Long overdue on this one. Sorry that this was a late update but I promise season 5 will most likely be posted soon. For now, enjoy!

Season 4

Miguel had expected that the idea was going to be terrible. Miguel was wrong. It was even worse. Having two senseis with completely different styles was complete chaos. Everything was different, lessons, warm ups and philosophy. At least sensei Lawrence and sensei LaRusso didn't bash their brains out. They tried very hard to tolerate each other. Later on, sensei Lawrence had dinner with Miguel and his family(grandma and mom). Miguel had noticed that sensei Lawrence was getting particularly close to his family and to his mom. He suspected something was going on between them, and when sensei Lawrence made for dinner tortillas and pico de gallo, food from Miguel's home country(at least sensei Lawrence thought it was from his home country, he got confused with Mexico and Ecuador. Again), it didn't feel like he was trying to impress Miguel. He shook away the feeling. When he mentioned that sensei had a date with Ali, everything got extra weird, with a tense atmosphere. Miguel decided to leave it alone. The next day, both senseis went separate ways. They trained with their original class and that was it. Miguel consulted this to his sensei, saying they should still team up but he didn't budge. So Miguel did a Rocky 3 reference, saying that Apollo and Tocky worked together even if they were complete opposites. At that, his sensei said he would consider it. Later on, Miguel found Sam at Miyagi-Do. He started doing that British accent Sam found very funny but it didn't make her laugh this time. That was a sure sign her day hadn't gone well and she was moody.

The next day, something had changed between the senseis. They were more at peace. They tolerated each other. Everything was much more peaceful. They used the Okinawan sparring day they had built the day before. They sparred a lot. The lesson went flying. Before long, it was night and Miguel was preparing for a dinner with the LaRussos. Luckily, sensei Lawrence and his mom were going to be there or else Miguel's head was going to explode. He was extremely nervous and hoped that he didn't say anything stupid. At the table, they were talking about college. Mr LaRusso said all about how Sam could go to any college she wanted. Then they talked about Miguel. How Miguel had gotten straight A's and was hoping for a good college, in particular Stanford. But it was very expensive and Miguel couldn't afford it. He felt queasy talking about this. Not only about his future, but the way Mr LaRusso said Sam could go to any college... Miguel got deep in thought when he grabbed food and accidentally spilled some wine all over Mr LaRusso. Miguel cursed himself and stammered an apology but Mr LaRusso dismissed it, saying he was fine. Miguel could only hope that the dinner would end soon. The next day, it was training with Mr LaRusso. No, sensei LaRusso. The Miyagi-Dos all went with sensei Lawrence, and the Eagle fangs with sensei LaRusso. After telling Hawk about the dinner, Hawk encouraged Miguel, saying that he was good enough. Miguel hoped that was true. But he still felt uneasy. Sensei LaRusso announced the lesson. It was to catch a fish in the pond. Miguel thought he hadn't heard right. They had to catch a fish with their bare hands. The first one to catch one would lead class all week. And choose the flavor of the next Gatorade sensei LaRusso was going to buy. That got everyone pumped up. At the first grab, Miguel didn't even touch the fish. At the second grab, he fell into the pond. It was extremely cold and definitely funnier when it happened to someone else. The rest of the lesson was pretty much the same. After it, Miguel was disappointed in himself. He hadn't even touched a fish. To make matters worse, his mom called him saying she couldn't pick him up because she was having car troubles. Mr LaRusso must have overheard the conversation. He offered to pick up his mom's car to repair it and give him a lift to the garage. The offer was tempting. Mr LaRusso led a very successful car business. Miguel tried to say it was fine but Mr LaRusso wouldn't take no for an answer. So Miguel hopped in. By the time they arrived to the garage, Mr LaRusso had told Miguel all about his wacky life or deaths stories. This guy had more stories than sensei Lawrence. Miguel was in awe of him. Mr LaRusso said that Miguel would be the one to fix the car. Miguel knew nothing about fixing cars, but Mr LaRusso said he didn't either at his age, but now he had this great car business and maybe someday Miguel could have one too. Miguel dismissed the thought, saying that he couldn't even afford college. Mr LaRusso said that he didn't even