Hi guys I decided to first finish this series and then move on to someone else. Hope you like this one though.

Season 3

Do people in comas dream? Unfortunately Miguel can speak from experience. And yes, they do dream. At first it was the nightmares. Miguel got stuck seeing and replaying again and again him falling off the second floor. Miguel swore he could see his lifeless body placed on the stairs, even though by that time he should have lost consciousness. Miguel got drowned in the screams of someone and all the faces he managed to see before he hit the railing. Then, all of a sudden it stopped. His nightmare was replaced with another dream. He was back in the All Valley, defending his title in the finals. Some random kid Miguel had never seen was fighting him. The referee blowed the whistle and the guy started... changing faces? Okay that was definitely weird but Miguel didn't get distracted. He seemed to recognize those faces even though Miguel didn't know who they were at first sight. That was... Robby... and Sam... and Tory... and his... sensei? He recognized them but he didn't remember. Miguel tried to focus on the fight, and the guy was really good. He seemed to know exactly what he was going to do, and the perfect move to counter it. Miguel was starting to hear voices that he recognized as well. His mom and his grandma. Something about... the dodgers? Those voices encouraged him, and gave him power. Miguel scored a point but the guy scored a point too. Miguel realized he wasn't feeling anything. The punches, the kicks, they didn't affect him, except that if they landed his opponent would score a point. He found himself losing and overpowered. The fight seemed to go on for hours but Miguel wasn't tired. He didn't feel anything. It was 1-2 and Miguel was losing. He heard a voice. That was his... sensei. This voice he heard clearly. Sensei encouraged him. To keep fighting. This gave Miguel power. He was right. Miguel couldn't give up. He found newfound strength that was coursing through his veins and scored the point that made it 2-2. Miguel overpowered the guy and details seemed to come back to him. Memories. Each memory pushed him to do better, to fight better. He had the guy where he wanted and he kicked him in the face, and as he was falling, his senses got activated. He felt the hospital gown surrounding his body, the touch of the bed against his skin and his breath. And as the referee declared the winner he remembered. He remembered who he was. He was Miguel Diaz, winner of the All Valley, and he wasn't about to die. And with that, he woke up

You think having a close brush with death, coming to terms with your own mortality etc etc would give you a fear of going back to the world again. The truth is, all Miguel wanted to do was get up and do something, anything. But no, he was stuck in a hospital bed with a bunch of machinery that made him look like a cyborg. Your feelings after a coma would be fear of dying blah blah blah, and then? You get bored to death. The only thing mildly entertaining is when a visitor comes by, like his mom, or when Miguel finally reaches the tv remote to see the dodgers playing the play-offs, which mind you, it was pretty hard. Because the freaking nurse just had to put the remote on the other side of the table. One thing he wanted to do was see his sensei and confront him. He didn't know what he was going to say, but he knew he had to see him. But he didn't come by which made Miguel a bit angry. Wasn't he worried about him? Miguel was no fool. He knew that the injuries were very serious. In fact, he was pretty sure the doctor had told his mom that he may never walk again. And Miguel was mad. He showed mercy and this happened to him. He didn't even feel like eating anymore. One day, his sensei visited him. He started trying to make some small talk but Miguel got straight to the point. He told him he may never walk again. He showed mercy and this happened to him. He wanted answers. Why did this happen to him? But sensei wouldn't look at him. He just said he didn't know. All that bottled up anger, hurt and fear Miguel had hidden deep down came out to show in his words. He trusted him. Look where that got him. Miguel told him to leave, shouted at him to leave and even begged him. Reluctantly, his sensei walked out the door leaving Miguel alone with his tears.

