Location - Remnant (RWBY)
Tsukasa stood on a cliff, seeing the bright lights of Vale down below. He sighed, remembering a universe where the same place was rubble after the events of the Vytal Festival. A timeline where the bad guys won here.
'Well, with any luck, the wheels of fate should be turning. I have faith that this time, things will be different!' He thought, before turning around to see Keith who had stumbled out from the bushes after hiding the Red Lion in a cave. It was dark, damp and formerly Grimm-infested, which made it the perfect place to hide an alien piece of technology away from prying eyes. Morever, the cave had a reputation for having a 100% chance of not returning if someone went inside, so that covered it.
'Or maybe not.' He sweatdropped, seeing the newly fledged Kamen Rider. 'What the hell was I thinking?'
Keith had changed out from his Paladin armor to a different outfit that was given by Tsukasa. Now, he wore a black shirt with a sword graphic on it, blue ripped jeans, and black combat boots. His Bayard was holstered on a chain that was fastened onto a belt loop on his pants. The PrimeDriver was strapped onto his waist and the Drakkensaber was holstered onto his back. Finally, to complete the look, he had a crimson longcoat with a bandolier slung over his left shoulder, said bandolier currently holding the Fullbottles that Tsukasa gave him.
"Okayyy..." Said Tsukasa, looking at Keith's outfit. "Not bad, considering the alternative." He shuddered, remembering Gentoku's outfit. "But you could ditch the Bandolier; it makes you stand out a bit. Also, why do you really need to wear two belts and fix your Rider Weapon on your back? And before you ask, have you heard of Hyperspace? It's what us Kamen Riders use to blend in and also store their gear as well."
"Hai…" Groaned Keith as he stored his gear in his hyperspace.
Tsukasa then clapped his hands before turning to Keith. "Okay, what was I saying? Oh, right! As I was saying to you all this time, an evil organization called Neo-Faust has currently been running rampant through here for the past couple of years. They've been experimenting on orphans in an attempt to create Super-Soldiers, creating new Hazard Grimm like that Raiju Grimm that you encountered, and also helping terrorist organizations like the White Fang cause chaos and terror throughout Remnant."
"Sounds like a bunch of terrorists to me." Remarked Keith. 'Perhaps I should find them and take them down once and for all.' While his outside perception of Neo-Faust was to be dismissive and consider them simply terrorists who deserved to be taken down a peg…
Inwardly though, he hated the Neo-Faust organization for causing such pain, harm and hurt to the people of Remnant. Especially after hearing their atrocities, which sounded similar to the Galra Empire, except worse. But he was also worried because he knew that they knew how things worked in Remnant. So he had to play it safe for now, until he understood how things worked here.
"Riiight…." Began Tsukasa. "So, anyway, I need you to enroll in a school here and become a Huntsman. That might help you find clues about Neo-Faust and how they got here. It may also help you find allies who will help you on this mission."
"Okayyyyy…" Began Keith. "So…..What's a Huntsman?"
"Huntsmen and Huntresses are the best and brightest warriors of Remnant, ranking higher than Kingdom police and even military, in terms of strength, and skill." Began Tsukasa. "There are four academies in total, each located in a different kingdom. These institutions accept graduates of primary combat schools, who showed enough promise and tenacity, to not only battle the Creatures of Grimm, but also protect their fellow man."
"Sounds pretty elite to me." Remarked Keith. "But are you sure that the people here are suited for taking down these Grimm? I mean, I'm a Paladin of Voltron, but even so, those Grimm ran me ragged in circles. I really need to think whether a single Huntsman can take down a Grimm, let alone a horde of them."
"For that very reason, trainees are grouped into teams, ensuring the continual development of communication, empathy, and teamwork; traits that are vital to any guardian of peace." Answered Tsukasa. "Each academy has its own methods of teaching, but the end result is the same; Huntsmen and Huntresses ready to make their own paths. Some will stay together as a team, others will move on to work alone."
"That makes sense." Interjected Keith. "After all, teamwork is important, and as you said, these Grimm cannot be taken down by a single person alone."
