Spider-Man: Watch out! Here comes the Spider-Man! Last mission had us take on Viridi's most powerful commander named Phosphora and a rematch with Harry. He was stronger than ever before, and Phosphora wasn't a slouch either. Deep down, I know both of them are very good people. Why can't we all just get along? Because of the gods? We need to get our act together soon. I have a bad feeling the sky is gonna fall or something.

Issue 16: Masterful Invaders

Palutena's Temple, Skyworld. World of Kid Icarus.

It's been a busy week for the Goddess Avengers Alliance. Nonstop action from the air to the land against the worst threats this dimension has to offer. They defeated the Goddess of Darkness. Obtained the Exo Dream Stone. Weakened the Forces of Nature. They earned the right to sleep soundly and peacefully through this early morning, with Peter, Pit, and Sonic sharing their own room, and Lucina and Weiss sharing another. Both rooms were peeked in by Palutena, who smiles warmly from watching her friends sleep well before closing their doors.

The lone Goddess of Light goes outside her temple to enjoy a morning walk, making little stretches and small yawns while the sun rises in the distance. "Everyone is sleeping sound. Must be the Dream Stone's influence. I slept like a baby…" Palutena monologued to herself as she continues, "We'll need all our strength to beat Viridi. Once they're awake and we eat breakfast, we're heading out." She then smiles, "I must confess. The Avengers…It's nice having them around. They taught Pit lessons I never could give because I lack experience as a human. Mortal they are, their spirit rivals the gods. And has taught me what its like to be in a family. I wonder…" She then ponders, "If they make Pit an Avenger, should I make the same request?" She asked herself, thinking of becoming a Dimensional Avenger in order to better understand humanity.

"I'm not giving you a letter of recommendation. Being an Avenger is so overrated."

Startled by that familiar voice of a childhood friend gone evil, Palutena turns to find Loki just walking out of a column's shadow with the most casual smile. The angered goddess blasts the trickster far onto a private grassy terrain where he lies in pain and Palutena warps to his location and summons her staff in a threatening manner.

"What are you doing here? To steal the Dream Stone? Assassinate everyone while they're asleep?" Palutena interrogated him.

Loki just laughs, "I missed you too."

"Do I look to be in a gaming mood?!" Palutena retorted angrily.

"Oh, you should thank me." Loki quips while standing up, "My actions with the prophecy have lured your new friends to you. More precious little humans for you to love."

Palutena drops her staff to pick up Loki, her friend, with an irritated mood. Although she is angry for what he has done, friends are everything to a man or goddess. "I missed you." Palutena admitted somberly.

"Less than him?" Loki remarked calmly, referring to Thor.

Palutena retorts, "I missed both of you. Sif, Heimdall, the Warriors Three, Freyja, heck a bit of me even misses your father…"

"THOR'S father." Loki mockingly corrected her, with the mention of Odin only angering him further, "You did learn of my true parentage, did you not?"

Palutena lets go of Loki and watches him walk away from her, causing an even bigger wedge between them as she tries to reason with him, "We grew up together, we played together, we FOUGHT together despite born from two different worlds. Do you remember none of that?"

"I remember a shadow." Loki turns around, slowly losing his calm attitude as he retorts, "Living in the shade of Thor's greatness. I remember you too busy fawning for that oaf that you forget I was around." He implied to have loved Palutena in the past, "I remember you and Medusa destined to be Queens and Thor to be King. I should and WILL be king!"

"So you take the world I love as recompense for your imagined slights. No, this world is under my protection, Loki." Palutena retorted at his jealous attitude.

Mockingly, Loki laughs at her, "And you're doing a marvelous job with that. The humans slaughter each other in droves, while you idly threat. I mean to rule them. And why should I not?"

"You think yourself above them." Palutena remarked sternly.

"Well, yes." Loki admitted.

"Then you miss the truth of ruling, my friend. A throne would suit you ill." Palutena somberly told him.

BGM-The Avengers (2012) OST-Mountaintop

Angrily, Loki shoves his former friend to the side and walks to the edge of the floating island to continue mocking her, "I've seen worlds you've never known about! I have grown, Goddess of Light, since our parting! I have seen the true power of the Exo Stones! I have seen one erase a GALAXY'S worth of stars that not even gods can withstand! And when I wield all eight…"

"Who showed you this power?" Palutena demanded upon learning there is an unknown enemy out there in the multiverse wielding an Exo Stone, "Who scares the would-be-king?"

"I AM A KING!" Loki snapped.

"NOT HERE!" Palutena grabbed him with a fury she has never unleashed before, "You give up the knowledge of the Stones! You give up Osborn and your forces! You give up this poisonous dream and prophecies!" She then calms herself to just tearfully say this, "You return home."

"I don't have it." Loki claimed calmly. That wasn't what Palutena wanted to hear as her staff flies back to her furious grasp and is used to charge a threatening energy blast if he doesn't speak the truth. "You need my notes to find the remaining Stones, but I've sent them off I know not where."

"You listen well, Loki. I…" Suddenly, Palutena stops her vocal threat as she senses something amiss. One look at the stratosphere and she realizes what it is, much to her absolute gasping horror.

"I'm listening." Loki snarked while wondering what is terrifying her. He too looks up and is shocked to find a massive dimensional portal has opened above the planet. "Oh. That is not my fault." He casually claimed, with the glaring Palutena not believing him at all.

Shortly After…

"I'm…so sleepy…" Pit said, just as tired as the Dimensional Avengers that were startled awake by a distressed Palutena a few minutes ago. Everyone sluggishly makes their way to the door, with Peter yawning while his fellow Avengers groan with displeasure at their sudden mission. They all just fall out of the door without a care in the world, promptly lifted up by their respective flying equipment moments later before they became a sleepy stain on the mountains.