go to college. This surprised Miguel. He seriously thought that Mr LaRusso had gone to college. Miguel felt more connected with him now. It was like he was his... older brother. A weird metaphor to say about someone 40 years older than you but it was true. With sensei Lawrence, Miguel felt like he was the father he never had. But with Mr LaRusso it felt almost like his big brother. They were both very similar. No father to grow old with, no college, financial problems, the list went on. Mr LaRusso told him all about how when his mom got money for college he blew it on a round trip to Okinawa for Mr Miyagi and in a bonsai tree store. Miguel didn't know if he was joking or not. Mr LaRusso said his path had never been a straight line. It had been more of a circular one. Miguel said that his mom didn't have enough money for college. Mr LaRusso said that when an enemy approaches you, you respond in a circular motion. Life is like that too he said. When there's a goal, you can reach it, even if it means taking the circular path. He said Miguel had a good head and would make it happen. Miguel felt inspired by this. He grabbed the wrench Mr LaRusso had and went to work. The next day, the lesson was still the same but somehow, with more pressure on Miguel. Miguel had high hopes for this lesson but it was the same as the other day. The fish were too fast. And sensei LaRusso was looking at him, as if he expected him to have the answer. This made Miguel nervous. Why was he looking at him? He tried to remember all the details of the conversation they had the other day. Circular motion... water flow... the board. That was all Miguel needed. Miguel had an idea. It may not work but Miguel was willing to try. He jumped into the pond, the water reaching up to his knees. He ignored the cold and told everyone to get in. They were reluctant at first, but they all jumped in, trusting Miguel. Miguel told them to follow his lead. Miguel moved in a circle. Everyone followed. They imprisoned the fish under the board that was in the middle of the pond. Miguel hadn't paid much attention to it, but now it was the key. When the fish were all under the board, Miguel tried to grab one. He felt his hands touching scales. He squeezed and got out a fish. He lifted the fish triumphantly for everyone to see. Sensei LaRusso gave an approving smirk and congratulated him with a good job. Later on, Miguel was given a headband that represented courage, perseverance and strength. Miguel had earned the right to lead class all week. And to choose the Gatorade flavor. Hopefully they all liked the fruit punchers

Miguel now did more intense training with sensei LaRusso. Practicing his style of karate. He felt comfortable with sensei LaRusso. After the lesson, Miguel and Mr LaRusso went to the garage to finish fixing the garage. Miguel was able to finally repair it. He started up the car and it worked. Mr LaRusso got on the passenger seat and told Miguel to drive. Miguel didn't know how to drive. Mr LaRusso just told him to back out nice and slow. Miguel felt exhilarated. He tried backing up the car. After a lot hitting the brakes and Mr LaRusso teaching him with infinite patience, Miguel got the car out of the garage. But Miguel did lots of mistakes like speeding up on a yellow light. He saw his sensei do it so Miguel did it. Mr LaRusso corrected him. He started talking about how he was shaky at first, without a dad to teach him. But thanks to Mr Miyagi, he learned to drive, and learned that someone could fill that role. Miguel said that he did have a dad. Mr LaRusso asked about him. Miguel told him the truth. How he was in Mexico, got into something illegal but wouldn't leave it so Miguel's mom left him. Mr LaRusso talked about how his mom moved in to LA to have a better life for both of them, and how Miguel's mom had done the same. It may not seem brave, but sometimes avoiding conflict is one of the most heroic things someone could do, he said. Miguel was glad for this new piece of information, and slowed down on a yellow light this time. Miguel and Mr LaRusso entered the building, Mr LaRusso complimenting him on his driving, Mr LaRusso greeted his wife. Miguel inspected the party. One of a little kids, with girls dressed as sirens. He found Sam near a table. He approached and noticed she was full of glitter. Miguel made a witty remark about it. Instead of responding him, Sam just pulled him into a deep kiss. Where'd that come from? Sam just said she had missed him. Miguel decided not to argue. Miguel had an amazing rest of the day with the LaRussos. They went to this place called Latsuya with delicious fresh fish. He also planned to go with Sam to see a movie. When Miguel went back home to prepare, his sensei called for him. Miguel