"Once finished with their training, Huntsmen and Huntresses are free to choose who they work for, as well as what kind of work they will do, through the use of mission boards. Allying with a particular Kingdom or village is entirely up to the individual."
"Sounds pretty wide-range." Remarked Keith. 'I wonder if I should choose a Huntsman as a career path.'
"But all are expected to serve humanity…" Said Tsukasa quietly. "and never succumb to the darkness."
There was a uneasy silence permeating the atmosphere after that statement…. Before Tsukasa clapped his hands to dispel it.
"Right! Well, let's see… Here's your identity card…" He handed Keith an identity card that read Keith Kogane, alongside his date of birth, blood type and other miscellaneous data. "...And here's some money…" He said, handing Keith a strange card. It was a red plastic card with a black magnetic reader strip on the back and a small notation on the front, similar to an ATM card. The symbol on front of it was an L crossed with two horizontal lines, similar to the Japanese yen. "And that's all, I guess."
"So… about the money…" Asked Keith, confused.
"This is Lien." Began Tsukasa, holding a card similar to Keith's except it was a light shade of magenta.
"...What?"
"The currency of this world." He sighed to a blank-eyed Keith. "Now, do you remember what I said to you earlier?"
"Right, try to get into school, don't be stupid, and for heaven's sake, don't just charge headfirst into any situation!" Snarked Keith.
"Good!" Remarked Tsukasa sarcastically. "Now, go on. Fly away, little birdy! I've got some calls to make, so I won't be coming now. See ya!" He waved goodbye as an Aurora curtain opened and he walked through it.
"Riiight… So I can do this all alone. Well, y'know what? Have it your way." Keith sighed before he walked down the slope towards the city of Vale, grumbling about Decade the way down.
After all…
What could go wrong?
Later...
Keith had entered the City of Vale and appeared in a small business-like district as he sat on a rooftop over the street, finishing off a sandwich.
"So, this is Vale? Seems pretty decent, looks a lot like a normal city back on Earth." Commented Keith, crumpling up the wrapper into a ball.
His thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the sound of glass shattering on the street just below. He looked down to see several men in black suits wielding red swords surrounding a girl who looked just barely in her teens. She wore a black and red dress with black tights and boots, along with a red hooded cape. He could also see she had black hair with red tips, but what really stood out was the large red mechanical scythe she carried casually over her shoulder.
She spun it around like a master before pointing it at the man who appeared in charge of the black-suited thugs, a man in a white suit and a black bowler hat with a cane in his hand and a cigar in his mouth.
"Get her!" The man ordered his thugs.
Keith was about to step in and help, knowing these guys were likely trouble, but the girl already made a move first. Her blade dug in the ground, she held onto the pole and spun around to deliver both her feet into the face of the first man who charged her. She pulled out her weapon as she landed when the other men tried to attack her, but she pulled on a trigger and fired what appeared to be a large gun built into the scythe, giving it an extra boost as she swung her scythe to strike another goon and send him flying. As she spun it, she brought the back of her weapon down on the back of a third guy, slamming him face first into the pavement.
"Ouch…" Keith winced slightly, but he also smiled at the show.
One goon pulled out a machine gun and shoot at her, but she zipped away with a boost of her own speed, dodging the gunshots before going on the attack herself to trip up the gun-wielding goon and dug her blade into the ground again to spin herself around and leap up to kick the falling man down before landing on her feet.
Keith couldn't help but give an impressive whistle. "Nice, she's good. Got some speed on her side, and that scythe-thing is pretty cool. Is she a Huntsman? But she looks like a kid. Better henshin and help her out before it's too late." He remarked before walking away from the edge.
"Well, Red…" His attention was caught by the goon's boss as he faced the girl. "I think we can all say it's been an eventful evening." He dropped his cigar on the ground and squashed the butt with his cane before aiming it at her. "And as much as I'd love to stick around, I'm afraid this is where we part ways."
His cane fired a large fire-like projectile at her, but she avoided it with a shot from her scythe that propelled her into the air just as the projectile exploded on the ground. She landed and looked to see the man had vanished.