'Sorry to drag you out so early, but we've got an emergency. We have a BIG problem. Bigger than all of us gods.' Palutena announced telepathically.

BGM-Mega Man X7 OST-Black Plotting

"What's a bigger emergency than us losing sleep…" Iron Spider tiredly quipped. The hero teen can barely keep his eyes open to watch a cluster of floating islands shooting beams at the human world below. "Whoa…" He commented through his grogginess, only to blink and immediately go wide-eyed alongside his now fully-awakened and horrified friends at the global destruction happening before them, "WHOA WHOA WHOA! What is THAT?! Are we dreaming or did we get teleported to Independence Day?!"

"It's…it's ransacking the earth!" Pit notices the beams pulling pieces of land out of the ground and drawing them to the islands.

Suddenly, a hoard of unknown futuristic enemies flies out from the islands to attack the heroes. "We have company!" Sonic spotted.

"They're firing on us!" retorted Weiss, frantically dodging laser fire from the mysterious enemies.

'I'm not even sure what THEY are!' Palutena admitted.

Whoever this enemy is, they have sent basic white triangular troopers that are kept in the air using a mysterious antigravity technology. They seem to be called Tribytes and are somewhat fast and mobile, capable of shooting lasers that can be unpredictable at times. They give the Avengers little trouble however as they are quickly destroyed from just a few attacks, but it does make Spider-Man question, "They're organized, but who's giving the orders? I never encountered such highly advanced technology."

"Maybe they're a new unit of the Forces of Nature?" Pit theorized.

'Come on now. Do they look "natural" to you?' Viridi quickly deflects the claim upon chiming into the conversation.

"Vi-!"

'Morning, do-gooders!' Hades also chimes in while interrupting Pit.

"Don't tell me you two are behind this!" Lucina blamed them for this ransacking.

'Sadly, no, though I do applaud any and all violence directed at you.' Hades quipped, shooting down the accusations as well.

'Plus, you should know that I'd never work with Hades. In fact, I was about to destroy him when THEY suddenly appeared.' Viridi claimed.

'No, they saved HER at the last minute.' Hades snarked.

"What 'bout Loki?" Sonic pins the blame on the God of Mischief.

'Not me either. But they do remind me of the Chitauri.' Loki chimed in, also claiming that he's not responsible for this sudden attack on the planet.

"So no one has an idea what they are?" Spidey remarked.

'I'm sure know-it-all Palutena is just dying to illuminate us.' Hades quipped.

'Unfortunately, I don't know any more than you do. I can only tell you that they're not of this world.' Palutena revealed.

"You mean they're…invaders from space?!" Pit gasped in shock.

"Gods, monsters, and now aliens? This world is working for that craziest dimension award." Spidey joked.

'They're not just invading. This swarm is harvesting whole sections of the earth! They're like bees taking pollen back to whatever hive they call home.' Viridi compared.

'Not to quibble over details, but I think locusts are a more apt analogy.' Hades snarked.

The situation grows even stranger when Spider-Man suddenly detects something through his armor, "Hold on, I'm detecting a broadcast from an unknown channel. They're releasing camera drones to every major city on the planet."

'The aliens want to say hello? How polite. Let me project a screen for us to watch.' Palutena responded.

A large holographic screen is then projected before the heroes for them to watch and figure out who, or what, is leading this alien invasion. Who is seen on the screen is a male human scientist wearing red glasses and highly advanced green and yellow armor, complete with four sinister metallic tentacles that were horrifically recognized by the Dimensional Avengers as they realize that this master invader is none other than, "DOCTOR OCTOPUS?!"

BGM-Sonic Adventure 2 OST-Conquest

'WAAHAHAHA! People of this dimension! I am Doctor Octopus, the Scientist Supreme of the Masters of Evil, and I have come to accept your unconditional surrender!' Doctor Octopus introduced himself to every realm in this dimension. To Palutena at Skyworld. To Viridi and her Forces of Nature. To Hades, Loki, and their Dark Avengers at the Underworld. And from across the Overworld, Magnus and trillions of other widely confused humans turn to his massive image being projected from his drones and listen to what he has to broadcast and what they will surely not enjoy, 'In the last dimension I visited, you have all already joined our cause. And on every Earth we conquer, it plays out the same way. Some of you will join us. Others will resist. But eventually…ALL WILL SUBMIT TO OUR WILL.'

Suddenly, one major city is assaulted to demonstrate the Masters of Evil's unspeakable power to the rest of the world. Badniks like Egg Pawns immediately overpower their militia. Creatures of Grimm like Beowolves instantly terrorize the civilians. And sinister creations like a giant, green, and terrifying Mechtopus machine that obliterates the city with just several laser beams from its cannons. The people of Earth watched it all in horror as Ock continues with his sinister broadcast, 'And to the Avengers and Gods that were selfishly warring with each other without realizing we have been here. Know this…YOU called us here and WE have answered for your blood! WAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!' He laughed with absolute malice, ending his broadcast while his immense army is unleashed onto every corner of this soon-to-be-conquered planet.

"No way! THIS is the Masters of Evil you guys were talking about? They just unleashed the apocalypse on the entire planet!" Pit exclaimed with horror from what the heroes just witnessed.

Frustrated upon seeing his old nemesis is up to no good again, Spidey expresses, "Octavius! He's in way over his head this time!"

"But how were they able to conquer so many dimensions in such a short time…?" Weiss wondered.

'Time can work differently in other worlds. Weeks would pass in one world while months would pass in another.' Palutena explained.

"Still, how did they get so powerful? We knew they've been conquering dimensions, we just didn't know how exactly." Weiss retorted.

