Miranada was a busy woman, having spent almost a century of planning and experimenting to ensure she could find a vessel for her Eva to be reborn, as such she had little patience for distractions, which was why, having the eloquent yet morbidly obess merchant wasting her time was quickly earning her ire.
"Duke, I hope you have a reason to bother me, you of all people should be aware to not try my patience." She said coldly, cutting the Duke off from whatever he was talking about.
"Ah to the point as always Mother Miranda, well while we usually don't do business, it seems another had brought me to you, specifically to bring something to you." Duke said eloquently, his aloof and amused demeanour never shifting like always. However, Miranda was intrigued by what he said, it was odd someone would send her something so anonymously, it meant they were not from the village and also did not wish to be known which made the village matriarch suspicious.
"What did they send me?" She asked calmly.
Duke smiled before reaching him and pulling out two parcels held together in twine, with a note attached, Miranda took the packages in hand before reading the note, much to her surprise.
"This is for Donna?" She mused aloud, prompting a chuckle from the Duke.
"Yes, however, the stranger asked believed it would be better if her mother gave her this gift as he called it." Duke paused and reaches for a scroll before holding it out to Miranda. " He also mentioned these instructions were to be shared amongst your children, whatever he has given, it seems to be rather complex." The travelling merchant commented, Miranda raised an eyebrow at the mention of instructions, putting the packages down on her table and opening the scroll, she began to read it when her eyes widened from surprise, she went over the notes and was impressed by the level of detail. She frowned when she reached the end and saw the creator bad signed it as "R".
"Seems he neglected to leave us a name, did he say anything else." Miranda asked Duke who sighed.
"I'm afraid not, he simply gave me the money then wandered off to who knows where, laughing manically, although I do believe I heard him mention something about fun." Duke informed, Miranda was not pleased but focused more on what was written, seems this stranger had given something that could prove most useful.
"Well, I'd hate to take up more of your time, I'll be going now, good day, Mother Miranda." The Duke stated jovial before he vanished back into his cart and proceeded to leave her abode, thst suited her fine as she had a few calls to make.
-- moments later...--
The atmosphere in the old stone church was tense as the four Lords made there way within to the sudden meeting Mother Miranda called, Donna Beneviento was already sitting, waiting with Angie who cackled in delight as the other Lords arrived. Next was the tall and deadly beautiful Alicuna Dimestrecu, walking in with an air of superiority and seating her self closest to where Mother Miranda would address them. Next shuffled in the putrid pulsating hunched figure of Salavtore Moreau, who looked around skittishly, wringing his hands nervously as his waited anxiously for Mother Miranda. Finally, arrived the youngest and dangerous Lord of these lands, Karl Heisenberg, carrying his trusty hammer in tow as he plopped down on one of the seats, barely hiding his disgust for the other Lords present.
Once all the Lords arrived, a flock of crows flew into the church and landed at the altar, the feathered fiends soon gave way when six large wings appeared and banished them from sight, allowing Mother Miranda to appear before her four children.
"My children, I'm glad you could arrive on such short notice." She said calmly.
"Of course, Mother Miranda, we will always answer your call." Dimestrecu said aloud, forcing heisenberg to roll his eyes at her boot licking.
"A-always, Mother!" Blubbered the bulbous doctor who bowed.
"Yeah yeah!" Chittered with cackling glee the doll Angie who shook in Donna's grasp.
"I do have to say, I'm intrigued, why the sudden invite? Mother Miranda." Heisenberg asked in response, bowing his head slightly to the matriarch.
"It appears something has recently come to light that may be fortuitous for our plans." Mother Miranda stated, grabbing the attention of all the Lords who listened with interest, Miranda reached into her robe and pulled out the scroll the Duke had given her and held it out for them almost to see.
"This scroll had been passed onto me by the Duke, he says a stranger had asked for it to be sent, as a gift to Donna." Miranda explained, surprising the Lords as they looked to the quiet doll maker who looked equally surprised if the stunned expression on Angie's face was any indication.
"That is rather peculiar, do you need us to find whoever sent this...gift?" Alicina asked, casting a weary eye to the dollmaker.
"No, it seems they chose to disappear after sending this parcel, it seems that they also know quite about about us." Miranda stated cooly as the Lords fell quiet in curiosity.
"Ohohoho! So what's the gift!?, what is it!?" Asked the excited voice of the demented puppet who hopped in joy before Miranda, holding out her hands in a "gimme" kind of way.
"Patience, my child, I was getting to that." Miranda gently admonished, causing Angie to bow her head slightly and put her hands behind her back like a child.
"As I was saying, they know quite abit as the gift is instructions for something interesting, something that requires all of you to create it."
The Lords all were taken aback by this as Miranda unfurled the scroll and began to read.