The boss climbed up a fire-escape ladder to the top of a certain building, but just as he reached for the upper ledge, a red gloved hand grabbed his own. He looked up to see a visage that was half red, half yellow with a chain design on the yellow lens and a dragon head on the red lens.
"Hey, need a hand?" Kamen Rider Prime said before hurling him around to send the boss crashing into a smokestack, denting it. The man groaned as he pulled himself up to see the Kamen Rider who was smirking under his helmet. "Snazzy little performance, ganging up on a kid like that."
"Mind your own business, Halfbaked!"
"Pal, that is the weirdest insult I've ever heard and I've heard worse." Prime sweatdropped, the insult reminding him of "Halfboiled" from Kamen Rider W. Just then, the girl in red appeared on the rooftop as well, looking toward Prime in surprise. "Hey there, nice little show back there by the way." He greeted her casually.
"Um… thanks?"
However, their attention was caught by a large aerial transport that appeared over the side of the building, shining a spotlight on both of them.
"Huh, what do you know? Guess he had an escape plan all along." Prime commented sarcastically. The side door opened as the boss quickly climbed in before facing the pair with a smirk.
"End of the line, Red and Dual!" He held out a red crystal before throwing it at their feet.
"Really? He's throwing rocks?" Prime questioned. "Oi, that's your distraction? Talk about lame-O!"
"Watch out! That's fire Dust!" The girl exclaimed.
"Fire what?!" Prime questioned just as the man shot from his cane again at the crystal, causing it to explode violently, the smoke covering the entire roof.
However, neither Prime nor the girl were hurt as someone else had arrived on the scene. It was a young yellow-haired boy about 16 or so wearing a forest green jacket over a yellow t-shirt, ripped blue jeans and combat boots. The strangest thing was that he had a ring with a yellow gem embedded on his right hand. That ring was creating a yellow shield that blocked most of the damage.
"S-sugoi…" Prime was more than a little impressed while the girl next to him was awestruck.
He then made a gun shape with his ring hand to send several yellow-colored bolts at the transport, shaking it up quite a bit and knocking the man back.
"We got a Rookie Huntsman!" He told the pilot in the cockpit, who got up from her seat and forced him to take the controls.
The boy then clenched his palm before punching at the craft, sending a fist made of lightning at it, which hit the vessel's hull.
The three of them could scarcely make out a woman inside the ship as she stood just behind the open doorway. They couldn't see her face, but they saw her red skirt, long legs, and black heels. She then thrusted her palm forward to send a stream of fire the blonde kid's way, who created another shield to protect himself. The ground suddenly lit up and was about to explode, but Prime quickly ran to push him out of the way just before a column of flames arose from where he was standing.
"Oi, are you alright?" Prime asked as he helped the boy up.
"Yep, thanks to you." He remarked before a shriek resounded through the air as a black figure flew from an alley and landed right in front of the carrier.
The creature resembled the Nevermore Grimm that Keith had encountered earlier, except that it was about twice as tall as him with a humanoid body with arms ending in four-fingered claws, feathered wings, two legs ending in taloned feet and three horns protruding out of the bone mask just behind the eyes just like the Raiju grimm that he encountered earlier.
Prime sighed before giving instructions to the others. "Red, Lightning boy, take care of the carrier! I'll handle tall, dark and Grimm here!" He shouted before the Grimm tackled him off the building and onto the road below with the intention to slam him into the pavement. Luckily, Prime kicked the Grimm off him and landed on his feet. However, the Tengu Grimm continued to fly above him, preventing him from attacking it.
"Come on, birdbrain, fight me!" Shouted Prime. "Or are you too chicken?"
That did the trick as the Grimm let out a raucous screech before it dove down to rip the insolent kamen rider to shreds. However, Prime leaped up and used the Drakkensaber to slice off the wings of the mutant Grimm, sending it crashing heavily to the ground. The Grimm was stunned, but Prime knew that it would recover in some time.
"Okay, time to finish it!" Said Prime as he cranked the handle of the PrimeDriver several times, hearing the jingle from it.
"Ready, go!" said the driver just as the Tengu Grimm got up.