started telling him all about his day. Restaurant, drive lesson and Peter Cetera, a singer Mr LaRusso (and now Miguel) really liked. Sensei Lawrence didn't take the singer thing too well, saying Peter Cetera was the opposite of badass. Miguel didn't understand where that outburst came from. He just asked what he wanted. Sensei Lawrence said it was fine, that Miguel should just go with Sam. So Miguel arranged dinner with his sensei and went to the date. Before he could even enjoy the date, Miguel already saw a fight brewing between Cobra Kais(of course they had to be there) and the others. Miguel and Sam butted in. They started insulting each other but Miguel interrupted them. He said that they should settle this on the mat. The All Valley. Robby responded with are you sure? Remember what happened last time we fought? Ouch. Miguel would admit that hurt. But he knew his intentions. To fire him up. To rile him up. It was not going to work. Miguel was way smarter than that. He cooked up a plan in his head. He told them to go to the baseball court at 20:00. After they were gone, Miguel told them the plan. They parked the cars close to the baseball court to watch the show. Sure enough, Cobra Kai went there, and they got doused with sprinklers. No need to fight. Avoiding conflict. Back at Miyagi-Do, Miguel was receiving a lot of new names. Rainmaker. Diablo de la lluvia. Sensei Lawrence asked what was going on. Miguel explained what happened. His sensei didn't take it well. Sensei LaRusso came to Miguel's rescue. Saying that he had been smart and that he was proud of Miguel. Sensei Lawrence was saying something when he got interrupted by someone. Kreese

Miguel and the other were inside the dojo. They were watching and hearing the conversation carefully. There was a guy next to Kreese. He looked like someone that could fight. He had a strong build, one head taller than Kreese and both the senseis and gray nearly white hair tamed by a tiny ponytail. The guy looked about sixty something, and Miguel had no doubt that if he threw a punch at him, he would have kicked him in the guts already before it reached his face. The guy was talking calmly, but sensei LaRusso wasn't. He was pissed, insulting him. They started talking about the tournament and the students. They left with a threat. Miguel didn't know who that guy was, but sensei LaRusso seemed more shaken up by him than with Kreese. He was bad news. Sensei LaRusso sent them home early. The funny thing is, how one night can change everything. How you're friends with someone but the next day you're sworn enemies. That's what happened with the senseis. It may have been that guy that came to the dojo, it may have been the booze Miguel knew they must have drank, but in any case, he found a tweet from sensei Lawrence, informing about a fight between him and LaRusso. A tournament fight. Miguel informed this to Sam. They told everyone else. But a lot of people were just saying that that was super cool and I'd love to watch them fight and stuff like that. Miguel and Sam agreed to talk to the senseis and try to reason with them. Miguel hoped that sensei Lawrence didn't actually mean the tweet. But then again, sensei Lawrence never joked about fighting. So Miguel wasn't surprised when he found him practicing his technique and sparring against a wall. He tried to reason with him, saying he wanted to learn more about Miyagi-Do, but he wouldn't take no for an answer. Tried telling him that nobody would win with this, but he wouldn't listen. Miguel gave up. And he found out Sam had no success either. So reluctantly, they helped with the preparations for the match. They were doing it at the sparring deck. Miguel and Sam would referee. Heck some of the guys would even record and comment on the fight. Night finally came and LaRusso and Lawrence were ready. They got in fighting positions and began. Lawrence struck first with some kicks, getting the advantage and winning the point with a punch to the ribs. 1-0. This time, LaRusso struck first with a punch. He got the advantage while Lawrence defended his punches but LaRusso managed to kick him in the chest which surprised Lawrence and couldn't block it. 1-1. Lawrence attacked with punch after punch while LaRusso blocked and blocked until finally he saw an opening after Lawrence kicked him and left himself defenseless. LaRusso delivered a punch to the ribs to win the point. 2-1. If LaRusso scored the point he would win. LaRusso started doing kata until Lawrence attacked with a kick. He let punches fly until LaRusso grabbed his arm, and hit a specific point over and under Lawrence's shoulder. When Lawrence got out, he couldn't move his arm. Miguel recognized the technique. The same one LaRusso used against Kreese that night after the fight. LaRusso really wanted to win. Lawrence was shocked at this technique, but he didn't let that stop him. Lawrence protected himself, then jumped to wrap his legs around LaRusso's hips and brought him down, hitting him with his leg to earn the point. Lawrence's arm got back to normal. 