Forever a Legend

On a cloudy Saturday evening, Kimberly Hart decided to pay a visit to the grave of her beloved friend and teammate Trini.
After finding her friend's grave, Kim walks up before kneeling.
"Hey, Trini, I hope you can hear me. Last week, I won my 20th gymnastic title. I wish you could've been there physically, but I know you were there spiritually. I know it's been 21 years but, it still feels like yesterday since we lost you. I'll never forget, I'll never forget Billy's call."
*Flashback, September 3, 2001.*
Kim hangs her gymnastic outfit on the door before taking a shower, when she gets done she is about to put on her gymnastic suit when her phone rings.
"Hello? Hey, Billy! Yeah, I'm just getting ready for the show tonight, yeah. What? Billy, is everything OK? Trini was what? Oh my god, when did this happen? Aw, man, is she OK?" Kim suddenly freezes, drops the phone, and then she faints as Billy is on the phone saying, "Kim, Kim, are you still there? Kimberly?"
A couple of hours later Kim wakes up, before seeing her friends Billy, Zack & Aisha sitting nearby.
Kim starts to sit up, prompting her friends to go to her.
"Hey, are you alright?" Billy asked.
"Yeah." she said. "Billy, I must've been dreaming because I got a call from you earlier about Trini."
"I wish was that was a dream," said Billy
Suddenly, Kim's body tensed up, her face filled with shock upon the realization that what Billy had told her was real.
"What happened?" she asked.
"She was driving on the interstate when a drunk driver crashed into her car and sent her right into a tree, one of the branches broke off and crushed her car." said Zack, clearly fighting back tears as he told Kim this information.
"No, no, it… she." Kim struggled to speak as she quickly choked up, tears formed in her eyes, her mind suddenly turned off as she tried to process what she had been told. How could this be? How could Trini be gone, she thought to herself.
"Kim." Aisha said, placing her hand on Kim's left hand.
"Why? How? She, she can't be gone, she's too young, she…" Kim struggled to find the words before eventually breaking down in tears, prompting Aisha to hug her.
Zack and Billy both choked up as they too are struggling to process this tragedy.
After learning about this news, Kim pulled out of the gymnastics meet, her heart was broken, and didn't feel she could compete with her mind elsewhere.
Jason, Billy, Zack, Kim, Kat, Aisha, Rocky, Adam, and Tommy, who himself was dealing with the death of his brother, struggled to process the news of Trini's death.
The shock of Trini's death left her friends in complete disbelief, none of them wanted to believe she was truly gone.
A week passed, and her funeral came. Her friends and family gathered to say a very emotional goodbye to their friend.
Trini's body laid in the casket, a yellow rose in her hand, her helmet laid on her Yellow Ranger suit next to her casket.
One by one, her friends walked up to say goodbye and to leave a flower in her casket.
"Trini loved life, she loved this planet," said Adam.
"I think she was the only one who really understood my technical jargon, if you wanna call it that." he said with a slight chuckle. "I loved her, she was my second in command."
"She wouldn't fight unless provoked, if you threatened her friends, family, or the planet you were likely in deep trouble," said Aisha.
"She lit up the room with her smile wherever she went." said Zack.
"She was smart, compassionate, she always did her best to be there for others if they needed help," said Rocky.
"She wanted there to be peace, and did her best to bring forth that." said Kat.
"She was like a sister to all of us, I think I speak for everyone when I say that our hearts are broken, we're gonna miss her so much." said Jason.
"She enjoyed being with her friends, and we enjoyed being with her." said Tanya, "I never really got to know her as well as the others did, but with all the stories I heard it became apparent how great a woman Trini was."
"I lost two important people to me in the span of about three months. I lost my brother 3 months ago, and now I'm trying to get through this as well. When he died, much like the rest of my friends, she was there to comfort me. He never left our side, she always made sure that we were OK, she always did her best to help us through the worst of times." said Tommy. "They always wanted to help, they never gave up until people got what they needed, she always allowed others to cry on her shoulder in the toughest times even if she was struggling herself."
"She was my sister, my best friend and I loved her so much." Kim said as she cried. "Trini, we love you, we miss you so much, I know that you're in our hearts forever, please watch over us, you were a great friend and a great hero. Farewell, until we meet again."