Miguel didn't have many visitors. Only his mom and grandma. So he was pretty surprised when Sam LaRusso entered the room. Sam and Miguel had left on quite weird terms. Kissing and then the brawl in west valley. Miguel would be lying if he said he hadn't thought about her, but he didn't know what he actually would do when he encountered her. But Sam seemed much more nervous than Miguel and tried to force small talk. Miguel explained that he was going to have a surgery on Friday with a guy that supposedly worked miracles. Miguel didn't really believe it but it was worth a shot. Sam seemed excited for it but Miguel noted that it was very expensive and his mom would be on debt. Miguel noticed something in Sam's arm. It was a... scar. Sam caught him looking and explained that Tory did that. Immediately, Miguel felt guilty and apologized but Sam dismissed it, saying it wasn't his fault. But deep down Miguel thought otherwise. Tory and Robby may have delivered the blow, but Miguel was the one that set it up by kissing Sam. All those thoughts went away when Sam gave him a card. It said "You octopi my thoughts" with an octopus and a heart. An octopus, the same stuffed animal Miguel got Sam on their first date. Miguel kind of wanted to kiss Sam but he was stuck in a bed with non-functioning legs so he couldn't. She started to apologize for everything, even though Miguel didn't think it was her fault. But then they got interrupted by Hawk. Of course. Miguel wanted to talk to Sam more, explain himself, but his tongue betrayed him, and he just let Sam walk out the door.

After the surgery, Miguel saw some posts of Hawk and was quite disgusted. He had changed a lot, too much. He was practically a bully now. And with John Kreese in charge, he got even worse. But at this point, Miguel didn't care. He was just worried about never walking again. The nurse tried to soothe his nerves but it wasn't working. He was downcast all day when later on, while he was trying to reach his phone, a surprise visitor came in. His sensei. He saw what he was trying to do and asked if he needed help. Reluctantly, Miguel accepted the offer, but of course, his sensei just pushed the table even further. Miguel didn't have the energy to deal with him, but before he could say anything, his sensei quieted him. Did this speech about how he was a man, and if he wanted something done, he should do it himself. Miguel missed this. He now felt motivated. He started getting out of bed with only his arms. He reached out and... fell. At least he fell like a champ.

Miguel finally got out of that hospital. He was in a wheelchair but still. He got an instructor that should help him with his recovery but Miguel didn't feel like it was working at all. After he was gone his sensei tried to help his recovery by waving out of reach a magazine of all the hot babes in 1988 with a rod. Miguel was starting to think he may be a bad influence. But he played along. He used his hands to reach out to the magazine... and he fell. Again. His sensei helped him and encouraged him but Miguel was really losing hope. His sensei started talking about a tale. About some lazy farmers that when a drought came they just laid back and waited for rain. And some wise man lit a fire under them, which is where the term comes from. The man's name was Hibachi. Of course. Miguel called that that Hibachi is from Japan and that historically China didn't have many farmers or hammocks. But his sensei said that was the point and it distracted him what he really did. Which was light a fire under Miguel. Literally. Sensei grabbed Miguel's arm and locked him so he couldn't move them. He had to move his leg to extinguish the fire. But he couldn't. It went to his leg, and his sensei quickly grabbed a fire extinguisher. Miguel was frustrated. Not to his sensei but to the fact that he didn't feel a thing. Why was nothing working? Miguel was frustrated and just left. Later on, sensei brought him to some shady place. Miguel wondered what crazy method he had under his sleeve. They passed some guy that didn't let them in because Miguel wasn't 21, so Miguel had to play along with sensei about him dying soon. The guy let them in and Miguel saw the coolest band ever inside. It was a concert. A rock concert. Of Dee Snider. It was the coolest thing ever. He didn't understand how this would help him with his recovery, but his sensei said that it was just to have fun. So Miguel had fun. He drank beer. Did cool photos with sensei. He even got mentioned by Dee Snider as a make-a-wish kid. Miguel wasn't about to correct him. Dee Snider started to sing a song that absolutely rocked and Miguel swayed to the rhythm of the music. Then his sensei got his attention and pointed to something on his foot. Now Miguel doesn't know the science behind it and truthfully, he didn't care. It was his foot. It was moving. Tapping at the rhythm of the music. Miguel couldn't believe it. He was incredulous. He noticed he could feel his foot. Miguel wanted to cry out of joy. But he settled for a cry to the sky. Later on he showed his mom and she was absolutely delighted. Miguel could move his foot at command. Small movements but still. Miguel for once, had hope

