With the success of the recruitment and a game of Broom Ball, the girls were getting ready for the beginning of a new wave of classes in Luna Nova, since some girls were invited by each of the girls to perform the test of how it would be in the more teaching to several people about magic, starting even a real class of magic, without being a class of self defense as it was until then with the 13 initial witches. Each of them invited two girls each to start this test.
The day was dawning, the classes would start at nine o'clock in the morning, so each one of the girls was getting ready to start the classes period, getting ready at their rooms, having breakfast at the kitchen, getting practically ready for the long day of classes, and all of them were already warned by message to mark their presence.
At the red team's room, the trio had already prepared themselves to go, they were just waiting for the time when the classes would start.
" Back to taking classes... I thought I was going to get rid of school, but it seems it never wants to get away from me," Akko said.
" At least that's what you wanted so much Akko, you will still be studying next to Diana, I see that as a victory," said Sucy.
" Still insisting on this crush of mine with Diana? " Kagari said rolling her eyes.
" There is no point in insisting on what already exists Akko, you don't know how to hide your feelings well, you can tell just by the way you act when you see her, it's comical " Manbavaran said.
" I just want to see how these classes turn out, now that everyone will be witches we won't have to hide so much, this will be wonderful, it's a sign that we are getting closer " said Atsuko.
" Or I don't know, we are still walking very slowly, next year we will be 18 and we still have this mission to restore magic in hand, you have only discovered the first word of Claiomh Solais, I know it is a complicated process, but shouldn't we play it further? Who knows how many years we'll have when this is all over? That is if we don't end up going to the next generation and continue this endless cycle," said the Filipina.
" I don't know Sucy, there's no way we can know, we also won't investigate on our own, that's what triggered my kidnapping at the hands of Margaret, we have to be more careful, anyway, soon the classes will start, let's enjoy a little bit of the time we have " said the Japanese shrugging her shoulders.
They were kind of spending that time playing a little video game, to relax from all that. The minutes went by more and more, until it got close to nine o'clock in the morning, which they were leaving the room, going towards the classroom where it was always the same meeting place, this time with all the free places for them to gather. Akko soon noticed Diana's presence, waving to her and running to sit next to Cavendish.
They all slowly made their way into the room, the 26 invited students being Mary, Blair, Avery, Chloé, Sarah, Elfriede, Shao Yi, Katie, Heather, Irene, Rajani, Rashimi, Joanna, Kimberly, Gaelle, Aira, Wangari, Maria, Verochka, Sòla, Daisy, Carmen, Hilda, Molly, Rina and Michelle. All invited by one of each of the other thirteen girls at the request of Chariot and Croix, which was already forming a confusion of voices there from so much talking, until the arrival of the two adults, where all sort of became quieter.
" Good morning girls " Meridies said.
" Today we will start our first class, you must have been all invited by each of the girls, well, they are our primary students, they are the ones who are on this journey of restoring magic, so please come here you " said Du Nord calling for the thirteen initial witches, who were standing in front of the whole class.
" What's so important about them? " asks Chloé, half"important at seeing Diana in the middle of it.
" Well, they were the first to get involved in what we ended up hiding in Luna Nova's past, they went deep and got to where we are now, they fought for it, it wasn't easy, Diana, Akko and Amanda were in the hands of a very dangerous witch, who murdered Rachel, they could have been killed, besides all the others here present, who came to help too," said the red haired one.
" Okay so you mean they came first and are therefore more important than us? " Implies Deppailer.
" Chloé, stop being such a pain in the arse, we're here for a lesson, not to make a fuss," said Sarah.
" No one here is more important than anyone else, all of you are orphans for the same reason that some of you are, for the same reason that all the girls of Luna Nova are, you are descendants of witches, you are their daughters or granddaughters, you were victims of a huge crime that happened long before you were born," said Laura arriving all serious.
" Do you know us that well to come to such conclusions? " asks the blonde.
" Chloé Deppailer, daughter of Estelle Deppailer and Antonia Cevert, born in Paris, her mothers studied here in Luna Nova during 1986 to 1989, they were one year older than me, I helped them a lot with the fertility stone issue, thanks to my little help you can exist, unfortunately her mothers were murdered in December of 2003 when she was still a mere baby, we learned about it and brought her here in a hurry, you have a very noticeable scar on your chest don't you? A diagonal cut, the mark of what the cultists tried to do, they wanted to give a slow and painful death by bleeding, luckily we arrived in time to save you... Then my answer is a yes, I know each one of you because we were on the front line to rescue you " McLaren said leaving even Chloé somewhat awestruck.
