconds for two of the latest Masters to appear in the lab through Asgardian teleportation magic. The sorcereress responsible, and looking godly beautiful in a charming green dress, is Amora the Enchantress. And by her side is Super-Skrull, the alien shapeshifter that possess the fantastic powers of the Fantastic Four.

"You called, Doctor?" Enchantress playfully asked him.

"An Exo Stone has just been detected on the Earth of this reality. Go with Grimadoom and investigate and establish a beachhead. It is time to show the known universe that the Masters of Evil rules all." Ock ordered the trio, sternly looking forward into adding another Earth to the vast collection his alliance has conquered.

KFX Here: The Masters of Evil have returned and they have been busy. Just to let you know, the Samus that died here in just a variant. She's not the same Samus that appears in the Smash Brothers crossovers. Unlike the original story, Metal Sonic and Mecha Spider-Man will NOT have any involvement in the Aurum Arc once we get there. And if you recall, Doctor Doom's interest in the Aurum was teased back in Race 15 of Transdimensional Racing RX. The Viridi Arc is just beginning, as we're about to be introduce to the titular character.