2-2. Whoever won the next point wins. Lawrence began with a kick that LaRusso avoided. Lawrence threw some punchesbut LaRusso deflected them and brought him down. From the floor, Lawrence steeped his leg. LaRusso jumped to dodge it and then threw a kick which Lawrence blocked. LaRusso delivered punches, but Lawrence deflected them and pushed LaRusso to a pole. Lawrence tried to kick him but LaRusso easily evaded. Lawrence went on offense and started throwing punches and kicks which LaRusso blocked. LaRusso threw a kick of his own, blocked by Lawrence. Then Lawrence spin es around and prepared a punch while LaRusso prepared a kick. Lawrence punched LaRusso at the same time LaRusso kicked him in the face. They both fell to the ground at the same time. Miguel and Sam started to debate about who won the point. They looked at the footage but the angle was terrible and you could only see their backs. One of the two senseis were going to freak out, or offer a rematch. But someone came. It was Hawk. He had a hoodie on which was strange. He couldn't have that with the Mohawk he has. Miguel hadn't noticed he was missing. He took the hoodie off. It revealed a messed up hair. No Mohawk. There was just left strands of purple hair from his latest color. Miguel was horrified. He knew how much the Mohawk meant to Hawk. It was the symbol of his confidence. Shattered. He revealed it was Cobra Kai who did this. Sensei Lawrence wanted revenge. And sensei LaRusso couldn't believe that was his response. Miguel tried to stop them but they wouldn't hear it. Sensei Lawrence said how sensei LaRusso still believed his way was the only way. How they should have stood their ground the other day so this wouldn't have happened. Sam agreed with sensei Lawrence, saying that Cobra Kai was just going to come back if they didn't stand up against them. Sensei LaRusso didn't like that one but. Saying how he didn't want everyone to act like him. Sensei Lawrence said they were done. He waved over all the Eagle fangs and waited for Miguel who hesitated. He didn't want this. He wanted to stay. Stay united. But he went with sensei Lawrence in the end.

There were big changes in the tournament. There was now a skills competition, which dojos would win points by presenting their students doing skills. There was now separate tournaments, the girls and the boys. So Eagle fang needed girls. Miguel talked about this to his sensei, saying how it would be useful to team up again with LaRusso to get Sam back on the team but sensei Lawrence was stubborn and wouldn't go for it. Later on, Miguel and his sensei went to a school campus to find a girl champ. Sensei Lawrence have signs to a lot of chicks(like he would say) but none of them wanted to join. He then got the crazy idea to make Miguel pose to convince girls. Miguel didn't feel comfortable, especially because he had a girlfriend but he did it anyway. Luckily, no girls signed up. Miguel talked to Moon, a friend of Miguel and ex of Hawk. She said her ex(not Hawk) was pretty sporty and looking to join a dojo. So Miguel and sensei Lawrence went to talk to her. Sensei Lawrence talked to her at the gymnasium and arranged meeting at the Eagle fang. Which was great because she was really fast and strong. A female champion. The next day, they waited for her at the place they trained. It was an old building with lots of tools that are used to build stuff. She hadn't come in yet. Miguel checked her instagram when he saw a live with her putting on a Cabra Kai shirt. She had joined Cobra Kai. Sensei Lawrence was being negative but Miguel encouraged him. How he made him a champion when he didn't look like one. And how he could do that again. So sensei Lawrence said he would think outside the box. Later on, Miguel was hanging out with Bert, an Eagle fang classmate and friend, at the debate team watching a debate. Sensei Lawrence came there. Miguel was surprised he had come. He now expected news. But all sensei Lawrence had to show was a wig. Saying how he could dress up a guy to compete in the girl's division. Sensei Lawrence stopped talking. Apparently the girl debating had started insulting his opponent, saying his case was complete trash. The opponent complained about a rule in a book or something, but the girl grabbed the book and ripped it in half, saying that's what she thought of the rule book. Sensei Lawrence looked enlightened. He said he had found the most badass girl in The Valley.