The other girls were also getting a little quiet, what with that ended up giving a small pause to organize better the room, Deppailer was getting a little bit speechless, she didn't even have idea of all that happened with herself, she only knew about the name of the mothers, but nothing about how it came to unleash in all that.
Then the room is getting in a huge dark, what the students are paying attention, where Laura and Bernadette appear kind of showing a little bit of magic, with a greenish essence passing by their hands.
" Magic, do you know what magic is? " Chariot asks until Sarah raises her hand.
" Is it an energy that does spells? " Bernhardt asks.
" It is almost that, but be very attentive, I will show you what magic is, how it works, for this is only the beginning of your lessons, you will understand better " said the Du Nord.
" Is this thing really real? When Hannah showed it to me it looked like some well"made holograms," said the teasing Chloe.
" You've become the new bitch of the room, filling us with questions," said the redhead, showing us more spells.
" Just like someone in the past " said her wife, already making a joke and the whole room laughing together.
Soon afterwards begins the history of the legend of magic being shown to the girls, about the witch mother of all Lilith, which thousands of years ago when humans were still learning to build civilizations, the girl finds a magic stone that makes her have inexplicable powers that end up making her manipulate many things, with this she had in hands the total control of nature and some elements, it was a much greater force than she could imagine.
Lilith eventually learned by time to control it and this met with another human named Luna, together they were forming a society of witches millennial, where they passed the lessons they acquired for them, these passed to the next and thus the witchcraft spread the world, only that unfortunately the power and greed of the human being spoke louder, which eventually made the pair ascended to heaven.
There they were never seen again, and because they still had a little faith in humanity they let the magic continue to flow around the world, the magic stone disappeared, but the magic always continued to exist in the world.
The following years were of many wars, many fights, by witches and wizards who manipulated magic, calling themselves as divinities, controlling the masses, this for many years, until this issue was losing strength to organizations of witches that were much more out of the box, that monopolized magic and had the title of god or put some people as messengers of their own.
This period was the beginning of the presence of the great faith, it was no longer magic, it was beliefs spread around the world where an invisible deity controlled everything, where it was no longer something reachable by ordinary humans, magic became something restricted, it was in this beginning of the era that eventually came the saviors of magic.
The nine witches, Beatrix, Woodward, Harriet, Freya, Madeleine, Kara, Anna, Marianne and Hera, in a journey they made around the world in search of what they described as the twelve books of Lilith, searching and facing various dangers, until they received the blessing of the witch herself when they stopped at her divine sanctuary, where its location is still quite unknown, but the two immortal witches still remain there watching the world.
These nine witches blessed by Lilith came to bring the message, the message of continuing to believe in magic, of restoring magic, which they actually went on to do, which resulted in the founding of Luna Nova in the 5th century after christ.
After the summary told by Chariot, Croix, Laura and Bernadette, the lights came back on in the classroom, the girls there were even impressed, it was a story of a lot of overcoming and struggle for magic to get where it is today.
" So how did you like the story? " McLaren asked.
" So you mean that this place here has existed for more than 1500 years? " Akko asks, impressed.
" It has always existed, the building has always changed, we have undergone many reforms, including a fire in 1517, at the time when the Christian organisation decided to persecute us, we even think that the cultists may be their descendants " said the Irish woman.
" This place carries the history of current magic, most of the great historical witches have stepped here, they were students, teachers, great witches who changed and modernized what is the world of witches " Chariot said.
" And why are we in it today? If you have such a rich history, then where are the witches? " asks Sarah.
" It's a long story, but we'll keep telling it, so pay attention," said Meridies.
Then the darkness returns, the story is told again, the nine witches conquered their space during the second half of the second millennium, they were growing around the world and magic was becoming popular again, witches were more common than anything.
Although always the religious organizations came to oppose, this new magic without rules, without belief of a god, it was just the teaching of it for everybody, this idea was very contradictory for the witches who dominated and had their hand in the religions.
It was a break from the manipulation they could do with the population and with that small intrigues were arising, entire nations in the world were forbidding the use of magic, books and information were burned, again the witches found themselves hiding with fear of the power that these organizations had, a lot in the hand of almost every leader around the world, was enough to risk the lives of many people.
What ended up becoming a millennium full of wars, witches and religious people facing each other secretly without the common population knowing, these stories were never told in history books, they were real armies fighting each other, causing damage where they passed.