After Trini was laid to rest, Kim took a few months off from gymnastics before eventually returning this time she added a tribute to her outfits, a saber tooth tiger she sewed on, placing it right over her heart.
*End of Flashback*
Kim places a sunflower next to Trini's grave before tearing up. "I miss you Trini, I'll see you again someday, OK?" she took a breath before rising to her feet.
After composing herself, she walked back to her car before getting a call, which returned a sense of dread.
"Hello? Hey, Kat."
"Hi, how are you?"
"Good, what's up?"
"Tommy told me you were visiting Trini, he said he had thought about coming over there."
"I miss her, Kat." Kim said, choking up.
"Yeah, it still hurts."
"I wake up sometimes wondering if that pain will ever go away, but I know it'll come and go." she said.
"Yeah, and I think she would want us to keep going."
"I think so, too."
"Alright, I'll talk to you later, I got to run some errands and then Tommy & I will come visit Trini." said Kat.
"Alright, take care and tell Tommy I said hi."
"Will do Kim."
After hanging up, Kimberly gets in her car and drives away, but little did she know another tragedy was imminent.
Kat sets down the phone before Tommy yells from the Kitchen, "KAT, I NEED YOU!"
Kat, alarmed, rushed to the kitchen right as Tommy collapsed.
"Tommy!" she yelled as her kids came running. "Jenna, call 911!"
"OK, mom!" she said as JJ ran into the kitchen, "dad!" he said as he fell to his knees.
Sirens blared as an ambulance raced to the hospital after picking up the legendary ranger.
A few hours passed before Adam, Zack & Billy entered the waiting room where they found Aisha and Tanya with Kat and Tommy's kids.
"Aisha, Tanya, we got here as fast as we could, is Tommy alright?" asked Zack as he walked up with Adam & Billy.
"We're not sure, they're doing everything they can to help him," said Tanya.
"Did Jason, Kim, or Rocky get here yet?" Billy asked, knowing they would dart here at a moment's notice.
"Aisha's been trying to reach Jason, she called Rocky, he's on his way." said Tanya.
"What about Kimberly?" Adam asked.
"She's in the back with Kat," said Tanya.
"What about the other Dino Thunder Rangers?" asked Adam.
"Oh crap, how could I forget." she said, mad at herself for letting herself forget to call them.
"Hey, don't feel mad at yourself, it's a very emotional and scary situation, I don't think any of us are in a good state of mind at the moment." said Adam reassuring Aisha.
"I guess you're right, everything's just boiling right now, all I want is for Tommy to be OK." she said,
"He will, it's Tommy, he has to be," said Billy.
"Guys." a familiar voice said before Billy, Zack & Adam turn back and there's Rocky with TJ, Cassie, Ashley, and Justin.
"Rocky." said Zack.
"Hey, sorry I was running a lil late, I ran into some old friends." said Rocky referring to the Turbo Rangers.
"Rocky told us what happened, is Tommy alright?" TJ asked.
"We're waiting to find out, we're all hoping he's OK," said Tanya.
"Of course he's OK, it's Tommy, that man will live forever." said TJ confidently.
"I just got a text from Trent Mercer, he's reaching out to the other Dino Rangers," said Aisha.
Ashley and Cassie walked over to Jenna & JJ.
"Hey, how are you kids holding up?" Cassie asked.
"Is Dad gonna be OK?" Jenna asked, clearly scared for her father.
"He will, I'm sure of it." said Ashley.
"Promise?" JJ asked.
"I wish we could, kiddo." said Cassie.
"Oh." said JJ.
"But, know that no matter what happens, he'll always be with us." said Cassie.
"She's right, no matter what happens, he's always with us." said Carlos.
This did make the kids feel a little better, but nobody was still ready for what was about to happen.
Kat walks out, clearly shaken up.
"Mom." Jenna said, getting out of her seat. "Is dad OK?"
"Sit down." she said to her daughter, fighting back tears.
"Tommy suffered a heart attack, they tried to…" She chokes up, alarming the others. "They did the best they could, but it wasn't enough to save him."