"..Chotto matte." Said Prime to the Grimm before he ran in the opposite direction. On the fifth step that he took, he leaped up into the air as chains ensnared the Tengu Grimm and started streaking down in a kicking position with his yellow foot, said foot surrounded in fire which took on the form of a dragon with its jaws wide open.
The Grimm shrieked and tried to escape from the chains, but it was too late as Prime's finisher stuck the Grimm right in the chest and came out through the other side.
"Voltech Finish! Yeah!" said the driver just as the Tengu Grimm exploded in a burst, dropping something behind. At the same time, the transport crash-landed and skidded to a halt on the street kicking up some dust in the process.
Prime picked up what the Grimm had dropped. It resembled the Raiju Grimm Fullbottle that he had except it had a Tengu design on it.
"What is it with these weird Grimm and their motif for mythological creatures?" Muttered Prime before he saw the downed carrier.
"Well, I'll better go catch them before they make a run for it!" Remarked Prime before he rushed over to check on the carrier. But he feared that he was too late.
Meanwhile...
Back on the roof, the yellow-haired boy was trying his best to protect him and the girl from the flames sent by the mysterious woman. However, he stumbled, his shield dispersing. The crime boss appeared again, this time with some more crystals.
"End of the line, Red and Yellow! And this time, no shield to protect you!" He shouted before throwing those crystals at their feet.
"Watch out! He's doing the fire Dust trick again!" The girl exclaimed.
"Seriously?! Just what is this guy's deal?! " The boy complained just as the man shot from his cane again at the crystals, causing them to explode, almost encompassing the whole roof.
However, neither the boy nor the girl were hurt as yet again someone else had arrived on the scene. This time, it was a woman with blonde hair, fair skin, green eyes under a pair of glasses. She wore a white long-sleeved top with a black and purple cape, a black pencil-skirt, black-brown stockings, and black boots. She held out what appeared to be a wand and projected from it a violet-colored glyph-like shield.
"Whoa…" The mystery boy was impressed while the girl next to him was in awe.
She then flicked her wand to send several purple-colored bolts at the transport, shaking it up quite a bit and knocking both of the people back.
"A real Huntress! Well, time to vamoose!" Said the boss as the transport closed up and prepared to leave.
"Not a chance!" Shouted the boy before he aimed with his forefinger right at the right wing.
"Storm Bolt Strike!" He yelled, pressing his thumb down, as he sent thunderbolts which dislodged part of it and caused the transport to careen out of control, finally crash landing and skidding to a halt on the street below.
As the woman stared at his incredible feat of power, she heard a slight squeal from the younger girl next to her. "You're a Huntress?! Can I have your autograph?!" She exclaimed with a wide grin and sparkling silver eyes. The other boy could only tilt his head in confusion at her excitement.
Before she could make a response, Prime appeared back on the rooftop, only this time he had exchanged the Chain Fullbottle with the Glider Fullbottle, which gave him a set of hang glider wings on his back and changed the armor from yellow to red with a red hanglider wing as the eyepiece. "Okay, so I have good news and bad news. Good news, the damage is only on the street, and no bystanders were hurt. So far, so good."
"That's a relief." The girl smiled as the woman gave a small nod.
"Bad news, the bad guys got away." Prime revealed just as he removed the Fullbottles from his driver and dehenshined from his Kamen Rider armor.
"Aw, what?" The girl complained, throwing her arms out.
"Yeah… just poof. Gone. No trace. Pretty weird." Keith said before turning to the blonde woman. So, what now?"
"Well, for one thing, she doesn't look too pleased at all." Muttered the other boy. "We're in biiiig trouble, that's for sure."
Later...
Before they knew it, all three sat at a table in a dark room with a single light shined over them as the blonde woman gave a lecture. The girl had the decency to look ashamed, the other boy appeared bored for the most part while Keith just nodded his head occasionally without saying a word. Granted, he could have just escaped with the Fullbottles as Kamen Rider Prime, but because he directly involved himself he was just as responsible as the girl next to him and the other boy so he decided to do this.