Miguel was preparing for training. His sensei had come to the door. He was trying to find his water bottle but Miguel couldn't find it anywhere. The bottle water must have been in the car so he asked for the keys. His mom said it was on her nightstand. Miguel went to her bedroom. He grabbed the keys and noticed something about the bed. Something black. He pulled it out it was a sock. Not just any sock. His sensei's sock. He knew this because he nearly always wore that sock to train. The first feeling wasn't shock. Miguel had actually kind of expected it. The way her mom and sensei had been acting. He just found it plain weird. He had thought of his sensei as a father but not as one that banged his mom. Miguel decided to confront them. When he did, it was obvious the sock wasn't an accident by the look on their faces. They sat down and talked about it. They were dating. They meant to tell him on a nice restaurant. Sensei said nothing was going to change. They asked him how he was feeling. Miguel acted happy for them. And he was, but he was even more weirded out. But he didn't let that show. Miguel just wanted to escape this situation. Later at the training the girl showed up. Devon Lee. Sensei was already liking her culture, spitting out some movies that rocked. When he announced the training, he said everyone except Miguel would do it. He'll be cosensei. Miguel hoped this wasn't about the "situation" they were in. The training was about cheating. Simulating the situations where Cobra Kai might cheat. It was painful. Even if it was painful, Miguel wanted to do it. When training ended, everyone resented him for not doing the training. Later on, Miguel arrived late for dinner at home he had lost track of time with Sam. And then when he arrived home, sensei was there. And he tried to be all dad-like and it was simply terrible. Horrific. And Miguel called it out. How everywhere with him was now weird. Class, home. He said nothing would change, well it did. Miguel stormed off to his room. The next day, Miguel talked to Sam about the situation when his sensei walked up to him. This was in school. He asked Miguel to skip class to do a little field trip. Miguel didn't really want to skip class. His sensei persuaded him. He looked over at Sam and she approved. So Miguel agreed. They went to the Eagle fang building and just ate watermelon. Sensei just tried to force small talk. Miguel they were going to train not have another awkward conversation. He told him so. He started saying how he didn't know anything about this. How he was new at it(despite having Robby) so if he acted a bit weird, it's because of that. That he gets freaked out. Miguel asked if that's what happened with Robby. Sensei confirmed it. But he had never told him why. He started talking about how his dad left him when he was little. How his mom tried to replace him with a rich prick. But that only made him miss him more. Miguel knew that feeling. That feeling rose up every time Miguel thought about his dad. Cheated on. That it wasn't fair. Miguel asked him if he ever went looking for him. He said he wouldn't know what to say or where he could possibly be. And that he was afraid of finding out the truth. Why he left. Sensei continued with his point. Saying how he didn't have a role model growing up. Until he met Kreese. Bad. He didn't want to end up like any of them. He took all that bullshit and put it on Robby's life. He can't fix that. He didn't want to make that mistake again with Miguel. Miguel said how he was happy for his sensei and his mom, but he wanted some things to stay the same. Like him being his sensei. And sensei Lawrence agreed. He stood up and lifted up a watermelon from a tray full of watermelon. He started talking about the flying tornado, one of the most badass kicks in karate. And someone came in at this. Sam. Miguel was surprised she was here. She said she should learn both styles, and that was what she was going to do. So together they learned the flying tornado, the most badass kick ever created.

Miguel went to pick up Sam for prom. He was excited about this. Sam and Miguel had talked about it all week. Miguel and his family(including sensei) arrived. Miguel got greeted by Mr and Mrs LaRusso. Sam walked down the stairs and Miguel was in awe. It was a simple pink dress, but Miguel thought she looked stunning and amazing. He told her so. Or tried to tell her so, he might have stuttered a bit. It was the night Miguel and Sam had begged to come. No karate. No rivalries. No Cobra Kai. Just them. After the group photos everyone took, Miguel and Sam went on their way. When they arrived, everything was set for a nice evening. No one had spiked the punch(yet) no Cobra Kai had appeared and Sam and Miguel were enjoying themselves. Tonight was just about them. They had to say it out loud and jinx it. Because the next two people to walk in would ruin everything. Robby and Tory. They walked together in hand. They were together. Miguel had no idea they were dating or if they were just doing to spite them, but if it was the second option, it was definitely working. Out on the dance floor, Miguel and Sam were slow dancing when they crashed the party. They started making dance moves all movie-like. Seriously they were pros. Miguel tried to not pay much attention to them. For a moment he got himself lost staring at them. Sam pulled him out. He cursed himself and tried to concentrate. Perfect night. Just them. Miguel finally concentrated, but now it was Sam who took quick