Everyone's hearts dropped, nobody could believe the news they had just received. Tommy, the legendary ranger, the man of five Ranger forms, their closest friend, their leader, their mentor, gone.
Jenna and JJ ran into their mom's arms crying.
Aisha and Tanya started crying as the guys sat down in disbelief.
TJ buried his face in his arms, Carlos hung his head, Billy, Zack, Adam, and Rocky consoled Tanya, Ashley, Cassie, and Aisha as well as each other. Justin collapsed to his hands and knees before letting out a sorrowful cry, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Several minutes went by before the Rangers went to Tommy's room where they found a visibly devastated Kimberly next to his bed, holding his hand, her heart broken, whilst singing softly, choking on every word.
"Down the road, we never know
What life may have in store
Winds of change will rearrange
Our lives more than before...
But you'll never stand alone, my friend
Memories will never die
In our hearts, they'll always live
And never say... goodbye."
Zack walked up to Kim before putting his hand on her shoulder.
Kim looked at her friend before getting up and hugging him, losing it in the process, bawling as the others walked up to the bed.
At Hayley's Cyberspace
Ethan rams his arm into the wall, almost cracking it, tears roll down his cheek. "No, Dr. O. This can't be."
Hayley in tears walks up to Ethan before hugging him, "I know, I can't believe it either." she said. "None of us can."
"Damn it." said Connor as he sat at a table. "Why, why Dr. O? Why did it have to be him?" he asked, choking up, his body shaking as he fought back tears.
Trent sits down on the stage next to Kira, who's visibly beside herself.
"Kira." said Trent.
"49, how? Why?" she asked as she fought back tears. "One of the best teachers, mentors, heroes, friends I've ever known. How does this happen to someone at 49 years old?"
Trent puts a comforting arm around Kira as she starts to break. "People don't just die so young." she said, her heart ripping apart.
"He was a great man, just, I can't believe it either." said Trent as he teared up. "Nobody should die this young," he said.
"This sucks, this really sucks." said Ethan as he took a step back from Hayley.
Connor took a deep breath before getting up.
"Connor." said Kira as his friend left the building clearly upset, Haley who tried to console Connor tries to go after him, but he gets on his bike and rides away.
Kira, Ethan and Trent run out, "Where did he go?" Kira asked.
"I think you know where." said Hayley.
Back at the hospital
As everyone begins to leave Tommy's room they are met by an old friend, Jason, rushes down the hall.
"Jason," said Billy.
"Sorry, I tried getting here sooner, but I was stuck in traffic, my phone died, so I had to charge it on the way here, is he OK?" Jason asked.
"He's gone," said Billy.
Jason's heart dropped, his jaw hung open, time seemed to stop, as he tried to process this tragic news before heading into Tommy's room where he found his best friend lying still, his body pale.
"Tommy." he said before walking up to Tommy.
"They tried saving him, but they couldn't, it was too late." Kimberly said as she walked up to Jason.
Jason placed his left hand on Tommy's arm as he looked at the man he fought side by side with, the man he knew, the man who was his best friend for 30 years. The thought of Tommy dying never crossed his mind or any of their friends, nobody ever truly believed that he would one day pass away.
Jason lowered his head, said a prayer before turning to Kimberly who broke down crying, prompting Jason to hug her as he fought back tears.
Everyone remained at the hospital for hours, trying to wrap their heads around this tragedy, but after some time passed, they left one by one heartbroken, lost in a world without Tommy Oliver.
As they departed, Jason remembered the Dino Rangers, so he decided to see how they were doing.
Once Jason pulled up to Hayley's cyberspace, Hayley recognizing him outside ran out.
"Jason." she said, surprised to see Tommy's long-time friend.
"Hey, how are you holding up? I know you and Tommy were close."
"Yeah."
"I'm sorry, I wish there was something I could do," said Jason.
"So do I, I've been trying to wrap my head around the idea of him being gone. We created the Dino gems, he entrusted Connor, Ethan, Kira & Trent in saving the world."
"I remember meeting them, are they OK?" Jason asked.
"They're hurting just as much as I'm sure you and your team are."
"Where are they?" he asked.
"They went after Connor, he ran off upset."