Miguel looked like a baby. His mom had bought him a harness that could lift him so he could practice standing up, which for now, was a total failure. His sensei was helping him but it wasn't working. He looked like a giant baby. His feet might be touching the floor but it wasn't like they were contributing in standing up. He wanted to do a more badass training or something that didn't make him look like an infant but his sensei told him he wasn't ready. Now coming from the guy that set his foot on fire, Miguel didn't know wether to take it seriously or not. Every time sensei let go of the rope that was attached to the harness Miguel would fall like a cheap sack of potatoes. Later on, Miguel saw that sensei was writing a message to someone. It was Ali. The Ali. It was huge because Ali was an old ex-girlfriend in high school. Sensei had told Miguel all about it. This got Miguel excited for his sensei. But immediately, he knew he just had to change things. Sensei had liked all her photos. How creepy is that? Miguel just had to make a good Facebook profile for him. He checked all the photos he had, which was all in his twenties and without a shirt. Maybe it was a good idea to just make some new photos. But sensei took the suggestion badly and just said to do photos with what Ali was into. That was even creepier. In the end, Miguel just decided to go with it. In the streets they did a photo shoot with books, art work and popular food that Ali might be into. When sensei excused to go to the bathroom in the restaurant, Miguel got another surprise. Tory. When Tory recognized Miguel, she sat down and started talking with him. She started apologizing, how she would have visited but she didn't know how to help. So she did nothing. She felt guilty about it and how she was going to get back at Miyagi-Do. There was the attitude Miguel didn't like. Miguel told her he didn't care about that, he just cared about them. And it was true. Miguel just tolerated Cobra Kai and their behavior thanks to Tory. And maybe his sensei. He didn't mention that. Tory questioned Miguel with caring about them. How she had no choice when she saw Sam and Miguel. But she did have a choice, Miguel told her that and that even if her mom was sick and she was struggling she needed help. But Tory thought Miguel was saying she was crazy. She got irritated and just said goodbye and left. Later on, after explaining what happened to his sensei, he went back to his recovery training. Miguel was sour and he didn't even try to stand up. Sensei was holding him by the rope and he noticed he's mood. He said it was just an ex, no big deal. And Miguel got mad at that. He told him that they've been doing bullshit for his ex. Making sensei into something he wasn't. At least when Miguel saw his ex he told her how things really were. At his reaction, his sensei asked if he was done having a fit or was he just giving up. At this, Miguel exploded. He was the one giving up? He told him so. He was the one giving up. Sensei tried to talk but for once, Miguel was the one that quieted him down. He was on a roll. He let Kreese take his dojo. He let Tory and the others think he's weak. His sensei responded by saying what happened was a mistake in the first place. But Miguel told him what really happened. He helped a bunch of people and walked away, like a pussy. He was a sensei. That's who he was. If he couldn't see that, he was blind. Suddenly, his sensei stopped in his tracks. He looked at the floor and called Miguel's attention. Miguel was furious with him, but he looked down. And that's when he realized. His sensei had let go of the rope. He was standing. On his own. All that fury vanished into thin air and gratefulness came in. He hugged his sensei and thanked him. He dismissed it, and thanked Miguel instead. And Miguel felt safe in his sensei's arms.

