Chapter 6: Truth Revealed

Agent BM: That's nice to hear

The following day Zeke went to find his friends.

"Hey Zeke." greeted Vincent.

"Hey, guys." Zeke replied.

"So now that our grades are at a decent level, you gonna kick Bumblebee to the curb?" Madison asked.

Zeke rubbed the back of his neck, and then spoke.

"Uh, listen guys. About what we're doing...we should stop."

"What do you mean?" wondered Evan.

"I mean, what we did was wrong, and Honey doesn't deserve that."

"Aw come on, Zeke. She's just a nerd." Leah told him.

"She may be a nerd, but she's really nice."

"What are you saying Zeke?" wondered Madison.

"Look guys, Honey's shown me new things, and opened my eyes to a whole new perspective on life."

"And that means?"

"Guys...I don't think I want to be friends you anymore."

The others couldn't believe their ears.

"And what about me, Zeke?" Madison snapped.

Zeke stared at her, and then answered.

"We're over, Madison."

Madison's face turned red with anger, while the others looked just as angry. But Zeke didn't care, he just turned around left. Meanwhile, Honey was walking with her new friends. They were happily talking, when something caught their eyes.

A faculty worker was putting up a poster on the wall, it was advertising an upcoming dance.

"Wow, a dance."

"Sounds like fun."

"Hmm, I wonder if Zeke would want to be my date?" Honey thought.

Then the bell rang, and they had to get to class.

After that class, Honey was at her locker getting her books with her headphones on. Suddenly, her music stopped playing.

"What the?" she thought.

It turns out that the batteries had died. As Honey dug some batteries out of her bag, she saw out of the corner of her eye, she saw a group of teens coming towards her. It looked like they were talking about something, but Honey didn't pay them any attention.

But then she heard Zeke's name mentioned.

"I can't believe Zeke broke up with me." cried Madison.

"That Honey Potts really made him go soft." said Evan.

That confused Honey, why were they talking about her?

"She ruined everything. All Zeke had to do was seduce her, and make her do our homework for us." complained Vincent.

Honey couldn't believe her ears. So Zeke was just using her? The group then left, leaving Honey completely stunned. She was snapped out of her thoughts, when the bell rang.

Honey tried to focus on her class, but there was too much on her mind. But then she began to get angry. Zeke wasn't trying to be her friend, and he didn't really like her. It was all just a ruse to get her to do their work for them.

She never wanted to talk to him again. So all day, Honey avoided Zeke. Whenever she saw him in the hallway, she purposely walked the other way, when Zeke tried to talk to her, she ignored him, and avoided eye contact.

When school was over, Zeke tried one more time to talk to Honey.

"Honey, wait up." he called.

"Leave me alone." she told him.

"Look Honey, if this is about kicking your butt at Mortal Kombat, there are worse things to be angry about."

"You think I'm upset over stupid video game!"

"You seemed like it last night. If it's not that then why are you avoiding me?"

"Let me ask you Zeke? How're your grades doing?"

"They're fine. The tutoring you gave me has really helped."

"Oh, I bet it has since you and your friends were near failing."

Zeke suddenly realized what she meant.

"I didn't force you into tutoring me. I simply made you an offer, an offer I kept my end of the deal with. I helped you fit in, I helped you get friends."

"You used me Zeke. You never liked me at all."

"Okay, I admit I did used you, but that was before I got to know you better. You're smart, you're funny, maybe a little cool. You're great at video games, and you love helping people. Honey, I think I love you now."

That made Honey even angrier.

"What about Madison?"

"I broke up with her. We're not right for each other anymore."

"You know what Zeke I thought I loved you too. But how am I suppose to love a liar who betrayed me? I'm not even sure I can trust you anymore."

She started to walk away, but Zeke grabbed her arm.

"Honey, I'm sorry. Please, there must be something I can do to make this right."

"No. I don't ever want to see you again, Zeke. Just stay away from me."

"Honey, please..."

Honey then smacked him in the face, and stormed off, leaving Zeke rubbing his cheek.

At home, Honey quickly went up to her room.

"What's wrong with Honey?" asked Trevor.

"I don't know. She wouldn't talk about it in the car." Wanda told him.

"Must've had a bad day."

When Honey got into her room, she slammed the door, flopped on her bed, and started crying. The bees heard the cries, and flew over to her.

"Honey, what's wrong?" wondered Buzz.

Honey told everything to her bees.

"Oh my gosh." replied Bumble.

"I can't believe it." Stinger told.

"How could I be so stupid?" Honey sniffled.

"You aren't stupid, Honey." Buzz comforted.

"Yeah, you're a smart girl." Bumble added.

"Clearly not start enough to see right through Zeke."

"Don't worry, Honey. If we see that guy again we'll give him a good sting." Stinger promised.

Honey managed to smile a little. Even though she'd been used by Zeke, she liked who'd she'd become because of him. So she'd leave Zeke behind, but keep her new self.