"Any idea where he could've gone?" Jason asked.
At the soccer field
Connor is kicking balls into the net one at a time, trying to keep his mind off of Tommy, while Kira, Trent, and Ethan watch from the sidelines.
After one ball hits the rail and smacks Connor in the face, his friends come running.
"Connor! Are you OK?" Kira asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine," he said before getting up. "Man, this sucks!" He kicks the soccer ball, sending it past the net, off a tree, into the air before it is caught by Jason.
The four Dino Rangers turn around as Jason walks up.
"Hey." said Jason.
"Jason," said Kira.
Jason throws the ball back to Connor, which he catches.
"What are you doing here?" Connor asked.
"I came to check on you guys, after all, you are Tommy's teammates." he said.
"He was more than that, he was our friend," said Connor.
"Correct, you are. But if you think you're alone, trust me you're not, we're all hurting, don't be afraid to talk about it." said Jason.
"I just can't believe he's gone, and so young." said Connor.
"Nobody can, it's a loss that I never could've seen coming. A world without him was and is unfathomable," said Jason.
"He taught us a lot, he helped us become heroes," said Kira.
"You already were, and he knew that, he saw something in you that you didn't realize was there. He saw 3 teens, with attitude. 3 teens, who had potential, who could save the world, and you did, he trusted you, you proved to be great heroes, he's proud as are all your predecessors and successors." said Jason. "Please know, we meant the world to him, just as he meant the world to all of us. My team and I helped pull him out of a dark place, together we worked together to protect this world and the people who love so much."
"He was amazing, he really was," said Trent. "He helped pull me out of a dark place too, and I'm so grateful for that, and him."
"I don't know what to do in a world without him, but I know somehow I'll push through, we'll push through." said Ethan.
"We will, and remember he'll always be with us in spirit, he is never truly gone." said Jason.
"Thanks, Jason, seriously," said Connor.
"If you ever need anything, don't hesitate to call," said Jason.
"Will do, and thanks," said Kira.
"We'll be OK, I promise," said Jason.
The four Dino Rangers walk up and one by one, Jason hugs them before taking off on his motorcycle.
Meanwhile, at Billy's lab.
Billy is going through his stuff when Aisha walks in.
"Billy."
"Hey, what's up?"
"I've been going through memories, I just can't believe he's really gone," said Aisha.
"Yeah, neither can I. Tommy was, he was always there for others, and he always had time to listen. He cared deeply about us, just as much as we cared about him." said Billy, making Aisha tear up.
"Yeah, yeah." she said.
"We'll be alright, and so will he," said Billy.
Aisha nods before hugging Billy as she starts crying.
Elsewhere, at Ernie's bar.
TJ, Carlos, Cassie, Ashley, Justin, and Tanya are having drinks.
"This feels like a nightmare that I'm trying so hard to wake up from," said Tanya.
"Yeah, it just feels so unreal, like how can this be? How can Tommy be gone? And so young." said Carlos.
"It's not fair, it's just so unfair." said Ashley as she tears up. "He was the best."
"49, why? Why him? Why Tommy?" Justin asked, "Nobody should die that young, nobody." he said, choking up.
"He was a great friend, a great person, I just wish this wasn't real." said Cassie.
"I don't know how to even process a reality without Tommy, all the years I knew him I couldn't imagine a world without him, and now we're in it." said TJ. "This, this just hurts so much, man I'm gonna miss him."
Cassie puts a hand on TJ's hand, "we all will, but he'll be with us in our hearts."
"Yeah, yeah we will." said TJ.
At the site where their command center was, Rocky and Adam are looking into the distance.
"This doesn't feel real at all, nothing about this feels right. He should still be here." said Rocky.
"Yeah, I don't know what I'm gonna do in a Tommy-less world, life is not gonna feel the same again without him." said Adam.
"I wish there was a way we could bring him back, but we can and that stinks, he was such a great man." said Rocky.
"One thing that does bring some comfort is knowing he's with his brother," said Adam.
"And Trini, he missed them so much." said Rocky.
"We all do," said Adam.
Back at Kat's house
She is having a drink when there's a knock on the door, after she opens the door she finds Kim.
"Hey Kim, come in," said Kat.