glances, obviously distracted. He caught her staring at them for too long. He called it out. The night only got worse. When prom ended, the party continued at some other house. Sam said she had learned her lesson. Miguel was glad. When Sam went to get some snacks, Miguel went face to face with Robby. Luckily a little fight distracted them and evaded a fight between them. Later at the party, Miguel saw a fight out by the pool. It was Sam and Tory. Miguel couldn't catch a break. He grabbed Sam and pulled her away from Tory. He tried to reason with her. But Tory got back up and got ready to punch her but Miguel blocked it and grabbed by the waist until they both fell down, face to face. Okay awkward. Very awkward. Robby saw them both and grabbed Miguel and started fighting him. Sam blocked it and grabbed Robby. Face to face. Another awkward moment. Tory sweeper Sam's leg from the floor. Miguel helped Sam up and together started fighting. Robby and Tory danced fight in sync. Of course. Robby pulled Tory up and Tory kicked them both. She had heels. Miguel and Sam got up. Miguel started fighting one on one with Robby and Sam did the same. Robby grabbed Miguel's arm after he threw a punch and got him on his knees with one of his hands on his neck, choking him. He started saying how did he really think his dad cared about him? He's trying to make himself feel god for screwing up with him. Ouch Robby pushed Miguel who crashed in the fight between Sam and Tory, making all three fall in the pool. Miguel dissed Sam. They had an argument. They both wanted to go home. So they did. Miguel went to his sensei's home. He wanted to get advice from him. He found a tv on the floor and lots of empty cans sprawled on the floor. Sensei was lying on the floor, obviously drunk. He told him to come in. Miguel picked him up and carried him to bed. He positioned him in bed. Sensei looked like a little kid while Miguel was his mom, taking off his shoes and lifting his feet so he would get inside the comfy blanket. He pulled the beer can from his hand and spilled a bit on his shirt. Sensei apologized but Miguel said it was okay. He was already wet anyway. Sensei started saying how he really wanted to be a father to him. How he tries to protect him, be there but sucked at it. But he really wanted to. Miguel felt a strong pulse of emotions. Of love. He told him that he was doing fine. And that he loved him. Which he did. But sensei said five words that broke Miguel's heart. I love you too, Robby. Miguel didn't what to do now. He wanted to cry. He might have been crying already. But he settled for going home, prepare for the tournament, and try to shove down real deep his sadness.

The All Vally had finally come. It was a very important day but Miguel was distracted. Distracted by the events of last night. The presentations were very cool though. There was Cobra Kai, Miyagi-Do and some other dojos whose names Miguel didn't remember. Sensei Lawrence encouraged everyone with a team talk motivating them. Miguel looked at Sam. He felt really guilty about the other day. They hadn't talked since. Miguel wanted to apologize but instead he tried to focus. Which he couldn't. Sensei Lawrence pulled Miguel aside. He said he knew what was going on with Miguel. Miguel was surprised. He was sure sensei was so drunk the other day that he didn't expect him to remember. Sure enough, sensei started talking about girl trouble. He didn't remember anything. So Miguel acted like sensei really helped, and went to warm up. Before long, the skills competition began. Every dojo needed to put a show with weapons and techniques that impressed the judges. Everything went according the plan. Miguel and the rest of the Eagle fangs did their job correctly. Miguel did some karate positions his sensei taught him really fast and earned an applause. It started to get even more tense. Whoever did it all right, would get in the leaderboard. Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do did it really well with dangerous weapons that could maim someone if they weren't careful. And when it got tense, mistakes appeared. Hawk didn't break one board. Mitch lost control and nearly killed the judges with his weapon. But Cobra Kai made no mistakes. They were in the lead. Eagle fang were sixth. Devon did the math. Mathematically, the skills competition didn't matter that much but it gave you an advantage. Eagle fang needed to win as the most number of matches possible. If only. For the qualifiers, the singer Carrie Underwood sang for entertainment. Miguel couldn't believe the All Valley had pulled that off. And with that, the qualifiers began. They passed in a flash. It wasn't that much of a challenge. He didn't come across any familiar faces. Before long, Miguel was in the quarterfinals. Only two passes to the quarterfinals. Miguel and Devon. Mathematically, they could still win but it was almost impossible. Miguel fought in the quarterfinals against someone from a dojo he didn't know. He was pretty good but Miguel defeated him with a really badass kick in the face. Devon lost in the quarterfinals against Tory. After that, she did the calculations and said mathematically it was still possible to win. If Miguel won. It all had to come to that didn't it? But his sensei had full trust on Miguel. It made him a bit nervous. He thought about his dad... again. He tried to distract himself. He wasn't about to let that crazy idea flow through his mind again. He saw the other matches. Eli(or was it Hawk?) won against