"It's got to be the Chaos Stone and these weird aliens…" Sonic realized, stoically recalling the Masters of Evil in possession of their own Exo Stone, "There's something special 'bout them. That's why they conquered 'em."

BGM-Kid Icarus: Uprising OST-Mysterious Invaders

'Whoever these Masters of Evil are, they must be stopped. This dimension is MY flower to plunder, not theirs!' Hades proclaimed arrogantly.

'Do I have to do everything around here? Forces of Nature, drop the hammer!' Viridi commanded fiercely.

'I guess we Underworlders will get in the mix, too. Shoot anything that moves!' Hades ordered apathetically.

'Goblin! Put aside your petty grudges and work alongside the Dimensional Avengers! Destroy the Masters of Evil!' Loki directed sternly.

"On it!" Out of nowhere, New Goblin is summoned alongside the armies of Nature and the Underworld to wage war with the Masters of Evil.

"Harry!" Spidey exclaimed with surprise at their sudden teamup.

"Just hurry up and don't get in my way! Once Octavius is beaten, it's back to business between us!" Harry retorted, still with the vengeful attitude that he's struggling to suppress for the sake of the dimension's future.

"Still can't get along, I see." Pit snarks at the gods and Goblins that are fighting against this multiversal threat for their own personal reasons.

'Just do what you can, and try to stay out of the thick of things.' Palutena advised her team as they too are sent flying to join the massive multiversal battle.

Flying Badniks and Grimm link up with their mysterious alien allies against the somewhat combined divine forces of Skyworld, Nature, and the Underworld for the fate of this dimension. Already the Masters of Evil have the advantage thanks to their superior firepower, with Egg Flappers easily annihilating several Monoeyes with their cannons. Nature Troops are quick to counter with greater numbers, having Nutskis swarm and destroy a Grimm Nevermore. Quickly the massive air battle reaches a struggling stalemate until Goblin, Pit, and the Dimensional Avengers unleash their own iconic powers that pushes the invaders back for a moment as they near the floating islands.

"I've never seen anything like this!" Pit commented.

"All this are definitely new to us!" Sonic said, making it clear that these aliens are a very recent addition to the Masters' army.

'These things are tough.' Viridi remarked.

'But what are they?' Palutena wondered.

"HAHAHAHAHA!"

"Huh?!" Reacting to that unfamiliar voice that spoke up, Spidey notices a man engulfed in flames flying past him, "Where did the Human Torch come from?"

"Villains are no match for Pyrrhon!" He revealed himself.

'Pyrrhon? The sun god Pyrrhon?' The curious Palutena remarked.

"The one and only!" smiled Pyrrhon, an eccentric god who sees himself as a champion of justice.

"This wacko's the sun god?" The uncertain Pit questioned.

'Well, that's what he calls himself anyway.' Viridi snarked.

"Ah! So you're all together?! Good! Pyrrhon loves a party!" Pyrrhon said egotistically.

"Of course he has the ego to refer to himself in the third-person." Weiss sassed, visibly unimpressed by the sun god.

'Listen, do you know anything about these aliens working under the Masters of Evil?' Loki asked the godly newcomer.

"Of course! They're the Aurum, and the Masters had them conquered for a while, with THIS passel of floating islands as just one of their bases." Pyrrhon informed them.

'Just ONE of their bases?! How much more hell DO they plan to raise?' Hades wondered.

"Let me drop a little knowledge on you!" Pyrrhon retorted.

'Oh, goody.' Viridi sassed dryly.

"It's all in the Book of Divine Prophecy, chapter 84, section 3. 'Beckoned by destruction and corruption, the Aurum are born from and return to nothing. 'They travel across the galaxy to swallow up the heavens, land, and seas.'" Pyrrhon claimed expressively.

'I don't remember that passage.' Viridi commented.

"I'll break it down for you, godlings. Under the Masters' control, the Aurum are gonna eat the entire earth! But stow your fear. Pyrrhon has a delivery, and the return address is 'justice'." Pyrrhon proclaimed before flying ahead to fight baddies by himself.

"He's got some screws loose." Harry mocked the sun god.

"We can trust this man, right?" Lucina asked, feeling uncertain about him.

'Um…' Palutena responded, feeling just as uncertain and reluctant.

'You know things are dire if THAT'S the guy we're listening to! I'd rather take orders from Spider-Man.' Viridi snarked.

"Um, I'm honored?" Spidey responded unsurely.

"Fear the wrath of my pyroblasters, space weirdos! HAHAHAHAHA! Kablooey! Kablammy!" taunted Pyrrhon, wiping out countless baddies with his awesome fireblasts.

'Yes…let's let Pyrrhon take care of this. We'll take the other side of the islands!' Palutena decided.

"Good plan!" Pit complied, with heroes and Goblin flying through an opening in the island below them.

Quickly after, they arrive beneath the islands and watch in horror of large chunks of the earth being drawn upwards. "This is out of control!" Sonic commented.

'The Masters are using the Aurum to blow up the earth and then take the pieces for themselves!' Viridi proclaimed.

"If the Aurum are like bees, and the Masters are the queen bee, what are they doing with it all? Making honey?" Pit wondered.

"They'll use the dimensional honey to strengthen their forces for the next dimensional invasion, until all reality is theirs to rule." Spidey explained grimly.

'Viridi, it was you, Loki, and Hades who lured the Masters to our world.' Palutena blamed them for this disaster.

'What?! That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard!' Viridi retorted.

'Well, Octavius DID mention we attracted his forces somehow.' Loki supported his childhood friend's accusations.

'And Pyrrhon said the Aurum are "beckoned by destruction and corruption." They were likely drawn here by the war between the Underworld and nature.' Palutena added.