Miguel had intensified his training. He was now on crutches practicing obstacles each day. Day by day he was getting better: He could do sit-ups with a lot of weight, he could move the table with only he's legs and one day he dropped his crutches and was able to walk normally doing the obstacle course. That same day he threw the crutches and the wheelchair to the trash with his sensei. And it felt good. Later on, he and his sensei thought about Mamés that they could use for the new dojo his sensei was going to open. They just couldn't find one that was badass. In the end , they decided that Miguel would recruit, and sensei would worry about where they would do it. Miguel would recruit in the school. Miguel was actually a bit nervous to go to school. It felt like a lifetime since he had gone to school. There were also some bad memories. He thought about this as his mom drove him to school. He willed those thoughts away as he entered the school. The security had improved. Guards checked for weapons or anything mildly dangerous. There was even a metal detector and everything. People started to recognize him, and they all started clapping with the banner of welcome back Miguel. Random people fist bumped him and asked for a high five and Miguel obliged. He got greeted by Hawk. He wanted to talk about leaving Cobra Kai but decided to leave that for lunch. He greeted Demetri there too. He had a cast. Even though Miguel had a horrible suspicion, he still asked how he got that cast. And he told him everything. How Cobra Kai acted. How Hawk broke his arm. Miguel was disgusted and furious at this. He confronted Hawk. Also mentioned that he could join the new dojo sensei was creating. Before Hawk responded, Kyler spoke up, showing the cast Demetri has with a huge dick on it. Miguel looked at Hawk and asked, these are your friends? And just left. Later on, his sensei came in to see him at school. Miguel wasn't surprised that he got past security. Apparently he got a good spot to train, and when he asked about the recruitment, Miguel informed him that everyone in Cobra Kai were assholes and wouldn't join. So sensei tried to convince them himself. Did some speech about how he was sorry. Then he said all about he was the one that created them, not Kreese. How Kreese didn't care about them. And left them with an invitation at 16:00 in a park. Later on, Miguel and some others went to the park. Sensei announced the name, which was Eagle fang karate which was pretty badass. While he was talking some visitors came. Hawk and some others. At first it looked like they were there to join, but soon Tory and Kyler showed up too and Miguel knew something was up. Sure enough, Kreese appeared behind the bushes. He warned sensei, that he was going to win, and that he cared about his student and wouldn't make the mistake of showing mercy and ending up in a coma. At this, Miguel stepped up and so did Hawk. Kreese stopped Hawk. Kreese gave one last offer to sensei about rejoining Cobra Kai. He rejected it. Kreese warned him again, and left.

The next day school was even more awkward. Miguel found Cobra Kais and just decided to awkwardly ignore them and the bumped into Sam, making things much more awkward. They tried to force small talk until Sam said that he'll let him get back to his friends pointing at the Cobra Kais. Miguel had to explain they weren't friends anymore. Sam looked excited about it. They decided to walk to study hall together and also decided to start over and be friends. That got a bit ruined when they saw Demetri kissing Yasmine, who was basically the school queen. This day was very awkward. Later on, he trained in eagle fang and there was training drill that required to spin kick. Miguel tried to do it but it ended in barely a kick. His sensei moved on but Miguel convinced him that he could do it. He tried again but fell pretty hard. Everyone surrounded him to check he was okay. Miguel got pretty mad because everyone was just treating him like a big baby. He shouted at them that he was fine. It was almost funny how everyone got away so quickly. His sensei told him that it was okay not to do the same things he could do before. That nobody expected that from him. Suddenly, one of Miguel's classmate shouted out that the All Valley was canceled. What? Later on Miguel told sensei that he should convince the committee to unban the All Valley. Sensei said this was a blessing in disguise because Miguel was going to participate anyway. Miguel got furious at this. He didn't think Miguel could do it. Sensei said that he almost got hurt with one kick and what was going to happen in a real fight. But Miguel didn't care. It all just reinforced that he didn't believe in him. He needed to prove again that he could win. Sensei was supposed to be on his side. He went home mad. He thought all day about it and okay, maybe he was a bit harsh, but he was too proud to admit it. He also knew he had to go to court and convince the committee about the cancellation of the All Valley. He arrived just in time, the court was declaring that the karate tournament should be cancelled when Miguel called out. Pretty cool to do it, like he was in a movie. Well his life was practically a movie. He shook those thoughts away. A lot of people were asking who he was so he introduced himself. Said he was the one that fell off the second floor. How he relearned to stand and walk. The court said that they were delighted about his recovery but that he didn't understand. This time, Sam spoke up. Miguel hadn't noticed she was there. She walked over to stand with Miguel. She said that they were the ones fighting, getting hurt so their voice should matter the most. With that Miguel continued. That he was bullied. That they did all sorts of things to him. Instead of pretending bullying didn't exist or could just be erased kids should be prepared to defend themselves. Sam added that physically and mentally, because sometimes the scars you can't see are the ones that hurt the most. This made Miguel wonder what she went through. But he continued. Karate was about confidence, discipline, inner strength. Karate are lessons that you can use for the rest of your life. He didn't know where he would be or who he would be, without his sensei. They didn't need this tournament to do cool kicks or sell tickets. They need it to show the bullies of the world that they were not afraid. It's called the All Valley because it's for everyone. To show everyone what they can do. To fight, to become a champion. And they deserved that chance. With that there was silence. Councilperson Roberts spoke up. And the All Valley was back on. Miguel hugged Sam in euphoria. They did it. At night, Miguel hung out with Sam at Miyagi-Do. It was a pretty cool place but Miguel didn't see how they could do karate there. And he told Sam. Sam got another comment back. Miguel liked this. Just playfully fighting with words that they both knew wasn't true. Miguel challenged Sam to a fight. Somehow, they ended up in a quite awkward position. Miguel could easily kiss her and he thought about it. He looked at her lips. He could just lean in and... someone spoke up. It was Robby. Sam and Miguel quickly got away from each other. Robby was mad. Sam tried to explain but Robby just asked if they were together the second he was gone or just waited a week to make it look good. Miguel really wanted to punch him at this but he held back. He could also make a snarky comment, but he decided against it Sam tried to explain but Robby shut her down saying she didn't even care. Miguel butted in but Robby told him to stay out of this. But Miguel didn't think he would. And he said exactly that. Robby was about to punch him but Sam protected Miguel and pushed Robby, telling him to go away. And he did.