"I hope you three realize that your actions tonight will not be taken lightly." The woman, apparently named Glynda Goodwitch, scolded.
"They started it!" The girl exclaimed.
"Well, leave me out of it! I just tried to help you!" Sputtered Keith.
"Did it look like I needed your help?" Questioned the girl.
"Oi, oi, oi! If I hadn't been there, that boss would have given you the slip a long time ago!" Barked Keith.
"Hey! You didn't fare better than I did now, did ya? You let them escape!" Retorted the girl.
I was dealing with that freakish Grimm! Besides, I don't need to justify myself to a brat!" He said, crossing his arms and glaring at her.
The girl crossed her arms and glared at him in kind. "I am NOT a brat! Take it back! Take it back! Take it back!"
"Riiiight." Keith's voice was just laced with sarcasm as he said that, rolling his eyes as well. "You convinced me..."
"Sorry to interrupt this riveting argument, buuuut unlike these idiots..." The other boy said with a slight finger-wave, interrupting their argument.
"HEY!/OI!" They both snapped at him.
"I have no excuse." He continued, ignoring them. "I got in the fight, and the plane crashing was my fault."
Glynda gave a small sigh as she looked in the other boy's direction. "At least you're willing to accept responsibility." She then turned to the girl and Keith. "As for you, we did get the testament from the owner of that Dust shop and you helped to prevent a robbery. And cameras also caught you dealing with that Grimm and helping her out. If it were up to me, you'd all be sent home with a pat on the back…" The girl looked up with a smile, while Keith expected a catch that would come at any second. "And a slap on the wrist!" She snapped her wand at the table, causing the girl to wince and the other boy to startle, but Keith barely flinched, seeing that coming.
"But… there is someone here who would like to speak with the two of you." Glynda revealed, much to the girl's surprise, while the other boy frowned, even Keith raised an eyebrow. The woman cleared the way to reveal a man clad in a dark green suit with silver hair and brown eyes behind a pair of dark spectacles. He also carried three trays of cookies in his hands.
"Ruby Rose." He addressed the girl first. "You have silver eyes."
'Huh, didn't notice.' Keith only just noticed the girl, apparently named Ruby, had eyes that were indeed silver-gray.
"So, where did you learn to do this?" The man asked, as Glynda showed the footage of Ruby's fight on her tablet-like device.
"S-Signal Academy?" Ruby answered somewhat nervously.
"They taught you to use one of the most dangerous weapons ever designed?" The man continued to ask as Keith remained silent but listened anyway.
"Well… One teacher in particular." Ruby replied.
"I see." He set down the cookies in front of Ruby and the others, both exchanging eye-contact as Ruby helped herself to one, and then proceeded to eat all the others on her tray rather quickly.
"These things aren't laced, are they?" Keith asked with a grin, which caused Ruby to stop chewing before looking more than a little nervous and the other boy to frown at him. The man and Glynda merely stared at him. "Seriously? That was just a joke." Keith sighed before helping himself to one. "Hmm, not bad at all."
The man gave a small grunt before turning back to Ruby. "It's just that I've only seen one other scythe-wielder of that skill before. A dusty old crow."
"Thatsh mai unkle Kruw!" Said Ruby through a mouthful of cookies.
"Yikes, girl! Swallow before you speak or you're going to choke on your food!" Said the other boy before he reached for a cookie and started eating it. "I must say, these cookies are pretty decent, sir."
Ruby swallowed to speak clearly. "That's my Uncle Qrow. He's a teacher at Signal."
'Now ain't that a coincidence.' Keith thought as he continued to listen.
"I was complete garbage before he took me under his wing, and now I'm all like… hiya! Whoo! Ya!" Ruby made all sorts of bad martial arts sound effects and even gave chops with her hands for emphasis, causing Keith and the other boy to sweatdrop.
"So, I've noticed." The man said. "And what is an adorable girl such as yourself doing at a school designed to train warriors?"
"Well, I want to be a Huntress." Ruby answered in a serious tone of voice.
That got Keith's attention. 'Huntress? Like those guys Tsukasa told me about? They got schools to train them? SWEET!'