'Convenient how you've forgotten YOUR little tiff with the Underworld.' Viridi bickered, rightfully pointing out that the Goddess Avengers Alliance had a hand in luring their multiversal enemies.

Convenient how YOU'VE forgotten a massive Reset Bomb visible from space." Pit snarked.

'You! Zip it!' Viridi snarked back, 'The Masters of Evil are the aggressors here! We're the victims!'

'You're absolutely right. Like it or not, we're on the same side now.' Palutena stated, with the gods calling for a temporary truce to deal with the Masters Invasion. As the Avengers and Goblin reach an island with a large tower in the center, Palutena then says, 'We're heading to the center of the Aurum islands. That tower is the key to stopping all this devastation. Prepare for land battle.'

"OK!" Pit acknowledged.

"Roll out the red carpet, Ock! Here we come!" Spidey exclaimed excitedly while flying down toward their landing destination.

Aurum Island.

The Dimensional Avengers skid to a halt on the Aurum Island, as New Goblin is being extra cool by flipping off his dematerializing hoverboard and landing dramatically on the floor announcing, "We're here!"

"Where IS here? Is this…the future?" Pit glances at his confusing futuristic surroundings that give off a strange, patchwork feel.

"Not a future I ever want to live in." Lucina scowled stoically, while the heroes deactivate their flying equipment.

'The Aurum must have stolen materials from all over to build this place.' Viridi said.

'I wonder how many other planets and dimensions were harvested to make it.' Palutena wondered.

"For being patched together, everything seems pretty structured." Sonic noted.

'If the Aurum are like bees, that's no surprise. Bees are orderly colonies. Likewise, the Aurum seem to act as one. And I doubt these drones have any sense of free will.' Palutena compared.

'That must be how the Masters of Evil conquered them with little trouble. Their league is comprised of some of the strongest and smartest in the multiverse, with Doctor Doom as their supreme leader. He must have found a way for his unimaginable will to dominate over the Aurum. To be the queen bee like the angel said.' Loki briefed everyone on their multiversal enemies.

"Is Dr. Doom really that dangerous?" Pit questioned.

"Unquestionably." Spidey answered grimly, "Metalface has conquered cosmic gods that can crush entire universes with just a thought. And he's only human."

"Oh…I'm suddenly not interested in being an Avenger anymore…" Pit quipped, sweating like crazy from his newfound absolute fear of Doom.

"There's all this activity here, but no actual life. It's pretty creepy!" Weiss commented.

Pit nods, "Yeah. At this point, I'd expect a boss or something. And he'd be like, 'Muah ha ha! I've been waiting for you, Pit!'"

'Aww, poor Pit. Are you feeling lonely? Because I can call in one of my commanders to keep you company!' Viridi teased smirkingly.

Nervously, Pit chuckles, "I was just kidding. I'm fine!"

BGM-Spider-Man: Friend or Foe OST-Doc Ock Boss Battle Phase 2

"AHAHAHAHA! It looks like a pesky bug has stuck its nose where it doesn't belong. Well, a spider to be more precise…" Suddenly, the startled heroes turn around to find Doctor Octopus greeting them as a hologram.

"Doc Ock!" Spidey confronted his arch-nemesis.

"Otto?" Harry said in genuine shock, appearing to be familiar with Octavius.

"Very brave of you to face us so soon, Octopus. You're not conquering my world!" Pit fiercely taunted his new dimensional enemy.

Ock sinisterly smiles, "Oh but I will. Anything for the Exo Stone that's in your possession. I KNOW you have it. Hand it to me if you value your world's life! The endless power of dreams will be mine! With it, I will reign superior over all dimensions!"

"I'm thinkin'…No!" Spidey wisecracked, refusing to hand him the Dream Stone.

"Always so glib in every dimension, Spider-Man. I hope you enjoyed that joke, for it shall be your last." Ock threatened, coldly implying to have killed numerous Spider-Men during his conquest of the multiverse.

"Is that what you said to your barber after he gave you that haircut?! Boom! I strike again!" Spidey quipped expressively, much to the growling fury of his nemesis.

"Enough!" Ock exclaimed, "Time for you to die! Behold, my new power! Aurum Sinister Soldiers, GO!"

BGM-Sonic Unleashed OST-Opening (Battle Section)

Pit, Goblin and the Avengers stand united and imposingly to watch battalions of white, sinister humanoid robots built by Ock using the Aurum's futuristic-looking technology emerge before them. They are the Aurum Sinister Soldiers and, alongside many cannons turning towards the heroes, they aim to massacre the small resistance force once Ock gives them the eager command of, "FIREEEE!"

On his command, the cannons shoot and the heroes rush to dodge them all while combating the trigger-happy swarm of Aurum Sinister Soldiers. "Gettin' serious from the get-go, huh?" Spidey quipped. The smirking Sonic bombards the robots with Homing Attacks. The stern Weiss easily outmaneuvers a Soldier with her glyphs before slashing it to pieces. And the serious Pit equips himself with the Taurus Arm weapon and uses it to barge through the remaining battalions that immediately explode in his rampaging wake.

Ock is far from done with them as he swiftly summons one of his gargantuan Mechtopus to fight and fire at Spider-Man, who dodges it with spectacular web swinging. 'How clever!' Ock's annoyed voice is transmitted from his robot, which continues its onslaught of lasers and missiles that Spidey keeps on avoiding to also distract it from his friends' assaults. Lucina races across one of its giant legs to destroy a generator that helps power the entire machine with a single leaping slash, while Harry flies over and blows up two more generators with his pumpkin bombs. Meanwhile, Spidey swings into a corridor to escape the Mechtopus's wrath, prompting Ock to shout, 'You're not getting away!', and stretch his mech's smaller tentacles after him.

