In the Smash foster homes, many children are waiting to be adopted. While children waited for their turn for a new home and family, there was one child who had waited to be adopted for over 12 years and still was waiting for someone to pick him up. This child was known as Toon Link and he has been in foster care ever since he was a baby. None of the other adults at the time wanted him because of how he is, and so he grew up in foster care bouncing from one home to another until he received a letter inviting him to the Smash tournament for all fighters. There Toon Link met other link's like him and some new friends his age to play with when they don't have a match that day, but still, he had to return to the foster care facility when the tournament was over and all the money he made would go started to them until he was 18 years old. When the tournament end date came in March, all the fighters gathered around together during the Christmas season wishing all a new year and opening gifts from one another. However Toon Link always had a happy smile when Christmas came to the Smash mansion, but under nef that he wanted a home with care parents who would beat him if he messed up on the chores.
What got Toon Link down was that he was informed 3 weeks ago that all the other children were adopted and he was the last one they have offered to some families, but none would take him in and with the foster care closing down, he would have to sleep on the streets coming the new year. Though he didn't mind having to sleep on the streets because a few of his foster families had thrown him outside to sleep in the dirt. Later they would pick him up roughly and then throw him into the house to do the same chores. Then he would be bounced to another house that would abuse him more just because of his face, but luckily for Toon link, the Foster care let him stay with them after seeing how many families had abused him and nearly killed him.
That was a year ago the foster care let him stay in their building while he does not mind playing with the younger children, but that was then now he is in the last months before the tournament ends and everyone goes home again. Before the tournament ended there was one holiday that everyone in the smash mansion enjoyed and that was Christmas. It's the one time of the year when everyone is happy and not throwing anger and hate at one another. During this time Toon links with all the other kid's smashers and we're writing the letters to Santa Claus they want for Christmas. Now he would normally write in his Santa letters where maps, arrows, and a few toys were. However this year he only wrote one thing in his letter.
Toon Link's Santa letter
Dear Santa,
This Christmas I want a family to take care of me so I don't have to sleep on the streets in smash city. They'll help me to learn and grow into a good person. Also, I don't get another beating in the skull and my bottom. I have been so abused so much that I fake a smile on the outside when I'm not happy on the inside at all. I want to be able to come back from the smash tournament and say I missed you, mom and dad, can we play after your work is done. We all just hang out together, can you make my Christmas wish become reality and not made up? Though I do understand that I might have given you the hardest Christmas wish to do and that it wouldn't come true. It is okay if you can't, it just means I'll be a kid sleeping on the streets for the rest of my life. If you're reading this at least try to tempt me to get the family I always wanted. It doesn't have to be big or small, just a kind caring family that looks out for their young.
From Toon Link
After finishing his letter Toon link went off to play with the kids outside in the snow. Out there they were playing snowball fights to see which one of them won the game. Later the kids build snowmen and made snow angels and even some of the kids would copy Pit and Dark Pit snow angel poses. All of them try but couldn't get it, but they still had fun. Then they play the find the angel game, where the kids have to find Pit in the snow because he blends in so well, that most of the children misunderstood him as a snow pile or snow moun.
Sometime after the sun went down, all the kids grew tired and cold from playing in the snow. So they called Pit and they gave up and he won the game. While waiting for Pit, they saw the snow moun they were playing start to move, and then Pit emerged from it. Then all the kids were where he was the whole time. How did we miss that? Pit" Pittoo! Why do you cover me in the snow?" Dark Pit'' Don't call me Pittoo! And besides, the kids wanted to play and find the angel hidden in the snow. You just happen to be the angel that can hide within the snow.``
After that Pit and Dark Pit with the rest of the children came inside for warmth and hot chocolate and apple cider. They ran to the smashed kitchen, and once there they saw their drinks ready-made and waiting for them. While the children enjoyed their drinks, the smash servants went to their quarters in the smash mansion house while others had families to return to. When all the servants were in their rooms, one servant was heading back to the kitchen to get a glass of water.
While there she heard all the smash kids chatting about how good Christmas is going to be and how many gifts they would get from the other smashers and Santa. They happened to all the smashers during Christmas, on Christmas day the gifts under the tree would build up so high that you couldn't even see the tree standing in the center of it all. Yup, every year this happens to the Christmas tree, but everyone was so happy and spreading the spirit around.
