Lowkey connected to Criminal Love, prior to its occurrences.
A bank was surrounded by police cars and a helicopter, which levitated above the building with a light directed at the entrance of the building, where two criminals were being led out by a small group of police agents, which had managed to surround them from keeping up with their theft.
From the blockade caused by the police vehicles, a dark-skinned woman had received a notification from another officer, then listened to the call, before she would give an answer.
„How bad is the injury?" Questioned Justine.
„Just simple shot wounds on a few of our guys. Officer Goddard, Wainwright, Furtado, and Hunter,"
„Good, there are at least three ambulances around ready to check on them. Let team Gamma reach the transporter first,"
„Copy that," Responded the woman from the walkie-talkie.
After a while, Justine Keaton had observed the criminals being put inside the transporter, then she grabbed her walkie-walkie to report the delivery of the perpetrators.
„They're clear, move out to ambulance A and B," Announced Justine looking at the exit to spot an elder police agent walk out of the building, then observed the group walk out, then were directed towards the left side, where the police had moved away one of the patrol cars, so the crew could pass easily to approach the ambulances. The quartet consisted of three men and one woman, all from the basic ranking. The team watched from both ambulances a paramedic step out to watch the injured officers come their way. The light-brunette man along with the blonde police woman made their way towards a tall raven-haired woman, which smiled politely at the duo and extended her arms to welcome her at the transporter.
„Get in. I'm here to help," Offered the paramedic with the name Morgana, then held her hand out to help officer Blair Wainwright up the vehicle.
At the other vehicle, Eugene Hunter was the first police officer to enter the ambulance and Jake Furtado stood on the outside watching the blonde, which had already prepared herself for the wound healing of the first officer, that arrived.
„You don't need to stay on the outside, you can take the seat there," Offered the blonde paramedic earning the redhead's attention, which got up into the transporter to take a seat at the place the nurse had suggested.
„Another bullet in your shoulder I see," The blonde nurse spoke making the brunette agent nod.
„Yes. I think it's the third one in my career. I've been quite lucky," Commented Eugene watching the blonde begin to clean the wound with a small piece of clothing.
„I'm sure your family is glad, that you're still around after such a scene," Commented Jamie. „You put your lives every day in danger and you might not know, that you might be living there your last day,"
„We all do know that, but we all know, that all places need their own police. I wanted to become one to help out the people in need. Six years have passed and I have never regretted it,"
„This is how I feel about my job, except we're more of saving lives," Corrected Jamie. „Has the police station here got any new recruits? I feel like I don't recognize a couple of them,"
„There are a few, yes. Jake, back there is one of them. He's the new partner of Goodwin Goode, who used to be partnered up with Lars Larson before his retirement," Eugene said, afterward, Jamie put around Eugene's arm a bandage, then fixed it with a small clip and moved to the redhead to see, he was harmed on the arm as well.
„I'm Jamie, by the way," The blonde introduced. „We sure going to see each other a lot in the future. It's quite surprising to see how much you're called out on a case when you get into the job," Jamie mentioned dabbing a liquid on a piece of cloth. „I think Eugene's wife was expecting her first child when I met him. His partner got a graze on her arm and he waited there for her until I took care of her and so I got to know him,"
„You've been as long as him working here as a paramedic or longer?"
„Perhaps a year longer before I met Eugene. I jumped a class up back in elementary school, so I got earlier into medical school. You're not from here, right?"
„I'm residing at Twinbrook at the moment. I made my formation back in Canada before I got relocated here,"
„So you're Canadian then?" Questioned Jamie making Jake nod. „Wow I barely notice any dialect…..well I'm not American. The dialects sure can be distinguished somehow, but I'm not able to figure it out,"
„I think it's a slight bit different. Hard notable," Replied the redhead.
Jamie picked up the bandage roll and wrapped it around his arm, then ripped it off by the perforated line, then held it with the one arm, she held the bandage and obtained from the first aid case another clip to fasten it.