Spidey swings down the corridor before noticing the robot's incoming tentacles to grab and yank him back to it. "Yuh-oh!" He exclaimed before being grabbed, then pulled back to the menacing face of the Mechtopus. The Web Warrior struggles to free himself with his own strength, so he closes his eyes to start tapping into The Other for a little assistance.

'What the?!' Ock realizes he's up to something and tries squeezing him to death, only for deadly spines to burst from Spidey's body and blow the tentacles off in the process.

As he falls, Spidey is swiftly caught by Harry on his glider and quips, "Thanks for the pickup!"

"We're not done yet!" Harry retorted.

Rivals unite as Spider and Goblin fly toward the last generator powering the Mechtopus. It tries killing them with the full fury of its armaments only for none to keep up with their exhilarating speed. Once a small opening was spotted, Harry tosses up pumpkin bombs for Peter to web throw at the generator in an amazing fashion. 'ARGH! Your manners are as bad as ever!' Ock furiously exclaimed at his spider-foe. The massive Mechtopus begins exploding and falling apart, with many of its pieces demolishing the island and nearly crushing the heroes that are all fleeing into a room for a well-earned breather.

'WOOHOO! That was awesome! What a show!' Viridi applauded the heroes for an exceptional performance against Ock's forces.

'Amazing teamwork, everyone!' Palutena complimented them as well.

"I'll say! Up top!" Spidey offers a high five to Harry, who just scoffs and turns away as he still holds a grudge, "Just gonna leave a bro hanging? Alright."

"That was refreshing." Pit smiled, admitting that he had fun fighting those new enemies.

"After fighting gods and monsters for days, it's nice to be back fighting killer robots built by mad scientists that can't take a hint." Sonic quipped while stretching his legs.

'This is FAR from over!' Ock furiously starts communicating to the heroes through the island's loud speakers, 'You have only experienced a mere fraction of what the Aurum is capable of! Neither hero nor god will stop the destruction of this dimension!'

"Good thing we're all working together for once. All we need to do is shut down your portal." Spidey quipped with a plan to defeat the Masters of Evil.

'HA! Try your best! I assure you, it won't be enough!' Ock taunted arrogantly before ending communications for now.

BGM-Kid Icarus: Uprising OST-Aurum Island

Doctor Octopus has revealed his power and will not rest until his Aurum devours this entire dimension. To save the world, the unified heroes must head toward the island's central tower in hopes of finding a way to shut down the dimensional portal. They continue through the island, encountering various obstacles and enemies old and new like Egg Pawns and Aurum Zaurums. Wasn't long until they take an elevator, which is holding a suspicious treasure box. "That looks out of place." Spidey spotted the treasure box.

'An elevator into a torture chamber. Convenient!' Viridi joked.

'Hades, Loki, did one of you put that treasure box there?' Palutena asked the tricksters.

'Loki, maybe, but ME? I would NEVER!' quipped Hades, as Pit accidently approach the treasure box and reveal its true terrifying form as a Mimicutie.

'Don't ever accuse me for pulling lame pranks.' retorted Loki, ignoring the Mimicutie that is devastating the scared heroes with its lightning-fast kicks.

'Didn't stop you from cutting off a lock of Sif's hair. Which reminds me, how's your groin?' Palutena teased her old friend of that embarrassing incident, while the heroes are landing furious counters on the Mimicutie.

'It's fine. Thank you for the concern.' snarled Loki, just as the heroes finish off the living treasure box.

After the elevator took them down a floor, Pit, obviously, is the first to notice a nearby hot spring. "Ooh hoo hoo! A hot spring!" He exclaimed.

"What's with the obsession?" The confused Harry questioned the angel's obsession with hot springs.

"We don't know." Weiss answered deadpannedly.

Excitedly, Pit rushes toward the hot spring. Unexcitedly, the platform containing the hot spring rises out of his reach, "Where's it going?! Get back here, hot spring!"

"I gotcha!" Spidey picks up his little angel brother with no effort and gets ready to hurl him up, "Up up and away, Icarus!"

"I love you, hot spring!" Pit yelled while being thrown and diving into the hot spring at superspeed, "Ahhh. I'm feelin' the healin'."

'I hope for your sake that's a hot spring and not some other kind of…puddle.' Viridi snarked, which disturbs the angel into immediately jumping out of the pool that may or may not be alien pee.

Soon after, the gang goes through a door and spots an Exo Tank. "Hey, look! An Exo Tank!" Sonic smiled at the vehicle.

'Hey, look! Who cares?' Hades quipped.

'It doesn't make sense.' Viridi commented, wondering where the Exo Tank came from.

'I certainly didn't put it there. Loki?' Palutena turned to him.

'Nope.' Loki denied nonchalantly.

"Well, since it's here, I might as well use it!" said Pit while occupying the vehicle.

"Doubt it can keep up with my Sky Stick!" snarked Harry while hopping onto his glider.

It's time for a little racing action between Goblin and Pit on their respective high-speed vehicles. Already they're evenly matched, with the Sky Stick rider dominating the air and the Exo Tank driver ruling the land. Some enemies get in their way and were instantly dealt with. "Watch out, Pit! There's a jump up ahead." Lucina shouted at him.

'You're gon-na fa-all! You're gon-na fa-all!' Viridi teased the angel that is focused in proving her wrong.

From a good burst of speed, Pit jumps off the ramp that allows him to just barely beat Harry in their race, "Yes!" Though he does overshoot a treasure box, much to his dismay, "Nooo!"

'Nice one, Pitty!' Hades mocked him.