You want to slay monsters?" The man asked.
"Yeah, I only have two more years of training left at Signal, and then I'm going to apply to Beacon." Ruby explained. "See, my sister is starting there this year, and she's trying to become a Huntress, and I'm trying to become a Huntress, cause I wanna help people. And my parents always taught us to help others, so I thought 'eh, might as well make a career out of it'. I mean, the police are alright, but Huntsmen and Huntresses are just so much more romantic and exciting and cool and I just…" She gave a squeal like an adorable schoolgirl to show just how excited she was. "Ya know?"
Keith stifled a chuckle at the girl's excitement and the other boy shook his head while Glynda looked with a slightly confused expression, while the man's face remained unchanged. "Do you know who I am?"
"You're Professor Ozpin. You're the Headmaster at Beacon." Ruby answered.
"Well, dang…" The other boy commented.
"Impressive.." remarked Keith 'Something tells me that I might go to Beacon to become a Huntsman.'
The man revealed to be Ozpin gave a half-smile. "Hello."
"Nice to meet you." Ruby nodded, not sure whether to be nervous or excited, so she was probably both.
"You want to come to my school?" The headmaster asked.
"More than anything." Ruby said without a hint of doubt or hesitation in her voice, showing how much she really wanted it.
Ozpin shared a look and a smile with Glynda, who rolled her eyes slightly before he gave his response. "Well, okay."
Ruby's silver eyes sparkled, and she gave a grin widened to dumbfounded proportions.
"But, before we get started on that, I feel it is best to address our other guests in the room." Ozpin turned his attention to Keith and the other boy. "I've lived a long life and have seen many things, but I've never quite seen anything like you before. Two humans, one with the ability to conjure lightning from nowhere and the other with an unusual fighting style that uses a belt to create armor."
Glynda showed footage of Keith's fight against the Tengu Grimm and Rai's fight against the bad guys in the Bullhead.
"Yeah, I'm not from around here. It's a long story." Said Keith
"Same here. You would probably be mind-numbed to hear my story." Remarked the other boy.
"I'd actually be very interested in hearing both of your stories." Ozpin said. "But why don't we start with a name? You know mine, what is yours?"
"The name's Rai. Raiden Stormbringer" Remarked the other boy.
"And your name?" Prompted Ozpin to Keith.
Keith sat in silence with his arms crossed over his chest pondering Ozpin's words and remembering something his dad had said to him one day."There always will come a time when you will be chosen for great deeds and the world will need you. But you don't choose that moment. That moment chooses you."
Keith never had believed in fate. Even when he had been chosen to pilot the Red Lion of Voltron, he thought that it was all a coincidence, but now..
Him crash-landing in Remnant, meeting Decade, becoming a Kamen Rider, encountering that crime boss, at that moment he knew that fate itself had chosen him for a reason.
'This is my moment.' Thought Keith as he gave the answer that would change his life forever.
"My name is Keith. Keith Kogane. But you can call me...Kamen Rider Prime."
Hello!
So anyways, the storyline (with the exception of a few characters and altered dialogues) it uses elements from A Red Rose in the Blue Wind by Iron117Prime. Hats off for him for giving me this Idea!
So anyways, the mystery boy AKA Raiden Stormbringer is going to form a Huntsmen team alongside Keith and two other people. Wanna know who those other people are? Well, you just have to wait and read my other stories!
Anywho, Keith doesn't have a good impression of Decade and that's going to either be helpful or harmful in the long run.
Anyways, don't expect to see team RWBY curb-stomping Lotor's Generals. It's after season 1 that Keith crash-lands onto Remnant. So, no Lotor, no Zarkon, buuut, you can expect to encounter Sendak around here. At the same time, Adam Taurus may or may not encounter Prime and get his ass kicked by him.
But it doesn't matter what side it is, everyone will curb stomp the Grimm. Seriously, they're mooks who were created to be cannon fodder.
Up next on Dual Heredom: Team RWBY(to-be) meets each other, Keith meet's Ruby (again!), and Ozpin has encounters of the interdimensional kind.