Kim walks in.
"Are you going OK?" said Kat.
"I'm happy he found you, but…"
"What?" Kat asked.
"A big part of me regrets what I did, leaving him for a guy I didn't even end up staying with."
"Wait, what?"
"I left Tommy for a man I thought was the one." She turns to Kat. "Only to break up like several years later."
"Kim…"
"I'm conflicted, I am happy for you guys, but I'm so regretful for how I just ended things, and I wish I hadn't, at least not how I did it." she chokes up. "I still have so much love for him, he was my first love, and I let him go."
"Kim, he never stopped loving you. Yeah, you broke his heart, but that never changed anything, I think he loved us the same."
"I think you're right, but I never said anything because I was embarrassed and ashamed of how I…" she fights tears. "I'm sorry I…"
"Don't, it's OK. You don't have to apologize, he never, ever once held that against you. I'm sad that you never talked about it, and I know you wish you did."
"I do, and I should've told him, but I never did."
"I mean, you still found someone after, right?"
"Yeah, but I just can't help but regret how I did things, if anything I should've done it in person." said Kim.
"He never put any blame on you, or anyone, you two always had a special bond and that never changed, he forgave you a long time ago, long before Trini, his brother died, long before we graduated. He always had nothing but nice things to say about you, and so did I, he was never mad, ever. If he was here he'd tell you, you will always be one of his best friends, you will always be his first love, his first kiss, you'll always be the one that saved him from darkness, just like you guys saved me. You know as well as I do, we would never hold a grudge, he would've never stayed mad, he loved us, and some stupid breakup would never change that. I know you regret hurting him, but know that he knew you never meant to hurt him."
"I, I feel so foolish, I should've talked to him a long time ago. Then again, he would tell me that it was all water under the bridge a long time ago." said Kim.
"Yeah, he would," said Kat. "But don't think he doesn't know, because somehow I feel like he's listening, I feel like his spirit is still with us."
Suddenly, the lights flicker.
"Whoa, I feel, I think you're right."
Kat nods, "He'll never truly be gone, he's with us in our hearts and memories forever until the end of time."
"He was a great friend." said Kim as tears roll down her cheeks. "I'm gonna miss him so much."
Kat hugs Kimberly as they both break down in tears. "Me too, me too, he'll always love us, and we'll always love him."
Kim nods in agreement as her and Kat hug and cry. But while they do, the spirit of Tommy appears behind Kimberly, and Kat, who opens her eyes sees him for a second, smiles before he disappears.
At the cemetery
Zack kneels before Trini's grave, "Trini, man I wish you were still here, we could use you right now." He chokes up, "I'm sure you're glad you have company now, you're not alone." He takes a breath as he fights tears, "You and Tommy were the best friends I ever had, I think about you often, and I miss you so much, I will always love you guys." Zack wipes his eyes as cries before a hand touches his left shoulder.
Zack looks back and there stands Trini's spirit. Once Zack rises, Trini says, "It's OK, we're both at peace, but never forget we're always with you." She hugs Zack, as he bursts into tears.
At Kat's house.
Kim steps back as she takes a breath before letting out a gasp when Trini's spirit appears before her.
Trini walks up to her friend before Kim hugs her, crying all over again.
"He's with you, and that comforts me, you're alone anymore." said Kim.
"You'll never be alone, I promise," said Trini before motioning behind Kim.
Kim turns back as Kat steps back, fighting back tears.
Kim breaks down further, sobbing as she hugs Tommy's spirit.
Tommy invites Kat over, and she joins the embrace, she starts crying heavily in the process.
Trini's spirit visits each of her friends, telling them she and Tommy are always with them.
An emotional Billy hugs his friend's spirit, tears flood Aisha's face, who hugs Trini afterwards.
Elsewhere, near the bay, Jason stands in the moonlight, tears flood his face as he thinks about his best friend.
"Tommy, the world is not gonna be the same without you, my friend. You were the best, you were my best friend, and I love you, my brother. I hope you gave your brother and Trini the biggest hug imaginable, I hope you're at peace, watch over us, we'll miss you." Jason feels a hand touch his back, when he turns around there stands Trini's spirit.
