Chapter 3: Unfriendly Meeting

Ethan didn't like the thought of something being able to jump out at him at any time. He already verified that the mold monsters are here.

He tried to find some supplies to help but most he got was some expired food. Didn't even want to try it, especially after what happened at the Bakers house.

He noticed that there were some corpses of oversized bugs. Don't want to meet whatever killed them. Because some of them are bigger than they should but they also had swords and armor?

Now he definitely doesn't want to see it. Ethan noted that the bugs had some weird glowing orange in some of their eyes.

One of them was still alive and tried to attack him, running at him and stumbling but still managing to stay upright. Laid it out with his shotgun and it burst into a bunch of orange. Wonder what that orange stuff is?

His thoughts were cut short when he heard an impact somewhere. Shortly after it he saw something red whizzing by.

Ethan decided to ready his revolver because he knew a fight might be coming.

Hornet was confused because she was in an unfamiliar location because this definitely wasn't Hallownest. Thing was, that some of the buildings look similar to the City of Tears.

She was going to try and scale a tall building she saw but what interested her was a loud explosion like noise from nearby. Which most likely means a person was there.

Wasting no time she quickly forgot the tall building and went towards the noise. When she got there Hornet saw a strange creature.

It looked like it was squishy. She saw that it was looting the bodies that were around. It looked like it knew what it was doing.

Might be able to provide answers. Throwing her needle and pulling herself down. As soon as the needle impacted a wall the creature turned around fast.

As soon as it saw Hornet it started reaching for a strange contraption on its waist. Hornet knew a fight might be imminent.

As soon as Ethan got his revolver out he shot as fast as he could because as soon as it started moving again he might not be able to hit it.

The strange contraption let out a burst of light and Hornet heard something hit her needle and felt it almost get flung back. Whatever it was she determined it was a weapon now.

Ethan's eyes widened when he saw its sword deflect the revolver's bullet and he heard it fly right by his head.

"By the gods!" Hornet needed to get that weapon from it. She dashed past it, which Ethan wasn't ready for and felt a searing pain in his arm which hurt like hell. He remembered this kind of pain.

"GOD FUCKING DAMMIT!" Ethan saw his entire hand gone. The same one which he was holding the revolver with. He had two choices, go for his revolver or go for his hand and reattach it.

Hornet heard it scream in a language she didn't recognize. She saw it staring at its arm horrified, which was almost funny, almost. She would've just went ahead and killed it but she wanted some answers so she sliced off its hand.

If he got his revolver he would only be limited with it but if he got his hand he could use his shotgun which would be a blessing because of the bullet spread.

Ethan decided for his hand but the creature just watched him. Felt like it was judging him. He quickly got out his healing liquid and ran for his hand.

Hornet watched the creature pull out a jar of liquid and grab its hand? What could it possibly do with… DID IT JUST REATTACH ITS HAND?!

Ethan while he reattached his hand he inspected his enemy. Looked like it had some armor on which could possibly be a problem so his best bet was shooting its head. Looked fragile enough.

After his hand was reattached he saw the creature stare at him in awe?…amazement?…fear? Whichever one. He wasted no time reaching for his shotgun.

Did…wha…how? Was all Hornet could think. She was sure that it wasn't lifeblood but it used the liquid to get its hand back.

She then saw it reach for something on its back and grabbed what she assumed to be another weapon. She dashed to the side to see a folly of bright sparks pass by her. But she heard an impact behind. Looking back just to see a huge hole in the wall.

Ethan wasn't able to hit the creature. He was already tired of this shit. He had to somehow distract it or stun it. He had to bring out his ace.

Hornet recovered from the dodge just in time to see him pull out another weapon. You gotta be kidding me. Is all she could think before she heard a loud explosion, have everything go dizzy and all she could hear was ringing.

Ethan misjudged the stun range and stunned himself some but was able to get a shot off with the shotgun. He only ended up hitting its arm but at least it was something.

Hornet had felt some pain in her arm. She misjudged the creature and she retreated because its weapons pack a serious punch.

Ethan saw the creature jump up and disappear behind some building. Great, now I have to keep looking behind my back.

Hornet decided it would be best to watch what this creature does from a distance since it would most likely attack her on sight now. But if it knows something about what's going on then it's her best bet.

FIGHT! FIGHT! Yeah I know the fight scene sucked but it's something. Speaking of fights. Pineapple on pizza. Personally I don't care. Anyways have a good day, afternoon or night and see you in the next chapter.
