Chapter 1

Waking up in a different place is not a strange thing to me. Waking up in a whole different world that I loved because it was a good cartoon? Ok, that is something else, I have to admit that. The first days after I woke up in this world I honestly was in a state of panic, who wouldn't be, you are suddenly in another world, away from the people you love and aspirations that now are dead. Although… after three days walking without direction in an endless forest made me understand something. I had nothing really, nothing that really attached me to that reality.

After that realization I started to think clearly and shortly after, I knew what world I was in when I suddenly threw a fireball from my fist. At first I didn't believe it because my first thought was Avatar of course, my favorite cartoon back there. But it was confirmed when I saw someone earthbend in a town I came across a week after I woke up in the middle of nowhere. And that is my story so far. That was until I woke up today to a funny sight before me.

When I woke up the first day I only had a few things with me. My clothes, a bo staff and a pouch with what I now know are 50 earth kingdom coins. I got to this village almost at night so I found the most popular place to sleep and bought a room for 5 of those coins. Waking up I saw something that made me smile.

"Is that it?" I smiled sadly but I wasn't going to complain. Having a status window lets me at least know what I need to train. "Status"

Less than I wanted and more than I expected. "Now… What does that perk mean I wonder… Day after day I am liking this world more and more" Standing up from my bed and stretching a bit hearing my back pop in so many places "Oh that's good. Sleeping on the ground really did a number on my back" Finishing my stretching I walked up to the bathroom attached to the room which surprised me to be honest. Avatar has some strange sense of technology and advancements.

Washing up I grab the only clothes that I have with me but before that I got a glimpse at my body from the mirror. I knew I was in a different body. I wasn't the most athletic back home but this body was something else. Looking at myself in the mirror I smile, this body was close to my ideal body back in my other world. Black and medium length hair with amber eyes and a really athletic body. "I am looking nic… what the fu…" I try to see my back and see that I have a tattoo taking my whole back and even extending in some part of my arms from the back. At first I didn't recognize the pattern until something clicked on the back of my mind. It looked a lot like Raava spirit form. Although…

"Ok then… that is something. Wait, so I am not in the middle of Korra, that is good I think." Dressing up I get out of the bathroom and make my way outside.

Walking a little around town I see I am obviously in an Earth Kingdom Town but I don't know exactly where and when I am. Asking around I find out that almost no one here reads that well so there isn't a library but there is a "scholar" in town and the townspeople give me directions to him.

After walking a bit I come up to a house on the outskirts of the town and knock on the door. After waiting a few minutes a man in his early forties opens the door. His hair is all over the place and has a robe of a scholar with ink covering his hands and some of his sleeves "Amm hello, are you Fehi?" I asked and the man on the other side of the door nodded "Indeed I am, what do you need? to be honest it's strange that someone comes looking for me this early" I smile and nod.

"Well, I actually need a little help, you see. I actually woke up a few days ago in the middle of the woods with a nasty headache. My theory is that I hit my head really hard because I currently can't remember anything before that moment. After a few days wondering I found myself here in this village and after asking around the townspeople directed me to you because I need information." I lied through my teeth like it was nothing

Good to know abilities like that can be created. "Oh, that is horrible to hear, come, come inside" He moved inside and let me inside his home. Closing the door behind me I could see the whole mess that was his house. Books and papers everywhere, ink stains all over the floor, walls and some in the ceiling which was something that made me take a step back for a second. How the fu- "Sorry about the mess, come you can take a seat, tea?" He asks while putting two tea cups on the now somewhat clear table "If it wouldn't be much trouble" I said which makes him smile and pours me a cup.

After sitting, he sits on the chair across the table and sips from his cup. "Nice tea, it's really refreshing" I comment "Thanks, it actually uses some of the herbs around the Eastern Air Temple nearby" Huh?, so we are close to that temple, that is… worrying, I don't remember any notable town being close to it. "Wait, are we close by?" He smiles and then stands up to one of the bookshelves behind him searching for something.

"Aha" He grabs a big scroll and then unrolls it on the table. Standing up, I see the map of the four nations, there are a lot of details around the region where we are but I could see little to no detail on the fire nation and the northern water tribe which gives me a lot of information right off the bat. "We are here on the town of Qingao on the region of the same name. As you can see we are only a few days of travel from the Eastern Air Temple, we don't actually enter the ruins out of respect, but the herbs the tea is made from grow on the sides of the mountains where the Air Temples are built." Mm, so I am after the genocide, I almost know that I am in the main timeline of the show but you can never be too sure. Nodding I try to play the part of remembering.

"Out of respect… I remember what happened to them." I see him nod "Yes, it was a tragedy and a lot was lost when they were killed. I actually want to explore the ruins, being a scholar makes me investigate further but even myself, I can't go in there knowing what happened there. It doesn't feel right. Anything else you want to know?"

After that I began asking a lot of questions, one of them was about the currency used and what was its value. What exactly is the situation with the war? When did the genocide happened and what year are we in etc.