"They state this would create a doll of brilliant design and capability, however to crest it requires the efforts of all four of you, it seems they require some of your wine, Lady Dimestrecu." Miranda explained as she went though the instructions, she chose to ignore the look of indignation that appeared on Alcina's face and continued before shecoukd interrupt.
"From House Heisenberg, you'll need to craft these parts, they insist they need to be made from a metal polymer." Miranda stated as she held put a scroll that had been inside the package to Karl who examine with a skeptic eye.
"Hmm, their not asking much." He said bitterly before turning to Mother Miranda. "I'll start as soon as I'm back at my factory." He obeyed before sitting back down.
"Moreau, they find it necessary for you to modify some of the cadou, using this vile of blood, I trust this won't end up as your previous failures." Miranda stated coldly to the Village's doctor who nodded frantically.
"Of course Mother Miranda! Anything for you!!" He whimpered pitifully as he careful held the vile in his hands. Miranda could barely hold in her disgust for the man before she turned to her final child who wait expectantly for her instructions.
"Finally, Donna, it seeks the stranger saved the most important task for last and for your capable hands." Miranda began before she rolled up the main scroll and walked to Donna and her doll who both watched with baited breath as Miranda held out the scroll to her, with hesitation, Donna reached out and took the scroll.
"Once Heinsenberg has made the parts, Lady Dimestrecu has given you her wine and Moreau has the Cadou ready, you will create its body." Miranda explained, holding out the larger parcel to the young dollmaker who took in evident excitement if Angie's shaking and cackling were anything to go by. Donna unwrapped the parcel with care and removed the wrapping to see a jar sat inside, but it what could be seen within that took her full attention as it was a strange brain, the colour was egg white and it almost looked like a toy, but the amount of detail made it a very convincing fake.
"Let me see!" Cried out Angie as she jumped on the spot and pressed her face against the glass, no one expected the brain to spin in the jar and furiously tap its spinal cord against the glass like a wild animal.
"It seems there are some mysterious elements we can learn from this project, I expect you all to make this your priority for the time being, that is to say do not neglect your other duties, there is much to do before it's time." Mother Miranda made clear, here voice leaving no room for argument, satisfied with the affirmations from her children, Miranda sent them off, she was intrigued by the schematics and read them thoroughly, if this was successful, despite her doubts, then it would prove a boon in bringing back her sweet daughter, a small part of her hoped it would work, then again, time would tell.
--After much time --
Miranda could not help but stare at it, seeing it in the blueprints had been one thing but to stare at it laying before here was another matter entirely. Seems Donna and Heisenberg had done their job very well, the body was laying on the table in her laboratory but it almost rivaled Dimestrecu in height, facing short a foot or so. It's design was best off a male with long limbs, smooth smart red hair and blue eyes, Miranda noted other parts of the body that were to be noted for her notes, this body had two separate containers one at the base of its neck and the other in its chest. Mother noted thst the schematics had made it clear that these were to ensure if one cadou was damaged the rest can escape without worry, it was a strange part.
Speaking of the parasites, Miranda had immediately take note and examined the parasites when Moreau had actually managed to complete his task and the results were worth noting. The cadou had taken the material from the vial and seems to have resulted in a minor mutation, strange sacks appeared on the parasites, that appeared to do nothing and Miranda looked forward to seeing what they would do. Miranda was ready to add the last component for this new experiment, the generously donated blood from Dimestrecu which was to be poured into the containers before the cadou were inserted, doing just that, Miranda placed the parasites into the two slots and watched with rapt attention as they drained the blood completely from the containers and saw the sacks fill with the same blood only to watch as the colour shifted and darkened into a vile purple colour. Miranda watched as the chest and neck sealed themselves and the cadou squirmed and mutated before her eyes, the tendrils shot out and exited into the different ports fromt the cintainer that followed the different hand made vessels through its body and head.
It was quiet as Miranda observed the body and head, there were no significant changes and Miranda was quickly becoming disappointed, had this been another failure, Donna assured her that she had put the brain in the head for the procedure, Miranda now believed that whatever plans she was given must have been a failed experiment and she had been foolish enough to trust in them. Miranda turned to check the schematics again, intending to dispose of them when she heard the faintest creak, she turned to the table and the body and head were gone. It seemed someone was playing dead, Miranda looked around her lab and saw no signs of any change which meant one thing, sure enough she looked up to see the body cling to her ceiling, Miranda was fascinated by this, she was about to speak when the body spammed as if electrocuted and fell, it hit the table and bounced onto the floor, Miranda was written as she walked over to look at the body.
It twitched as its limbs twisted and moved in unnatural ways, arms bent backwards and hands turning full 360 in their wrists, just as suddenly as it happened, the body reset itself and was back to being still on the floor. Mother Miranda simply raised an eyebrow at this as she made an educated guess that the mutations caused the reactions as the body adjusted to accommodate the changes.
