Chapter 8: Nemona and Arven

It was now nighttime, and everyone in Ash's group had settled down around a campfire that Ash himself had made with some help from Fuecoco. "So Ash, what inspired you to come all over here?" Thomas asked as he roasted his marshmallow over the flame. "Well, you see I was getting rather bored after the World Coronation, there weren't many trainers that could give me that sort of challenge nowadays, either they were too cocky, or they were too afraid to face me" Ash had explained as he looked on thoughtfully into the fire. "I'm not sure that the champion of Paldea could provide you with the same challenge as Leon could" Vanny said, only for Ash to reply with "That's the thing, I decided to challenge myself in something I didn't have much experience with, and that is inspiring others." "Well right now I say you are doing a great job" Felia cheered as her Rellor and Vivillon both chimed in appreciation.

"I appreciate the sentiment, but I have yet to be truly tested in this field" Ash said as he then saw the steak over at the grill was ready. "Well would you look at that, dinner's ready" Ash said as he brought the steak out before spicing it up a bit. He then served it to both student and Pokemon alike, and they all proceeded to chow down, with Pikachu Fuecoco and Wattrel talking to each other, but not all of the Pokemon were as cordial.

While Clodsire wasn't looking, Shroodle decided to sneak a bite out of Clodsire's portion. When the poison fish saw what happened, he attacked Shroodle, whom retaliated with Fury Swipes. But this misfired and hit Dodonzo, whom also got angry, who attacked with a Body Slam, which Tadbulb got in the crossfire of, and the chain further extends.

Soon, all of the Pokemon were fighting, with the students trying to gain control of the situation but with no lead way. Ash however was able to disperse the situation with Pikachu's Thunderbolt breaking them up. After that crisis was averted, they finished dinner and went to sleep.

As they went to sleep however, Ash began to contemplate on the events he went through while he was in Paldea so far. He was now a teacher to a bunch of young trainers, one where he must set a great example for them so they can accomplish great things in life. He then thought about how grateful he was that he had Misty and Brock to guide him back when he was starting out, or else he would be hopelessly lost.

"Now I'm starting to see the responsibilities of what Brock has to handle, good thing I had mom teach me how to cook a decent meal at least" Ash muttered while he dozed off.

The Next Morning

Back when he was younger, Ash liked to sleep in, as he tended to train well into the night. Nowadays however, he developed into something of an early bird, always up early and ready to train after brushing his teeth. And that was the style he wanted to impart onto his peers, so that way they can be proactive.

"Alright class, it's time to wake up" Ash said as he started to cook breakfast. His students all got up with groggy expressions on their faces. "Ugh, what do you think I am? A farmer?" Gus said as he woke up with a cranky tone in his voice. "I was hoping I could et some beauty sleep, but sadly it doesn't seem like it" Carla said as he let out her Dondozo and Veluza for some fresh air.

"Sorry class, but I'd class for you all to be up early and ready to go, I'm sure the smell of pancakes will get you running" and that statement was true, as the students perked up at the smell of fresh pancakes. As they dug in, they began to see a couple of familiar faces walking up to their campsite. They were Nemona and Arven, and they looked like they wanted to ask Ash something "Hey Ash, do you mind if I can ask you a favor?" Arven asked. "What is it Arven?" Ash replied "You see, I was wondering if I could join your group, I can whip up some amazing meals for you and the students" "And I want to be your assistant, it would be an honor helping the world's strongest trainer teach" Nemona said with a smile on her face.

"Hmm, I'm not sure" Ash said "I'll ask the students what they think." He then walked to the students, and they all collectively said "Yes" Ash turned around with a grin and said "Welcome aboard you two, how about you show us your Pokemon?" "Sure thing Ash, come on out team" Nemona said as she presented her team, which consisted of Pawmot, a midday Lycanroc, and a small green kitten Pokemon with large eyes.

"What's this Pokemon?" Ash asked "This girl is a Sprigatito, the grass starter of the region." Ash looked up the Pokemon in his Rotom Phone and he saw that Sprigatito's fur is similar in composition to plants, and they are capable of giving off a sweet scent. "And these are my Pokemon too" Arven states as he releases his Pokemon: A Greedent, a Scovillian, the evolved form of a Capsakid, a Garganacl, the final evolution stage of a Nacli, and a small white duck with a bubble like structure on its head.

"And what might this Pokemon be?" Ash said as he scanned the Pokemon with his phone, which revealed that it was a Quaxly, the water starter of the region. Apparently the bubble on its head is like wax, and it's very fussy about the upkeep of its feathers. "Wow, I just so happen to have Fuecoco, the fire starter" Ash said as he introduced his Pokemon. "Sweet, that's what Capsakid will evolve into" Gus said, pointing to Scovillain "And that is what Nacli will evolve into" Vanny said as she pointed to Garganacl.

"Well you came over here just in time, I was making breakfast, if you want it that is" Ash said as he offered some of the pancakes that weren't taken yet. "Thanks Ash" Nemona was quick to grab one as she and Pawmot scarfed their breakfast down. "Make sure you don't choke" Arven said with a bit of sass in his voice as he and the rest gathered around to enjoy their time together.

After breakfast was done, Nemona approached Ash "Hey Ash, there is something that the Director told me to give you" she said. "What is it?" Ash replied "This" She then held out an orb that resembled a pokeball, but it had a hexagonal pattern inside it. "What is that?" "It's a Tera Orb, it allows you to Terrastalize your Pokemon" "Oh yeah, I heard about that when I got here" Ash said as he was handed the orb. "You can check what tera types your Pokemon have by scanning them" Nemona pointed out, and that's what Ash did.

When Ash scanned them, he saw that Pikachu's tera type was flying, Fuecoco's was fire, and Wattrel's was electric. "This will add a new layer to battling for sure" Ash said as he and the others got ready to move.