After a lot of asking and information I asked if he had a spare map of the four nations which fortunately he had. It had a little less details but he let me copy the details left "Strange, your writing it's pretty good and you know how to read. You speak really well as well. I wonder who are you" He asked while I finish copying the details of the map "I honestly don't remember, all of this comes to me naturally so, I don't know"

Finishing up I give him my thanks and before I go outside of his house I ask something more "Fehi, I know you are a scholar, but what exactly are you doing in this town?" At that he sighs "Well, I am actually from Ba Sing Sei University. I am here studying the Easter Air Temple but after some debating, me and my team decided to not enter and study the environment where they lived and the things they used to grow outside of their temples. My team is currently on their way here after another expedition to the Temple. They are maybe two days away at most." I nod "I figured you came here because of the University. Some things are coming back faster than expected. Thanks for everything, Fehi, I won't forget it." I say adjusting the leather satchel he gave me as a gift which had a black notebook, pen and the map of the four nations. "Don't mention it. What are your plans now?" He asked me while I opened the front door of his home "Well, I don't know but I think I will be heading to the Air Temple. I don't know but something is calling me there. Even before I met you something called me in that direction." He smiled and nodded, "May the spirits guide your journey." I smiled and nodded.

After walking outside I ate and prepared for my journey which cost me 40 coins leaving me with 5 making me sigh. At least I felt like I was prepared now. I had food, a tent and another pair of clothing, among other things that would help me on the journey.

Walking in the direction of the Eastern Air Temple I began contemplating everything that I learned from Fehi. We are currently on 99 AG, so it's just a matter of time before Aang wakes up if he hasn't woken up already. Qingao it's a town that 's really disconnected from the main cities of the earth kingdom so there isn't a lot of news that gets to the town.

After walking for some time I saw that it was getting dark. Fehi told me that on foot it was at least five days to get to the Air Temple but that was with a group of 10, because I was just one it may be more or less time depending on my endurance and pacing. Making camp I lit a fire and prepared everything. I even laid traps around the camp and somewhat deep in the forest for animals.

Laying on my "Bed" I stare at the sky filled with stars and I couldn't help but let a "Wow" escape my lips. Never in my life have I stopped and looked to the sky in this way, maybe in my other life but I could never see this many stars in the sky. This sight made me think more about where I was right now and that I needed to become stronger. Being here a few days made me realize that it doesn't matter if I am in the world of a cartoon. This is now real and I can die any second if I encounter a skilled bender or martial artist which sees me as an enemy which to be honest it's almost everybody right now. I am a firebender so almost everyone that isn't a firebender sees me as their enemy. And I fell asleep.

The next few days I kept on walking but I also began training my firebending. At first I felt like I was just throwing my fists randomly but with some heavy dedication I felt like I was getting better and maybe my Ability had something to do with that.

After three days I came to the coast that the map showed, it separated the land where the Eastern Air Temple is built from the Earth kingdom. Looking at the gap I saw that I had to swim and I had to swim a really good distance while making sure my bag and supplies were not filled with water and after some really good exercise I finally reached the other Island and decided to rest on the beach. A few minutes later, while I was resting I heard movement and I saw a group of ten stopping and looking right at me surprised. I was shirtless while the rest of my clothes dried close to the fireplace. I stood up and waved while getting closer "Hi, are you the group that Fehi mentioned?"

At the mention of Fehi they relaxed and nodded "My name is Atlas, I am just a traveler, I met Fehi back on the town and he told me about your group, although he told me you where two days away, not three" I smiled and tried to look myself not threatening at all although with time I could see some of them become weary with me although I didn't knew why. What I assumed the leader of the group stepped forwards and extended his hand to shake it "My name is Hen, it's good to meet you Atlas, I don't see any boat, did you… swim?" He asked and laughed a little.

I scratched the back of my head and laughed nervously "I actually did, I was resting because it was some serious workout haha" I saw his expression change rapidly. When he asked the questions he seemed somewhat relaxed, but after what I said he then looked serious and everyone else looked tense "Am, Atlas… are you a waterbender?" At that I stopped and my mind went a mile a second.

Why would they ask me that? Why is everyone on edg… Everyone is wearing heavy coats… I am not wearing anything on top and I just said I came out of the water. We are almost in winter and we are relatively close to the south pole. I should be freezing right now but I am not. I tried to come up with an explanation but nothing came to mind. I tried to use the same card I used with Fehi. "I don't know, I woke a few days ago without memory close to Qingao and after some talking I found Fehi and teached me a lot of thing" Status

Fuck, Their faces didnt change, I slowly backed away but they started to get closer little by little "Fellas, you are starting to scare me, what is going on?" At this Hen stopped and spoke again "Tell me, are you a firebender?" I began sweating but didn't see another one out but telling the truth, if I did that there were two outcomes, I would fight them or I would try to escape.

Looking at their group I saw three of them take earthbending positions and that made me sigh "Look, I found about it two days ago, I don't remember my past, I don't even know if I am from the fire nation or from the colonies. I mean no harm" At this they stopped and waited for Hen. He stopped and never took his eyes from mine.

After what felt like hours he finally spoke "You might be right… but I don't care, ATTACK" At this I felt everything slow down in front of me. I was still somewhat wet and was by no means an expert in firebending and I was against ten people, seven of them had weapons and capture weapons ready, three of those ten were already bending earth around them. I was in deep, deep trouble.

Yeah I dont know, just writing what I came up with on the spot. This is honestly more of a project to me that can help me with my writing. English is not my first language and this will help me write better in english. I am a big fan of Avatar and I want to continue this random thought I had the other day about this story.