"Ooooh woweee, where did you get these?" Asked a high pitched and eery voice, surprising Miranda as she turned to find the head now sitting beside it's own schematics as was reading them. This was very interesting to Miranda as she observed the head, the pale blue eyes darted across the page like any human would, a wide grin across its face with large teeth.
"You recognise these?" Mother Miranda asked, the head who nodded rapidly, letting out a Childish giggle that reminded her of a certain doll.
"Yes indeedy! Why wouldn't I remember my own blueprints, that would be silly!" It said childishly.
Miranda was curious, how did this know it's own blueprints, furthermore, how's already speaking so well, she could only guess that the brain was the reason or its advanced mental capacity.
"I must admit, you are an odd being, do you have a name?" Miranda asked calmly, her authority light in her voice.
"Oh! So sorry, my name is Benjamin. D. Benford, but please call me Benny." He said with a grin, Miranda analysed the Head of Ben for a moment, she knew this could be a boon to her work, his eyes flickered behind her for a moment, suddenly a large polymer hand suddenly grasped the head and carried it off the table, Miranda followed the head and turned to see the body standing right behind her, towering over her similar to Dimestrecu. With its large hands, it placed the head on its shoulders and with a quick spin, it snapped into place, completing the towering man who grinned at the Matriarch.
"I'm Mother Miranda and I brought you to life, my child." She said.
His eyes widened at that as he leaned forward, his grin widened even more, showing his large teeth as he neared Mother Miranda's face, excitement appearing in his eyes.
"My new momma, do I have siblings to play with?"
Miranda could see things were going to be interesting with this new experiment.
--later that day--
The four Lords were once again in the stone church waiting for their mother to appear again, while no one said anything to each other, it was clear they all had the same thing on their mind, had there been a success with the project, Alcina was hoping the blood she supplied pleased Mother Miranda, she worried that the shoddy work of her fellow Lords would sully her efforts. Moreau hoped the cadou he provided were enough and Mother would praise him, so he could show the others he was competent. Karl was curious if the design worked, if it did, it could help him with his revolution. Finally, Donna simply wondered if she was gonna get new friend, she hoped she would.
Once again, the flock flew in and their mother appeared before them in her robes as she stared at them all with approval for their attendance.
"Hello again, my children, I'm glad you could come to another sudden meeting." She paused as she let them let out their greetings before continuing.
"I have called you here to discuss the project, thank you for your efforts, I believe the results speak for themselves." Miranda said, the Lords looked around curiously, one doll being very excited and loud.
"Where!? Where are they!?!" Angie cried out as she looked around the church.
"Hey how about over there!"
"I already checked..." Angie paused as she turned to face the unknown voice as did the other Lords.
There beside the doll stood a tall man wearing a purple and green shirt with a big yellow flower on the chest and large blue pants that ended at large jesters shoes, two large red circles were on his grinning face as well as a green bowler hat thst sat on his head. Benny grinned as he eyed everyone who stared back with a range of different emotions, he appeared confused as he tried see what they were staring at.
"What, what you all staring at?" He asked curiously, looking over his shoulder, before his torso turn more and more and slowly it turn in a complete circle till he was facing them again.
"Mother Miranda, is that the toy?" Dimestrecu asked hesitantly, nor impressed by the first impression from this dim-witted doll.
"Yes, as you can see, he has been brought to live, it appears our unknown benefactor gave us an interesting opportunity." Miranda said.
"So these are your children, hehehe I always wanted siblings, who wants to have fun!?" Benny asked the Lords who again were having it hard to believe the benefits from this.
"Seems like he js nothing more than a child." Dimestrecu scoffed as she stood and examined the toy who chuckled before surprising the Lords by growing in height until he just towered over Dimestrecu.
"Seems like he is nothing more than a child, look at me I'm so posh" Benny mimicked the voice of Dimestrecu, prompting a fit of giggles from Angie and Karl while gaining a murderous look from Dimestrecu.
"How dare you!" She snapped.
"Enough." Mother Miranda said firmly which forced the two to simmer down and listened as she took control.
"Benford, I have brought you here to introduce yourself to your siblings, I trust you won't make me regret that." Her tone made the air turn cold, but Benny never let his grin slip as he bowed dramatically.
"Of course, Mother." He said simply before sitting besides Donna who looked at him with intrigue.
"Furthermore, when you were handed dover to us it was stated you would be a gift for Donna, so hence forth you'll be with her." Mother Miranda said with a clear and serious tone.
Benny turned his head to Donna and Angie, his grin widening even more.
"Oh, this is going to be lots of fun." He said before letting out a squeaky laugh that Angie mimicked, prompting a worried or annoyed glance from the others in the room.