Jason looks in disbelief before Trini hugs him, "We'll always be here, if you ever need us, our hearts are connected no matter where we go." Trini steps back, "We love you guys."
"We love you too." Jason says as he chokes up before he feels a hand touch his right shoulder.
Jason looks back, and there's nobody, when the turns back Trini is gone and Tommy's dagger is on his motorcycle.
Jason looks confused before picking it up, once he realizes what this means he looks at the stars. "Until we meet again." Jason starts playing the dagger/flute.
A week later, a memorial for Tommy Oliver is held attended by friends, family, and every Ranger team from Mighty Morphin, to Ninja Steel, as well as a counterpart team of the Mighty Morphin Rangers.
"I would like to start by saying, thanks for coming, I think Tommy would be touched by the outpour love over the past week." said Jason. "Words have been thrown around all week, from legend, friend, mentor, icon, and even hero, all ring true. Tommy was a kind man, he was a man who was dragged into the darkness only to be led back out by five teenagers with attitude. His time as the Green Ranger was short, a flame had extinguished, but a white light shined down and from it emerged the White Mighty Morphin Power Ranger. He later would be promoted to Red Ranger as a part of the Zeo Power Rangers in a battle against the machine empire. Tommy then led the Turbo Rangers once again as a red ranger before passing the torch to TJ Johnson. After graduating, he went to college, learned about the dinosaurs, and then he created the dino gems. But before the time for the Dino Rangers to come, he led a team of 10 red rangers against the last remains of the machine empire, myself, Tommy, Aurico, TJ, Andros, Leo, Carter, Wes, Eric, and Cole fought to stop the rise of Serpentera. Tommy would soon work at Reefside High where he picked three people, three students to become the Dino Thunder Rangers, Connor McKnight, Ethan James, and Kira Ford came together alongside Tommy, and a former evil ranger who was much like Tommy, dragged into the darkness, only to be pulled out, and it is fitting that Tommy was a part of the team did that. He documented the history of the Power Rangers in what is known as the Legacy of Power, after many team-ups, a legendary war, and almost 30 years of being a ranger, and 49 years of life, his story came to a tragic end. Tommy loved this world, Tommy loved the great people on it, every civilian, every ranger, ally, he always fought to protect what he cared about. Tommy was a hardworking man, but he always had time to help someone in need. No matter what problems people were going through he'd listen, he treated everyone with respect, and they showed that respect to him in turn. I've had many conversations with our friends and anyone who met Tommy, not just over the past week, but over the past almost 30 years, nobody ever had anything bad to say about him. We loved him, and he loved us, nobody could imagine a world without Tommy, it really did feel like he'd live forever, but in a way that's true. Because he will live forever in our hearts, our memories, he will live forever as a part of history. As I said he cared about his friends, he loved being with us, I was second in command, but yet it didn't matter because we always felt like we were equals. Billy, Zack, Trini, Aisha, Tanya, Rocky, Adam, TJ, Carlos, Ashley, Cassie, Justin, myself, Kim, Kat, Connor, Kira, Ethan, and Trent have had the joy of knowing such a wonderful man, that's just his fellow rangers. I'm gonna go back a bit, and talk about some of his other connections with his friends. Starting with Trini, those two were like brother and sister, he always had her back, and she always had our back like she had ours. Everyone who knew Trini, knew just how great of a human being she was, she is beloved even years after her tragic death at only 27 years, she remains in our hearts to this day and will until our time comes. His brother, he and his brother were born but adopted separately, Tommy was raised an Oliver while his brother David was raised a Trueheart. We lost David in 2001, the same year we lost Trini. Their deaths were so close together that it crushed Tommy, he lost two special people, two very important people to him. But it was their love that kept him going, he knew had them in his heart, and he had us and our shoulders to cry on like we had his. Kimberly Hart…." Jason chuckles, "I can make 100 jokes about those two making out at the bar, but I won't because, honestly, it was more than just kissing. They, man they loved each other, but something happened, another love stepped in, and stole her away. But they remained close even after all these years, he never hated her, he never held it against her, I know she felt scared to talk about it, and maybe a part of that is because she didn't want to bring those negative feelings back if there were any, that's what I got out of our conversation the other day. Kim, you always had a special place in his heart, and I know you had a special place in your heart for him."