On her way back she accidentally bumped into the smasher's kid's Christmas wish letters and a few fell off the table, while cleaning it up one letter caught her eye, and that letter was Toon link's. She carefully opened it and read what he wanted for Christmas, but what she saw was most disturbing and sad, and how no one had noticed how Toon Link was feeling. Also, how he never got adopted by anyone in Smash City and that the Foster care is closing down. After reading the letter she went to the Master hands office to show him the letter.
However servants are usually only allowed into the Master hand office when they need them for something, but going in uncalled for does not make any servants do extra chores and work. The servant sees it as an emergency for Master Hand to read this letter that one of the kid's smashers wrote would help the kid to have a better life. At Master Hand's office, the servant knocked on the door. Master Hand" Come in." Kaitas" Hello, Mr. Hand, I have come to you to check what one of the kid's smashers has written in their Christmas letters and this kid can use some help to make that wish come true!"
She said while handing over the letter to Master Hand. When reading over it Master Hand saw how much the kid wanted a kind and loving family to belong to and feel safe. Master Hand" I see, the Foster care is closing down and there's nothing left for the kid, but sleep on the streets, and how the kid has been hurt by his foster family and that this is his last chance for a family to adopt him. As far as I can see most of the other adults here wouldn't be able to take him even though some of them have grown up in different situations where they can't handle young kids. Now it puts me on ``how can I find him a lovely family for Christmas?"
Kaitas'' I have an idea, but that is you are willing to help with it." Master Hand'' Okay, what's your idea Kaitas?" Kaitas" Well, I think maybe I should adopt Toon Link because I don't have a family and I always wanted to have a child to take care of and help raise them and be the best mother I can be! So what do you think?" Master Hand" Well, Toon Link isn't a normal kid, he would get laughed at and bullied for how he looks, but I do think having you adopt him would've been great because it shows that you have grown up.``
Kaitas" So is that a yes or a no?" Master Hand" I can't tell you not to adopt him but are sure he'll accept you as his new mom forever?" Kaitas" I know it'll take some time as a new mom and the kid adjusting to her, but I'm willing to do it and give him the home he deserves?" Master Hand" Okay, I'll help with the adoption center and the forms to fill out."
Within the next day, Kaitas and Master Hand when to the foster care center. Once there they were greeted by one of the staff up at the reception desk. " Hello, how may I help you today. Oh welcome back Master Hand". The sir is at the desk. Master Hand " Oh, good to see you, David. And I'm here with one of my hard-working servants Kaitas. She has become interested in one of the kid's smashers during the summer lives here and she was wondering if she could adopt him as her child and rise him up. I also have the forms for her working at the smash mansion for years, if you would like to take a look?"
David `` Yes, we would like to see the forms from her work and to see if she is the right fit for the child!" Master Hand'' Ok, here you go." Then Master Hand handed over kaitas work papers and how she works very hard to be the best worker she can be. While David read through the paperwork that was given to him. He saw that she would be perfect for the kid and he'll have a good life and a caring family. Just like how the kid wanted so much. David" I see that you Miss Kaitas have been working hard and want a child of your own. So I don't see why you can't adopt him, but the quick question is you planning to work somewhere else in the future?" Kaitas'' No, I plan on staying at the smash mansion house to clean and cook." David'' I see, well here are the adoption papers for you to fill out. That kid going to be so happy when he hears the news." Kaitas" I know, but I'm thinking of surprising the kid on Christmas day so it looks like Santa made his wish come true.``
David '' Ah, what a most generous thing to do for the kid. You'll be a great mother for him." He said while Kaitas was signing the adoption papers. Kaitas'' There all done." David'' Thanks so much." He checked that everything was in its place and the name of the child she adopted. When he looked at the child's name Kaitas wrote down, he was brought to tears when he saw the Toon Link name written down. After that, the papers were put in a file suitcase and David said thanks for doing that for the Toon link. He said while Kaitas and Master Hand were walking out the door. On the walk back to the mansion Kaitas and Master Hand stop by the store and Kaitas bought a big wooden box and a picture frame to put in your adopted paper. Then she got a big piece of paper to make a treasure map on it.