Kyler. Robby won against his own friend and classmate, Kenny Payne. He was only 13 or 12 or something but Robby had no mercy. For the last point he hit him so hard with a kick in the face everyone went quiet. The kid had a bleeding nose. Sam won against Piper, the one Miguel and sensei tried to recruit originally. Demetri also won and went to the semifinals with Robby. Miguel decided to look at who he got for the semi and it was Hawk. Unfortunately. Miguel talked with Mr LaRusso before his fight. Mr LaRusso congratulated him for winning and using his techniques. His sensei interrupted and told him to get ready. Anyone could see the tension between those two. For a prep talk, sensei said that even though that was his friend Miguel needed to kick his ass. This didn't feel right. He said that was his friend but sensei Lawrence responded with he chose his side. Whose side were you on? Miguel responded with his but he really didn't want this. He didn't like this. He challenged him. Told him whose side were you on? He said he was on his side but Miguel wasn't sure. Sensei was just focused on winning. Miguel got up the mat, did a fist bump with Hawk, bowed and got into his fighting position. Miguel struck first. Hawk was using Miyagi-Do style so he defended mostly. Miguel threw a right hooks and left hooks to get the advantage. He was going after him. They both jumped and kick and blocked at the same time. It was even. Miguel kicked him, aiming for the guts but he blocked it. When he got off the floor Miguel jumped with determination. He knew what he was going to do. The flying tornado. The most badass kick in karate. And as he spun, his mind was flooded with sentences his sensei said. When he was in recovery. When he helped him recover. And he was right. He wasn't a kid anymore. The first time they met. How he trusted him. Miguel was going to trust him back. But he missed. Miguel missed. And he felt something crack. Miguel fell to the floor with a terrible crack that made all his senses flood with pain. Everyone went deathly silent. His sensei and the doctor were moving their mouths but the only sound Miguel could hear was of himself screaming. It was the rupture of All Valley defending champion, Miguel Diaz.

Maybe Miguel had been a little bit dramatic. Maybe. It was only a pulled muscle in the back. The nurse said that he could fight depending on the pain he felt. It was up to Miguel. It felt a bit sore though. The time went slow and Miguel's back was not getting any better. He told his his sensei about it. He didn't think he could do it. Sensei started saying how he had the heart of a champion. An inspirational speech. How if you want it bad enough you could do anything. But he blew it at the last part. He said that not only would they take down Cobra Kai but also show LaRusso who's boss. Miguel felt disappointed. So that's what this is all about. He continued. Saying how if he lost, he wouldn't be his sensei anymore. To go show him that he was a man. Miguel would have felt inspired by this speech like so many other times but this time he couldn't. He wasn't fighting for himself anymore. Miguel didn't want this. One thought led to another and Miguel thought about that stupid plan again. Maybe... just maybe. Miguel wanted to be selfish for once. All this time it felt like he was fighting for his. He needed to be a bit selfish for once, even if it would disappoint sensei Lawrence. So he didn't show up at the fight. And he was set on doing the plan. But he wanted to do something first. He wanted to see Sam. Patch things up. Ease her nerves for the final against Tory. When he revealed himself to Sam, she was worried about him, asking if he was ok. Miguel was flattered. He told her what he thought, not fighting for himself anymore and all. She understood it and empathized with him. Her dad did the same. But Johnny wasn't his dad. Miguel was straying from the point. He wished her good luck. Tried to tell her more but an announcement asking for the finalists interrupted. Sam said she had to go but she would see Miguel rooting for her right? Miguel felt guilty when she said that, but he felt relieved they had patched things up. He said he was always rooting for her which was true. Even in this case. He was going to be an admirer from afar. That seemed to be the right thing to say, because Sam leaned in for the kiss and Miguel did too. Her kiss was something Miguel had missed, even if they hadn't separated too long ago. But it made him feel very guilty with what he was going to do next. He was going to leave. He left a note. He sorry to do it this way but it was the best way. The only way. The last few months had been a rollercoaster. His injury. Rehab. Sam. Sensei and Mr LaRusso. Miguel thought if he just focused on the tournament he would get over everything else. He thought if he won, everything would work out. He was wrong. He wanted to say sorry to his sensei for bailing. His karate helped him grow, but he was still not sure who he wants to be. And to figure that out, Miguel thought he need to know where he came from. Sensei was scared of finding out his past. Honestly, Miguel was too. But it was a fight he had to face, instead of competing for a trophy. He needed to do this. So try not to worry. He put all that in the note(not in the third person that's just creepy) and told them the reason why. Miguel was a man now. He needed to do this. So he hopped on a bus to Mexico City, and went to find his dad.

Happy New Year everybody. Hope you all enjoyed