Kim chokes up, nodding in agreement.
"Kat, you made Tommy so happy, you gave him two beautiful kids, and Tommy I said this all those years ago, and I mean it, if anything happened, I would make sure that those kids grow up to be good kids. You were already on the right track. I love you brother, you were my best friend, this world won't be the same, but you're in our hearts forever. Once a Ranger, always a ranger, you will always be a legend, you will always be our Green, White, Red, and Black Ranger, god bless you, my friend, we love you, and we'll miss you, may god rest your soul, until we meet again, may the power protect you, and rest in peace."
One by one, some of Tommy's friends got up to speak.
"Tommy loved this planet, he loved all the good people on Earth, he loved life. He was dedicated to protecting those he cared about from evil, whether it was Rita Repulsa, Lord Zedd, Ivan Ooze, the Machine Empire, or Mesogog, he gave everything he had, and managed to walk out a hero. And even if he didn't walk out alive, he would still be hailed as a hero for his bravery, for standing up for good and doing what he could to defeat evil. Today, we honor a marvelous man. I was grateful to be his wife, he gave us two beautiful children, Jay and Jenna Oliver. Kiddos, you made your father and me proud, he loved you." Kat chokes up, "Your father loved you just as much as I do, you are his shining stars, and he couldn't have been more happier to be your father as I am to be your mother. Hold him close to your hearts and remember he is always with us no matter where we go."
"Tommy was my first love, and one of my best friends. Even after we split, we remained very close. I'm going to miss him just as much as I miss my dear friend Trini. Trini and Tommy had a Brother Sister like relationship, Trini was special, Tommy was special, and knowing that they're reunited does give me some comfort. But, despite that, I do wish he was still here. We all wish he was still here, but the sad truth is nothing lasts forever except the legacies those we loved, leave behind. We have to honor them, remember them, celebrate them, and ensure that their memory & legacy is preserved forever. Tommy, Trini, I promise your legacies will live forever." said Kimberly.
"I think Tommy's death is a reminder of how suddenly a life can end, you might be able to live for 100 years or more, but it's not guaranteed." said Billy.
"Tomorrow, tomorrow isn't guaranteed, that's why we have to make the most of what time we have here," said Adam.
"You never know when someone you love is gonna go, that's why you spend as much time as you can with them." said Zack.
"Never be afraid to tell someone how much you love them, because who knows it might be the last time you see them." said Aisha."
"Love, respect, and honor those who've been good to you, and they will do the same in return. Tommy embodied that, and we're gonna miss him." said Tanya.
"He was a wise man, he was one of the smartest people I knew, I felt honored not only being his ally, his teammate, or his comrade, I am honored to have been his friend. And to me, he was one of my closest friends." said Rocky.
"The hardest thing about life is losing someone you love, especially if said person is really close to you." said Trent.
"Tommy was more than our teacher, our mentor, and our leader, he was our friend. He was our confidant, we could talk to him about anything, and he'd listen." said Ethan.
"He would listen, he would talk to them, and do what he could to help, and 9 times out of 10 it worked. He never wanted anyone to have a bad day, but he knew that we all had our bad days, and he would try to make it better. He was never too busy to help, he would always take time out of his day to help those in need, and for that I thank him." said Kira.
"I learned how to be a leader from him, I also learned how to be a hero from him. He believed in us because he knew we could save the world, and together we did. Despite every battle, and every heartache, Tommy, it was an honor." said Connor.
"Tommy always felt like someone who was incapable of dying. I never, ever thought about the real possibility that he would die one day. He was someone I respected, someone who I admired, he was an awesome person in every sense. If you had the chance to meet him, you would know just how incredible Tommy truly was." said TJ.
"Death may be a part of life, but it's a hard part of life that we must go through at some point. Everyone here has lost someone, someone close, someone special, someone important. He was a true hero, a Hall of Fame-worthy individual, a loving father, a loving husband, a loyal ally, and a dear friend." said Andros.
"I had the honor of fighting alongside him, we fought the remaining members of the machine empire, he led us into battle more than once. Tommy, it was a true honor to fight by your side." said Carter Grayson.