When they got home Kaitas went to work right away on Toon Link's gift. There in her room, she painted the wooden box with rubies all piled up around the box and that the triforce symbol was on top and in the center of all the rubies. She even put the master sword right next to the triforce. Once the box was done drying, she then put it in the frame with the adoption paper and put it inside the box. After that, she works on the map so he can find where his new mother's room. While working on the map Master Hand had a gift for Kaitas, so he went to her room and knocked polity on the door. Kaitas'' come in." Master Hand when in. Master Hand " Kaitas, there's something I want to give you, I would have given it to you on Christmas day, but with you adopted Toon Link, I thought now might be a good time as any." Kaitas'' Ok, what is Master Hand?" Master Hand" Well, I would like to give you my second mansion. It's all yours, no bills to pay, they have all been paid off! You can even take Toon Link there since now he's your son." Kaitas'' Thank you so much, but where would I find it?" Master Hand" Simple the mansion will reveal itself to you and by the way, it is not too far from here.
Kaitas" Oh, didn't know that before. Now I'll have to change the map a little bit so Toon Link can find me." Master Hand" That kid always loves a treasure map and find what's at the end. Also, Christmas is next week. Do you need any help moving into your new home?" Kaitas" I only have a few things so it's not a lot, but I'll be fine moving it." Master Hand" Ok, Just let me know if you need anything." Kaitas" Okay" After that Kaitas updated the treasure map then place it in the box and wrap it up in blue wrapping paper with snowflakes on it. Then she places it under the smasher's Christmas tree. When that was done she grabbed all her stuff and went to the mansion Master Hand had given to her from what he said the mansion did reveal itself to her and it was very big and pretty. Once inside she put her stuff away in her room and started working on the welcome home Toon Link banner, which she hung over the two stire cases in the font lobby. When that was done she went to the kitchen and made a Christmas cake and gingerbread cookies. With that all done she went to bed, and in the morning she went back to Master Hands mansion to work cleaning the floors and mopping the tiles, then when her shift was done she went back home.
Finally, it was Christmas Day and all the smasher children were running to the lobby to open the presents they got from Santa, but before they could Peach called them for breakfast and that they needed to wait for everyone else to wake up so then they could open the presents under the Christmas tree. After all the other smashers got up and ate their breakfast. They all went to the lobby first to open their presents. Where the 12 feet Christmas tree stood. Then after everyone was done opening their gifts there was one more present sitting under the tree. Peach went to grab it and hand it to the person whose name was on it, but when she read who it was from it only said From Mother, after reading To To Toon Link, she gave Toon his back gift that was left over.
When he got it he was surprised. There he opened right in front of everyone. When the wrapping was all shredded up, there was a beautiful wood box painted on it. Everyone else was just as surprised, they never see a more beautiful piece of art on a wooden box. When toon opened the box, he saw the paper inside the frame saying you are adopted. Next to it was a turster map locating where his new mother and home are. While looking at the map there were other gifts Toon Link's new mom hidden around the mansion that his friends can help him find. After that Toon and his friends went around the whole mansion to find all the gifts. They all found them and added them to the Toon pile. When the kids were doing that all the adults were talking about the toon link and how he got spoiled this Christmas.
After the kids were done with all the toon gifts in his pile, they all went over to the toon link who was now looking at the map. Though it shows the Smash mansion and another mansion not too far from there to meet his new mother. On their way there the mansion revealed itself to them and they went inside. Once inside there in the lobby was a big banner saying welcome home Toon link. Over to the right top of the staircase was kaitas walking down in an appern tie around her. Kaitas " I see you have figured it out, Toon Link, so how did you like your Christmas present?" Toon Link" Are you my new mom?" Kaitas" Yes, I adopted you back a week ago, with the help of Master Hand." Toon Link" This is the best Christmas gift ever!" Kaitas" Well, then why don't you all follow me to the kitchen for Christmas dinner." In the kitchen, there was food and drinks and best of all there was cake. There was even a Master Hand there. Master Hand" Hello, smashers you are just in time for dinner. That Kaitas and I had made for you guys. The smashers were shocked and surprised at the same time, but they never turned down a big feast. So they all gather around the table and eat dinner. When everyone was full they all went home and Toon Link stayed with his new mom.