„Done," Responded Jamie getting up to watch the Canadian get up and look at his wrapped-up arm.
„Thank you," The redhead said making the blonde smile and left along with Eugene, which waved back at the blonde.
„She's sweet, isn't she?" Questioned Eugene making Jake nod. „Okay, I don't know well enough. Just from the work and that's she's incredibly smart. That's all," Commented the man making Jake laugh.
„Okay, that's interesting,"
„You know how life is for people like us. The time for meeting others is lower than usual. I'm glad at least I have my family with me,"
„I had my younger brother, but we both haven't seen each other for a few years. We went offroad to study juristics," Mentioned Jake heading along with Eugene toward their head chief.
About a week later, Jake sat inside a small police patrol transporter along with two other police agents driving the road near the hills of the rich people making their way to downtown.
„Hey guys, let's have dinner at Hogan's. I pay," Offered Goodwin, the blonde policeman, that sat on the co-driver seat next to Hank, who was driving.
„Why you?" Questioned Eugene. „You did it last time,"
„I know, but I don't mind it doing it again," Commented the blonde making Eugene shake his head.
„Goodwin, come on. Let us all pay for our own. If you want you can pay for the drinks or anything else if you'd like. I don't want to accept again a full menu pay," Hank commented making Jake nod.
„Hogan's not that expensive. We can afford it," Added Goodwin.
„We know, but still you're throwing 50 Simoleons away. We all are gaining money for something as well," Jake said earning a nod from Eugene.
„If you guys all have another idea, we can always discuss it in there. I don't even know, what today's menus are," Hank said turning at the crossroad to spot a large Margaret car driving out at the road to make the way out of there and Hank glimpsed at the driver hoping to recognize the driver. Hank shrugged his shoulders, then moved the transporter into the now free parking spot.
„You knew the driver?" Asked Goodwin watching Hank shake his head.
„Some dude with gelled-up hair and a long beard. Never seen him around," Answered Hank. „I thought it was the businessman from the Alto clan,"
„I don't think the Altos are the kind of people to enter into…..this kind of establishment," Goodwin commented earning a nod from Hank, then the quartet got out of the car and reunited each other on the co-driver seat by Goodwin Goode.
„Okay, let's get in," Offered Goodwin opening the door to enter along with the men, then glimpsed around the place to see it was almost full and they spotted the only free places were at the corner of the diner. Goodwin walked along with the men to the corner and sat down on the table, that was meant for four people. The middle of the table had a few caddies filled with cutlery and a box with coffee utensils, such as sugar and cream. As well there stood a cube, that contained the menu of the diner.
„Guys, I think I'm going to pick Fish and Chips," Hank said upon taking a glimpse from the menu, while Eugene squinted his eyes approaching his face at the cube to read it.
„I think I will go with cheesesteak," Mentioned Eugene watching Jake along with Goodwin gaze at the menu.
A tall man, with short brown hair, stopped by the table with a note block and a pen to greet the available police agents.
„Good evening, I'm Christopher. I'm one of the three responsible servants tonight. Have you already an order in mind?" Questioned the brunette man seeing the two brunette man nod.
„I'd like to have cheesesteak and my friend over there wanted Fish and Chips," Mentioned Eugene making Hank nod, while Christopher noticed it down. He looked at the other two men, which were looking at the menu and had eye contact with the blue-eyed man.
„I'd like to have egg rolls," Asked Goodwin making Christopher nod, then look at the redhead.
„I'm going with grilled cheese," Added Jake making Christopher nod.
„What about the drinks? We've got the new Hogan's red cherry flavored syrup. 1 to 10 mixed with mineral water,"
„That sounds interesting," Commented Goodwin watching Christopher write it down.
„I think I'm taking it too. I haven't really thought about, what to drink," Commented Eugene watching Hank and Jake agree.
„So I can make four?" Questioned Christopher watching all nod. „Good, thank you. Your order will be up in a moment," The man announced leaving the cops back at the table, which adjusted for themselves the cutlery.