'There is another treasure box.' Palutena pointed out.

'All hail the goddess of obvious.' Loki joked.

And unfortunately for Sonic, the treasure box was just another Mimicutie in disguise. "No no no no no no noo!" He screamed in terror before being multi-kicked across his whole body.

'What elegance! What grace! What disturbing brutality!' Hades joked maliciously.

"No no no no no no no no!" Spidey yelled with equal terror before being sent flying from a single powerful kick by the evil treasure box with legs.

After Weiss freeze-kills the Mimicutie, the heroes press forward, finding an elevator that is taking them to a higher level. 'I placed some grind rails up ahead for you.' Palutena informed them.

"Thank you very much!" Pit smiled.

'Don't thank me yet. It didn't turn out exactly as I'd hoped. It got a little...weird.' Palutena warned.

"Not a problem! I eat "weird" for breakfast!" Pit quipped, right before arriving at the floor with the weird grind rails, "But it DOES look kind of crooked." He noticed they appear more jagged than usual.

"Eh, I've grinded on weirder." Sonic shrugged.

'Something seems to have distorted them.' Palutena noticed.

'The nerve of Ock! How dare he use the Aurum to mess with your godly powers?' Viridi realized the Aurum's influence is the reason for the crooked rails.

'Sorry about that, team.' Palutena apologized.

With the exception of Goblin preferring to ride his glider, the team hop onto the weird rails and grind over the massive floating island. There were many twists and awkward turns to floating platforms for quick detour fights with some enemies, one of which is a Baglo. The unassuming angular enemy stood dormant until Lucina attacked it, causing it into awakening a barrage of continuous fire that forces the princess into a retreat on the rails and leaving its demise to the tense combo of Spider-Man and New Goblin.

As they continue traversing through the grind rail area, Harry shoots a glance at the counterpart of his former friend. One of hesitation. He still hates Peter for his false role in his father's death, but something inside him just wants to talk to him. To have a normal conversation that doesn't involve them beating each other up. So he works up the stoic nerve to finally say, "So…"

"Hm?" Spidey reacted curiously.

"That Octavius is behind all of this. The one from your world." Harry said stoically.

"…Yeah. Is there an Ock in your world too?" Spidey asked solemnly.

"Was." Harry answered grimly, "He was my employee at Oscorp until an accident took his wife and his mind. Turned him into a criminal. He later died during a fight with my Spider-Man, drowned in a river with his fusion reactor."

'The power of the sun in the palm of his hand? Amazing. Octavius sounded like a genius with a good heart.' Palutena commented genuinely.

"And less crazy than this Ock." Harry responded.

"That's an understatement." Spidey quipped, "My Otto is so crazy that he's hellbent in conquering the entire multiverse just to steal respect."

"Well maybe you did something to him." Harry snarked.

"Stop blaming me for every tragedy! For Palutena's sake, I don't create my supervillains!" Spidey snapped.

"What about Venom?" Weiss slyly teased.

"Whose side are you on?!" Spidey retorted at both rich kids that enjoyed teasing him.

BGM-Sonic Heroes OST-Grand Metropolis

Shortly after grinding the last rails, the heroes take an elevator that descends them to a lower level closer to the island tower. 'There's a path down through that tower.' Palutena said.

"So we should just keep going down this way?" Sonic responded.

'I'm picking up high energy readings from the base of the tower. You can head there…I think.' Palutena claimed unsurely.

'Aww, sounds like someone's losing her nerve! I guess I'd better step in! Get in here, boys! It's time for some Underworld Army action!' Hades summoned a whole army of Underworld troops to swoop in and fight the Aurum. They didn't even last a second as all of them were annihilated by the overwhelmingly superior firepower. 'Well, that didn't go very well.' Hades said, feeling embarrassed from that failed plan.

'I think we should just leave this to Pit and the Avengers. And Goblin.' Viridi settled on allowing the heroes to deal with the intruders on their own.

"Oh, sure. Do you want us to pick up your dry cleaning too?" sassed Pit, reacting to her remark negatively.

'Now, now, Pit. Viridi has faith in you, and so do I. I know you can handle it!' Palutena assured him.

"I'll do my best! But only for you." Pit smiled.

"Mama's boy." Sonic fake sneezed just to tease the angel, who glances at him with an annoyed look.

'Pit certainly is devoted to you, Palutena.' Loki noticed.

'Only because she squeezes his head wreath when he doesn't follow orders.' Hades joked.

'You mean like…THIS?!' Palutena quipped with the feint that terrifies her angel.

"No no no no no! You'll squeeze my brains out!" Pit screamed while desperately trying to save himself, only to realize she was messing with him again, much to his embarrassment, "...Why do I always fall for that?"

Viridi laughs, 'Nicely done.', while her mortal allies are just as amused by her joke.

'Thank you.' Palutena responded.

'Who knew pretty Palutena possessed a sense of humor?' Hades remarked.

'I did. Barely much improvement from her previous material.' Loki snarked.

"Very funny." Pit scoffed, both sarcastically and unamused by all the teasing as the party heads down toward the tower to take the central elevator down to their destination.

Aurum Core Chamber.

Upon entering the heart of the island, the heroes encounter a large, cylindrical object known as the Aurum Core. "That looks to be the core that controls the island." New Goblin proclaimed.

"So that's what we need to destroy?" Pit questioned.

'Only one way to find out?' Hades urged them to destroy the Aurum Core.

Heroes and Goblin strike a pose and ready themselves to destroy the Aurum Core. However, they are interrupted, so suddenly by a powerful earthquake that startles them. "An earthquake!" Spider-Man exclaimed.

"But we didn't shoot anything yet!" Pit retorted.

