Chapter 5: The first assignment part 2
With three of the students having caught their very first wild Pokemon, the other four were still looking for their next Pokemon. Right now, we see Gus and his Tadbulb looking for any poissible Pokemon that would fit his team, but so far he wasn't having luck.
"Ugh, finding a Pokemon may be easy, but finding the right one can be a chore" Gus said as he looked around rather dismissively. "Is there a problem?" Gus looked around and he saw Nemona and Pawmot. "Oh, hi Nemona, I'm just looking for a Pokemon, but none of these really fit my style" Gus said, and Nemona replied with "Well, what do you think you would like to specialize in?" At that, Gus thought to himself, he knew that Tadbulb evolved with the use of an evolution stone, and he felt that he could have a team revolving around the gimmick. "Well" Gus said, "I'm considering getting Pokemon that evolve through evolution stones". Nemona nodded and said "Hmm, I see, there is a Pokemon around here that can evolve with an evolution stone, follow me." Gus then followed her to a nearby crystal cave of sorts that was glowing an orange color. "What's in here?" Gus said, "Oh, you'll find out" Nemona answered.
Steeling his nerves, Gus entered the cavern and found himself face to face with a small green kappa Pokemon that had a crown that was styled in the form of a candle.
"What is that!?" Gus exclaimed, "That is a Capsakid, I think you will find it to be a good addition to your team". Taking a deep breath, Gus sent out Tadbulb to do battle with the unusual Capsakid.
"Alright Tadbulb, this is our first wild battle, let's catch ourselves a new teammate!"
With that said, Tadbulb let out a battle cry as it got ready for a fight. Capsakid started off with a Razor Leaf attack, which Tadbulb barely dodged and charged forward with a Spark attack, colliding with Capsakid. However, Capsakid shrugged it off and began to charge an attack as it gathered energy and fired an orange blast that floored Tadbulb.
Gus was starting to get worried as that attack looked like it did a large amount of damage, and he needed to think of something quick, as Capsakid was charging up another blast. "Quick Tadbulb, use Mud Slap!" Hearing his trainer's order, Tadbulb got up and managed to dodge the Tera Blast that was about to hit him. His tail then became surrounded by mud and he slapped it across Capsakid's face, blinding him.
"Wow, that attack seemed to do a lot more damage than it should have" Gus said aloud, "That's because of its tera type" Nemona answered. "Tera type?" Gus queried "Every Pokemon has one, and it seems Capsakid's tera type is fire" "I see, thanks Nemona" With that knowledge, Gus decided to wrap this up with a super effective blow.
"Use Water Gun Tadbulb"
Tadbulb then fired a blast of water from his mouth and it completely doused Capsakid, and it was soon out like a light. "Now's your chance, throw a pokeball!" Nemona shouted out "Got it" Gus replied. He then took out an empty pokeball and threw it at the downed grass type, catching it in an instant. "Alright, I caught a Capsakid" Gus shouted triumphantly as he and Tadbulb posed.
Nemona smiled on as she and Pawmot felt proud as they had helped a student get stronger.
Over with Vanny, she was going through a nearby cave, hoping to find some rough and tough Pokemon, but the ones that she found were too strong for her to take on, like the Houndoom that was leader of a Houndour pack. "Ugh, I hope I can find something good here soon" Her prayers were eventually answered as she then came across a small rock like Pokemon with what appears to be a block of salt as its main body.
"Wow, a Nacli, that's perfect for me, alright Orthworm, let's catch a new Pokemon!" Vanny exclaimed as her giant earthworm Pokemon roared out for battle. Nacli panicked at the sight of Orthworm, and it fired a Mud Shot attack. However, Orthworm only swallowed the attack up in his large maw.
"Wow, I knew that Earth Eater ability would come in handy, now use Iron Head" Vanny said, as her giant earthworm slammed his head into the small salt Pokemon. Before Nacli had any time to react, Vanny brought out a pokeball and threw it at Nacli, catching it in the process. "Ash is going to be so proud of this catch, that's for sure"
Felia was with Rellor and was currently trying to find a possible bug type to add to her team, as she had quite a fondness for the little creatures. Eventually, she found one Pokemon that she'd like, a Vivillon. "Wow, it's so pretty, alright Rellor, let's catch a brand new Pokemon" Felia stated as her dung beetle Pokemon rolled into action.
Vivillon reacted accordingly and launched a Gust attack that caused Rellor to be tossed around in the vicious wind. "Quick Rellor, use Rollout" Rellor then got on top of the ball of mud it rolls and began to roll it towards Vivillon, slamming into it multiple times.
This however, angered Vivillon, and it launched a Bug Buzz attack that could definitely knock out Rellor, but Felia was a quick thinker. "Dodge with Dig" Rellor was quick to burrow into the ground and avoid the attack before popping back up and nailing Vivillon with a Take Down attack, making it fall to the ground. Seizing the chance, Felia then threw a pokeball at the butterfly, which caught it after a few shakes.
Everyone eventually made their way back to the picnic area, but Ash noticed something off. "Hey, where is Penny?" "I'm here Mr. Ketchum, and I caught a Pokemon" Penny showed up, and she revealed her latest catch, a Vaporeon. "I see, well, congratulations eveyrone, you passed the assignment!"
The other patients all cheered as they let out their new Pokemon to join in on the lunch that Ash had made. Ash's Fuecoco was seen getting acquainted with some of the other fire types that Ash has, namely launching fireballs with them and the likes. Ash looked on and smiled as he was eager to see the rest of the region. He may be a teacher, but he still had that child-like enthusiasm back when he started his journey.
