Eula Lawrence

I've met people who can't see before but this may be the first time I've met someone who can't speak.

Also, his clothes - they look nothing like anything I've ever seen. And I've met people from foreign lands before.

And to top it off, that strange look he gave me when I greeted him...as if he had seen me before.

Anyway, I'll just take him to Jean and call it a day, I'm tired after all that patrolling.

After the guards greeted us and we entered the city, the strange man started looking around as if he recognized the place. Similar to the look he gave me...

As we walked through the city, people kept giving me scornful looks. Nothing new, but I was worried it'll affect my companion. I looked over and he was-

Frowning? But why...it didn't look like he was angry at them for staring at him. Its as if he's angry at them for judging me, even though its none of his business. I decided to ignore the situation and proceed with my duty.

Before long, we arrived at the headquarters and to much of my dismay, Lisa was in Jean's room. Normally, I would've waited, but that would just look weird to my companion.

"This is the room of the acting grandmaster, ready?" I asked him and he nodded with a smile.

There's something intoxicating about him that I can't put my finger on...

"Good Afternoon, acting grandmaster. I brought a lost traveler that seems to be from foreign land. He...can't speak." I looked for confirmation towards him before speaking the last line.

"...I see. Thank you, Eula. I am Jean-" She was interrupted by Lisa who had made her way to the man with speed comparable to lightning.

"Oh my~ I haven't seen such a handsome man in a looong time~ And you can't speak?" Lisa inquired and I winced.

This was exactly why I avoided her. Whenever she's around, she bring everyone else into her pace and annoys the shit out of me. How she's still a part of the knights is a mystery! Mark my words, Lisa - Vengeance will be mine!

The strange man reluctantly nodded. Again - the gaze that says he's met Lisa before. I don't think anyone other than me noticed it however.

"I am Lisa~ But you can call me whenever you want. Oh you don't know how much I want to hear your squeals when I-" Lisa's voice was getting more seductive after each word. I was about to freeze her tits when Jean interfered.

"That's enough Lisa, give him some space." She started with a sigh. "First of all, can you tell us your name by writing or some other way?" Jean handed the man a pen and paper and he began scribbling. But the letters he wrote were weirdly shaped and unreadable.

"We can't read this..." I mumbled under my breath but he heard it and gave me an apologetic look. "It's not your fault." I stated.

"Eula's right, but it looks like we'll have some problems. At least you can understand our language which makes it a lot easier. Anyway, I am Jean Gunnhildr, the acting grandmaster of the knights of favonius of Mondstadt." Jean waited for a nod before continuing. "This might be a weird question but...are you from another world?" She asked, probably suspecting a similar case to Lumine. And as soon as she said it, it clicked for me.

Of course! He must be! That explains the clothing, his lack of speech and the hand gestures he was doing earlier. And to confirm my theory, he gave us a smile and another nod.

"I see, well, not to worry. Uh...um.." Jean started off confident but was soon at a loss for words. The other 'traveler' we had met had explained his situation promptly so we could decide how to proceed. But this time...

"For starters, how about we get you a room?" Lisa said with stars in her eyes, still uncomfortably close to our guest.

She clearly had ulterior motives, but her suggestion was actually a sound one.

"Like Lisa said, would you like a place where you can stay for the meanwhile?" Jean gave a bright smile to which the man replied heartily.

I wanted to know more about him but unfortunately it was getting late.

"Jean, I'll get going. I leave the rest to you." I gave her a respectful bow and was about to scurry off when the man caught my arm.

I gave him a puzzled look. However, he quickly let go and 'apologized', followed by giving me another handshake and pointing to our connected hands.

I don't understand. What does shaking our hands again like this mean...

"Ah, maybe he wants to be friends with you?" Lisa offered her insight which proved to be correct.

He wants to be friends with me? Strange...we've only just met. Anyway, I'm sure he's just being nice, and he wouldn't propose such a transaction if he knew of my past. I sighed and decided to reject his offer and spare myself the pain of separation on a later date.

"I appreciate the offer but I'm afraid I must-" He interrupted me by putting a finger on my lips, earnestly surprising me.

He then shook his head and pointed to our hands again, before nodding with his head one last time.

Is he telling me it's going to be alright? But how can he...

It was a strange feeling. Words- No, actions of someone I'd just met were filling me with warmth. If I accepted, this would be my first relationship of any kind outside of my coworkers, the knights. The doubt in my mind still outweighed the warmth by quite a lot...but with a sudden influx of courage, I spoke.

"Fine. I look forward to being friends with you."

Suddenly, Lisa started giggling. I looked over, and Jean was smiling trying to hold laughter as well. Why are they...don't tell me! They read my mind or something!

"Stop laughing at me." I said in a strict tone, which only served to elevate the sounds. Sighing, I decided to ignore them, but when I looked back at the man, I noticed he was doing the exact same thing!

How dare he!

My cheeks flushed and my eyes widened. At that point, Lisa was practically rolling on the ground with laughter.

I snatched back my hand and stormed off, not before saying my piece -

"Mark my words! Vengeance will be mine!"