The earthquake then increases its intensity levels that spreads throughout the island and to the point of tripping the heroes. "Whoa! This tremor is massive! Feels like the whole island will come apart!" Sonic shouted with great surprise.

'This unbelievable darkness…This overpowering aura…I can feel it all the way here at Skyworld! What could be causing it?' Palutena wondered with great worry.

'Not what. Who.' A mysterious male voice suddenly chimes into the telepathic conversation, much to the surprise of gods and mortals alike.

'What?!'

BGM-Mega Man Battle Network 4.5 OST-Theme of Bass. EXE

An ominous dark portal manifests in front of the Aurum Core just as the earthquake is subsiding thanks to its supreme controller. That controller emerges from the portal with a sinister smile on his menacing hedgehog face, flaunting dark energy in his right palm while greeting enemies, old and now, with this, "Welcome to the beginning of the end. This dimension has had it coming for far too long."

"Grimadoom!" Sonic recognized him in his new hooded tailcoat attire, much to the horror of all his allies.

"Not you again! Why do we keep meeting in every new dimension?" Spidey complained with annoyance at their repeated encounters over the summer.

"Who's he?" The clueless Pit asked.

'The self-proclaimed Supreme Lifeform. Created by the Masters of Evil using the DNA of the strongest warriors in the multiverse, whether be god or mortal. He is an abomination with the unspeakable power to destroy dimensions!' Loki sternly briefed him in how insanely dangerous this artificial hedgehog is.

"A…God of Destruction?" Pit titled his latest and most terrifying adversary to date.

"You forgot one thing. I am the man who will reign as the strongest! With my absolute power, Olympians, Asgardians, all gods in the cosmos will be overthrown!" Grimadoom announced his classic mission to become the strongest in the multiverse.

'Absurd. You could never pull that off.' Viridi snarked.

"Oh, but I can. And only me. The Son of Doom. And then true freedom will be brought to all mortals. Wouldn't that be the best, Avengers?" Grimadoom expressed with a confident demeanor.

"You call destroying worlds freedom?! You hypocrite! You're even worse than Walhart!" Lucina retorted angrily.

"Of course I am." Grimadoom admitted with shrugging grace.

Sonic just casually sighs, "You haven't changed much.", as he's so used to his clone's arrogant attitude by now. "Well whaddya waitin' for? Know the two of us still have a score to settle." He said while striking a fighting pose against his rival.

"Not yet." Grimadoom declines a fight for now, "I want you to master the Dream Stone first. Obtain the power beyond the gods. Only then we will have our ultimate battle." He suggested to his hated enemies.

'Beyond godhood? That's not possible.' Palutena believed.

"Arrogance is bliss." Grimadoom snarked, "Oh well. Enchantress?" He then turns to the malicious beauty goddess that warps into the room right on cue, "They're all yours."

"With pleasure." Enchantress smiled right as her partner warps out of the room.

'Amora?!' Palutena exclaimed in shock to be reunited with another Asgardian from her childhood adventures.

"Long time no see, Palutena. I see you patched things up with Loki but not his more alluring brother. I kept saying you never had a chance." Enchantress mocked her old rival, implying they have competed for Thor's affection in the past.

'Doesn't look like you were anymore successful, witch!' Palutena retorted with utter disdain for the beauty goddess.

BGM-Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 OST-Into the Fray

'I do not want to go through THIS again.' Loki groaned, implying to have endured their past arguing, 'Avengers! Hurry and put an end to their senseless arguing!'

"I'd like to see you brats try!" retorted Enchantress, with both herself and the heroes preparing to duke it out in the Aurum Core Chamber.

The Enchantress should not be underestimated, for she is an Asgardian master of sorcery. Rapt by her beauty and ensnared by her cunning, even the mightiest of warriors of Asgard have bended to her will. The Dimensional Avengers will be no different as she fires at them a magic beam that Weiss blocks with a glyph, which was a trick to surprise her foes with her teleporting and energy whips that smack them around the chamber.

"I hate this woman." said Spider-Man, seamlessly recovering from her attack to bounce and stick to a wall.

'How can ANY man hate that bewitching green beauty?' Hades quipped, already enamored by Amora's sinister exquisiteness.

"I can because she mind-controlled me to conquer Asgard for her once upon a time!" Spidey retorted, leaping away from her mystic bolts.

'HOW did that happen? Were you seduced?' Viridi asked in facepalming disbelief.

"Partially." Spidey quipped, landing before and engaging the goddess in hand-to-hand combat that he is winning in, "Though her antics did help him get an A on my Viking report."

"And now you'll get an F for failing to stop me!" Enchantress retorted, forcing aback the arachnid with a furious energy barrage. "The Masters of Evil will help me conquer Asgard this time!" She proclaimed her simple reason for joining the Masters, while tricking Spidey to land on a magic circle that protrudes a powerful pillar of energy that hurts him quite a lot.

'Tis a shame we're on opposite sides for once, Amora, but Asgard is MY destiny! Goblin, destroy her!' Loki ordered fiercely.

Harry complies and shows no mercy to the beautiful Enchantress by surprising her with a blitzing, spinning glider strike to the forehead that is followed up with dangerous pumpkin bombs thrown at her face. Easily, Enchantress shields herself from the bombs with magic while conjuring an energy whip to pull Osborn off his glider and throw him at an unsuspecting Lucina. She was left amused by her devious tactic until she is tripped by a slide-kicking Spidey, then uppercutted into the air by Pit's Upperdash Arm, which is followed by Weiss and her rapid-dashing midair flurry of sword thrusts. Sonic would've ended the team combo with an axe kick if Amora didn't freeze time to free herself and use telekinesis to brutally smash all four heroes onto each other before blasting them away with a single powerful beam.