The next day Miguel went back to Miyagi-Do with Sam. He tried to learn more about Miyagi-Do. It was clear that his sensei and Sam's dad butted heads in styles. Miguel asked about some Okinawan drum. Sam taught him how to use it. Miguel decided to do a technique of his own which got them dropped to the floor Miguel on top of her. An awkward position. Again. But Miguel may have done that on purpose. They looked at each other for a second and then Sam just grabbed Miguel's shirt and kissed him. And God it felt good. But Sam's dad must have felt awkward when he walked in on that. Mr LaRusso just asked to talk to Sam and Miguel awkwardly left and poked around things. After a while, Mr LaRusso caught Miguel poking around in the parking lot with cars with tarps over them. He said that it was a beaut. Miguel awkwardly explained that he didn't usually see cars like this, which was why he was interested. He started saying that when he got this car from Mr Miyagi he was the envy of all The Valley. He also explained he was from Reseda. Miguel didn't know that. He also said that sensei went to a beach club. Miguel didn't know he was a rich kid. When he said this, Mr LaRusso asked if he had said anything about high school so Miguel explained that his sensei talked about how he beat sensei with an illegal kick. Miguel didn't mean any disrespect. Luckily, Mr LaRusso just calmly explained the rules. When he asked what else sensei told him Miguel explained everything about the fights and Ali. Mr LaRusso had a different point of view. In which sensei was practically the aggressor in all of them. But Miguel still thought that he was telling the truth. But in the end sensei was just young. That's all. That talk confirmed that Mr LaRusso and sensei Lawrence we're not about to get along. Mr LaRusso got a call and said goodbye to Sam and did a handshake with Miguel. That was good right? Miguel was a bit nervous about the relationship between himself and Mr LaRusso. After all, he was dating his daughter. He shook those thoughts away and said to Sam sensei Lawrence and Mr LaRusso wouldn't get along. But Sam had an idea. If the adults weren't going to get along, then the kids might. If they could convince the kids in Eagle fang and Miyagi-Do to get along maybe the adults would go with them. Miguel wasn't sure about this. It's not like all of the kids were going to get along. But they had no other choice. So he agreed. Later on, Miguel and the Eagle fangs arrived at Sam's house. Both Sam and Miguel have tricked their dojos so they would come. Of course when the Eagle fangs and the Miyagi-Dos met, they just started insulting each other. But Sam started saying how this rivalry should stop, one way or another. And she was right

