Chapter 4: Shining Through

Agent BM: Thx, and you got that right.

The next morning, after Honey got cleaned up she put on her clothes.

"Mom, do you have my jacket?" she asked.

"Yep, it's ready." Wanda answered.

She held up the jean jacket, which now had a picture of a bumblebee over the pocket, and on the back of it, it had the words, "Queen Bee" in black words.

"Mom, what'd you do?"

"Just added a little more touches."

Honey sighed, thanked her mom, and took the jacket.

Later on, she was wearing her new jacket to school. To her surprise, she got complimented on it by her classmates. And it felt good to be noticed and complimented. When Zeke saw her, he walked over to her.

"Hi, Zeke." she greeted.

"Honey, what happened to your jacket?" he asked.

"I had my mom do some customized changes to it. I told her to add the bee, but the Queen Bee was something she did on her own."

"You're still going with the bee theme?"

"Yes. I like bees, they're part of who I am. So they're staying."

"All right then. But the jacket does look good on you." Zeke complimented.

Honey smiled shyly.

"I'll meet you in the library for our tutoring after school."

"I'll be there." Zeke replied.

And they went separate ways. Leah and Madison were watching from a distance.

"You don't suppose that bumblebee is seducing my Zeke do you?" Madison asked.

"There's no way she'd have the guts." Leah replied.

Honey was sitting in class, without her headphones, when a couple girls asked her about her jacket.

"Where'd you get that jacket?" one wondered.

"I got it at the mall."

"Hey, you wanna sit with us at lunch?" another girl asked.

Honey's eyes lit up with delight.

"Sure, I'd like that." she answered.

At the end of the day, while on his way to the library, Zeke was stopped by Leah and Madison.

"Zeke, babe what are you doing?" Madison wanted to know.

"Going to the library."

"And we know who's there." added Leah.

"Zeke, please tell me you're not falling for that loser." pleaded Madison.

"Maddie, babe relax. I don't really like her. This is how we're going to pass English class." he told her.

He explained the plan to the girls, and they were on board.

"If it gets us an easy A, then I say keep on working her." Leah said.

Zeke smiled smugly, and continued to the library.

"There you are." said Honey, as Zeke walked in.

"Sorry, got a little distracted." Zeke replied.

They went through the lessons that were taught in class that day, and they worked on their assignment.

"So I saw you eating lunch with others today."

"Yeah, it felt good having someone to talk to." "

Hey, listen I really need to go now. Do you think you could finish this paper up?"

"I guess..."

"Great, you're amazing, Honey."

Zeke then playfully touched her arm, which made Honey blush. "

Thanks." And then Zeke left.

"Well I suppose I could finish this up for him. I mean he is cute."

As the days went by, Honey came more out of her shell. She spoke more, dressed a little more boldly, and the best part yet, she was finally making friends. Of course Honey's parents were equally delighted.

It was good for their daughter to be around her peers, and get out more often. When Honey got home from school one afternoon, she met up with her bees.

"Hey, guys." she greeted.

"Hey, Honey how was school?" asked Buzz.

"School was great. My new friends invited me to go with them to the movies with them on Saturday."

"Congratulations." said Bumble.

"Thanks. I forgot how much fun it was to have friends."

"See this was a good idea." Stinger told her.

"Yeah, it was."

Then she pulled out her schoolwork, and got started on it.

As the days went by, and Zeke's friends pulled up their grades.

"I can't believe it, it's been less than a month, and our grades have improved." said Zeke.

"Wasn't this a great idea?" asked Evan.

"You bet." Vincent replied.

"That loser's jacket may say "Queen Bee", but she's nothing but a worker drone." joked Madison.

They all laughed.
