Regulus saw her for the first time when she was 5 years old and he was just a few months older than her. She was entering the front door of his home, and for the first time, he felt the night sky have a bright flame to help them in the darkest and coldest of nights.
She was the brightest star he has ever seen in the family of constellations.
His mother introduced her as the daughter of Cassiopeia Black the eccentric being in the family. And when he looked at her again, he knew that she was his.
When Orion came near him, he said "Sir, I want to be the lion that protects the flame of Ara."
Orion just nodded.
And that was that.
Next, he knew he was betrothed to Ara Cassiopeia Black. Their contracts were signed and him accepting her name, not even wanting to change as a Black tradition demands. She was already a part of his sky and that too an important one.
Not soon he realised that she had to leave, back to France where she lived with her old mother and a smart elf called Mippy. Even Kreacher was fond of her.
A single tear left his eye when she left him. Sirius adored her. His mother doted on her. Even his father liked her. She was perfect.
After that every summer he and his family visited her in France and every Christmas she came to London. She gave him the best gifts and he also tried his best.
They have many things in common. They both adored learning new things.
Books were their solace and they had a habit of sharing them and no one else.
One day just when he was about to leave for summer break in France. Regulus found the Black journals under his pillow, two identical black journals with Leo and Ara constellations together.
On the journal cover, the lion protected the altar from intruders who wanted to use it for nefarious purposes. Or that's what that 7-year-old interprets.
Little did he know that fate had something similar in mind.
Hermione became close to Bella, Andromeda and Narcissa.
Even with the age gap, the three sisters doted on her. Bella came up with the craziest ideas and with Hermione, she would execute them yet she protected her when things took a 360° turn. She was an avid protector of Hermione.
Andromeda told her about Hogwarts and different things, including muggles.
Narcissa pampered her to her heart's delight. Whenever the two met Narcissa loved to play with Hermione's wild curls. Narcissa and Lucius had later taken Hermione and Regulus under their wing when they sorted into Slytherin.
Alphard has played the role of a doted uncle and Cygnus is a kind and gentle one.
In the life of both yet in different capacities.
Where Regulus learned about the worthlessness of muggles, Hermione learned about their brilliant minds in art technology, science, literature etc.
They had a life of poles apart yet they were attracted to one another.
Every night they exchanged what they learned and discussed the pros and cons of the same. Soon Regulus learned tolerance and gained a sense of peace and Hermione had someone in her corner who increased her confidence and was her best friend.
Between their conversations, holidays, adventures and dreams Sirius Black III played the role of solemn protector. Due to this, he gained his mother's approval and his father's respect.
Dorea Potter was a regular visitor in France and Hermione's godmother, James, was her God brother. Both played together since they were toddlers.
Very soon Wulburga Black let loose her ideals and invited the Potters to dinner and that's how James met Sirius. Due to this a red-haired witch never had to part from her best friend and said best friend then became a close confidant of the duo. And we can also say he was also close to a majestic stag, a grim and a wolf as being a panther himself.

When Hermione turned 9 she had to leave France. She lost her mother but found one in London in her betrothed mother.
Cassiopia taught Hermione to be inquisitive, whereas Wulburga taught her to that knowledge to her advantage.
Cassiopeia taught Hermione to develop and Walburga taught her how to gain profit from her developments.
Cassiopia taught Hermione to be kind and have a fire, and Walburga taught her not to be naive and how to keep that fire burning and protect her loved ones.
In her life, Hermione learned from two mothers and a godmother and turned out to be the best of all three of them.
No one knew who her father was and no one cared. When Druella rose concerned towards the same, everyone shut her down including her daughters.
Ara was the life of the Black family. She even though living the farthest was the closest family member. She was the centre of their orbit with Regulus being the closest star.
Orion became her mentor and Alphard her guardian, Arcturus taught her magic and Malania taught her the etiquettes required of a witch of a noble family.
The day Sirius left for Hogwarts he promised to owl them both and because of Hermione, he kept it. Hermione guided the dog star and he was glued to the family. When the same witch met Remus Lupin she claimed him to be her brother and everybody accepted it. That day he had shed some tears for his family but not in anger but in love.
Remus gained not only love from his best friend he found the love of a sister, and a friend and even found a new set of parents who after some troubles and problems loved and respected him.
Ara Cassiopeia Black changed the future of the Ancient and Noble House of Black. When Kreature saw all this from the sideline he felt that he did the right thing and he was at peace.
Years later when the tradition of having elf heads on walls changed to having their portraits on walls. An old wrinkled elf with wise and happy lines told stories of master and mistress with such peace and reverence in his voice that every passerby stopped by him to listen to them. As Kreature was the first elf to have his portraits commissioned. One for the elf wing and one with his young master's family where the children were playing with the elf and Regulus and Ara (Hermione) smiling at their antics.
Everyone, in the end, had a smile on their even if they had to win a war to gain it.