"Augh. Her magic is so annoying!" Pit noted frustratingly.

"So this is what an Asgardian sorceress is capable of." Harry commented.

'As I am loathe to admit it, her magic is extraordinary. But it came at the cost of being terrible in hand-to-hand combat. Close the gap and show no mercy!' Palutena advised the team in how to defeat Enchantress.

Following her advice, Weiss uses a glyph to spring Pit toward Enchantress as he equips himself with his Tiger Claws. She was about to blast him until her eyes are webbed by Spider-Man, blinding her to a ferocious close-quarters assault from the combined forces of Pit, Sonic, Lucina, and Goblin, which impresses the gods. 'Goblin is getting an A+. Your boy Pit just gets an A for effort.' Hades complimented.

'I don't know what I'd do without him.' Palutena responded.

"Aw, that's really nice of you, Lady Palutena! You're the reason I go on fighting every day." Pit smiled, which instantly disappears as he dodges a fireball from the angrily unblinded Enchantress.

'It seems we have a little mutual-admiration society here.' Viridi snarked.

'Isn't that sweet. And by "sweet," I mean DISGUSTING!' Hades quipped.

'I wouldn't expect you two to know anything about loyalty or devotion.' Palutena retorted.

'I know sappiness when I see it.' Viridi sassed.

'Hear hear!' Hades agreed with the nature goddess.

'That's enough from the cheap seats.' Palutena snarked.

Meanwhile, Enchantress unleashes an electrical wave toward the floor where Pit stands so he may be electrocuted to death. Kid Angel jumps above the electrified floor just as Harry picks him up on his glider, leaving the distractive shooting to Pit so Enchantress could be sent flying from a spindashing Sonic. "You mortals are persistent!" Amora scowled upon her swift recovery, "A good opportunity to test a new power I obtained!", and then, with a devious smile, conjures a familiar blue cosmic stone in her hand.

"The Chaos Stone?" Weiss recognized in both shock and confusion.

"Something's not right. Doom would never give that to his underlings without a very good reason." Spidey sensed something suspicious about her Chaos Stone.

Regardless, Enchantress empowers herself with its enticing chaos energy, enveloping her whole being in a cosmic blue aura that she can't stop smiling at. "Chaos Magic is now mine to command! Fall into despair by its awakened fury!" She laughed expressively.

By Amora's malicious command, the fabric of reality is torn open and unleashing chaos in multiple varieties. Wind blades are projected, overpowering Lucina's defenses and blowing her away. Ice spreads along the floor Sonic is running on, freezing him solid cold. Ghostly creatures of her malevolent design surround Pit, keeping him busy with their relentless attacks. Weiss makes a beeline for the evil goddess, and as she nears her for an attack, a powerful lightning bolt from above slams her down before she could.

'Show her our power, Goblin!' ordered Loki, as Harry flies toward the enemy.

'Mine too, Spider-Man!' commanded Palutena, while Peter swings at their mutual foe.

Only through teamwork and god power can the two rivals beat Enchantress now. With Holy Web Shots, Spidey forces her to put up a barrier that doesn't protect her from a front handspring kick that knocks her into the air. With the Army of Hades, Goblin swarms her with countless souls that she can barely fend off before smashing her onto the Aurum Core where Spidey webs her to.

Struggling to free herself, the furious Amora grunts, "This won't stop me! I have MUCH more power than this!" She taps more into her Chaos Stone in a bid to save herself. But just when she's about to, her entire chaos power just evaporates alongside her Stone disintegrating, much to Spidey's curiosity and her own surprise, "What?! Curses! The Prototype burned out faster than I thought!"

"Sucks to be you!" Weiss exclaimed, standing alongside Lucina to finish off the goddess with a little mortal girl power. Lucina electrifies her sword to fire a thunderous energy wave, which then fuses with Weiss's ice blast to form one devastating combo attack that not just smashes Amora into defeat, but also destroys the Aurum Core.

BGM End

"Pulverized!" Pit cheered at their simultaneous victory over Enchantress and the Aurum Core.

'Let's see what happens!' Hades announced.

What happens next is that the Aurum Core explodes so violently that the Aurum Islands begin falling out of the sky from the outrageous shockwave it unleashed. It would've annihilated the heroes as well if Pyrrhon didn't come to their rescue at the last second and flew them out, carrying Pit and Spidey under his arms while the others are safe in his floating fire bubble.

"You all right there, citizens?" Pyrrhon asked them.

"A-OK!" Pit expressed with a thumbs-up.

"Where's Enchantress?" Spidey looks around for her.

'Falling to embarrassment.' quipped Palutena, with everyone spotting Amora falling alongside the islands before teleporting away in a furious huff. 'Thanks for your help, Pyrrhon. Avengers, let's regroup.' She said to them.

'Goblin, return.' Loki ordered.

Both gods extract their respective warriors from the sky, leaving Pyrrhon to monologue, "Pyrrhon senses danger.", while he turns and looks onward at an ominous fleet of incoming Masters of Evil ships, many including Aurum Battleships. "And now…Pyrrhon sees it." He said before teleporting away himself.

BGM-Kid Icarus: Uprising OST-Solo Menu

KFX Here: The Aurum Arc has certainly started with a bang. Enemies and rivals are teaming up to save the dimension from the Masters of Evil. This won't be a long arc. Including this chapter, it's only 3 chapters long just like in the original game. As I said before, Metal Sonic and Mecha Spider-Man will not have a role like in the original story because they already had their fun in Transdimensional Racing RX.

XenoSlayer983: Don't worry, I'm a big fan of the Raimi Spider-Man films, so I'm familiar with the Osborns' more sympathetic personalities.