What ended up wearing down the witches for not having the same organization that the religious had, not even the influence.
Unfolding in the 15th century, where practically the whole world found itself in the persecution of the witches, systematically, the magic was forbidden the hunting was allowed, for a very long period, including causing the fire of Luna Nova of 1517, what brought down a lot the society of the witches at the time, even not being organized, ended up entering centuries of terror.
The centuries of terror came with witches even having restrictive thoughts, persecuting even those who loved each other, with gains in rewards, these which were then handed over to religious institutions to be "cured", in a dirty scheme of corruption between the church and a witch called Mildred Berger who promoted all this.
But there were those who opposed it and brought peace again, in 1743, Jennifer Cavendish restored Luna Nova, between 1753 and 1781, Victoria McLaren fought for the rights of love between witches, being able to dethrone Mildred and thus assuming the position of leading witch.
With the help of these two witches the organisation was slowly coming back, the laws were stopping with the persecution of the witches, but they still faced a huge problem that they had no way of stopping.
There was no way to stop the industrial revolution in the world, the two witches were trying their best to restore magic, but they were conflicting minds, Victoria was going in the more modernist direction of magic, she wanted to bring the industrial revolution, while Jennifer, was going in the traditionalist direction.
With the fear of humanity, and the more intelligent way of speaking everything ended up favouring Jennifer's side, she was the one who gained more notoriety and so magic went through a period until a little bit of a golden age, but Victoria saw that this would be temporary, since the fixation for the traditional was what remained.
Unfortunately McLaren was right, magic went on to become very elitist and traditionalist, trying only a single century where it could return to the high ground, but then it eventually lost ground to humans modernising themselves, the industrial revolution had already reached a very high scale, the fact that the witches of the time avoided contact with the mundane world only made it worse.
The explanation was making it even clearer to the girls, who spent a good amount of time marvelling at that history of magic lesson being the main introduction for them to understand.
" Woah... So you mean we got shitfaced because of a Cavendish? " Chloé asked, laughing.
" Jennifer was grand, but her thoughts weren't, in fact, she didn't even get to have descendants, she was the aunt of one of the great fighters for the equality of witches, who was on Victoria's side alias, Diana Cavendish II, Jennifer kind of drifted away from her family roots, she wanted to build something new, and she succeeded, let's not diminish her greatness " Bernadette said.
" Now it makes sense for them to talk about magic being old"fashioned " Akko said.
" Yes Akko, that's exactly what I said years ago, unfortunately the teacher wasn't very friendly with my ideas, if they listened more to Victoria who knows how the world would be today, it was a huge delay, but at the same time it kept magic safe for those years, we weren't in so much danger anymore " Laura said.
" Until 1999, right? You ended up losing everything," Diana shrugged.
" And I'm sure that comes from the ricin against the witches who play the gods, they are also losing strength these days, now they want to wipe us out for good, so we make this point of telling the magic and keeping it alive " McLaren said.
" Now that you understand, come back here tomorrow for more stories, that's all for today, I hope you enjoyed it, just don't tell anyone here that you are learning magic, soon you will hold a wand and will become great witches " said Chariot with a smile on her face.
" I just don't want to have the same fate as my mothers, if you talk so much about it, because we are putting our hands in the fire... It makes such a big deal to want to restore magic, since history shows that it was a rather old"fashioned practice? " said Chloe.
" Because we can make it modern, we'll revive magic and run after the damage Victoria warned us so much to follow, we can make magic become something important in the world again, all we have to do is believe and fight for that, we have to first of all finish with these cultists, then we'll restore magic and run after it, that's what I was planning with my friends, we had a whole political plan and everything else to make the modernization of magic viable, but 1999 happened, there was no way we could have expected that out of nowhere we would be attacked and that magic would break again, our plan would start in 2000, imagine what the shock was, we had everything ready, but they ended with our dream, have you ever stopped to think that we can use a lot of things with magic that will be more efficient than any human thing? That it won't be that limited? Well, that's what we want to do," said the Irish woman explaining to Chloé.
" Anyway I want to learn magic so I don't end up dead, at least I have something to defend myself " Deppailer said.
After that the class ended and each one left praising the teachers for teaching so well, with the exception of the thirteen who stayed for a while to talk as if it were a meeting, already deciding for the next class, besides celebrating the success that teaching magic had been.
The magic class was a real success, all the girls present enjoyed it, even Chloé who was more annoying, but what really caught the attention was the fact that the four of them knew exactly what had happened to their mothers, and why they were in Luna Nova.