„I was meant to take a mineral only, but his offer sounds quite delicious," Commented Hank making the group nod.
„I'm not into sweet drinks, but I'm giving it a try. Might be different, than the ones in the shops," Stated Jake making Hank nod.
Christopher returned with a small plate with the four drinks and handed them out at the group, then made his way across the dinner spotting by the entrance the door getting opened up to see three paramedics enter the place and Christopher gazed at the trio, then welcomed them. Hank moved his head up to see Christopher direct the trio to head to their corner and Hank smiled as he had recognized one of the paramedics.
„Hey Jamie is here too," Mentioned Hank followed by Eugene lifting his head up to see her and Hank waved at the friend. Jake and Goodwin looked behind them to see the paramedics come in their direction.
„Hey Hank, Eugene, good to see you again," Jamie greeted the group and got behind to sit with her back against Goodwin and Jake. „How's the week going?" Questioned the blonde watching Hank give her a thumb up.
„Is Sofia here too?" Questioned Goodwin looking back at the trio to see Jamie shake her head, then she recognized the redhead she healed a week ago.
„You're here too!" Commented Jamie earning the attention of Jake who nodded. „Jake, right?"
„Yes," Responded Jake. „I didn't expect to see you this soon,"
„We can't foresee coincidences," Mentioned Jamie making Jake nod. „Your arm is all good? Did the wound heal?"
„Yeah, I'm all better now. Thanks for fixing it,"
„De rien," Jamie responded with a chuckle making Jake grin.
„Do you speak French?" Questioned Jake making Jamie nod.
„Of course! I'm originally from Montpellier in France," Answered Jamie making Jake gasp surprised.
„You're French?" Questioned Jake surprised making Jamie nod. „You know I speak French as well. I grew up in Quebec,"
„Pour Vrai? C'est génial!" Commented Jamie glad.
„You know the syrup here actually tastes pretty good," Commented Eugene. „Do they actually serve this as well, when I come to order drinks here for take-away?"
„I think so. It's a drink after all," Answered Goodwin earning a nod from Hank.
„Yes,"
„I could eventually give it my kids to taste it and see if they like it," Noted Eugene.
„They will like it for sure," Agreed Hank. „…..Hey I had a late shift yesterday. Did anyone see the match yesterday between Sunset Valley and Riverview?"
„My roommate Sinbad saw the match and said Sunset Valley managed to win 2-1. They have a new talent in their team and they had put him in in the last 20 minutes. Luckily he was the one to help the team out of the mess,"
„New talent?" Questioned Hank. „You mean the one they call Larry?"
„Exactly," Responded Eugene, then heard a familiar laughter and looked to the front, where Goodwin sat along with Jake. The blonde glimpsed aside as well to see his work partner Jake smile as Jamie was laughing about something, then spoke to the redhead in French, slightly fast than she seemed to do in English while the Canadian listened to her focused to the blonde.
„I heard, people that tried to speak French with actual French people would struggle due to their velocity," Hank commented making Goodwin nod.
„It's a matter of fact, that the languages despite being the same in two different continents do sound quite different. What French did we have at the school actually?" „Questioned Goodwin watching Hank shrug his shoulders.
„Well they don't seem to have a problem with understanding each other," Added Hank watching Jake chuckle as Jamie was using her hands to explain him something in their native language. Goodwin smiled at the two getting along and looked at Hank, which had seen how interested she was in their conversation, despite not understanding, what they were talking about.
„I feel like they're going to be friends real quick," Commented Hank making Goodwin smile and look back at the brunette.
„Honestly, I wouldn't even be surprised if something more would happen between the two. After all they're both single and have a complicated work schedule," Explained Goodwin making Hank nod.
„Let's give them a year and I bet they will at least be dating at one point," Hank commented making Goodwin chuckle and look at Jake, which had crossed his arms over the lean of the bench, to listen attentively to the French woman's story.