"Our world lost an amazing person, but heaven gained a legend, Tommy fly high my friend, we'll never forget you." said Bulk.
"We bullied him and so many others, we regret those days, but I am thankful that Bulk and I got a chance to grow, and we got to make up and become friends." said Skull.
"Our hearts are broken, there is now a void in our lives that can never be filled. Tommy, we love you, and we're gonna miss you so much. I hope you're up there in peace, looking down, smiling with Trini and David. I know we'll meet again, but until then, farewell my friend." said Hayley.
"Tommy, you were a great hero, and a great person. Things won't be the same with you, but, we will always have you in our hearts and memories. Tommy's candle will never burn out as long as we remember and honor him, thank you for everything." said Alpha 5.
"I got to meet him when I was a small child, my mother adored him, she adored this team she was on. They were her friends, he was a brother to her, she loved him, and he loved her. Tommy, mom, thank you for everything you've done for others and this planet. We are truly lucky to have had you in our lives, we'll never forget you, I promise." said Minh Kwan.
"His job here is finished, while he died young, he did more with that time in 49 years than many of us will do in 100. Tommy, you did leave too soon, and while we wish you were still here, we can be comforted by knowing you're in a better place, and as long as time goes on, you will always be in our hearts." said Leo.
"You gained your wings, spread them, and fly high. We'll see you again some day, rest in peace." said Wes.
"May the power protect you, may the power protect us all in these hard times. Remember this, this isn't goodbye, it's see you down the road." said Gia Moran.
As their friends grieve, Tommy and Trini watch from heaven when David walks up from behind and puts his arms around their shoulders.
"Tommy." Tommy, Trini, and David look back and there's Zordon. "You have lived a great life, know that everyone will be OK, you're always with them, and they'll make it through this as they've done many times."
"Let's rest." said Trini.
Tommy nods, "Everyone, we'll wait for you, live great lives, and we'll see you again, see you down the road." said Tommy.
Tommy and Trini look back before walking together into heaven, where they rest.
Each Ranger team walks up to Tommy's casket before saluting their deceased comrade, they say their goodbyes and leave a flower in his casket.
Jason, TJ, Rocky, Connor, and Kimberly walk up with a morpher in hand.
Jason places Tommy's White Ranger morpher by his left shoulder, TJ lays Tommy's turbo morpher by his left arm, Rocky lays Tommy's Red Zeo Ranger morpher by his right arm, Connor lays his Black Dino Ranger morpher by Tommy's right shoulder, and then an emotional Kimberly takes a long look at Tommy's Green Ranger morpher before laying it on his chest, then she puts saba in Tommy's hands and his dagger next to his Green Ranger morpher, and afterwards she kisses him on the forehead. After Kimberly turns around, Kat hugs her as they grieve their friend's death.
Their hearts may be broken, but they know the memories of Tommy will comfort them, and help them move forward. After the funeral, Tommy is laid to rest, but the tributes continue.
A bust of Tommy's head is unveiled at Reefside High, which Connor sets on a table next to Tommy's classroom.
Tommy's helmets are put on display at Ernie's juice bar, and his friends Billy, Zack, Adam, Rocky, Aisha, and Tanya hang a picture of Tommy by the bar next to a picture of their other late friend Ernie.
The Turbo Rangers set up a memorial where their command center last stood. TJ, Justin, Carlos, Ashley, and Cassie put their arms around each other as they look at Tommy's picture, the flowers, and candles around his picture.
Kat, Jenna, and JJ walk into the Dino lab where Kat finds the black dino gem before sitting down, closing her first as she tears up.
Jenna and JJ hug their mother as they grieve their father's death.
At Kim's house, Kimberly stitches a green dragon, a white tiger, a red star, a red car, and a black Brachiosaurus on the back of her gymnastic suit. "You're always in my heart and memories Tommy, I'll never forget you, I love you."
At Jason's house, Jason puts Tommy's power coin on a shelf in his room next to his power coin. "Look over us Tommy, I'll see you again someday, my friend."
Despite their broken hearts, the memories and love of Tommy keeps them going, knowing one day they'll be reunited with him.
