Tekken: About the Story – Chapter 2 – Starving

An indefinite time after the first chapter's events…

It was a rainy afternoon, the raindrops sounded like an epilogue for what had happened to Kazumi Mishima. The ones present at the temple for the funeral were for the most part businessmen and partners from Mishima Zaibatsu. It was also possible to see family members and closest friends which by the way were not too many. Jinpachi Mishima, Heihachi himself, Kazuya and Wang Jinrei were also present.

The people present one by one lit incense before the altar waiting for the Buddhist monk to recite the sutra and so it was done. During the prayer, it was possible to see Kazuya crying bitterly nonconformist with what happened with his mother even without having the full knowledge from what really had occurred. Jinpachi remained with his head low in a more discreet way of mourning, trying to understand what would make Kazumi to die that way. Would Heihachi's story version about her being aggressive to the point of showing an alter ego completely different from the personality their knew actually make sense?

After the prayer and being taken to another room where they could eat and drink, the few friends and acquaintances paid their condolences trying to please with sums of money delivered inside envelopes to help to pay the funeral costs even knowing that money would not be a problem for that family. The Hachijou family members had not attended for some reason which could be clear, because Kazumi would be the cause of all that happened. After that moment of pure education, the family moved to the place where Kazumi's body would be cremated and without giving too many details about its rites, everything ended into a night where the rain turned into a temporal and a limousine waited for the entire family in front of the buildings.

"Father, could you take Kazuya home with you? I have a place to go." Said Heihachi waiting for his family to enter the Luxury. For some reason, he seemed to have matters to be dealt with involving someone who would not seem to be from the family. The sky was dark and even so, there was a pub not too far away opened for business even with that weather and time.

"Son, you are not guilty for what happened to Kazumi, we shall rest." Jinpachi tried to comfort his son for what occurred and in the same time he would not let go of his grandson which hardly could swallow his cry.

"Dad... will you be all right? Will I also lose you?" Kazuya spoke between sobs trying to keep a dialogue even on that condition. He was instantly hugged by his grandfather Jinpachi and noticed a cold look into his own father's eyes, which intended to answer with a few words trying to find humanity in his son that was born from his wife that had the Devil Gene.

"It is not about guilty; you and the boy need rest more than me." Heihachi answered his father walking to the opposite direction from the car with an opened umbrella while the other two started to enter the car. "Kazuya, there is no such word as "winning" without the word "losing". But you will not lose me." Heihachi finished his words still walking slowly on the way to the establishment which was open that night without letting anyone else notice that he was walking that way.

The limousine left, inside it, Kazuya was hugged with his grandfather Jinpachi on one of the back seats. The boy was haggard while even trying to give the best attention to him and care Jinpachi could not stop imagining what was occurring to his son and gazed into one of the car windows with his eyes wandering over the storm. The car from the inside was like a typical limousine saw in movies.

In a few blocks away from the moving car there was Heihachi entering the mysterious bar. After opening the entrance sliding door, a friend was waiting not so much happy with the situation. "You chose just today to talk about that matter, Heihachi?" said Wang Jinrei suspicious with the actions from his declared best friend's son. "We do not have time to waste to settle it other day, Jinrei." Answered Heihachi looking for a place to sit down.

The bar was very traditional, there was a stand very simple and above it we could find a few bottles and small sake cups. The color from the establishment walls was light yellow and its stand was dark brown. Its benches were tall and rounded with black leather seats. The attendant was most of the time away from the two as for not to hear their talk knowing that it would not be convenient to him and that high-ranking people would be involved in the affair. His appearance was of an old man with gray hair and bad shave, besides being the attendant, it seemed he was the establishment owner and know more than he should.

"I told you; my father is a threat. The company being run by him can end up going bankrupt." Said Heihachi to Jinrei feeling free to serve Jinrei with the sake bottle and taking one of the two sake cups to him, waiting for Jinrei to accept his offer. "So? True friends use to drink sake together, is it not? Hahaha." Heihachi said laughing waiting Jinrei to serve him on his place, and so he did shake his head for some reason, maybe because Heihachi did not respect the mourning time.

After the toast and drinking the first sip… "I will be me who will stop him, once and for all!" Heihachi insinuated that he would need to stop his own father for some reason apparently related to the company. Jinrei seemed to rejoice with that at the moment, for years Heihachi had manipulated him making him to believe that his best friend was actually a threat that should be stopped for some reason. "So, what is the plan?" asked Jinrei to Heihachi believing blindly that Heihachi would have good reasons to make the choices que would make in the future.

Months after...

Honmaru, that was the name of a temple belonging to Mishima. It was an ancestral temple used for worship which has a large golden Buddha statue on the top floor. The Temple was a two-tiered pagoda located on a Mishima private residence. It was located at the edge of a cliff within a forest, nearby to a waterfall. The residence was known as a Mishima Estate. It was on Mishima Estate where Honmaru was located. The estate consisted of large buildings and had included the dojo where Devil Kazumi attacked Heihachi. The truth is, it was Mishima's main residence instead of the mansion introduced earlier as a place that was less wide.

"I came to visit you in your new home." Heihachi said inside an ambience which looked like a cave with lit torches around the place. In that place, Jinpachi was imprisoned by chains and seemed not to feed himself. The ambience was very dark besides the torches and Jinpachi's body condition was considered regrettable. "My own son brought me here to starve to death?" Jinpachi asked Heihachi's actions also asking himself in his own thoughts about Mishima Zaibatsu and how it was Kazuya.

"I will explain it to you. I have manipulated some people including from the business world to believe you were a bad influence. That way, I applied a coup into you and took everything it was mine by right, the Mishima Zaibatsu. But how did you end chained here? We trained together exactly here, the Honmaru dojo which is located above our own heads here and with the time I managed to dope you enough to bring you down here beneath the temple from our true home. The persons with guns that avoided you to run away after you regained your consciousness, they were paid by me. You know who I have manipulated against you for years? Your loyal friend Wang Jinrei which believed me. The Mishima Estate will be a better residence for me without you from prevent me to doing what I really want." Heihachi gave a long speech about how he had fooled the own father and used from his own tricks to steal what for him it was always his.

"I got it... So, some businessmen were involved into this. And the soldiers that I had beat to run away from here? They were actually Mishima Zaibatsu's men? How did you get the needed documents to the company I don't know, but considering that for years you have been manipulating including my best friend… How have you decayed, Heihachi! And Kazumi? She really tried to kill you? For what reason you would want to exterminate your own family one by one? Kazuya! If you touch a finger on my grandson, you will pay me!" Jinpachi chained and constantly being doped by Mishima Zaibatsu's soldiers was without energy and about to die.

"That is all true. Kazumi was a threat for all of us and now it only remains the demon's child. Does he have the Devil Gene just like his mother? All that it mattered to me was power and now I really have it, it makes sense to me now some words from Kazumi before she attacked me." Heihachi again spoke, but that time he was saying goodbye forever to the father he himself wanted to kill by starvation in the darkness beneath the temple from his own family. He then left knowing that his father was on his last moments of life to come back later and make sure that he was already dead.