Miguel wanted to give up. These guys weren't budging. Sam said that Miyagi-Do and Eagle fang had to unite but they didn't like the idea. Some started standing up but it was Demetri that spoke up. How Cobra Kai were assholes. How they should work together. And repeated a lot the word assholes. Miguel was pretty impressed by Demetri. He was usually very quiet. And it got those guys back on their seats. They started setting rules, like they would train at Miyagi-Do. Well rule. They only came up with that. Nobody was really putting that much effort though. Bert, a kid in Eagle fang even went to pet Sam's cat outside. Wait a minute. Sam didn't have a cat did she? Miguel asked and she responded no. For a second Miguel thought, it may just be a stray cat. But of course. Guess what. It wasn't. Bert got thrown into the window inside the house. Everyone rushed to see if he was okay. He just said no cat. No shit. Suddenly Cobra Kais started to come in. Hawk and some others. Kyler. Miguel got deja vû at seeing Kyler. Remembering how he used to bully Miguel. Why was Miguel thinking about that now? Tory and some others went through the front door. They were surrounded. Miguel tried to reason with Tory but it was no use. She shouted no mercy and it began. It wasn't at all like the school fight. Miguel was only focused on Robby before. Now it seemed everyone was attacking him, knowing he was hurt, and Miguel had to switch opponents every two seconds. Kyler was the one that followed Miguel. He was only focused on Miguel. Miguel guessed his face might still hurt after he hit him with that tray. The worst thing was that Kyler was winning. Miguel could barely kick anymore and Kyler just easily grabbed his foot and slammed him into a table, which was not fun. That's when he realized. Miguel was very afraid. He could barely kick. He was getting beaten up but worst of all, this guy had him traumatized. He kept thinking about all those times he was bullied by him and not only did it distract him, but it also made him weaker. Slowly losing a fight against fear. His senses on overdrive, he saw that the only ones with any success on their fights was Sam and Demetri. But Demetri was having a hard time getting back up, and Sam was now running away with pure fear in her eyes from Tory. Miguel wanted so bad to go and help her but he couldn't. Kyler wouldn't let him. He punched his gut again and again and again. Kyler was ruthless. But he was also arrogant. He mocked Miguel. Let him go and encouraged him to hit him. Miguel let hate take control but that was still not enough. Kyler dropped him to the ground. He wanted more. He started kicking him, demanding him to get up. But Miguel couldn't. He couldn't. Kyler grabbed him and pinned him to the wall and started hitting his back again and again. Miguel's face was covered was covered with blood. But Miguel's vision tunneled. He saw Demetri and Hawk together, forming an alliance. For some reason, that made him remember sensei's words. When Miguel was in a coma. Never give up, he said, you can do this. I know you can. Suddenly, Kyler's punches didn't hurt. Miguel found the strength to fight back. He pushed Kyler away, blocked his punch and threw a punch of his own. Kyler blocked it and used it to flip Miguel. But Miguel's legs found power. Strength. Like he had never been injured. Like he had never risked not walking again. He landed perfectly, and threw a kick in the face, and then the gut which sent Kyler flying. A powerful kick, like it should be. Then when Kyler stood up, Miguel did a judo flip on his own and had Kyler on the floor. Miguel punched his face pretty hard, and left him knocked out. Miguel had won. He thanked Kyler for the motivation and rushed off to find Sam. There priorities, plus thanks to Hawk the others had won. Hawk, Demetri and Miguel found Sam, who had won against Tory, pinning her to the wall with a very large stick. The fight was over, and Tory left, warning both Miguel and Hawk. After the fight, everyone was trying to clean up, when Mr LaRusso arrived. When Miguel and Sam explained what happened, he was furious. Before anyone could stop him, he left with his car. Sam and Miguel rushed to get to Cobra Kai. When they got there, it was just in time. Mr LaRusso was getting prepared to strike a bloody Kreese. Mr LaRusso looked ready to kill. Miguel made a mental note to not to piss off Mr LaRusso. When Mr LaRusso spotted them, he stopped. Kreese started talking about settling this on the tournament, Miguel had heard. Miguel got to his sensei's side, apparently his sensei had been there too, and Sam got to his dad's side. Robby appeared and took Kreese's side. So he had joined Cobra Kai. Robby told them to get out. And so they did. The next day, Miguel and Sam told them all about the plan to merge Miyagi-Do and Eagle fang. Surprisingly they agreed, and that same day, at Miyagi-Do, a new era had begun.

That's all. Don't forget to like or comment!
